My gf and I stopped to grab some coffee in San Marcos for a few minutes and came out to a car w a dead battery. Needless to say we were in need of a jump start! Well we didn’t have cables so I stopped the nearest stranger (the business owner of sur-powr as it turns out) and asked for a jump start. They kindly stopped everything they were doing to pull up and hook up their jumper cables and give our car life! This is the kind of generous character we need these days, I imagine that their kindness and hospitality carry over into all aspects of their life. SUPPORT THESE GUYS!!!

Dont waste your time going anywhere else. Andrew was great. There was no wait, my battery was in stock, and it only took about 10 minutes. It was less expensive than any of the other places I went the last two days. Go local!

I have dealt with a lot of businesses over the years and these guys are one of the best. I have purchased two sets of golf cart batteries from them. Prices were good but the service is awesome! They reconditioned one set of batteries for me and didnt even charge me for it. I cant say enough about the customer care.Sure you can find a battery at Walmart but if you have a problem with it, who is going to back you up? Why not go to an expert, get a great product and great service to boot?

Came in from autozone because they told me my battery was messed up these guys took 5 minutes tightened up a few bolts and told me the battery was perfectly fine. Didn’t even charge for the service. Great guys up here will definitely return when I actually need work done

We had an unusual occurrence during our trip home from spending the winter in Texas. The brake assist mechanism on our motorhome drained the battery on the car that we were towing. We assumed the battery was defective. We went to sure-powr and they did multiple tests on the battery, cleaned the terminals, checked all the contacts and told us there was the battery was fine. They didn’t charge us anything. If you have a battery problem I highly recommend them!!

I had a battery that kept dying so I looked up cheap batteries in San Marcos as was very happy to find it so close to where I lived and that Martin and Kyle were very friendly and made sure my new battery was installed quickly and working well!

We have gotten several sets (6 batteries) of the Crown Deep Cycle golf cart batteries from Sur-Powr. Even though these are a little more expensive, these have definitely been the best batteries that we have used and we have gone through many. They also come with a 2 year warranty, but we have yet to use it. The guys as Sur-Powr have always been quick to get back to us and taken care of. Highly recommend--go see them!

Apparently since the last time I bought a battery (long time ago), the price of lead went up - so did the price of bateries! for a 2001 Toyota corolla, the big stores wanted 77.00 + tax etc. for the cheapest battery, they charged me 59.00 with the same warranty. I recommend them - they installed it for free.

This is the only place to get a new battery in San Marcos that will not hose you! It is locally owned, which might make you think that theyre more expensive, but theyre NOT!!! They are at least HALF the cost of auto-zone and Walmart. Ive gone to get my battery replaced there twice and sent at least 3 other people there. Not a single time has Sur-Powrs service been lacking. The guy who runs it is really nice and friendly, will explain absolutely anything you want to know, and has a better warranty on his batteries than his competitors. 10/10, 100%, A+ service every time.

If you have any potential battery trouble, forget AutoZone, Walmart or anyone else. This family owned business is cheaper than anyone by at least 25% and you get that small town feel in the service that they provide so freely.

I came to Sur-Power after another store told me my battery was dead and I had to buy a new one for $135. The staff at Sur Power double checked and told me that the battery was never charged at the other store and they were trying to pull a quick one on me. Sur power charged it up for me free of charge. Its really nice to find some good honest people. I will return for all my battery needs.

I would highly recommend this locally owned place. As a college student, who drives a 2011 Ford Mustang, I was shocked after recieving quotes from places like Autozone and Oreily I found out that they were the cheapest and most convenient place. Dont let the price fool you though, these batteries are guaranteed for one year and work really good. They are real friendly and even offered to clean all the corossion the previous battery had left.

The folks at Sur-Powr Battery are fantastic. If you are looking for knowledgeable, friendly, and honest service, do yourself a favor and bring your battery problems to Sur-Powr. I have purchased two batteries from Sur-Powr so far. Both were cheaper than Wal-Mart and came with better or comparable warranties. And if you dont actually need a new battery, they will let you know. I have stopped in on a few occasions when I had trouble starting my car (its old), and they have always offered to test the battery thoroughly before talking about replacements. When my battery tested OK, they even suggested a few other possibilities to solve the problem and charged me nothing for the service (which I did not expect, but very much appreciated). As long as I live in Central Texas, I will go to Sur-Powr for my auto batteries. You should too!

My car was having trouble starting, and dying while idling if I didnt give it some gas. Id self diagnosed as the battery dying (multimeter across the terminals read 10.5V when car is off, and after starting the reading went up to 14V, so alternator seemed ok and I could drive around on it).Walmarts battery was $100 (+tax) and 2 year warranty. Sams Club was $100 (+tax) and 3 year. Sur-Powr was also $100, including tax, and was 3 year with 2 years prorated.Employee who was working, last name Cox, was really friendly, honest, and thorough with checking the battery (actually measuring the acidity of each cell). I was in and out in about 15 minutes.Would recommend this to friends and family for sure.
