Best local bike shop in Seattle! You can find fantastic deals on used bikes and parts here with outstanding service and knowledgeable, competent staff to help you. Kellen built me a custom bike 8 years ago and he is still there to help me with my new bike today. Bike works provides a terrific service to our community, every city needs a shop like this one.

I paid almost $400 to have a secondhand bike get a major overhaul service here, but unfortunately the results were not great. The repair tech seemed to have cut several corners and failed to install even the simple things properly. For example, cable end tips were missing, handlebar tape was not installed correctly, shifting was not dialed in, frame cleaning was minimal, and they replaced a spoke but left a loose spoke nipple rattling around on the INSIDE of the rim, which I had to fish out myself. On top of that, they did not replace bad rim tape, which ended up causing me 3 flats during my first ride on this overhauled bike. However, they did make me pay extra for a chain replacement... (I had checked it with a chain wear indicator guage prior to dropping off and it was NOT due yet, so thats interesting...). The only thing that really seemed to have been done correctly were the wheel hubs and bottom bracket, which can be difficult so Ill give them credit for that. Overall though, pretty disappointed in the quality of the services performed.

You know, I want to love this place. But they just charged $35 to change a spoke, and they somehow replaced it with a silver one on an all black wheel. What the heck? To top it off, I had to read my credit card information through an open window within earshot of all of the other customers in line. I understand covid19 stuff, but for real, get a credit card machine and hand it out side already.

Jim, Bike Works Program Coordinator, is a gem. I saw the Mobile truck today and asked if he could work on my derailer, he assured me that he could. I brought my bike back and he fixed my issue and made sure my bike was safe to ride. The service that Jim provided was professional, skilled, and friendly. I would highly recommend this bike shop and Jims services!

Awesome little bike shop. Nothing about them is little though. Youd find accessories and parts everywhere you look. I was able to find everything I needed for my bike and some more. I got lights, gloves and chain lube. I was in and out in like 8 minutes. One of the guys who worked there was super nice and helpful. It seems like they sell and repair everything bike related. I will be back for more bike goodies.

If you need a bike. Go here. These folks are friendly, down to earth, and all about getting you on a bike that works for you. They are unabashedly all about increasing cycling safely and with joy.I have never felt judged here. They take amazing care of everyone from the barest beginner, to the hobby bike builder, to those seeking burner bikes, to the professional racing cyclist. And each purchase funds their programs to spread their love and knowledge of cycling and bicycle building and repair. They sell mostly refurbished bikes from donation at extremely reasonable prices. But you can also get lights, parts, gloves, and helmets here. They have welcoming and useful classes, earn a bike program for kids, and open workshop times for a small fee so folks can use tools and someone is there for advice.Cannot recommend enough.I have gotten a commuting bike here and 2 bikes for Burning Man that have gone and come back strong. They also give me advice and teach me something every time I come in.This place is good for community, product, and customers. Best use of your money. Go. Here.

Drove down here to buy a used kids bike. On the website it says pick up in store only. So I get here and they say there is a 48 hour turnaround to receive the bike and you must buy it on the website, but their website didnt let me do that, at all. Why make it more complicated than need be to buy a 50$ used bicycle? Am I buying a new car here?

Had an absolutely wonderful experience here. I came in looking for a particular bike for my large size and they gave me an array of options to try out and even took some bikes out of their storage for me. Even though I didnt make a purchase at the end, all of the staff were helpful, polite and enthusiastic. If youre looking for a great LBS that is truly community focused (they are a non-profit), then I highly recommend this humble shop to all riders with all needs and experience levels.

I came in with my old mountain bike of 16 years to see if it was worth repairing. They looked it over and told me that if I kept the bike a little longer,I would find it wheels up and dead in my storage. They showed me bikes that just came in and I picked out a couple to test. I only had a really small budget and could not get the high end bikes there. They came thru with a bike that fit me great and was in my price range. That was three months ago,and have been going there for things ever since.I have put over a 164 miles my bike and plan to put a hole lot more with the help of this shop. Great staff and they love what they do and show it. Seattle needs places like this all over because I would recommend these guys to every who owens a bike to come in and get the help they need. Thank you for the opportunity to share my great experience.
