Charles is a truly gifted and experienced wheel builder and craftsman. He recently built me a set of wheels for my gravel bike that are both stronger and a lighter (by a little over pounds!!!) than my stock wheels. His wheels transformed my 2021 Specialized Diverge Carbon Comp from sluggish and dull, to snappy, lively and more fun than a barrel of monkeys. They are visually stunning, and I find myself wandering out to the garage just for a good dose of eye candy 😂. I am so excited for my new wheels that Charles built for me. His service goes beyond 5 stars as he pushed to finish the project in time for me to have them for a trip I was taking. Further, he went well beyond “wheel builder” as he made sure the alignment of the brakes on my new wheels matched my old wheels so there would be no needed caliper adjustment when switching back and forth. He also finished the project by mounting my tires and adding my sealant. He stayed late and went way beyond the call of duty. Don’t look any further if you want custom hand built wheels that are put together by a perfectionist craftsman. Oh yeah, the hand tied and soldered spokes just complete the package!

Great experience. I had a flat tire mid-ride and was lucky enough to find this place. He does mostly high-end builds and custom work for wheels, but I came back a few days later for a quote on a full tune-up and some replacement parts on my older mid-range road bike. He did an amazing job, was knowledgeable, and easy to schedule with. I would definitely consider him for a custom bike build or new parts when the time comes.

I came across Jet Bicycle Wheels in an article describing the popularity of their stand at an industry trade show. I was looking for a shop that could provide wheels able to withstand the challenges of a heavier rider, and I actually had this in common with the author of the article. I couldnt be happier with the wheels I had built by Charles at Jet! He worked with me on budget and addressed my concerns, and in the end, provided the highest quality set of wheels I could obtain given my budget. These traditionally spoked wheels are as light as if not lighter than the vintage set of Spinergy Rev-x they replaced, theyre far stronger and quieter without being harsh, and they ride beautifully. Charles stands behind his product with wheel care services, although given how robust the wheels are, theyre unlikely to need any service for a good, long time. If youre looking for a quality set of wheels at a fair price from a local small business (and not a superstore), definitely look Jet up.

BEST BICYCLE WHEEL BUILDING SHOP IN SAN DIEGO BY FAR!!! So I spoke with Charles through email and told him about a set of wheels i currently need rebuilt, he told me to stop by the shop the following day to have my wheels checked out. Right off the bat he new exactly what I wanted done and also asked if i wanted to have my spokes wire tied and soldered something not very many shops do anymore so i said yes. Charles told me the estimated build time which was 15 days. 15 days later charles had contacted me and told me my wheels were built and ready to go. And he told me if there were any issues to come back and get it fixed free of charge. Charles is all about 100% customer satisfaction and he goes above and beyond to do that. I am a larger cyclist that has owned several well know brand of wheel sets that experienced problems of rims going out of true and broken spokes. Charles hand built me a wheel set that is light, but withstands the punishment of gravel rides such as San Diegos punishing BRW off-road challenge.
