Wish I could give 10 stars. Our buses waterpump gave out while on vacation. Called CPD at 8 am and they had us in there right away and fixed by 5:30. Every employee was extremely helpful and kind and the price was fair. Thanks again from the hippie bus.

We drive 100 miles from Plainville, KS to have diesel vehicles repaired at Central Plains Diesel. They do awesome work at a reasonable price. They have the best equipment to do the job and they do it right the first time.

We broke down outside of town and Dan and his crew helped us continue our trip by making our project a priority. The true character of a man is how you treat others around you, but a better indicator is how you treat a complete stranger whom you will probably never see again. They welcomed me like family, took care of the problem in a very timely fashion, came and picked me up when my truck was done and charged a very fair price. What else could you ask for. Had over 2 grand of work done to my duramax and as soon as I picked it up it was leaking coolant and all of a sudden has head gasket problems. And they also didn’t even look at my initial issue I requested to be repaired. My thinking is that someone test drove it and hot rodded it a little too hard. Which makes me question if it really needed the other work they asked if they could perform while it was in their shop

Central Plains Diesel & Repair office staff and technicians are extremely helpful, extremely knowledgeable and work hard to make sure customers are satisfied and the job is done right. They are 100% professional in how they run their business, and highly recommend them to anyone!We were traveling from NM to home in central IA, and were stranded west of Salina, We had to be towed into Salina for repairs, and thinking that we were going to be taken advantage of (being on the road and in need of repair services). CPD worked us into their schedule, completed the work completely to our satisfaction and the bill was less than the estimate! They also gave us recommendations for places to stay, where to eat and were very hospitable.We have had our truck in for repairs at a local Iowa shop 5 times (for the same initial issue), and were still not satisfied. I will drive 5 1/2 hours from Iowa to CPD, before Ill frequent our local repair shop ever again. CPD is that good!

Ive been going to Central Plains Diesel & Repair for almost 5 years. The staff provides exceptional service, and the work is always done efficiently and in a timely manner.

I have a 2000 Ford F250 that broke down on our way back to Colorado. I was able to get my truck and camper to the KOA in Salina and I began to check into repair shops in town. Speaking with multiple local people and reading the other review here on Google, it was an easy decision to choose Central Plains Diesel. I got my truck to the shop - they were extremely busy for a Monday morning, but that didnt stop Dan from taking the time to talk to me and assure me that he would get in to my truck right away. Then we was nice enough to jump in his truck and give me ride back to the KOA.A few hours later he called me with the worst of news... I had lost a piston and the motor was shot. He was extremely empathetic and told me to take all the time I needed to decide what to do. Dan offered to keep the truck and even my camper at his shop as long as I needed with no lot fees or anything. He provided multiple solutions and gave me his honest opinions of what he would do in that scenario. We found a way back to Colorado, leaving the truck behind, so we could continue to look in to our options and make a decision. I called multiple times over the next two weeks with questions and ideas, and each time Dan was there to answer them with great professionalism and expert advice, never once seeming irritated or bothered that I was calling him.Finally decided to go ahead with a new motor from Jasper Engines. Two weeks later, headed back out to Kansas to pick the truck up... on a Saturday, when the shop was closed. Dan coordinated with one of the mechanics to meet me there on Saturday afternoon. They had also put about 100 miles on the truck to make sure all was in order. We got the truck back to Colorado and noticed a minor oil leak. Dan emailed me, coincidentally, asking me how the truck was running. I informed him of the issues, and that Jasper would only cover $57 per hour of labor. He got on the phone with his Jasper rep, called me a few hours later and told me that he had paid to have Jasper cover up to $125 of labor, rental car and towing - a $350 extended warranty! Talk about great service and truly honest and caring people.Theres even more I could go into here, but by now, I hope anyone looking into Central Plains Diesel can see that and know that this is the place to take your Diesel if you are anywhere near Salina and need work done! Thanks Dan and everyone for all of your help through this extremely stressful time.
