I was very disappointed by my experience at the Apple store on Chestnut Street. There were lots of staff but i was left waiting (even though I had an appt) without anyone telling me how long I would have to wait until being seen. There were no available replacement devices in the store at all, so I needed to sit and buy another product at a different store on the website and then drive to Union Sq. to pick it up. Honestly, the service at Chestnut Street was poor and without any supplies, it isnt really much of a store right now...
Great customer service you can buy electronics there that day in person store customers are really happy there you can trade in your old devices and recycle them which is very nice of them
💥 Staff was very helpful. Happily let me stay past close so that my new iPhone could finish set up.***Tip: if you make a Genius Bar appointment and think that you might need to get a new phone as well—make both a Genius Bar appointment and a reservation to buy something. They’re different! Thankfully they found someone that had time to help me out just before close, but it would have been a pain to come back at a later date.
Why do they have SFPD stationed just outside the door? Are they private security for one of the richest companies in the world? Thats not why I pay taxes!
Staff are helpful, my son needed a new screen, the price was reasonable and it only took an hour. Saw many products that look like something Id use. Not a customer yet but seriously thinking about it. My daughter has an iPhone and my son has one too. The customer service is great.
Awesome staff and way less hectic than the Union Square location! Got my battery replaced here and couldn’t have asked for better service. Everyone was super nice and helpful.
Looking good like any other Apple store. I was lucky enough to get what I wanted without an appointment but it was tough. The staff do what they can to help and they are great but this appointment system must change. Looking from outside and seeing so many employees chatting with each other and at the same time being told that you can be helped only with an appointment is frustrating and annoying. COVID is gettin better and there’s no reason not to have a few reps dedicated to walk ins...
We came from outside the city and after running around and around to find a place to park we already lost about 40 minutes if not more then we paid 2 hours for the meter about 14$ so all this trouble for us to go inside the store and be told to make an appointment for purshase !! For purshase !! We were gonna buy 2 iPhones one for me and one for my wife we were opting for the latest model but now I would rather die before going back again and buying an iPhone so I went and bought a Samsung with NO APPOINTMENTS NEEDED!!!
My MacBook Pro provided from work crashed and would not re-start. The next available Genius appointment was 2 days away so I drove down to see if the store could take a look as a walk-in appointment. Despite the store being half empty the Genius Bar manager refused to see me and the doorman didnt even let me in. So much for empathy during a Pandemic despite explaining the situation. Terrible customer experience- not gonna come here for purchases either.
The only store in town that sells everything at a good price. I was so fascinated with the quality of the blouses I bought. The staff also who accommodated was so friendly. My visit was worth it.
Several employees, (shout out to Rose) went above and beyond to fix a strange bug my MacBook had, they went past close and got it done for me all while being incredibly kind and patient. 5+ stars all day.
33+233 we 12wwww 3
Amazing service I got nothing to my say about it for real !!
Easy on-line mobile checkout experience. Friendly outdoor crew.
This has to be a great example of an Apple Flagship store. Currently they are very ON with COVID-19 protocols. And they always have been a great place to checkout the latest tech and the kids love the hands on iPad / iPhone time
Had a rough start buying the iPhone 11pro.Had to wait for three hours to transfer data from my old phone and none of the technicians could help me out. And since it was 8pm and store closure time, I had to leave. However, when I raised my concern it’s Daniel,He was kind enough and patient enough to help me out and offer me a compensation. The 5 stars are just for Daniel.
Very good customer service and well managed for visitor in pandemic, could feel safe. Hats off 👌
Quick and easy pick-up process.
Went to fix a problem with my iPhone, I said I wasnt sure if I backed up my photos correctly and the associate checked and said they were backed up. We ended up restoring my iPhone and the problem was due to a hardware issue and the only solution was to buy a new phone. The associate was wrong and my photos were not backed up- I 1,100 photos. They were not helpful in accepting their mistake which only proved more frustrating. Out an iPhone and all of my photos.
Traded in old Phone for new iPhone 11 Was not informed that they no longer transfer contact data from old phone as they did when I purchased an iPhone for a gift there 6 months agoSales person said I could get my data from sim card which they gave me form traded in phone.Did not set up phone and said I could do easily on YouTube and my data would be on the cloud.I am 79 year old Vietnam Veteran I could not set up phone, hired a Tech from a service company to set up phone, he could not find contact data on my cloud nor on the sim card from old phone they took as trade in. Called Apple support service and they tried but informed us the data was not on sim card nor in the cloud which sales person (Zoe) said it was. My son was with me and we would never recommend to use this store. I needed my phone contact list for my doctors, friends and relativesHaving taken my old phone I could not retrieve my data after we brought home new phone. Sorry I trusted sale person and very disappointed in Apple, train your sales people better . Terrible customer service. Should have listened to my friends and bought another phone.
Apple rep: Hi do you have an appointment?Me: No I dont Im hoping to just pick up a replacement MacBook charger.Apple rep: Unfortunately we are by appointment only.Me: Okayyyy can I order online from your doorstep and pick up?Apple rep: You can but it usually takes an hour or two and we close soon. Why is it so hard to purchase a charger that is right there in the store?!! Figure it out Apple! People arent excited to make appointments for simple purchases!!!!
Everything seems to me a pretending here in this apple store. A pretend COVID-19 temp check, a pretend show shelf of unavailable accessories, a pretend knowledgeable staff, pretend beautiful employees giving you a pretend fake customer service. Pretend pretend pretend.....!
Thanks you to Jenny the best lady of shop she helped me so much. Congratulations to her !
If youre gonna go to an Apple store in San Francisco, I highly recommend this one. They are never busy & therefore there are always tons of employees available to help.Theres also always tons of parking in the area & its a safe neighborhood to park/walk in.
Hard to hate on the tech retail giant. This location in particular is clean, efficient, and on a cute little strip on Chestnut.
MacBook came back from repair with the wrong screws. How does that even happen?
Curt and not much help. We came to pick it up as it showed it was available. even though I understand that it isnt ready but there was no greetings no asking if we needed anything and walked off without so much of a bye.
Wait to long. people not knowable enough
Fast and friendly staff, ironic for sf
Great store, fast service, friendly people
I came in to get my phone screen repaired with Apple Care+ through my insurance I pay for monthly via t-mobile, but there was a little hiccup on T-Mobiles end that occurred over a year prior. Daniel, Mica, Wilson, and Connor all helped me out and worked together flawlessly to get the issue handled quickly & professionally. I couldn’t of been happier with their service. This will be Apple store of choice moving forward. Thanks again for all the help.
The people here does NOT want you. Keep going. They want to keep as many people away so they can keep fudging about. I’ve spoken to a few staff who are not very knowledgeable. They didn’t even know their store hours.
Nathan is absolutely amazing! Such knowledgeable guy with macs! Hes totally next level genius!Quick and super smart!
I was desperate for an appointment And decided to walk in and take a pulse. Was told to come back in 30 minutes. Perfect... needed to feed the meter which is the biggest problem in the marina. No ...there was no parking at the one, singular, only parking garage.Staff was brilliant efficient and quick. Parking is the only challenge at this fabulous store.
The service tech was amazing a so patient. My 85 year old Italian friend had some issues with her new phone, which resolved fairly easily and respectfully and patiently answered my friends many questions.
This is probably a better location to go to if you are looking to get a Genius Bar reservation to get help with your Apple devices, given that the one in Union Square is in a tourist area/location. I booked an appointment the day before and got assistance as soon as I walked inside the store.
I purchased a MacBook Pro on January 16th from this store for >$3,500. There have been several issues with my computer that apple has failed to fix. First, within the first few weeks, the charger on the left-hand side of the computer stopped working. The computer would charge when the power was plugged into the right, but not the left. Second, and more fundamentally, the computer started crashing unexpectedly. It crashes when I plug it in, it crashes when I switch songs on spotify, it crashes when I close word, it crashes when I open itunes, it crashes when I plug in an external monitor, it crashes when it is starting it, it crashes when I look at it.This computer has caused me so much grief and taken up so much of my time that I am at a loss of what to do. I have lost a large amount of data and work because of these unexpected shutdowns despite having three cloud backup services running. The experience with this computer combined with the lack of accountability by Apple Care has taken me aback. I am shocked that (i) apple would send out a computer with so many issues, and (ii) the level of condescension and lack of accountability shown to me by the senior advisors. I pay for apple care, but I have not received any care at all, I’ve received apple complacency. Now the solution is to send my computer in without any sort of option to give me a computer in the meantime? I mean, ARE YOU KIDDING ME?, what is a warranty even accomplishing if you do not have access to your computer. Take a note from car dealerships—when cars break and are under warranty, the dealer offers a loaner car; there is not reason why apple can’t set up a similar system.
Not the fanciest Apple store around, but a solid location. Good luck finding parking in the Marina. Best taking muni or walking. But overall a great experience. Nice big windows give great light. They have all the devices and components out for you to play with. The people that work there are quite nice too. We accidentally ordered the wrong size iPhone (oops!). They replaced it with the right one, no questions asked. Not even an eye roll. Bonus: they have bathrooms!
Its a perfectly nice store but if youre here for the Genius Bar please please get an appointment in advance, or you could easily be in for a 2 to the 3 hour wait. If youre here for anything else its fine. As mentioned theres pretty much no parking on this street.
The Chestnut Street Store is one of the Very busiest Apple stores. Go Prepared. Ive gone several times with my Dad (85) for his One to One classes. He is always very prompt and the trainers are too. They are very patient and even write notes for him. I appreciate their enthusiasm, knowledge and especially patience. My Mom has started taking classes too.
The guy that helped me was very nice. And when he couldn’t handle the problem he called Apple support for me and made sure that it was taken care of. Store reminds me of being stuck in a blade runner nightmare, but whatever. Walls look like cheap imitations of the work by Donald Judd but that’s just me. I don’t favor cold and sterile. But I did go into the Dyson show room recently and it looked like Apple’s but on steroids!
I love Apple products, they are excellent. The service in this store is far from excellent or even from good. I had to wait 40 minutes before I could pay for an iPhone is was buying. Who is going to wait 40 minutes so he can spend 1,000 bucks on a phone?! A couple of weeks later I came back to pick up an online order - hoping to avoid the wait time. I received an email that my order was ready, but still had to wait 20 mins in the store before someone was able to help me.
This is a much nicer Apple Store located in a charming classy neighbourhood in SF. It is nothing different compared to other Apple Stores but this one doesnt get as busy as the one in Union Square where it get very difficult at times to even talk to one of the Apple Sales Specialists. Ive also managed to purchase here some of the new Apple products without needing to wait forever queues. Highly recommended if you want to stroll by and visit a nice neighbourhood too!
Short story: If you’re not buying something, use Mobile Kangaroo. Apple takes longer, charges more, and in my experience, is less helpful. Mobile Kangaroo actually offered me great advice for buying in the future also.Long story: I came here a couple years ago to have my battery replaced in my MacBook after the scandal and the lawsuit making Apple offer cheap battery replacements. I asked to replace my battery and was first discouraged from doing so. I had to insist that I wanted my battery replaced. Then, I was told I had to leave it for a few days to get it looked at. 2-3 days later they finally looked at my computer, called me, and told me there was apparent water damage inside. My 5 year old or so computer (which was working fine except for a battery warning) would have to be completely replaced at the cost of around $1,700-$1,800 in order to replace my battery, which because of a recent lawsuit about them strangling customers, would only cost $40 or something. “Wait, I thought we won the lawsuit against them exploiting customers?” So I went to the store and took back my computer without fixing the battery. The person I spoke to wasn’t even apologetic that she was telling me that my only option was to practically throw down enough money for a brand new MacBook to replace a five year old computer in working condition, just to get a new battery.Fast forward to this year. I recently had a problem in my MacBook (the same one) and was faced with a one week wait time at this Apple Store or being seen the same day at Mobile Kangaroo. I gave them a shot. They ended up replacing my entire computer, everything Apple was going to replace, for half the price. Not only were they much cheaper, they were quicker, nicer, and gave me advice on how to purchase cheaper Apple products in the future.A big part of the reason I’m willing to pay more up front for Apple products is reliability and support. I haven’t been getting that support. The products are reliable (usually), but visiting their stores, like this one, are terrible experiences. Support might be good when you get it, but it takes a really long time to get it, and it’s overpriced when you do. And sometimes it’s not great actually. Sometimes staff are impatient and rush you, and even come across as rude. I paid up front for quality and care and Apple really hasn’t been delivering. I’m strongly considering switching products in the future.
Worst Apple Store Ever. I scheduled an appointment and waited 15 minutes at the bar. No one came to help. When i asked the manager how much longer it would take, she said no idea. Overall rude attitude from employees and poor professionalism. Apple has truly going down hill since Tim Cook took over.
Fun to go in and browse Apple products and decent customer service
Bought an iPhone here yesterday but almost messed up by an Asian guy who works here. I asked an iPhone SE with 64G, rose gold and model A1723, especially the model A1723, I asked him twice because with other model it probably doesnt work in China. He said yes they have. Just after I insert my credit card into the machine I realized that the phone he gave me is the wrong model, not A1723. So I told him this and asked a right one. But he said no and said there is no this model in USA, only sold in China, and the one he gave me works in China. Somehow I doubted that. After a little arguing I said I have to phone my friend who asked me to buy this. Of course it takes some time but at the meantime he just push me to finish the credit card signing and was really impatient. At the end he discussed with his colleague and finally gave me the right phone. So it was really an unhappy shopping experience for me. If I wouldnt insist, I really got the wrong phone that totally doesnt work in my country.
I went in there to recycle my computer. Customer service people seems to be lazy in helping people despite not a lot of people in the store. You ask one guy and he refers to another and another.. So finally some guy helps but he appears to feel I am taking his time. He looked at my computer, and say its not worth anything, went into a website and despite the website said it is worth $60.00, he said its better for me to recycle. Left the form open and said I can fill out the rest, left me.. I ask another guy then he said he isnt a technician, refer me to the girl, instead of having me to the genius bar, have the center call me to solve my problem instead. Why would I want to speak to someone on the phone when I went all the way to the store???? Idiots. Something about since the computer is 2009, considered vintage, cannot registered to the genius bar??? What nonsense. I have to say being as a fan of apple, is utterly disappointed at the stores service.
I went there 11:30 am and below is the rest of my strugglesWeve reserved your spot in line at the Genius Bar and will be ready for you soon. Youll get a reminder when its almost your turn.Well be ready for you earlier. Youll get a message between 1:10 and 1:30 when its almost your turn.Reply 2 to request 30 min later, or 3 for 60 min later.Sorry, were running behind. Youll get a message between 2:05 and 2:25 when its almost your turn.Reply 2 to request 30 min later, or 3 for 60 min later.Sorry, were running behind. Youll get a message between 3:00 and 3:20 when its almost your turn.Reply 2 to request 30 min later, or 3 for 60 min later.disrespectful for my time
Amazing staff!! We were shopping for an i pad, and the team member ( Sheila) helping us, we had a question that her supervisor could assist us, she got the manager (Alan) for us and he was the sweetest, most helpful, courteous manager you could wish to chat with. Both team members : super helpful, knowledgeable, and courteous . Five stars !
Amazing Staff! The absolute best place to buy Apple products in the city. Try out the iOS app and check yourself out when buying accessories. Great teaching programs as well. They handle iPhone sales with ease and I recommend coming here instead of going to AT&T or Verizon.
Switching to Samsung. Forever. This dumb store—I never thought buying a phone would be such a terrible, difficult experience. First of all, the lighting in this store was giving me a massive migraine, so having to talk through what I needed 3 times in one day was frustrating. Second, the customer rep asked me to return in an hour because the system wasn’t working. I returned only to discover they turn off the system for purchasing phones 30 minutes before they close? if a customer wants to buy something 15 minutes before closing, they should be able to. Ultimately, I had to come to this store three times to buy a phone and wasn’t able to, first because of my prepaid plan, second bc of technical difficulties, third because they shut down the system early. Ruined my afternoon and evening. I’m sick of Apple and their terrible customer service and lack of innovative products.
The staff was excellent! They were helpful and kind but especially Fred. Including the manager whos an awesome and understanding man.
Very helpful staff unlike the other genius bar location they had no problem with having a transgender client visit
Its an apple store. Helpful staff high tech environment.
2:1 employee:customer ratio means good customer service! Also a totally swanky establishment. There was an epic line outside, not sure what for. I had a genius bar appointment so no sweat getting in for that.
Ill start off by saying that I dont ever leave reviews so for me to actually write one, it had to be a really bad experience, and let me tell you, it was BEYOND BAD! Im only leaving 1 star because zero isnt an option. First off, we stopped in because of the iPhone 6 Plus camera issue, which is a known issue for many people with the phones, so you would think Apple would have a streamlined process for this fix/replacement. Now, we did not have an apt so I understand having to wait a little, that makes perfect sense, but we timed our visit so it wouldnt be around a busy time of the day. It was a Monday, between 10-11, so we assumed, people are at work so as long as we avoid the lunch break rush, we should be good. So we get there and check in and they tell us its up to a 3 hour wait! Weird because the store only has a few customers in it and theres a bunch of Apple techs standing around doing nothing. But she said it wouldnt be near that long, they just have to tell us up to 3 hours. She also stated that we would get a call letting us know when we were getting close to the top of the list as well as an additional call letting us know when they would take us in 15 minutes so we could hear back to the store. So we put our name down and said that we would find something to do for a bit outside along Chestnut. Well 2 hours and 52 minutes later, we havent received ANY phone call updates yet so we walk back in and they say yeah, go ahead and take a seat and someone comes right out to help us. Glad we came back on our own because they obviously had people around to help customers. Who knows how much longer we would have waited for a phone call update letting us know we should come back in. Then, on top of the terrible wait to even get someone to help us, we still spent an additional 40 minutes in the store just for them to give us a replacement phone. What a joke. A 3 hour + wait on a Monday, mid-morning is ridiculous and Apple should be embarrassed. If youre looking for Apple support, this is NOT the location to visit. Steer clear.
Cant say anything bad about the store. I got treated well and would go there again any time and it is way less crowded then some of the flagship stores SF or NYC.
Mariah helped me get my computer ready for a battery replacement. She was extremely helpful and even expedited the repair I needed
I can not resist going in even though I have seen all these products many times. Maybe it is the silver color? More likely the excellent screens.
Small apple store in chestnut. Staff is not very helpful. Union Square apple store is more attractive than the one on Chestnut.
Its not too too crowded, and fairly pleasant, I had a nice enough visit unlike the Genius Bar at Union Square
Great apple store. Well run despite being constantly busy.
Lovely place nice staff latest apple products on display
Not open early enough on Sundays - had my phone stolen at Bootie and needed to check my work email. Fortunately, Blue Light is right around the corner, so I hung out there. 5 stars.
I dont usually write reviews, and Im upset to be writing this, but I think its important to share about my recent experience at this store.2 weeks ago, I came into replace an iPhone X that had a shattered screen - they gave me a new phone for $99 w/ my applecare+, but when I went home, the Face ID had been disabled and there was clearly an issue w/ the hardware in the phone. I tried resetting the phone, erasing it and re-setting it up, watched youtube videos about the issue, etc. - all in all, spent about 3 hours trying to fix a brand new phone.Fast forward 2 weeks when I finally have the time to take the phone into the apple store - I meet w/ a technician, tell him the issue, but he said that since the new phone had a crack on the screen (I had dropped it unfortunately and it barely cracked), they would charge me $29 for a new phone, even though the phone had hardware issues & would have to be replaced regardless of the cracked screen.I thought out of principle that this was BS, and when I inquired more, they said well youre giving us a phone w/ a cracked screen, well have to fix that screen so thats $29. What I didnt understand & what they wouldnt answer for me is the fact that the phone had an internal issue & would have to be fixed regardless - why should I front a bill and use my apple care when I had at this point spent over 4+ hours on an issue that was Apples fault? All in all, $29 is no big deal, and I could tell the apple employee felt bad, but out of sheer principle, when a customer spend hours of their valuable time trying to fix a hardware issue, Apple should just see that and not charge the customer anything. In fact, no one apologized for the inconvenience of having to go back down to the apple store after they gave me a faulty phone.Lets just hope this new phone works and I dont have to continue this Apple saga. The whole thing almost made me want to switch to android, and this is coming from an apple watch owner, macbook owner, iphone owner, and an ipad owner...
Busy, but I fit in easily to speak to the experts. There is a police guard posted in front.
Fine Apple store but too long a wait just to have simple questions answered. Feels like you need an appointment to shop.
All three employees I interacted with were fantastic! I may not be an apple fan but I do appreciate great customer service.
So grateful place and helpful team
Employees were very helpful and courteous in fixing my malfunctioning MacBook Air.
Is a medium size Apple Store very well located. The outside and the inside is like any other Apple Store: All Apple products to play with, really fast and open WiFi network, helpful staff, beautiful design...
After waiting more than five minutes just inside the front door I had to take the initiative and make my way to the back of the store to ask for help. I was then put on a wait list to buy a phone I had money ready to pay for. This phone was a gift and if it was for me I would have walked out. After being asked twice if my name was Bryan I said that I can be Bryan if it means I can spend my more than $850 on a phone that I have been waiting ten minutes for. The attendant, Patrick, then proceeded to correct me and tell me that in fact I had only been waiting seven minutes. I found this incredibly rude and also he failed to take into account the time I waited before finding someone to put my name on a list. Monet who finally helped me was sweet but the overall experience left a bad taste in my mouth. These employees need some serious customer service training.
Pretty typical Apple store. Wasnt constantly bugged about their products, which was nice.
Great store. Sure hope Apple Chestnut St. continues to offer one-to-one training times in the morning.
Busy location, but incredible customer service. Call me impressed, even if Im an Android fan boy 😜
Nice store, good stock and the guys at the genius bar are very helpful. Hard to get an appointment though.
This is Apple Store is the best I love apples costumer service agin this store is excellent
These guys are great & thanks for the upgrade
Love affair with Apple over. Recent products Ive owned just havent been reliable and the prices are just madness for something that isnt innovative enough.
I avoid this Apple Store. They never call you for anything. They even lost one of our companys tower computers. When I kept calling them about it..they said we never responded so they recycled it. They were irresponsible and never followed up. I will never go to this store.
Nice place... Always a good place to go
Beautiful design and great service! Loved the Genius Bar!
Took a broken screen ipad in, waited 1 hour and 15 minutes to see somebody without an appointment. Wouldnt it be easier for them to just inform me in the first place that theres no screen fixing, only replacement option is available? Anyway since its not my ipad, I waited for the confirmation to pay $199 for a replacement one, which put me back into the waiting line for another 1.5 hours while most of the employees are free and chatting to each others.
Clean definitely well lit and the staff was knowledgeable, very polite.
My reservation is at 11:40. I was there late and they change it to 1:10. But then nick said someone will help me later. I waited 40 minutes but no body help me. Nick left so then I talk to an hairy guy about my resveration but that guy said I have to wait until 1:10. Luckily, nick came back and told somebody to help me.
The genius bar here is fantastic as always. I was in and out to fix my apple wallet issue within five min.
Why have a usb c tablet that does not provide standard usb connections for peripherals.
Quick servicing for my broken iPhone with smart and attentive technicians.
Standard issue Apple store but very busy. Make sure to make appointments beforehand for the best service.
Good location - away from the tourist routes, kind and helpful staff, always ready to help.
Never called back for battery replacement appointment.... dont bother call them.. nobody will pick it up
Really friendly and helpful service. Thank you Morris!!!
Terrible...The Beats Solo headphones that I had purchased less than a year ago (still under warranty) had started to fall apart, so I went into the apple store hoping to drop them off for repairs and be on my way. I was told that I would only have to wait for 20 minutes, but it wasnt for 50 minutes that I was finally able to speak with someone... He then told me that my headphones were actually out of warranty, disappeared for 10 minutes and then told me there was nothing he could do... Altogether a terrible experience.I hope this will be a lesson for the rest of you- DONT BUY BEATS- they fall apart, and when they do you cant even get them fixed.
Not enough employees. It took to long to buy something.
This store is not as good as union square store but all staffs are helpful and friendly.
They broke my iphone 5s. I went there in order to change the battery. in the next day i picked up the phone and it was with some issues on the touch screen. They were getting worse during weeks and 10 days ago it stoped working. I took to 2 repair stores and both told me that the problem was that when the technician changed the battery he broke 3 pieces of the motherboard. And They dont answer my complaints.
This is the worst Apple Store I’ve been to, and believe me I have been to many because I owned more than 15 devices with Apple. Avoid it, go to Union Sq or another one. 2 times I’ve been here and 2 times I’ve had some major issues that should not be happening. Unfortunately, Apple is not invested in their customers like they should be or advertise to be.
Friendly staff and well organized store. Came here for macbook repairs with no complaints.
Helpful teachers getting me more familiar with my MacBook
