Look no further; MBR is the best bike repair shop in the Seattle area. The folks at MBR are friendly, professional, and thorough. Their commitment to customer service is unmatched. I know that this is starting to sound like it might be a fake review, but I honestly cannot say enough good things about MBR. They manage to capture the friendly and personal vibe of a small-town bike shop despite being in the center of a large city. For some backstory: I’ve taken my e-bike to MBR a number of times over the years for tune-ups, flat fixes, and random issues. But my recent experiences with MBR really underscored how dedicated they are to doing good work and making sure that their customers are taken care of.My e-bike was stolen and later recovered. During the theft, there was significant damage to the frame. I took my bike to several different shops in the Seattle area. They all told me that my bike was “totaled”, then turned around and tried to sell me a brand new bike to replace it.MBR was the only shop that actually wanted to repair my bike instead of just throwing it away and selling me something new. They worked with the manufacturer to order a new frame, disassembled my original bike, and re-assembled everything onto the new frame. Their dedication and commitment really shone through when the electronics had some issues after re-assembly. Instead of giving up, they worked with the manufacturer to diagnose and resolve the issue, and finally returned my bike to me fully-restored and functional.Throughout the entire process, they were up-front about what was happening and how much it would cost to repair, and proactively kept me up to date as they went through the repair process. I have honestly never had another experience quite like it — MBR is on another level when it comes to their professionalism and customer service. As long as they’re in business, I will be a devoted customer for life.
Best.service.ever.These peeps have it down. They are fast, efficient, do great work, and they will find a way to help you out in an emergency. I live and work Downtown, and this is my go-to bike repair.
This wasn’t too far from where I live, so decided to come here for an overdue tune up. I bought my bike a year ago used and never brought it in for an initial check up, so you can imagine it needed a lot of work.Only a couple hours in the shop and the bike came out looking and riding like new! Feels like a totally new bike. Jesse was really helpful in letting me know what needed to he replaced and worked on and called as soon as he was finished. Think this will be my go to bike shop now :)
I made an appointment for residential service and could not be happier. Jesse was fast, communicated well via text, and got me sorted out in no time. Highly recommend!
Great experience, very friendly staff and reasonable prices. They recommended what I needed and did not try to sell me unnecessary improvements. Found my bike shop.
Incredibly rude shop owner who trashes customer components and threatens them with police for complaining.
Incredibly rude shop owner who broke my components and then threatened to call the police.
Jesse is the best!!! Feel like he gave me a brand new bike after my residential tune-up! My bike didnt even ride this well when I first bought it!? HAHAa! Thank you!!! Thank you!--MBR can come to you for contactless bike tune-ups. Its a game changer. Sending lots of friends your way, MBR!
Due to social distancing I was without a choice to have my bike repaired by a mobile bike mechanic. Jess arrived promptly at my location and was able to repair/tune up my bike within an hour! Price was reasonable and I would highly recommend! Thanks again!
I was double charged today. Last Thursday, I stopped by for a flat tire repair. The owner checked the tire and said it was fine and recommended a tube replacement, which I gladly paid for ($27). The next morning, the tire was flat, but I did not need the bike until today. It was clear that it was NOT the tube that was the problem, so I stopped by today at lunch and asked the owner if I could get a discount and get it repaired properly this time. He said, it really depends on what the problem is and he needed to see the bike for himself - which seemed fair enough. So my wife helped me bring the bike back to the the shop in my car and he took a look. Sure enough, he found a problem with the tire and recommended a new tire. Again, I agreed, but when I saw the final bill it was $50 and he had charged me for another new tube. I asked for a discount and he said he could give me a friends and family discount of $2. Why on earth do I have to pay for another new tube and labor when he messed up and missed the root cause of the problem (the tire) in the first place? I should have only been charged for the replacement tire ($25)I will not be returning and will be telling my workmates to either avoid this shop or discuss the bills in advance*Update after owner reply*I saw a $2.00 discount, not a 25% discount on my $50.58 bill. I certainly would not have written this review had I received a 25% discount. Is that what you meant to give me?
I had a broken shifter cable but lacked the tools to do the job. MBR had my bike back to me the next day for a good price. Id bring my bike in again for future work.
Great guys at the shop, took care of me when I needed a couple little parts and didnt even charge me. They had a good variety of parts and accessories.
Took my bike in last minute today for assembly and Jesse was superb. Very knowledgeable and genuinely kind. Great shop! Highly recommend checking in out.
Poorly run & rude customer interaction.I dropped off for a 20-30min brake fix & was told I’d get a call about cost and total work needed by end of day. I didnt. Prior to leaving i was told it was a light week. After 48 hrs and 2 calls to check in, no word.Recommendation: dont leave without getting full scope of work, cost & timeline of completion.
Did a quick little stop by this place, seems pretty reasonable on prices. Talk to a rookie on bike repairs he answered Pretty much all my questions With very little help from Jesse(Store owner) I think his name might’ve been. I just needed a pedal loosen because it was too damn tight. Put my old Flat pedal back on, Bad idea! Put the racing cleat back on The next day. This bike shop is so small its very easily missed needs a sidewalk sign. Maybe a neon light on the window!
The guys at MBR are knowledgeable and really helpful. They went out of their way to make sure my tune-up and headset installation were taken care of. Definitely would revisit and recommend!
I actually stopped by here about a year ago when I had some issues with my new bike during a ride from Fremont to Downtown. The two employees at MBR stopped what they were doing as soon as I walked in to help me. They were able to fix the peddle issues I was having and even pointed out my fork was on backwards (first time putting a bike together on my own. Wont make that mistake again) and reversed the fork for me.The best part is that since I didnt need any new parts, they did not charge me. I bought a few small items to help support the business and departed.Im glad I stopped by and Im glad they were so helpful and didnt treat me like a fool for messing up my first assembly.I dont live in the area, so its unlikely Ill be back any time soon (I am reviewing my only visit from a year ago, after all), but I would recommend MBR to any of my friends who live in Seattle.
These guys are great! I recently purchased a bike from them. they were honest and open about pricing and very welcoming--they even let me store my bike at the shop overnight to pick it up a day later than I said I could. Definitely recommend.
Great work from a great bike mechanic. So glad I chose to go through mobile bike rescue. I have a very difficult time getting my bike in my car so it was even better that they came to me. Thanks so much!
Great company. They picked up my bike and turned it around with full service in the same day. As an everyday bike commuter, I find their service extremely valuable.
Jesse and his team at MBR are great technicians and knowledgeable for all things bikes related. Go for a tune up, a flat, a new bike or a fitting. Worth a stop in if you need some work done.
Great place, quick service, very polite staff! Convenient: I dropped off my bike at the beginning of the work day for a tune-up and picked it up at the end of the work day. Took ~ 5min of my time total.
One star for a lousy (and expensive) repair job. Walked in for a flat tire repair only to find out that the thorn that caused the flat tire in the first place was left inside the tire. Sure enough, the tire went flat again *the next day* causing an unnecessary trip to the shop, this time another one (Greggs) that made the repair for less than half the cost. They have a great location and a friendly atmosphere, but I am really disappointed with my experience.
Great bike shop! Very friendly and personal staff who care about their customers and their work. I took my bike to their shop on 9th and Stewart, but they do mobile work as well. Would recommend!
Jessie picked up my bike from a downtown location, texted me with the proposed work once he had a look at it in the shop. He gave it a tune up and replaced a few items, returned it to me within 3 hours, in time for my commute home. Friendly, easy to work with, fun guys. Email invoicing, bada-bing and were done. Highly recommend. They also do roadside rescue without judgment!
One of the worst experiences Ive ever had with a bike shop. I brought my bike in because i need a new crank and bottom bracket. The first day I got it back all the chainring bolts fell out on my ride home. After getting it back that same day I tried riding it home again with in two block from the shop I was having shifting problems. Every time I took my bike back to MBR I got it back with a new problem. Mobil Bike Rescue messed up my bike so bad I lost my job as a messenger.
These guys are great, super convenient, and very thourough. Outstanding service.
Just asked to barrow a starhead driver, said they have to charge me for the work.. thanks you helping a fellow biker in need.
Highly knowledgeable staff & excellent service
Very friendly staff. Good service.
Friendly, fair fellows who know their stuff!
