Music Village is a terrific music store: instruments, sheet music and supplies for musicians. One of my favorite things about this store is they keep a record of your purchases. I lost my musicians earplugs and wasnt sure what size to buy. They had it in my purchase history. Voila!
Great place to buy or get your musical instruments repaired. We get lessons there too. Weve been going there since 2016.
Good selection of music books and excellent customer service!
This place is amazing!!! They clean, fix, and remove dents for really cheap, and are really nice. I love this place!
Well stocked musical instrument store, good band instrument rental rates, well informed friendly staff and great ukulele selection.
The staff are friendly and helpful. Theyre well stocked, and will order something if they dont have it. I love going there!
Great to see that Music Village is still open. Great staff, lots of sheet music, instruments and novelty items. They do repairs and have many music teacher referrals. So many music stores are closing and at a time when music is so important as a therapy for the homebound. Go there and buy something! Collaborate with people, get kids involved, and make music videos! Keep music alive!
My family loves Music Village. They have a very wide variety of instruments that they know very well and also service. They do instrument rentals, too. Everyone is very helpful and the customer service is the best. Everything youd expect from a neighborhood store. Thank you so much for everything over the years!
Great place to get an honest answer and music repairs
Always friendly staff. Im able to find the products I need. I have a pianist and a saxophone player in the family. Great store!
When dealing directly, the gentleman at the counter was cool. However, overall customer service could improve. I came into the store and stood second in line behind a customer who needed some repairs on 2 instruments. No big deal, that is what they do. I think though to be efficient they may want to ask if anyone in line has an item they want to pay for quickly and leave. Instead, the string replacement proceeds with folks in line. After that repair was done I walked up assuming to be next. Nope, instead another customer was motioned to go ahead of me because they were in the store first. Not in line first, but in the store browsing first. Never knew until now this is how it works. Come in and browse and when you are done you go ahead of any customer in line so long as you came into the store before them. On the positive note, large inventory and staff was very helpful retrieving and holding my book in front for easy pickup access.
Helpful staff. Good vibe. Massive selection of sheet music books and I saw books on topics like electronic music production. One wing of the store is a music school.
Wide range of music books for all levels and instruments. I havent needed the instrument rental or repair services, but they work with so many schools in the valley. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Will always try to order through them rather than a certain online retailer because I want this local business to thrive!
Nice place. Great selection and friendly staff. They have just about everything a musician could need. :-)
I really like this place. Its the quintessential local business, with unpretentious people who know their trade and are there to help
These people do good work and offer excellent customer service. Even when they dont have an answer, they take the time to find out and research it. Support your local businesses!
I love this place cause I took clarinet and sax lessons here as a kid. More recently, they were my sole source for Hohner Weekender harmonicas...which I needed to earn money to survive. At such an amazing price, too! Great customer service. If I ever needed and they were out of stock...theyd call the other store to look...even reorder and notify me when it arrived...just left my name and number...theyd follow through every time.
My son wants to start learning guitar and my family had an older guitar that needed new strings. Eesha at Music Village was incredibly helpful at helping us determine what strings would work best for my son in that he was just going to start learning. Most impressively, she was able to restring the guitar while we perused all the musical offerings the store has to offer. Eesha even cleaned the guitar up after restringing it! The price of the new strings and service fee of getting it restrung were also very reasonable.
Never been here but when guitar center was closed, so i decided to come & might come regularly now. staff is really nice & helpful, they also have a great selection in everything especially books.
Jet is excellent to work with!.
The individuals operating the store were friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful!
I completely trust these guys with my guitars. Caleb has done incredible set up and repair work for me for years. I play aggressively and my guitars stay in tune perfectly. Hes a musician as well and understands how to make guitars perform at their best.
Good service, nice .
I go to music lessons here. It is a great place to shop for many common instruments and to learn them.
Best music books place around here
Nice people
My go-to place for buying/renting musical instruments and/or classes.
When I returned to piano playing a few years ago I struggled to find sheet music and pedagogic books because Santa Cruz musicians tend to play guitars and drums, and the local music stores fulfill their reasonable demands . . . but not mine! So, Google came to the rescue and led me to this little shop hidden away in San Jose . . . and I do mean hidden. Once you find it, youll not go anywhere else because theyve got the best inventory in the Bay Area and if youre looking for something they dont happen to have (they have two stores, so its unlikely) theyll be more than happy to order it for you.The store staff is very friendly, very helpful and I sometimes stop in just to browse and chat. Ive found some unique music that way.Dont miss this place!
What a selection and thier programs for new students are great
Very friendly and helpful folks. wide range of instruments.
I just got the best mouthpiece by Fred Rast. Hi quality, pro mouthpiece. Best decision Ive made. Thank you so much 🙏🏻
Great music store. You can buy or rent instruments, get sheet music and learning books, and get instruments fixed. Its great!
Bought a Kala tenor ukulele from Music Village. Extremely knowledgeable and awesome service! I highly recommend them.
They always seem to have what i need and staff is helpful.
Many years ago I used to dread going to the guitar store something which doesnt sound quite right even to this day. At the time the only SHOWCASE in town was a shop that seemingly had everything except for manners and appreciation of their customers. That is of course unless you were somebody who was going to spend thousands of dollars at a time then you were considered to be worthy of their store. I got fed up with the store so much that I began to search for other stores in the area because I just couldnt consciously give them my business anymore. Living in South San Jose at time I was absolutely shocked to discover that there was a music store right around the corner from where I lived. Music Village on Santa Teresa Road was an absolute breath of fresh air. As soon as I walked through the door I was not only greeted immediately but treated like I had been a customer for years. With just enough selection to keep you interested but not so much to make your head spin in circles the store offered something very unique and very rare. The warmth and helpfulness of everyone who worked at the store was just amazing. I was in absolute shock at the different feel that the store had. Years later when I moved to Santa Clara I discovered that they had a second shop on Foxworthy. Once again walking into that store not only was I greeted and treated like a human being but it was also nice to see some of the same faces that had adorned the other store on Santa Teresa. I cannot say enough about these stores and the people that run them. If you are a student of music beginner or otherwise or a musician looking for a store that will cater to your needs with dignity and respect then you couldnt possibly find two better stores. I have never regretted a purchase from either one of these stores not once. I have never once felt like I was giving my money to some big business that could care less whether I buy something from them or not nor have I been treated badly because I decided not to buy something that day. These stores are great and they contain something that has so very much been lost. The warmth of good people. Not only do I feel a tremendous amount of loyalty towards Music Village but I also feel almost indebted to them for not only helping me throughout the years but for making me feel welcome and putting up with my needs and wants. I believe the word is gratitude.Thank you to everyone and for everything.Sincerely, John Silvers
Great shop with really friendly staff, highly recommend!
I love music village. Every is so friendly and helpful. I bought my son a beginner alto saxophone for his band class :)
Epitome of a neighborhood mom-and-pop shop, serving the communitys needs with all sorts of instruments and services. We are REALLY glad they are around.
Very knowledgeable on the latest in trombone grease, which is what we needed. It gets a little hectic at the beginning of the school year, but they were very helpful.
I recently rented a flute for my son. My son tried the flute at the store and it seemed ok. My son came home and practiced it and it had problem. We went back and they tried to repair. My son went to the class and the Flute teacher said that the Flute is leaking and asked us to return it. I rented it on Sat. and returned it on Monday. The still charged even though we mentioned that the flute was bad.DO NOT RENT FLUTE FROM HERE. Also they charge very high for repair charges. I compared our sons flute for repair between their shop and another shop. They were expensive by $200.I will neve go back there.
Its a great place to shop for music books, instrument rentals, lessons, repairs and MORE!
Super helpful and friendly staff.
Has a huge stock of woodwind instruments and accessories. They have it all, and it makes shopping for all the things my kids need for their band instruments that much easier!
Great service and selection. The repair service is also excellent.
