Great coffee, friendly service, and bright store, Milstead & Co. is one of the better coffee shops in this city with a big coffee scene.I didnt connect with it during my first visit, but I get it a little more every time I come back. With gorgeous full wall windows and an airy space, this is not a cold place, but not particularly warm either. Well, maybe its because of the spacious yet empty space due to COVID. There is a delicate, well calculated and balanced air of serenity and congeniality in the shop. Coffee is excellent here, and I feel that the excellence comes more out of perfection than passion. I still like it a lot, but I probably wont miss it when I leave the city. The location is awesome. Right by Lake Union with plenty of places within walking distance to visit or sit down.
This place is fabulous. They have a great ever changing selection of interesting drinks. Last time I was here I got a chocolate orange cold brew (the actual name and description was much fancier). Right now its takeout only, so if you want to sit nearby youll have to sit on the narrow steps outside. Theres an incredible view of the Aurora bridge from underneath here. Its pricey but the staff is super nice, the environment is A+ and the drinks are something special.
Excellent service and even better coffee. Got an Ethiopian, which was brewed via Aeropress and it was just a perfect balance of smoothness and punch. Best cup of coffee Ive had in 2.5 days of visiting here.
Top-notch and delicious coffee quality! The spot for coffee connoisseurs to go to. The meal and dessert are also tasty. Plus, all the staff here are very accommodating and welcoming. In this location, you could easily spend an hour or two watching the world go by. Well come back and suggest my friends and a coffee shop.
This cafe is located in a beautiful part of a Seattle, right by the shores of Lake Union and under the Fremont bridge. The staff are very friendly and courteous. The coffee is excellent. The space open, vibrant and aesthetically pleasing. Had their GF biscuit which was great and an almond flat white
Great quality, light roasted coffee and super friendly staff. Best coffee I’ve had in Seattle! 🙌
OK the coffee is bomb and the cinnamon cruffin I had blew me away! Sofa King good! Wish this place was closer to my home and/or easier to find parking 😊😉
Cute place! Very close to the Fremont troll. Atmosphere was nice and staff were friendly. Had the Theo latte and asked them to add vanilla to make it sweeter. Cute design on the drink. Want to try the Golden Milk drink next time!
Tired of the Seattle Freeze infested coffee shops? Look no further! Friendly, knowledgeable coffee spots in Seattle are sometimes difficult to find. This place is exactly what Ive been searching for for the last 6 years. The baristas are incredibly welcoming, friendly, and ridiculously knowledgeable. Great selection of coffee and tea beverages and of course outrageously good pastries.
The best city coffee! With their coffee and service, this coffee shop is completely awesome every moment! Because of the taste, I still drink coffee here and the place is nice too. They also have good, polite and supportive workers. Dont miss the chance here to drink amazing coffee.
There are a few comfy chairs for lounging too. My friends and I immediately felt welcomed here. The coffees are huge and so are the baked goods.
Exceptional lattes, pour overs and a limited assortment of pastries. Probably being too cautious with the phase 3 of covid limiting to only four customers at a time, however maybe that is their actual limitation. Of course its a little expensive for the coffee, but one of the very best in town.
Great coffee, great staff, great afternoon treat. The ambience was very nice, we did not stay to drink our coffee we took it on the go, but I could see how it would be a very nice place to sit and drink your coffee and visit with friends or read. We will come back and recommend the coffee shop to everyone I know!
The best in town are the coffee and pastries. The environment and service complement the experience as a whole. The latte was delicious and my burrito for breakfast was fantastic! She enjoyed sitting outside sipping coffee on a lovely day.
One of my favorite coffee shops in Seattle. This is a good stop especially if you have people visiting from out of town. I always take them by the by the bridge, swing by the troll, and then stop by Milstead. Service is great and the coffee is always fresh. This is also a great place to study or do work, but they are only open for to-go orders at the moment.
I’m surprised this place has such amazing reviews.I purchased an iced vanilla latte asking for the largest size and I can’t believe how small it was for 6 dollars?! The taste wasn’t great either and honestly, a grande iced vanilla latte at Starbucks taste better and costs less.Unfortunate first and last experience.
A great place to sit and read a book. Lovely coffee and really nice food on offer for lunch. I am so happy that I found out about this place because the ambiance of the place is so relaxing and their staff is very accommodating!
Really great coffee. I would rate this as one of the best espresso shop I have visited. A nice, small breakfast to start the day. Nearly feels like home. Recommended!!
Super friendly baristas, excellent drinks.
Lovely little coffee shop that makes great coffee and lattes. They have soy, almond, and oat for their alternative milks and a bunch of good looking pastries for food
Great coffee (5 stars), obnoxious baristas (1 star).Just got *yelled at* by a barista trying to see the pastry options which are placed right next to the register for violating social distance of another customer. I was three feet away and three feet down. Happy to comply with all the cdc guidelines but really dont want to be screamed at on a Saturday morning while getting coffee. The scone was so not worth it.Also rearrange your store so that everything you sell comes before register!
It’s a beautiful coffee shop and they also have talented baristas. The fresh cakes and sweet treats are the perfect add-ons. We stopped here with my friends for we were craving coffee French Vanilla flavor. It tastes so good. Must try!
One of your favorite spots to visit when we are in the area. Their double foam mocha never ever fails, and the elephant ears are one of my favorites anywhere.
The baristas were very friendly and empathetic (we had a hard time finding their temporary location). The chai fog and theos mocha we got were to die for! Not to mention the best croissant of my life.. the everything croissant was flaky, rich, delicious and had a yummy cream cheese filling. Wish we had a cafe like this at home!
This little cafe in Fremont, below the Aurora Avenue is spacious and bright! Their coffees are good and I particularly loved their service! 😊
Service is excellent even when they are busy. I had a brother come into town and he asked me to go back here. Bring your appetite because portions are large. Ambience reminds me of San Diegos scene.
A five-stars satisfaction rating all the way for them. You will never be disappointed for sure!
Great coffee. Lovely good quality food. Definitely one of the best around.
Get the spanish latte! It was amazing and something I will dream about. Really cute place and super friendly baristas. The espresso was very well made.
Its one of the best places in the city. The atmosphere is fantastic with an amazing nice staff and some really great coffee!
It’s great to have three drinks in front of you on a Sunday morning. The staff is incredibly friendly and the atmosphere makes the experience even more memorable.
This is my favorite shop in Seattle. Anytime I am visiting Seattle I make a point to go here.Always friendly, great service, really delicious coffee. The location is a bonus too. Thanks Milstead!
Careful about their coffee. They do pour-overs. Coffee is delicious. Lively, bustling environment
Amazing coffee, great customer service and fantastic view during the summer! Milstead is my favorite coffee joint in Seattle.Heads up! They don’t serve decaf coffee but they have other yummy non caffeinated drinks.
Definitely a unique coffee experience. If youre into heavily customizing your drinks at Starbucks, I wouldnt recommend this place. Youre simply not going to find the options (hazelnut, caramel, etc..). Had an interesting drink called Golden Milk, which is a drink with Almond milk, turmeric, ginger, honey, paper, and vanilla (you can add in an espresso shot if you choose). From what I could tell, it seemed like a great place to work.
Fantastic atmosphere and great coffee. A must go if you’re in the Fremont area
One of my favorite coffee joints in the downtown area and probably my favorite in Fremont. Excellent bean selection and craftsmanship in every drink. Cool vibe right in the heart of Fremont. I enjoy dropping by since its by the bike trail. Only wish they allowed dogs!
The coffee is outstanding and the facility is spacious. However when I needed a napkin there were none to be found. My ham and cheese scone was served cold - two other local places warm them up, which improves the flavor a lot. Ill get coffee here if nearby but not a destination.
Great service. Great food.
Good coffee but the people working were not very friendly or helpful. When we asked for descriptions of some of the coffees we were given curt replies. More flavor syrup variety would be appreciated, too.
Great coffee. Cute shop in a nice setting across from the water in Fremont.
The food was delicious and the service was outstanding.
Best mocha for those who dont like very sweet drinks. They use dark Theo chocolate so it is decadent. Ask them not to make it very sweet.
Best coffee in Seattle, full stop. It’s actually problematic having it so close to my work because I spend more on coffee now than I ever have before. :)Staff is wonderful and the venue is always comfy and inviting.I do wish they had a few more savory pastry or breakfast options, but it’s a coffee shop so I can’t ding them for that.
One of the best coffee experiences I have had in a long time. I ordered my typical drink of a flat white and it was outstanding. From the latte art to the flavor this was one of the best Seattle coffees Ive had. Give this place a try if you havent already!
I love Milstead. The baristas are incredibly nice and friendly which isnt always the case in Seattle at an independent coffee shop. The coffee is so so good. I usually choose from the daily handwritten options for brewed coffee and Im always impressed. The space is big and full of light in the morning because of all the windows. Its normally pretty full of lap top people but I am always able to find a table to share with someone. My single gripe is they dont have oat milk or coconut milk, just almond or soy. That being said, the Theo mocha (bitter and unsweetened! who knew that was an option?) was easily the best mocha Ive ever had.
Perfect coffee shop. Rotating selections of local roast coffees, pour overs, quality espresso, delicious pastries, and top notch view of the bay. The staff was also really welcoming and friendly. Nice atmosphere for studying or a quiet date. I hope to return soon!
Great coffee. Excellent service. This place has great ambience where you can sit down & relax. Enjoy your coffee with free WiFi. You can find groups enjoying coffee & conversations. Absolutely loved the place. You get great view of the south lake union too. If you love dark chocolate then go for Theo Mocha. Loved it.
