Stopped in on a friends recommendation to get my first adult bike. Went in researching the State Bicycle Co. Core series which they had in stock! Everyone there was super helpful and informative on the pros and cons on each bike I had questions about. They made sure I was comfortable on the bike ergonomically and showed me how to set up the warranty for my new bike. Couldnt be happier, thanks guys!

These guys are true pros!! All that I needed was a simple brake repair which they turned around faster than promised....and more importantly, they DID NOT try to over sell on any unnecessary repairs, which they could have easily done. Obviously, they will treat you right!!!

Great local shop. Went in for 1 bike and walked out with 2. Great selection, friendly knowledgeable staff, and make customizing the bike you pick easy least (and free for stuff like handle grips, seat, and rim colors if you go with a SD bicycle brand!). Highly recommend.

Well...😒 Yesterday I want to this location in order to see if they had parts for my bike (upgrade), instead I was told by a very (bias & vexed) young associate that they have a (one customer-at-a-time) policy due to COVID-19, But there was no such policy posted, So when I asked him where was his mask, he felt untitled to controdict me as a customer without any proof that the staff were vaccinated (DUE TO RISK OF THE PUBLIC SAFETY, I CAN NOT ADVISE ANYONE TO SUPPORT THIS RETAILER AT THE PRESENT TIME, But I am sure that there are other bike shops that can assist you with your needs both FRIENDLY & RESPONSIBILITY as well.

Family owned. We were able to customize what we wanted and within a matter of about 2 hrs we had these beautiful bikes for about the same price as the generic looking ones elsewhere. The service was great- thank you!

Other than probably having the best price in the whole area the service here is the best! Dan, his wife, Jeremy and his manager helped us a lot on picking the right bikes for my wife and I. I could sense their honesty and kindness.I really wanted my bike to be in mad black color and although they didn’t have it in store, they went above and beyond by ordering it immediately and keeping me updated on the delivery, it was fast!We recently moved to PB and this will definitely be our go-to bike shop for anything bike related.Thanks for your awesome service!

I bought a bike online that definitely was borderline worth resuscitating. PB Bikes gave me an honest estimate for labor and advice on whether the work was worth it. I went ahead to get the bike repaired and it rides like a completely different bike! This shop was quick with their work and has very educated staff. Would absolutely go back and recommend to others!

During the pandemic lockdown my husband and I decided to purchase two bikes for pleasure riding and exercise. We had no idea that bike sales were depleting the supplies and we couldnt find the bikes we wanted anywhere. Then I visited the Pacific Beach Bikes website and purchased two seven speed bikes only to get a phone call several hours later to let me know the bikes were not available. No comfort girl bikes or seven speed bikes were available at all. Heather worked with me for the next few days to help us purchase two beautiful three-speed bikes...making sure we got what we wanted. Her attention to our needs, communication and free upgrades were much appreciated. The bikes were ready as soon as they were delivered. The product is top of the line and the service exceptional. This is the best bike shop I’ve gone to. I have lived in mission beach for 3 years so I have bought at least 20 bikes for family and friends who visit. Their bikes are the only ones that ever last as long as they do. Heather and Dan are the best and always move fast to get your bikes back to you or tweak them right then and there. I challenge anyone to find bikes better built and the costs are very affordable especially because the bikes last!

These people are amazing. They ensure all my needs were met. They ensure I got the most bang for buck. They never try to sell things so didn’t need. Even went as far to show me how fix things on my bike so I wouldn’t have to go in as much. This is the real deal and they will always get business as long as I live in San Diego.

Dan is quite literally the man!!! An encyclopedia for everything on two wheels. Im a noob to road biking, and he was incredibly generous with his time walking me through everything I would need, equipment options, routine maintenance, best places to ride around San Diego, etc. Did a full tune-up on my bike same day. This is my bike shop as long as Im in the area, cannot recommend highly enough! Outstanding local business.

This is a great local bicycle shop. The owners are passionate about bicycling and helping other. Very fair pricing and excellent detail in all their work. My bicycle rides so much smoother after they did a few adjustments. Great selection of accessories

Great location with very friendly and attentive staff. Rented 4 bike from them and they were able to accommodate from as 16” bike for my 6yo up to beach cruisers for the rest of the family! As an added bonus, they had space to park my car!

As my girlfriend and I walked in the store, we immediately were greeted with genuinely warm smiles. Right away we felt this was the place to buy our beach cruisers. At no point were we pressured to buy and that was the most important aspect about this locally owned shop we liked. Each person in the store truly does go above and beyond to make sure you get the bike you came in for! Weve been back for add-ons to our bikes and feel like part of the family when they remember us and ask how much we are enjoying our bikes! Went to the bike shop to box up a bicycle for shipping to our son in Oregon. Both the owner and his employees couldn’t have been friendlier. Never review businesses as a rule but these guys stood out as far as being bth professional and courteous.

Its a small shop run by a husband and wife. She is very personable. I wanted to get a riser for my handlebar stem and they thankfully told me it is not recommended for my bike. I also wanted them to check out how my bike was running and get a new seat installed. I was called before any work was done by a nice bike mechanic who told me his assessment and how much it would all be. Im thankful I brought it here.

I went in here for some pedals, straps, and a lock. Even though I came in with a bike that wasnt purchased from them they treated me just like they would any of their customers. The straps had a weird issue with them so I brought them back and the guys at the shop instantly figured it out and fixed them! These are real stand up guys and thats hard to find in a bike shop in PB.Also if you are looking for a nice bike to cruise around PB they have very affordable cruisers and single speeds, I was impressed by their selection and customer service.

Heather and her husband are amazing to work with. I manage a lot of vacation rentals and the bikes get heavily used. PB Bikes is always there to give me a great deal on new bikes and repairs for my existing ones. You cant beat the friendliness of the staff and attention to detail that they provide!

Man i love this place. Ive been here a few times now while building my custom stretch beach cruiser to pick up parts i was missing. i have now meet most of the crew and there is not a bad one among them. everyone knows what they are talking about and is super egar to help. i got in and out fast and with every thing i needed every time i went. thanks again guys.

Not only did they have a part for my daughters bike that the bigger bike shops didnt but they adjusted both brakes and had the bike up and running in minutes. All for just the charge of a $2.50 part and very gracious about it. Highly recommend.

I am getting ready to start a trek from San Diego to Seattle (who knows, maybe I will only make it to LA) - Pacific Beach Bikes took a shipment from me in Colorado and put the bike together, made recommendations on some extra accessories and overall spent way more time that one would expect. They close at 7, but stayed until 8;30 trying to teach me some of the tricks I might need for the ride. As an aside, Heather does have this cool trick where she can swallow her own voice -- see if she will do that for you after you get a bike and some cool gear. ;-)

I came by the shop looking to buy a new bb got it, and the guys even got me riding same day! That never happens, and really took care of my bike. I needed a longer seat post and they didnt have one quite long enough and you know what they did? Call around and tracked one down!! Thats how you keep my business! Go to PB Bikes for what ever biking needs you have they will make it right!!!

Good cheap bike rental!

I was made to feel as if my business was absolutely unwanted here. No pride in their work as i need to return today, after spending $120 not even 24 hours ago. Im not sure how else to describe the vibes i was getting from the woman at the register when i first walked in besides pretentious, completely pretentious. This was an awful experience and does not represent the vibe and culture of Pacific Beach at all. When i asked her to tell me about their tires (since across the street at Pacific Coast Bicycle their tires are $15 and here the woman told me their tires are $25.99 + tax) she said she didnt know about them and walked away without even looking at me. She could have even sold me some BS and i would have been satisfied, i simply wanted to hear what kind of quality i was receiving to justify the price difference. After she turned and walked away mid-conversation, the mechanic she had pawned me off to after realizing i was going to be asking questions before just handing over my hard earned cash, was also seemingly completely uninterested in assisting me with any kind of questions regarding their products. The only reason i am giving them 2 stars instead of one was finally, a tall, friendly staff member (im assuming manager or owner) came out of the back and actually explained the brand and quality of the products which was refreshing and definitely made me feel more comfortable choosing them to work on a bike that is, not only my main form of transportation at the moment, but of extreme sentimental value to me. He was also helpful in that it turns out they in fact do have another tire for $20 but i had not been previously informed of this as the woman only wanted to charge me the most money possible when giving her quote (which seemed to be the only part of the whole customer service experience she was interested in taking part of). After talking to the customer service driven male manager though i in fact did choose the more expensive one because who doesnt want better quality? It just would have been nice to had been given the more affordable option to go that route if i so choose to, not just be squeezed for every hard earned cent possible. The reason for my visit was to replace my back rim and tire after being hit by a car but after seeing a set of rims i liked i decided to replace both front and back as well as the back tire. Since the accident, although hobbled, i had been riding my bike for going on 4 days and the back tube was holding air just fine. Despite this, the original money hungry, judgemental woman included a new tube as part of the quote. For seemingly no reason other then, again, to squeeze every cent possible out of the hard working citizens of Pacific Beach. When another mechanic came out, who i was told would be the one to actually service my bike, i asked him if i threw him a tip if he would mind brushing some of the mud of the bottom of the bike real quick while servicing it. I received a prompt and loud NO as the only response and was told by another employee for that, i would need to pay for a tune-up. In my experience with shops who take pride in their work something simple would be no problem to satisfy the customer, not to mention i was offering a cash tip to do so. The new quote also included labor costs for each item i was buying. Not an overall labor cost or even just the labor for the 2 rims but for everything including the tire. (which is part of the process already). After all this i wake up this morning to get ready and ride to a community event and find my back tire flat!
