They have a decent inventory, but the staff think they know more than they actually do.Check out everything for yourself. Dont take their word for anything, including whether or not the guitar effects run on battery vs adapter.You might end up buying a unit that needs an adapter that no one sells, including them.Return hassle to follow...

Good location to serve south/east SJ, theres a larger drums section at the Stevens creek Santa Clara store but plenty of gear and services are available at this location like any other.

I recently ordered a guitar online from them . Delivery was 3-5 business days. After 12 days I still havent received it. When I called into one of the guitar centers and learned my guitar is already on a world tour from one warehouse to another. And they were not sure when the world tour ends. So they recommended to cancel this order and place a new order!!!! And theres no gauranty that will arrive in 3-5 days either. So cancelled the order!!!

Even though one of the employees (Carlos V) was giving me a hard time today when selling two high end drum kits at a price the manager agreed to, the manager stepped in and made sure to honor the price. However, the employee was still doing everything possible in his power to pay me a way lower price from what was initially agreed. Yet he did not even know how drum tuning works. He kept finding excuses like not including Tom holders for drums that don’t come with Tom holders. Small scratches that were already expected from a used kit. Little things like dust and low tuning on the bass drum were reasons for him to lower the price the manager said I was going to get paid for the kits. We were going well just that I needed to get some ID from home, a 45 minute drive, and the second time I came with the ID, another 45 minute drive, the employee Carlos V was doing everything possible to not buy the kits anymore. Wow! Maybe he did not like that I was getting paid and not him that Thursday afternoon.However, the reason I give it 2 stars and not less is that he finally end up doing what the manager said and the manager apologized to me for the unnecessary trouble from the employee Carlos V.

This store is awesome, it has plenty of guitars and amps and lots of speakers, PA systems, keyboards, microphones and they give music lessons.

Generally speaking I have never had a good experience at guitar center. Earlier this year I went to a different guitar center and I had a terrible experience where I was harassed by one of the employees and the manager did nothing to help. I have sense avoided that location. Recently I went to this location to pick up an order. Everything was going fine until one of the employees looked at something on the computer, turn to the other employee who was helping me and said look at this. After that all of the staffs attitude toward me changed and they became dismissive and unhelpful. This leads me to believe that the employees at the previous guitar center location must have put a note in my account about the experience I had there and most likely turn the situation around to make it look like it was my fault. Because of this I will most likely not ever go shopping at any other guitar center location. It is mildly stalkerish and terrifying to think that anytime I go into any guitar center location theres going to be a note on the computer talking about what a terrible person I am.

Bought a new Seagull acoustic - electric. Drove up because guitars are pricier where I live 3 hours south. Place was packed but their staff hustled and got it done.

I sold my guitar there for 350 best choice but i also really loved how they had everything u need there🤩 i was about to spend the money that i just got there LOL 😂

Was helped by a very knowledgeable young man who sadly was leaving his job there in a few days. We talked about microphones, podcasting and the local scene. Thanks for the pleasant and informative retail experience....you were an asset to this private equity owned monstrosity of a music store. In my opinion, music stores need a soul. This one does not. They did, however, have what I needed and were right down the street. Crass consumerism at its finest. Ill go cry now....

In 2020, I purchased a guitar encyclopedia for me and my son, A must for song writing. Recently, I bought my son a really cool sound affects peddle, and they price matched with a closer music store, that did not have it in stock.

I would give them a 10 rating because the manager Robby is super nice and extremely helpful. The music instructor Eddy is wonderful! The tech Arbelo was so quick and nice replacing a string. Every time we walk in or call about anything everyone is so helpful and friendly. They have made my daughter’s music experience memorable. Thank you! 🎵🎸

Helpful staff, great selection! impossible to get service on the phone, but the website was helpful in figuring out what was in stock at this location. once i got to the store, the staff was very helpful in finding what i was after (i came armed with the product numbers for what i wanted to try). they brought out the boxed instrument, opened it up, and let me play as long as i wanted, and with the headphones and mini amp i brought with me. overall i had a good experience, and no pressure to buy at all. thanks guitar center!

My fiancé and I were helped by Nicholas. We had no idea what to look for, we just knew a guitar was our goal.We entered the guitar center and were overwhelmed by how much was inside. Initially we were just going to look around, see what’s out there, maybe get a guitar but weren’t really planning on it. Having Nicholas guide us through the guitar center made the buying so much easier.Nicholas was kind and courteous, he gave us space so we could think about what we wanted, but also checked up on us to ensure that our questions were answered.Personally, I was a vocalist and but still knew very little about guitars and my fiancé knew about the same as me. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Covid protocals are in place here, so you cant just pick up and play an instrument- a staff member will help you! I will definitely return for more gear.

Came in with a used guitar, got a good price for it and bought a better guitar. The associate pointed it out to me (it was hidden behind a speaker). I forgot his name, but he and all the crew there have always been very helpful to me.

Went here for the first time yesterday and had a good experience. The employees were super helpful and showed me what I asked for right away. The guys I dealt with were also understanding and were friendly to my toddler son who is only 3. Ended up buying more because it was a nice first experience, Ill definitely be back!

Most excellent! In and out in no time. Greeted a the door and shown the way. I came over to pick up an order. Was directed to a sales rep who took about two minutes to get my order ready. I mean. Wow! I came a few minutes shy of closing time and was afraid not to get attended to. Not disappointed at all. Definitely one of my best experiences in a music store. They had curve side pick up and sanitation stations all over. Big bright orange arrows all throughout the store tell you exactly how to observe safe distance with other customers. Store was clean and organized. Thumbs up!

Clean Store, decent selection could do alot better. Most employees are friendly but john was a little pushy for my liking. Was a little hesitant to ask questions so ended up leaving disapointed and empty-handed. Other employees were not very knowledgeable in what i was looking for. Needs improvement.

The staff at the Almaden Guitar Center have always been incredibly friendly and helpful. Robby helped me earlier today with a large return, and was very courteous and professional throughout the whole process. It looks like business has been ramping back up for them, which is great. I hope they stick around for a long time to come.

Typical big box music store. I was warmly greeted by a busy employee at the front door, but thats about the only part of my visit that made me feel welcome. When I asked about basses in stock at the front counter, the guy said something like, what we have over there is what we have. I looked. They didnt have much. I walked out. Going to take my business back to Santa Cruz, where I was treated personally and honestly by the staff at a small, locally owned, long-established institution of fine musical instruments. If Guitar Center wants my business, I suggest they hire staff with a passion not just for music, but for good customer service. Also, paying their employees a living wage with career benifits would be a great way to attract such talent. Not saying they dont, but it certainly didnt seem that way.

My family and I love this store. Our son is playing 3 instruments (classical guitar, bass guitar and piano) and we come here for all our music needs. The store is well laid out and offers a lot more than guitars. Check them out if you (or your children) want to learn a new instrument or if you need to replace an existing one. The staff is very knowledgeable and will help you finding the right one!

I went in because I wanted a better quality PA system. I previously got the harbinger PA system because it was very affordable but after about a month of using it i realized it was a waste of money because of the low quality. When i went into this store The manager pointed out two good quality sets. They were significantly more expensive but i can happily say it was well worth the price i spent on them. They gave me the option to finance the purchase so making a big purchase wasnt a big deal for my wallet!! So thankful for this opportunity and the options that the associates gave me to make this purchase possible.

We came to buy a talking drum . When asking questions the guy with the semi long boy band haircut was very rude . We are a drum team and will not be back here .

Good experience with customer service, My husband loves instruments. Mostly the guitar because it is the only one he plays well. We came to chance the his guitar strings and they are able to do it for you in the spot would just take about 30 to 45 min. In that period of time waiting we were able to talk to other associates about recommendations on guitar. Which was provided. Once the guitar strings where changed, we were able to lay for a good price of $90 including new strings and polishing the guitar.

The staff at Guitar Center consistently go above and beyond the call of duty and their job description. Managed to get in after closing to make a last-minute purchase a few weeks ago because I was redirected from the Stevens Creek location. This particular store carries a lot of interesting and diverse used gear, and their regular stock is very up-to-date with their catalog. Spot on lads!

I was looking all over for a particular guitar for a gift, they had it in stock, helped me purchase online as I was in So Cal and drive up the next day to pick it up. Join was particularly helpful with the order.

Pathetic experience going to this store. The sales managers are not customer friendly. One of the store managers offered me a discount on a product. I came back to the store the next week and there was a different store manager. I told him that I’m going to buy the product now and it would be great if I could still get the discount. He painted a liar colour on me saying no one in the store would have offered a discount. What kind of store would accuse a prospective customer as a liar? I was even ready to purchase the product without a discount but I walked out of the store and bought the product from another store.

Amazing instruments,Amazing instructors for beginners,Terrible staff at the Lesson Center.None of the staff team seemed to actually care about the quality of what they call lessons.Its a shame some unprofessional staff members ruin customer experience with their rude attitudes. It makes everything not worth it.Every month most staffs change, which is not a surprise.Im really sad for the lesson center at this place. Im going to discourage my colleagues from using this one on Stevens Creek.

Went into try martin and taylor guitars budget $1500 to $ 2500 asked to unlock only 2 were kept wait for 30 minutes finally gave up when I walked out of those rooms they were veryhelpful to girl looking for her first $250 guitar only 3 cars in parking lot.

It was okay. Seemed a little unorganized. And it didnt have as greatest selection as I had hoped for. Its nothing like the old Guitar Showcase...

Im no Spring Chicken, but these guys made me feel that if I really wanted to, I could be a Rock Star! The representatives were very helpful, knowledgable, and informed. This is typical of Guitar Centers Ive visited in other cities and locations. This is a great location, large variety of acoustic guitars (my interest) and inviting personalities to make you want to return.

Always love getting to take a trip to GC. Walking in the doors still gives me that thrill I would get as a teenager filled with nothing more than dreams of one day owning any one of the treasure within.The staff, as is true with most Guitar Centers, is helpful and friendly, and their inventory has a wide array of selection for whatever music-related product you might be in search of. Parking has never been a problem. Prices are great. You can buy online and have things not normally available in the store, shipped to this store for your to pick up as well!

Do yourself a favor and go to this location, not the Santa Clara location. Employees are prompt to help and genuinely seem like they want too. I get the opposite reaction from the Santa Clara store.

This store is well-organized and completely stocked. The one thing that I noticed was how friendly and helpful the staff was. Id recommend this business for any of your musical needs.

But without my having to ask, the manager made it worth my time. Also the staff were helpful and knowledgeable.

Very rude young lady in keyboard area. knew absolutely nothing about products, inventory, or any questions i had for her about using Guitar Centers website. I believe she was just sent over to get me to stop playing the keyboards on display. Probably because I was just dressed in work clothes and didnt look like a buyer even though I was. That shows more about the management than her individually. Theres plenty other places to go buy musical equipment. It doesnt pay to judge a book by its cover.

Love guitar center. as a drummer its nice to be able to go in and actually demo equipment instead of getting an interpretation of someones perception. downside....staff is young and inexperienced.

I just got my 2004 Gibson SG back from their guitar tech, Josiah, after dealing with a crackl-y volume pot. I dont have enough good things to say about the work that he, and the rest of the team do there! I will be going back with my other guitars to have custom work done soon. A great staff all around. It gets busy, but when its your turn for help, theyve got me covered.

Maybe i had bad luck but if you ordered online & chose to ship the order to the store for curbside pickup i suggest actually going into the store to tell them your here for curbside pick up, waited for 20+ minutes :-)

On the plus side, lots of instruments and some really cool resources are available. You can rent gear, and try out just about anything.Unfortunately, getting help was really tough on our visit. We spent a lot of time waiting around looking for employees. We walked away from drum kits because we needed some help getting wiring adjusted but gave up. Similarly we bought the wrong MIDI controller, which we couldve avoided if we couldve found a staff member to assist. My fault, I guess for not doing the extensive research online beforehand.Theres also nearly a complete lack of left handed guitars. There are a few hundred guitars in this store and I found zero decent acoustic or hollowbody lefty guitars. I believe we found 5 lefties total. Just a bummer. Maybe they were tucked away somewhere that we couldnt find... again, no staff available for inquiry.I wouldve cleared some of this up at check out, but we ended up waiting in line about 15-20 minutes to check out, stuck behind someone returning a product, and someone returning a massive rental gear set. By the time we were checking out (and thanks to our cashier engaged in a conversation with the person behind me during our transaction), I was pretty much ready to GiveMoney.ReceiceGoods.Three stars as I had a pretty unfortunate visit but if I were a right I probably would be loving a new guitar right now. Great selection for non-South Paws and players of other instruments.

This store is perfectly placed between the other San Jose store and the Gilroy store while providing the comfort of a smaller store with the selection of a larger one. I love the format, layout and new lessons area (other San Jose store is less appealing). Ill be coming back here often.

Disappointed with this stores customer service...asked for assistant to buy an item with price tag attached, sales man scanned the price and told me that tag dose not belong to the item. All he did was pulling the tag off.He switched the price tag without apologizing or offering to honnor the price...

My husband took his bass in for a possible frequency interference in the sound. Alex helped us from the repairs department. He played it in three different ways and on a few different amps to try and figure out the problem. He asked a lot of questions, which made it seem like he was helping but Im not sure if he knew what he was looking for or talking about. Tommy however was pretty handsy, he was another employee that came up while Alex was testing the bass and just started playing and admiring the instrument. He would also pluck strings in between Alexs explanations. I appreciate Tommys passion for music but it would be nice if he learned some more professional boundaries and kept his hands off customers instruments or at least asked first. But what do you expect from the quality of staff? Overall they couldnt help us because they couldnt figure out the problem and stated several times if it aint broke, dont fix it. We asked about the strings as well because we were looking for new ones. We wanted to explore different sizes. Alex offered to tell us which ones we already had on the instrument which he could do with a tool at his desk. However the tool wouldnt work and he gave is his best guess. Overall the store is very well organized, clean, with a brand new feeling. The employees are eager to help and touch your instruments whenever they get the chance though their knowledge is limited . Its ok, though we might seek a second more professional opinion for any future sound problems for our electric bass/guitars.
