Customer service was great. My mother had lots of replica coins that I figured were not worth anything. They were not. The gal that helped me was so professional. I felt bad that I didnt have business for them because of the worthless coins but they never made me feel like I was wasting their time. Go here! Great people.
I used to work at a bank as a vault teller and had a $1,000 bill come across the counter. It was in rough shape (tattered and torn). At a bank this is classified as mutilated money, it is not normally returned into circulation, and eventually is batched and shipped out to receive credit from the Fed. Long story short I purchased the note out of my drawer and took it to the coin shop to see if there was perhaps some numismatic value to it. They offered me $300 and explained that it was in rough condition so its not worth more, and that a bank wouldnt accept it because of its condition. Mind you, its a $1,000 USD bill worth $1,000 face value and was fully intact not missing any sections (albeit, it was very worn and torn). I didnt disclose that I worked for the bank or how I got it, but was disappointed to see such unscrupulous behavior from an alleged numismatic professional. I took it back to the bank and sold it back to my drawer for $1,000. Caveat emptor.
Glad they making so much effort to keep the store spaces clean and sectioned during these viral times. The staff generally seem knowledgeable and work fairly efficiently through the transactions.Would like if they could update their website so that it was more of an e-commerce site with a landing page that provided general and specific details for different tiers of customers (i.e. beginner, experienced).Overall they have a good mix of silver/gold, rare earths, and a range of MS coins. It is a good policy that they can order items for you if they are not in the store. I think perhaps they could attempt to update their store space to more of boutique than a gallery layout and hire a security professional to guide their design efforts.
Professional and courteous. Great experience.
I prefer Bellevue rare coins, the West Seattle location. is my favorite they always treated me well and they treat everybody else with respect and they dont try to get over on people Ive been all over went to about 40 different coins shops and one or 2 where good but none of them came close to being the right price overpricing but not like the West Seattle/Bellevue rare coins have treat me like no other I would like to thank and say much love and respect to you guys are the best thank you from Jesse Rains
I walked in off the street with no appointments but had done my homework. They evaluated my items and gave me a very fair price? The customer service was excellent and the whole process was seemless. I would recommend them and will do business here again
Knowledgeable staff. The condescending young man working there took his time to advise me with my first precious metals purchase. The premiums here are competitive and if an item isnt in stock, they can order it for you with the current spot price locked in. Ill return.
My mother recently passed away and we had LOTS of coins and bills that we wanted to sell, along with a few pieces of jewelry. We had been here in the past and had such a positive experience we went back. Again, this time they were very knowledgeable and SO friendly. There was no pressure at all.Wendy was super patient with us and is so friendly. We are happy with the prices that they gave and would definitely go back again. It did get fairly busy and we had to wait for a bit but it was well worth it. Others had to wait for us as well because they take their time with each customer. They will let you know when you go in about how long it might be.We highly recommend this place.
Have gone to Bellevue Rare Coins in West Seattle twice now to get assorted jewelry appraised to sell. Very pleasant, clean and inviting atmosphere. Working with Gill McLynne is delightful; he is courteous and takes time to look carefully at all the items and answers any questions on valuations and even provides helpful insights I otherwise would not know about. I never felt rushed to make a decision, and prices to sell seem very reasonable. All else being equal, comfort level is a big factor in business interactions, and working with Gill is a positive and enjoyable encounter. Hes a credit to this shop.
Gill and Wendy both are very knowledgeable and professional when it comes to your coin or jewelry needs. No matter big or small. They are very attentive and patient with all the customers that walk in the door. Gill is my go to jewelry man. I wll definitely be back
The reason I give Bellevue rare coins a five star the West Seattles branch is the best. Im a coin collector thats my hobby I love everything about collecting coins and Ive been to many coin and precious metals outfits and Ive never been to a place like West Seattle coins... the treatment the service etc all around honesty they are by far my favorite go-to spot for precious metals /coins thanks youll for everything .from your number one fan JESSE RAINS🔔
Hands down the best experience Ive had a coin shop. Gil was super knowledgeable, professional, and helpful. Highly recommend this shop to anyone looking to buy or sell bullion.
Why California Bellevue Rare Coins over anywhere else? The answers has two names; Gill and Wendy. As you should know, you can sell and buy precious metals, coins, collection coins and jewelry in Internet, also, you can do it at Bellevue Rare Coins.Bellevue Rare Coins has 4 locations, I have been in all of them. However, the only place where I can find Gill and Wendy is here.Gill has been always nice with me, and he is able to answer any questions that I have, thanks to him I didnt walk away from Rare Coins as a result I became a frequent costume. It doesnt matter if it is to sell or buy.Wendy has the stongest power to develop a connection with costumers regarding the transactions. she always made me feel that my transaction is the right thing to do and leaves me happy when I buy or sell.I will visit again the other three locations to give them a second chance, and probably this time I will write about my experience there. The company is fair with the prices, but the reason that keeps me as a customer more than the fair prices is Gill and Wendy.
Highly recommend Bellevue Rare Coins, West Seattle. The friendly staff are very knowledgeable about coins and currency, and estate jewelry items. Our collectible coins were evaluated quickly, and we received a very nice price for the collection.
I would highly recommend this place. Gill was thorough, knowledgeable, and very respectful. He even took the time to answer questions I had about items I was offering to sell. He treated me and the heirlooms I brought in with the respect they deserved. I left feeling I received a fair price and dealt with a professional.
Justin got through the huge bag of old coins that I brought so quickly and was so careful in checking every single one! Deirdre was very friendly and personable too the whole time! I would absolutely recommend these guys to anybody who has any broken jewelry or old coins to sell. Very professional and curteous. I got a great deal on everything I brought in too!
The best place to sell gold in Seattle and a great option for coin collectors, as well. Ive been going to Bellevue Rare Coins for 6+ years now (since they were still West Seattle Coins) and they are always very consistent, knowledgeable and fair. Pricing is very transparent which I appreciate. Ive both bought from and sold to them and Ive always had good experiences. At one point I was driving up from Olympia because their prices were that much better than my local options! If you want to buy or sell gold, jewelry, silver, or other valuables in the greater Seattle area, this is the place to do it. I appreciate that theyre able to quote prices over the phone (for bullion/some coins, at least). If you have something to sell or youre looking to buy, Id encourage anyone to call BRC and some other coin shops in the area to see what price they quote you.
I shop here quite often as a hobby collector, and have developed a very good relationship with the staff, they are very knowledgable and helpful. Also I might add they stand behind what they sell you in both graded and raw coins, even when I have upgraded, they have taken back what I had previously purchased towards the upgrade. They also do layaway if you find something you absolutely want but cant afford the whole cost at the time. So on that note I highly recommend them and trust them, Gill is my favorite guy to deal with, he knows his stuff! I will also be buying my wife some jewelry here for Christmas, they have some great deals to be had, much better than a chain jewelry store.
Excellent, secure place to sell jewelry. Very honest staff there, highly recommended!
Second visit to West Seattle Coins. Arrived with a box of coins, American and foreign. Frank took the time to sort through each coin and explained the value process and what each coin was worth. The dollar amount I received was much more than an offer I received from another dealer. This place is worth your time.If you have items to sell and want top dollar, I highly recommend Frank and his store.
My husband and I took in some old jewelry that had belonged to his mother, and some old circulated coins. The man behind the counter was courteous, professional, very knowledgeable and low key. There was no pressure on us whatsoever. We ended up walking out with over $300 cash for items that we did not think had any value at all. (We did not sell any of the coins at this time). The wait was short (for a Saturday) and the experience was very pleasant.
The reason I give five star is for Gill McLynne this guy is impressive by only view he can exactly tell you what you got. Big professional and very fair friendly and smiling.I’m always happy with them. There’s more than a million reasons to go Bellevue coins.💪💪💪Eric Da
I didnt enjoy talking with this guy, the way he worded things sounded more condescending then caring, didnt sell my peices nor did it even seem that he cared to take them, while what he said was fine and I understood, was not feeling the good vibes. I got the feeling that he is use to telling people their valuables are not valuable and its almost an annoyance for him to have to tell someone else. I recommend going somewhere else, I hear Sound Gold Buyers are good, and even by the voicemail you can tell that shop is much more personable, reasonable and out for win win situations.
Going to West Seattle Coin was a great experience. Jason the manager there is very knowledgeable. I felt like they were not trying to presser me in any way. Thy took time to explain how things are valued. I would go back for sure!
Very informative about there coins and Gil is such a nice person. Everytime I go in there he is always so helpful, while giving me a good price. Thank you.
Went there for the first time today and was attended to almost immediately. I had a bunch of scrap gold ranging from 10k-18k. They tested and weighed everything right in front of me and offered me what I believe was a fair price (85% of the actual value of the scrap). I had been to a few other places (who I will not name) and had offers ranging from 50%-70% of scrap value. So w/out even asking they offered me a vert competitive price and on top of that they were nice enough to round off the price.Altogether, great service, good pay on my gold and a very quick/painless process. Highly recommended.
Justin and Deidre were excellent. Looked at my coin and gave a fair and accurate evaluation. THANKS !!!
Took jewlery from a deceased relative to get an offer. I signed up for one on their free consulations because while I knew exactly how much gold I was bringing in, was interested to hear about the diamonds and would have sold to them had they made a halfway reasonable offer. But get this - BRC offered me $41 for a 14k bracelet that weighs 13+ grams + .45 carat diamond. This represents about 88% BELOW melt price of $353 for 13 grams of 14k. Not even talking about the value of the diamond (which weighs less than .2 grams)...Total ripoff!!Also offered under $300 for another necklace/earring pair with weight of 26 grams of 14k gold...Less than 50% of melt.In the past when I have sold here their spread from melt price is well under 10% for precious metals but I had .999 10 oz bars where it was very obvious what their spread was. Also sold them some gold cuff links a while back but knew exactly what they were worth @spot and agreed to 6-8% below. But if you go in with a bunch of jewlry they WILL low ball you - BADLY if they think you are trusting them in their consultation to give you a fair price. There were 16 pieces total and all that were gold were offered between 10%-40% of melt price. Make sure you know EXACTLY what you have before selling to this place! They did nothing illegal but ethically they are severely deficient. They pay over 90% of melt when you know what you have, but pay 10-40% to someone who doesnt. I cant imagine how many poor old ladies or other ignorant folks they have made a killing off of!!In other words, BRC is NOT a trustworthy place to get a fair offer for jewlry if you dont know EXACTLY what you have. Ive always weighed everything and know the purity prior to attempting to sell anywhere. As stated earlier, I have sold silver and gold bars and got a very fair spread in the past from BRC...well under 10%, I think about 4-8% on different trips. However when I walked in the other day with a bag of jewlry in my construction clothes right after work, seemed they thought they could get away with such low offers because maybe I looked like I didnt know anything lol.Total offer was about $1800 from BRC for the 16 pieces - which I politely did not take. Ive sold 3 of the 16 on ebay for $1800 already LOL..Be careful out there, and always know exactly what you are selling (weight, purity ect) and look up market scrap prices so BRC or other places dont rob you blind!!!
Excellent experience! They are honest and appoachable. Gave me more money on some pieces based on the antiquity. This is the only place I will take my valuables.
Totally awful experience soaking roughly $600 in old collectible coins. the guy looked over all the coins and proceeded to offer me a dollar a piece. Not even the coins silver value!!!! totally tried to tried to rip me off I dont know if the guy was going to pocket the coins for his own collection or what but really sleazy experience. Dereck was the name of the employee that I had this terrible and insuting experience.
Thanks Gill for all your help !! Excellent customer service and a pleasure to deal with !!
Brought some coins in here to sell and everyone I talked to was very kind and professional. I highly recommend this place!
I went to the West Seattle location for Bellevue Rare Coins several years ago, and left feeling like Id been ripped off. I sold several pieces of silver jewelry because I was in urgent need of money and was paid a tiny fraction of the value of the jewelry. I very much regret my decision to sell the jewlery, and would never go back the Bellevue Rare Coins.
I use this reliable local business for all my coin and metals
This place will give you the lowest deal possible.
I dont really have a basis for comparison but they were nice and did a good job explaining things when I went in to sell back some misc. silver place settings.
He was cussing people out at the door
They always keep it 100
