Ive been here several times over the years and have never been disappointed. Ive sold family jewelry and have always been surprised by how fair the deal was. Some of these bad reviews seem to be coming from desperate people who did not like their offers.... I for sure recommend and have recommended friends and family.

I went to this place based on the reviews but I should have trusted my gut and left when I pulled into the back alley driveway.The building is old and disheveled. The furniture is unbalanced with torn upholstery. Again. Red flag. Should have left.I brought in a nearly 1 carat diamond necklace that was passed down to me that I knew very little about. The owner kept down playing the value and explained that the gold setting was causing it to be less valuable, which didnt seem to make sense as you can take the diamond out. He offered me $90 and I decided to keep the necklace and leave. I brought it into a reputable jeweler to be appraised and placed into a new setting style that fit my personality better. I discovered it was a very high end diamond and was valued at nearly $2200, but the jeweler said that a buyer would likely pay $800-$1000 for it.Yeah.... thats quite a bit higher than $90. What a RIP off! Go anywhere else.

I had 50 years of old jewelry, still beautiful but never worn anymore. I considered selling on EBay but was not looking forward to the the work and costs involved. I looked on Google for Seattle merchants who buy precious metals and jewelry. Sound Gold Buyers had the best reviews and the Ben reflected in the reviews, was a cross between best honest person ever and a superhero! I can now attest that it is ALL true! I would not hesitate to do repeat business here and will highly recommend Sound Gold Buyers and Ben! Thank you Ben!

Ben is that dude. Ive been coming here for years, and its always been professional and informative. For those who dont feel they are getting the proper amount, you can literally go online and find a gold value calculator so you know what your metal is worth BEFORE going to ANY buyer. Remember, the person buying the gold isnt going to give you that value, as they need to get paid too. Thats how this works.

Ben was very nice, thorough, and fair. He was willing to let me use his loupe to read the carat percentage on the chain that I was selling, and carefully explained to me the value. He paid a bit over 75% of the spot market price for gold, which as far as I understand is very reasonable (and much better than youll get from most online gold buyers). I would definitely take anything else I wanted to sell to him.

Not worth even giving one star but Google requires at least one to do a review. The owner has repeatedly lied about pricing and purporting to pay more for resellable items. In choosing Sound Gold Buyers I not only lost out financially but was treated poorly with the utmost unprofessionalism. Definitely DO NOT recommend this company. Even if it they were the only option available.

Ben is honest, straightforward, and I would trust him with any jewelry I decide to sell. He opened the doors for me with no appointment (which he didnt have to do.) He was welcoming and I got the best possible price for my gold. I thought one of my rings was 14k and he assured me it was 18k. Go to him for all of your jewelry needs! :)

Never any need to drive out of town anymore to make an exchange for precious metals! North Seattle residents have good reliable advice available right there in Crown Hill Ballard. Ive never encountered such an honest appraisal or fair exchange for metals into currency. If you are anywhere in the NW area of Seattle WA, and are looking for good honest advice, stop in and say hi to Ben.

I discovered Sound Gold Buyers when reading negative reviews about another local, highly advertised gold buying company. All the good reviews I read about Ben and his business were true. I had a few pieces of gold mixed in with a lot of pieces of costume and junk jewelry -- not really knowing what was what. Ben was very friendly, professional and efficient, sifting through everything and quickly determining what was of monetary value. I was in and out of his office within 20 minutes, with check in hand as I left. I discovered more items in my closet that I will be taking to him soon.

I called Sound Gold Buyers yesterday to schedule an appointment to have some old jewelry looked at. Ben was able to fit me in that evening and provided me extra instructions on where to park at that time of day. He was also very gracious when I called en route to tell him I would be a few minutes late because of traffic. All the other reviews I had seen for SGB were right on the money. Ben was very detailed in his explanation of the process and evaluation of my items. He also retested a stone that he thought to be a CZ, but turned out to be a diamond (which he then gave me more money for). Overall, I would highly recommend this business as the process was very easy and Ben was great to work with.

Apparently it’s appointment only, and the doors are locked at all times. I rang the doorbell but no one answered so I guess I’ll go elsewhere. Can’t comment on how good an experience it is.

On Friday Sep. 7th i called before i showed up to Sound Buyers store in crownhiull. to let the person working there i was on my way. When i got there and the door was opened i greeted him and i put my hand out for a handshake and he just looked at me and turned around just really rude. OK besides that when i showed him what i had for sale he didnt communicate with me at all about my product and gave me a offer. And when i was thinking about it he says i look like i need fast cash saying he pays only with check. Implying what? Why do i look like i need fast cash? Anyway i denied his low offer and just want to let everyone know i have never experienced a store where i was treated so disrespectfully and so rudely to. Im just a regularly guy and dont recommend this place to anyone unless you want to get robbed and treated like shi*. if i could give 0 STARS I WOULD.
