Great food, nice atmosphere. The sandwiches had a very nice texture and the bread had a nice, sweet flavor. I had the BLT and my wife had a pesto avocado sandwich. The fries were seasoned well, crispy. The pastries were very tasty. Prices are very reasonable as well.

Rise Bakery & Cafe (Coffee Shop too) (west of 1604 Costco) - just off the access road on Hardy Oak...This is my favorite casual morning breakfast-meeting spot.Excellent coffee and Espresso choices too.Their Breakfast Panino is my San Antonio favorite! The bread is house baked, the choice of meat, cheese, onions, tomato and avocado with eggs or egg whites comes together perfectly... Cozy and casual setting makes this a great spot for a TGIF meeting!Their pastries are absolutely excellent and I have standing Cinnamon roll orders from my wife and kids if I am going to be there.

It is temporarily closed, but this is what I ordered when I was there a while back. I had an iced coffee beignets, which were truly delicious by the way, and a turkey and Swiss panini. I recommend this place for lunch.

Rise Bakery is a hidden gem in San Antonio. I ordered their burger and was pleasantly surprised. The mest was juicy and the bread was soft and light. Their cookies are also amazing. Definitely give them a shot.When Im back in San Antonio, I am going to come back!!!

The iced Mocha Valencia was so delicious and refreshing! The raspberry kolache was a bit on the dry side but Ill give it another go to be sure.

They have a very nice selection of baked goods from sweet kolaches, cinnamon rolls, and muffins for breakfast to eclairs, cakes, and cookies for dessert, or any time that the mood hits. Everything has always been tasty the multiple times weve been here. They also have lunch options if thats what youre looking for. With plenty of seating and WiFi, you can while away a relaxed afternoon. On a another note they do have coffee and milkshakes.

Pretty much the best cake I’ve ever had. We remembered a chocolate one from a few years ago and just got red velvet for my five year olds birthday. They drew a few ladybugs and wrote with wonderful script. The cake was awesome and the icing, usually a bad addition to any cake (the truth), was delicious.

This place has great variety of dishes and drinks. I personally love there cinnamon rolls if you hadnt had these rolls you must try them youll fall in love immediately.

Had a really delicious cheddar cheeseburger burger at Rise. Definitely will be going again. The bun was fresh, the burger was cooked perfectly, and the vegetables were fresh and crisp. Their Cajun fries were also really good; the spice had really good flavor, even though it definitely was really hot.I havent tried any of their baked goods, but they all looked incredible. Definitely will be trying them next time Im there.

Breakfast here is probably one of my favorites in town. They have a small menu but their breakfast sandwhich and pastries are just to die for. Their lunch is good too, and their coffee is so delicious. I highly recommend stopping in. They are delightful!

Location is great but other than that, Im not super impressed. The place is quiet dirty if Im honest. I came in about 830am so it seems no one cleaned from the day before. The coffee is OK, but they didnt offer cream unless I asked. I ordered the blue berry muffin as well, it is also just OK. One other review here stated the orange muffin tasted like corn bread, and thats exactly what Im getting from this. I do like the fact that theyre homemade but its pretty plain.

This place has THE BEST chocolate cake ever. The breakfast paninis are reliably good. The pasties overall are delightful. I always recommend this bakery with a tip to arrive early. Late mornings seem to be a difficult time for the front staff, hence the loss of a star :( . I’ll always chose Rise over any Panera or Corner Bakery due to the superior pastries!Get the chocolate cake! It’s so good!!

If you are thinking of trying out Rise bakery, I strongly advise going to Local coffee right down the street instead.The food wasnt anything special.I probably wouldnt of been as bothered if the employees werent so bleak. Every single one them dragged their feet and avoided greeting us, making eye contact or even responding when we said thank you. It was a very unwelcoming environment which is disappointing considering how excited we were to try out a small-buisness bakery so close to us. I really wish we had just turned around and walked out instead of ordering those paninis.I dont know what was going on that the employees were so disinterested and obviously unhappy, but I find it hard to sympathize as someone who also works in customer service. It takes more effort to avoid your own customers than it does to say a simple hello.If I were the owner, Id be incredibly disappointed in my staff. The pastries looked fantastic but the service leaves me regretting the money that I gave them.Needless to say, I will not be returning.

Alright let me tell you about this quaint bakery. Its nothing short of perfection. The food is delicious, the drinks are heavenly, and the atmosphere is relaxed and laid back. Update still the best hamburger,though the bun is a little much. All you have to do is ask them for less bun and they will cut out the middle of the homemade bun for you getting things in the proper ratio for the those that like their hamburger like that.Absolutely the best hamburger in northern San Antonio. I have been to all of the places that state they have the best and the difference Those places and McDonalds is the same amount of difference between this place and those places.

Have only been here twice, but both visits impressed me enough to earn a 5-star review. First visit was shortly after the place opened. Our family stopped in not knowing the place was closing in 5 minutes. The owner was super friendly, talked our ears off, and gave us free baked goods to take home with us. He features the art of local artists for sale on his walls - nice! Heck, he could have told us he was closing and shooed us out. Second visit was more recently in mid-morning. The place was packed with happy patrons. I got an order to go at a very reasonable price. Esposa and daughter had a cinnamon roll (3 votes for best ever) and I a blueberry scone (1 vote for best ever because Im stingy and dont share my food). Im a strong believer in supporting local businesses. With ambience, work ethic, food quality, and prices like this, folks should be embarrassed to take their business elsewhere.

Great breakfast and lunch place. Personally I like the coffee better than Local around the corner, the breakfast panino is one of my favorite breakfast options, and their hamburgers are some of the best around. Its pretty low key, and never busy enough for how good it is. Highly recommend

I had the turkey pesto panini with chips and a drink. The panini was excellent. I would definitely get it again. I bought 4 of their enormous cinnamon rolls to take home and share. They, too, were delicious and the prices for the meal and the rolls were very reasonable. I’m looking forward to going back.

Excellent coffee, probably the best Ive had, and I love coffee. Also, the breakfast sandwiches are huge and made with their own bread and lots of stuff in between the bread. My favorite breakfast sandwich ever. The beignets were also excellent. I recommend this place.

My wife and I really like this place. Most of the baked goods are too sweet for us, but the sandwiches are delicious. Furthermore, their prices are reasonable, so this has become a weekly treat for the two of us. Were going to try to get friends to come along and make this into a brunch ritual.

I heard about this place for a while, i looked then up and they have good ratings. I happen to passed by yesterday so I decided to stop by. I bought a couples cakes and they are so dry, I have had better cakes at wholesale warehouse like Costco or Central Market.

After reading others reviews, I had great expectations, but left disappointed. I purchased a mixture of case offerings. The sausage kolache was too greasy for my taste. The orange muffin looked so good, but tasted like a cornbread muffin with orange glaze. I threw most of it away. The orange ginger scone was peppery from too much ginger. So, been there, done that.

This was my first time patronizing this place. Mind you, Ive nothing to compare these to since this was the first time Ive tried this pastry, hence the 4 stars, but I have to say the beignets, and coffee, were fantastic! This little hole in the wall is very cozy and wait staff friendly. Their menu offers a limited variety of breakfast and lunch items, along with a fair selection of beverages and coffee. Im looking forward to visiting again on my next trip into town.

Ive always loved going to Rise. They have the best made from scratch food you could ask for. They never fail to disappoint and it is amazing to walk in and feel the chill environment. Highly recommended!

It happened, today, finally. I found an espresso shop that prepares espresso/lattes with a fine cofee bean from Guatemala. The bean is 50% of the drink, preparation is the other 50%. This cafe has combined both. I have traveled to every continent, drank coffee/espressos. Today I discovered happiness in buying/drinking a fine caramel latte in San Antonio.

This place is so much more than just a cafe or bakery. The atmosphere is always comfortable and relaxing, and everyone extremely nice and helpful. They have great coffee, espressos, shakes, and smoothies to drink. Huge fan of the Caramel Latte myself. For breakfast they have delicious baked goods with amazing cinnamon rolls, breakfast sandwiches, muffins, and HUGE kolaches. Cant say Ive ever had a better sausage kolache ever! For lunch and dinner, they have really good sandwiches, AND THE MOST AMAZING BURGER IN SAN ANTONIO. Impossible you say, but its true. I know my burgers in San Antonio, and this is firmly at the top. Ive had many a friend argue with me, but one visit, and they humbly admit defeat. If somehow after all of this you still have room, they also have tasty cookies and cake for dessert. Im so happy I tried this place, and Im always amazed at how much they offer, and how good it all is!

The baked goods are made from scratch and delicious! This is the only bakery I have found in the area that doesnt have that sickly sweet icing that seems so rampant in S.A. The Chai Latte I had was exceptional and I was told that they blend their own spices together to make their Chai and do not use ready made mixes such as those other establishments. The people behind the counter and very friendly and accommodating. Additionally, the prices cannot be beat for such wonderful food! I definitely plan on becoming a regular.

Is this place suppose to be low-fat? I tried it yesterday, but felt as if I wasted money. My church cafe makes way better turkey pesto paninis than this place. My blueberry muffin tasted like it was missing a few ingredients. Jiffy Blueberry muffin mix tastes better. Also, the cashier acted as if he never seen a black woman in his place of work; it was awkward. Will not return.

BEWARE. Do NOT order for special events. Unfortunately, Rise just lost our business. My dad stopped by the bakery about a week ago to place an order for a cake for my moms 60th birthday. The staff wrote down the details of the order and we paid up front. When my dad went to pick up the cake a week later, the same staff members went to look in the back for the cake and had no cake and no record of the cake. We were humorously offed a piece of cheesecake instead... I am not sure what they expected us to do with one piece of cheesecake to celebrate my moms 60th birthday... Anyways, because we had the receipt for the cake we were able to get our money back but we will not be returning to the bakery as long as it continues to be run by an incompetent staff.

I ordered a German Chocolate cake for my Step Sons birthday party- his favorite. I always thought German Chocolate cake in general was just mediocre until I had the Rise GC cake. Everyone at the party said it was the best GC cake they ever tasted. I had to agree, I ate more than my fair share.I just ordered an Italian Cream birthday cake and will update my review after I eat that.
