This is the most impressive Optometrist in San Antonio...probably Texas! I am a RN so very selective in who I will trust my eye health to. Dr. Phelps has an incredible skill set. She was thorough and took the time to insure all of my questions were answered. Regardless of what ones test results reveal, you feel uplifted leaving her office. Actually, I have referred many of my friends and own clients to her over the years based on the amazing care she gave my mother-in-law for 13 years prior to her passing. During that time I was being seen out at the military base. I just recently decided it was time to make her my forever eye doctor.

DR. Phelps has always been very good at diagnosing and treating my vision problems. Went by again today, and with my new specs I can see better than I have been in a long time. I highly recommend her and her staff for the great and inexpensive services they provide.

I have been a patient of Dr. Phelps for quite a number of years, and for the most part she is pleasant. My Dad had an appointment and I accompanied him to help interpret and my goodness I was taken back by her straight face and lack of customer service. My Dad is the sweetest teddy bear and he was trying to go for a bit a humor to lighten up the tension she brought to the room and she was not having it. I prayed about whether or not to write this review but, eventually it was evident that it was the right thing to do. They have lost my business, this was not okay. Side Note: The Technician who helped was with the testing was adorable, patient and helpful. He gets 10 stars!

I can’t stress enough how professional and Meticulous and the way they approached my visit for my examination. Sanitation and cleanliness of the office is a major Focus in the operation and management of the waiting room. The extent and different machines used for diagnosing my vision issues was really impressive, making me feel exceptionally comfortable that She knew what the issue might have been and gave me a precise and exact diagnoses.

Dr. Phelps office is fantastic and I HIGHLY recommend using Visiontech 2020 for all your eye exam needs.Spotlessly clean office in all rooms, even in corners and non-traffic areas. Having previously worked in offices, I understand the constant struggle of keeping things so nice so I appreciated their obvious effort.Waiting time in Waiting Room was minimal, less than 15 mins. ALL Staff were friendly, polite, professional and efficient. The Tech was friendly, caring, professional and very patient. Dr Phelps came in shortly and immediately I felt at ease. GREAT patient bedside manner! She performed a VERY thorough exam, being extremely patient with me, and answered all of my many questions.Ive worn glasses for 55 years and I feel this was the best exam Ive ever received. Quick service. Doctor didnt tell me whats wrong with my eyes, she only says here is your prescription. I went across the other store for my for glasses and I asked there. The front office for appointment was way too small for covid safety. Its a small strip for the waiting area, no 6 feet apart to pass by.

Amazing eye doctor. Appointment took a little longer then expected but considering she answered all my questions and I never felt rushed I can understand why. Receptionists were friendly and explained my insurance benefits to me. I highly recommend getting seen here. They also have this machine that takes pictures of your eye and dilation is not needed.

I made an appointment got to my appointment walk over to the counter and it was closed. So waited a half hour and no one saw me. The had called a patient so figured they were calling patients and no one was at the desk due to it was Saturday. Finally the person calling patients asked if I had an appointment? I stated I did but I didnt want to wait any longer. He gave me a very rude bye then. They were very rude and thankful they did not give my business.

I have tried others a couple of times over the years and even had to go back to her after another doctor made a mess of my contact exam. She is professional and through. Best optometrist I have had in the 50+ years I have been wearing glasses.

Ive been going to Dr. Phelps for the last three years. Dr. Phelps and her staff always treated me with professional courtesy and respect. Dr. Phelps has such a lovable personality which shows the sense of care she has for each patient instead of treating them like a number. Her technology always seems updated every time I go there for an eye exam. The staff is excellent keeping up with me with appointments and arrivals. I have referred people to Dr Phelps in the past and I would recommend her to anyone!!

I have been using Dr Phelps for years, dating back to her last location on Bitters rd. Always professional service and staff. Outside of slightly longer wait then I would have liked, but well worth the level of care and professionalism.

I did an eye exam as a walk in and did not wait long at all. The cost of the exam was very reasonable and the exam was more thorough than the last one I had. Staff seemed to know what theyre doing. Overall a very good experience and would recommend.

I’ve seen Dr. Mead for probably close to 10 years and I don’t plan on seeing anyone else. He is kind and listens to your concerns. I like his new location at visiontech 2020. The receptionist, Javi, was so friendly and made the pre-exam a walk in the park. I recommend this team for your vision needs.

First of all I have been going with Dr. Phelps for a while now but her staff has never been worse! The women at the front are so rude and they dont care about the patients at all. I found it frustrating and annoying that they are not willing to help you. The least you expect is to be treated with RESPECT. Second, Dr. Phelps told me and my sister our brand of contacts had been discontinued only to find out from Costco that it is NOT true. They made my sister wait two months for TRIALS! When Costco got our contacts ready in a week! It was unbelievable. I have no idea what changed from when they were at the Bitters location but I am never going back.

Cynthia is great its just the people that you have to deal with at the front that make this place completely unbearable. The lady at the front with the tattoos on her hand is just a miserable person and will treat you the way she feels about herself. Do not go here. I know I cant be the only one that thinks she has an attitude.

This place is a joke. Horrible service. Theyll screw you over and overcharge you! Dont go here unless you wanted to be cheated. I will never go here again. Walmart is better than this place.

Took my daughter for a routine exam. Arrived 15 minutes before appointment time. We waited an hour and a half to be seen. No apology for the ridiculous wait time from either the staff or the doctor. Once the doctor actually walked in to get started on the exam she seemed preoccupied and in a rush. When I informed her that my daughter had been excessively blinking she asked why I hadnt tried Zyrtec. The fact that she encourages self medicating children without consulting a doctor first raises serious red flags for me. I will never go back to this location and have and will warn others about the low level of services one can expect when you walk into this Doctors office.

Im writing becouse my wife didnt want to write a bad review, but she came home very disappointed they made a mistake in the prescription and she is been wearing the wrong contact lenses with the doctor advice that little discomfort was part of the eyes getting use to lenses today she went and the Dr said it was the wrong one, wife ask for a rembursment they only gave ½ this is the first bad review i write about anything.

Worst experience with an eye dr I have ever had. The receptionists are very rude and the Dr seems to know what she is doing but is not very personable. They are very expensive as well since the appointment includes extra mandatory services. Went for an appointment at the end of January and 2 months later they are still telling me 2-4 weeks for contacts. Id give them 0 stars if I could.
