Where to begin: if I could give 6 or 7 stars I would! My son is a student at Trinity and his car’s alternator went bad and needed replacing. He and I spent 6 hours trying to replace it on Sunday to no avail. Called Broadway Tire and Automotive on Monday. They fit us in on Wednesday. Ends up the remanufactured alternator we purchased from a nearby parts store was defective and never would have fit. The Broadway mechanic discovered this after attempting to install, coordinated to get a replacement alternator from the parts store and installed the replacement alternator. The entire staff was outstanding and went above and beyond to get my son back on the road. All at a very fair price. Highly recommend!!!

This place is the best. The guys are so professional and dont make a woman feel like she is being taken advantage of. They managed to squeeze my car in for repairs and get it done in a day. Plus they found something else wrong with my car and only charged me for the part and not the labor since they were already down there!! Thank you so much guys!!!

Brutally honest & so fair I wish there was a Broadway Tire & Automotive in every county in Texas & every state in the United States.Kevin De la Garza & his family & crew have kept my collection of antique autos rolling in circumstances that would try the patience of saints - let alone master mechanics with hundreds of years of collective experience.Ive had USAA tow me over fifty miles & paid the difference to get a vehicle to Kevin instead of other closer in network garages because Kevin doesnt pull any punches, works just as hard as the newest mechanic on his roster, and his mom keeps the office ship shape. So Ive never worried for a second concerning legitimacy of any repairs, estimates, or the quality of any parts required.If you find yourself on Broadway in San Antonio Texas & your vehicle isnt cooperating, dont hesitate to pull into the purple garage north of the Pearl just past the Fountain at Mahncke Park, but before the Witte Museum. (If you pass the Central Market heading North, youve gone too far.) They do what it takes to get you back on the road safe & sound.

I am somewhat new to San Antonio (moved here three months ago). My baby (Scion 2013 FRS 10 series) had a metal piece in the left front tire yesterday. This morning I took it into Broadway Tire. I didnt know anything about the place other than the good reviews on Google. I arrived when they opened and this nice guy greets me and lets me know he will work on my FRS shortly. I grab a coffee and return and the car is almost done. The guy I wound up talking to was the owner who started the shop 30 years ago. Super nice guy. They also checked all my tires to make sure all okay. The owner and his shop made my day. I will be back for maintenance on my FRS. I dont take it just anywhere.

Wheel Bearing RepairLast June, my 2008 Toyota Highlander needed a front end repair.When slowing from high speed on the freeway, the car was making grinding noises and vibrating heavily. I called around and got diagnoses / repair estimates from a couple of local garages; the consensus was that I needed new front brake rotors. In the end, I decided to take my car to Broadway Tire and Automotive (BT&A) for a final diagnosis and repair.  Rick (the owner) drove my car, checked the rotors and re-diagnosed the problem as a front left wheel bearing. This particular repair on a 2008 Highlander is rather difficult - lots of disassembly + bearing itself must be pressed back into the hub. BT&A found the actual problem, gave me a good price, and got me back on the road quickly. Not only was their cost less than 1/2 of what rotor replacement would have been, but they completely fixed what could have been a dangerous freeway breakdown for me (no lingering issues). I appreciate the integrity and professionalism that they showed me and I will definitely return to them for all future pms and repairs.

******************B E W A R E**********************I went here for my battery terminals cleaned off and they pretty much insisted on giving me an oil change. Ruined the rod bearings and lifters in my engine due to putting too much oil in my engine. I called him and he said he doesn’t think too much oil should break a car. All you have to do is Google it to see that it in fact DOES break the cars engine.So avoid this place as much as you can. It will be more difficult afterwards then it was when you came here.

Above and beyond auto repair service. A coyote caused major damage to my vehicle. BTA saved me thousands of dollars in repairs. My van is in better shape than before the accident. They are fantastic!

DONT COME HERE.Took my altima to get fixed, instructed mechanic Ruben, by which he was very rude, to fix all main issues with thr vehicle. He gave me back the car with a bad fuse and car still leaking oil. When i called back to inform him, he fixed the fuse but wanted to charge me more to fix the oil leak and had stated i only fixed what i was told to fix and no one said to fix the oil leak but it was leaking on top so i changed the gasket 🤔 so he knew the car was leaking but decided not to fix it completely. He also stated he never looked under the car but knew about a leak 🤔. I also paid for a tire change but apparently he still didnt look underneath the car. This place is trash and he was rude over the phone telling me to shut up.

Kevin and his crew are good people. I had an open envelope with $1200 on the passenger seat that I had forgotten to deposit. After leaving the keys with Kevin, I remembered about the $ an hour later.When I rolled in Kevin saw me and Wales over and said “duuuude...”Apparently his guy saw the cash and called Kevin over because he didn’t want to touch anything until it had been secured.They are honest, do good work, and genuinely seem like good people.Oh, and they do more than just tires!

I was in the midst of moving out of state and was literally planning on leaving that day when I noticed one of my tires had low pressure. Took it into these guys and the man at the front took my keys and said it would be about 15 minutes. 15 minutes later and true to his word he was done. It had a nail in it that he patched and what he charged was reasonable in my estimation. Definitely gave me peace of mind. I recommended this place to a buddy of mine and he had a similar experience. Ive been here multiple times and they do excellent work. Very personal and honest. Their pricing is competitive and they dont recommend services unless they truly believe its whats best for your vehicle. I actually stopped by one day to have them look at a tire with a small piece of metal stuck in it and they pulled it out for me, checked the tire (it had no leak), adjusted the air pressure on all 4, and didnt charge me a dime. Thats the type of customer service you want from a good mechanic.

Great group of guys! Highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for an honest mechanic(which are hard to come by these days). They have a warranty on the parts that they put in and they offer a very fair price for parts and labor(this is coming from a college student). Ive gone to them twice once for a fuel pump replacement in which they shopped around to find the least expensive but quality fuel pump and installed it for a little over $500, second time I went for brake pads and rotor replacement and it cost me around $350 and they had my car back to me before the end of the day!

I had a caliper bolt head that wasnt coming out while changing my brakes. I went down to the shop and after 2 hours they were able to get it out (the bolt had expanded over time - 15 year old car) and were extremely fair with the price. Not only did I get a fair price but great customer service. Definitely will go back

Another tire placed quoted me at around two grand for all the work I needed done. Found this place and they quoted me for half of it. The other place told me I could wait for 6 hours for them to finish, broadway tire gave me a ride home. Super awesome and friendly service, and everything was explained to me in detail. The staff treated me with respect, and thats a RARE quality in the automotive game.

I highly recommend Broadway Tire & Automotive. My daughter is a student at Trinity University and this was her first time experiencing car troubles away from home. Broadway Tire volunteered to pick her up and drop her off from campus They assessed the problem, got her car working again and were most fair with their pricing.

I cant even find the words to explain what a gem this place is. My husband was away for work and Kevin, Ricky, and all the guys in the shop were amazing to help me out with my van that kept not starting. Kevin made sure I knew to call him if I stalled anywhere on my way to the shop since my husband was away. People could care less for you these days, but not these guys, theyre awesome and really care about their customers. I stayed at the shop instead of leaving and all the guys were super kind and I didnt feel unwelcome at all. Highly recommend. Fast and professional. First time customer who only dropped in because my car died right in front of their shop (practically). Even without an appointment, the staff at the desk, the mechanics and the owner fell all over themselves to make sure that I was back on the road in a few hours (they offered me a ride, but I was within walking distance of my office). I was kept in the loop during every step of the process and the mechanics explained the necessity for each part replaced. Prices were very reasonable, and they were very gracious about dropping some of the labor charges after initially misdiagnosing the problem.

Everyone knows dealerships overcharge, but i couldnt believe how much i would save coming to these guys! I saved a grand by going to Broadway Tire & Automotive!!! They are great mechanics, no bs, and they strive to make long lasting customer relationships. I would recommend them to anyone! Stop searching and just take your car to them! Best Automotive Service in San Antonio, done right. I had my brakes replaced by another automotive shop less than a year ago (Brembo). Within a few months they were shaking and making a squealing sound. When I went back, they gave me a run around, and did nothing to fix what was obviously their fault. Kevins team looked at them, and immediately told me the problem. I explained my financial situation. Without hesitation, they took care of the major problem, and did a minor fix until I could come back and pay for the rest to be done. I did and I couldnt be happier! Ive since been back to have my wifes oil changed, in and out in no time. Wish I knew about Broadway Tire and Automotive sooner!!

I cant say enough good things about this place. My tire went flat after going over a pot hole on Broadway. I called and they answered the phone right away. They told me to come in. They didnt have the right tire in stock, but they put my spare on for free. The next day they had the tire ready and had me out the door in less than an hour. They even topped off the air in all my tires for me.Very nice, great communication skills, and they always answered the phone. 5/5

This shop is hands down one of the best Ive ever had a chance to work with. Great attitudes, knowledgeable, fair prices.

MILITARY BEWARE. I had a great experience here until I had them work on my air-conditioner. They couldnt find the problem and rather than simply say that and refer me on to someone else, they racked up $1200 worth of charges and kept my car for two weeks. When the car was returned to me, the air intermittently worked for a couple days before it stopped working in total again. Unfortunately, we were PCSing/moving at the time. I immediately let Kevin, the owner, know that the air was not functioning again. Kevin stated that he would make things right. My air conditioner did not work during the drive from Ft Sam to Ft Sill. Once I arrived at Ft Sill, I took my car to another garage, where a mechanic looked under the hood, immediately pointed to the problem, and provided me with pictures of the problem. I spoke with Kevin and he stated to go ahead and have the Air conditioning fixed and he would cover the bill. (I even offered to drive the car back to San Antonio so he could take a look at it.) I did and the car was returned to me with air-conditioning and one day. I texted Kevin and emailed him the pictures and bill. Again, Kevin stated that he would pay for the bill to make things right. However, after months of repeated calls, he failed to make things right. I would not refer my family, friends or fellow soldiers here.
