We enjoyed our little visit here. The flavours and textures were different, and delicious, not just different for novelty. The tiny window facing bar is a nice touch to take a seat. Some outdoor seating too but it’s metal so bring some warmer pants as the days get chillier!

This little doughnut shop on Pike St makes some beautiful and fun donuts, although a bit on the pricy side. The bomba/bombs filled with caramel espresso creme was outstanding! They open super early every day (at 6am) which is awesome. I often see people having coffee and donuts in front of the store in an otherwise empty street during early mornings.

A little known secret about me is I’m obsessed with donuts. I really really enjoy them and I would eat them everyday if I could without consequence. Half and Half Doughnut Co has been on my list of donut shops here in Seattle to try. We happen to walk in right as they put a nice row of fresh glazed raspberry old fashions on the shelf, so I had to order one of those. I also ordered a black and white chocolate donut and a cream filled donut as seen in the pictures. The women working the counter was extremely nice and provided great service. She was kind enough to warn me that the raspberry old fashion was just glazed and might be very messy. The box they use for the donuts was a perfect sized box for 3-4 and was decently durable. Now for the taste test. The donuts were all good, the raspberry was sweet and the glaze was practically melting off because of how fresh. The black and white was a solid choice and a very classic taste. The cream filled I didn’t care much for but my wife loved it. The reason I rate 4/5 is because I have an ongoing debate about donuts here in Seattle….most of them taste the same. They are not ever really soft and are all neutral between firm/hard. I prefer softer donuts. I won’t drop other donut shop names as comparisons because I want you all to try all the shops yourself. But hey!! They are really good donuts. If you have a craving I would recommend this shop to you. -Colter

Did a Yelp search for local donut shops and found this place within a half mile of our hotel on first Hill. Nice leisurely stroll through the neighborhoods into Capitol Hill at 8:00 a.m..Decided to get sous vide eggs to start and got the caramelized onion with bacon and cheese. I am serious when I say get yourself one! It was a great start to the morning.Of course we ordered several flavors of donuts to carry back to our hotel..... The pineapple fritter is such a unique taste and so crispy on the edges! Probably one of the best fritters Ive ever tried. The passion fruit glazed old-fashioned gave you that sweet with a little bit of tart that helped to balance everything else out and was very tasty. We couldnt walk away without one of each of the mini Bimbas ....... And wow! I dont know how they make these donuts but they have a nice little crunch as you bite in and then sink your teeth into this dense pillow of doughy goodness. If youve had them you fully understand what Im trying to describe. The cream fillings in each one are not overly sweet and balanced the bite perfectly. Oh and these guys know how to fill a donut! I turned each mini one into four bites and was not disappointed by the amount of cream each bite included.Definitely keeping this place on my list and encouraging my friends to stop by.

Truly the best donuts and fritters that ever were. The cases are filled with jewel-like pastries and none will disappoint. The old fashioned donuts, the incredible scones, the biscuits and fritters all make for delicious breakfast treats. The coffee is stellar, as well, making it a perfect place to stop for a morning pick-me-up. We stopped by Sunday as it was one of the only places open early during a recent trip from NYC and have made a point of going every morning. Friendly and prompt service, as well! Well worth a visit.

The prices were average, theyre big donuts so I thought it was really well priced.

I came here around 1PM to grab a post-lunch dessert, and there were so many choices that were all quite unique. I asked for the most popular one and was told the old fashioned ones are quite popular (especially chai and another one that I forgot). I ended up getting a passion fruit old fashioned. The icing was quite tart but didnt have a super strong passion fruit taste, and there was a lot of icing. The old fashioned donut itself wasnt very crispy, and it was in general just okay. Definitely pricey for a donut, came out to be around $4 post-tax.

Interesting donuts, I like that theres mini versions so you can sample more. It is on the pricier side in my opinion. I got the cronut, old fashioned and bomba. Out of all of them, the cronut was my favorite. Like and flaky and good flavor, the old fashioned was probably my least favorite, it doesnt have the old fashioned texture, more cakey/soft.

After walking by an unmentionable amount of times before an open date sign was put up, Im excited that I finally got to try some donuts from Half-n-Half!*Highly* recommend the Old-Fashioned donut. The current flavor was the Chai Old-Fashioned, and it was spiced to perfection. The bananas foster was a solid banana creme inside, but the dough seemed a little heavier than I expected. The pineapple fritter was a fantastic change from a usual apple. I wasnt a huge fan of the chai latte, but I might have to try a regular latte for the next visit.Super cute decor inside a tiny shop. There isnt much room for eating your donut inside, so be prepared to take your donut(s) to-go after snapping a couple pics. :)

I have a problem with donuts: I think most of the places would have the same taste and texture in the donut besides the icing. We bought the raspberry and the icing was delicious, sweet and soft. We also got the one filled with banana, and it was a interesting experience. I didnt hate it, I didnt love it. They have a looot of options, and the donut average price is 4usd.

Service was so fast and the donuts were so yummy. A good variety. They dont do dozens or half dozens so each piece is individual. Its hard to chose which one but they do have minis! And the coffee was awesome. Covid safe and limit the amount of people allowed inside, so you may have to wait on the sidewalk.

My wife and I were visiting Seattle from Tucson AZ! For the longest time I was searching for a pineapple fritter, it might have been a coincidence or fate but this place opened on Oct 10, and we we’re around a week later (Oct 17 and our last day in Seattle) we immediately went to this place! Their doughnuts did not disappoint!!! The pineapple fritter was AMAZING!!! The sweetness and chunks of pineapple were a perfect balance!! On top of that, the workers were great! We had an awesome experience, and met the part owner who was very sweet and kind. Please visit this place if you’re looking for awesome people and great treats!

I visited Half & Half Doughnut on Sunday morning after walking by right before they closed earlier in the week and seeing that they have a churro doughnut and knowing I NEED THIS IN MY LIFE.I picked up 2 churro doughnuts, a georgette (cinnamon sugar twist), and a special maple pecan fritter. Needless to say, Im glad I went back as they were delicious. The churro doughnuts have a slight outer crunch, delightful cinnamon flavor, and sweet and soft inner dough texture/flavor. The georgette (cinnamon sugar twist) was good; however, Ill be abstaining from ordering one of these in the future in favor of the churro option. The maple pecan fritter was a bit more expensive; however, it was also delectable and Id highly suggest it.

I used to love this place where service and products were of equal quality. Once I even had a long conversation with the baker/owner about our German heritage. But its unfortunately not anymore possible. This past Saturday was the third time that my wife and I had to walk out of Half & Half Doughnut with a negative feeling. It was the third time that the same girl (short, dark hair/ ca. 1.30 pm) served us in a very unfriendly manner. We had a question and she rudely walked away without answering. She demonstratively ignored us and didnt even make the effort to have eye contact! We are asking management to do sth about this employee. We sadly decided that this was our last visit! We would love to come in every weekend but until this issue hasnt been resolved we cannot support this business!

The old fashioned donuts are so good. They are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The perfect texture. I havent liked the other donuts that they have. Some of the ones with filling were good, but the ratios were off and the filling a bit heavy. But the old fashioned is worth it. They have a bunch of different flavors, but theyre all good you cant go wrong. You do need to go pretty early on weekends or they might sell out. They seem to have donuts until the close on weekdays though.

Im always on the search for the best donuts around the world and Seattle is a great place to find awesome donuts. But half and half is at the top of my list in Seattle and across the world. They do not have the selection and their only true classic donut is the old fashioned which they raise to an art form. The plain vanilla is my top choice for classic donut anywhere but they have a cinnamon one, pineapple and chai one that are all amazing. But the absolute most amazing donuts they have are the filled donuts, they are bursting with flavor while maintaining a fluffy creamy intetrerior. You need to try the bananas foster and mochaccino which are true masterpieces of flavor and texture. The chocolate hazlenut is great too, its hard to go wrong there, but it is not as exciting as the others, still excellent but take a chance on the others before going with one you know you will love.Coffee is excellent as well served up from beautiful wood panneled pull espresso machines. Making this place a rare place to get the worlds best donuts with high quality espresso.

Had high hopes for the donuts, and flavors are good ideas (chai, bananas foster), but honestly they were fairly dry which is the most important part. Great toppings don’t matter if the dough is subpar. My order was around noon, and the dough was consistent across a half dozen donuts, maybe they were stale by then. I’ll try another batch again earlier in the day to see if that helps.Chai latte was great though, and look forward to trying their breakfast sandwiches.Seattle is not a great donut city, but in my opinion Seattle’s best are easily the 9th & Hennepin stall for cake and yeast style, fresh and moist chewy dough along with great glazes/jams. General Porpoise is best for filled donuts.
