One of our favorite coffee shops and hang out places. Just love the open feel of the space, with indoor and outdoor seating.We love to work from here or meet up with friends (in non-pandemic times). Saw they started doing horchata on the website, gave it a try, and it was great! Exceptional attention to coffee in general. The pastries are also fantastic.P.S. Great coffeehouse. My Dirty Chai was good and looked pretty. There is a restaurant called better than mamas in the same building. Fun place for small meetings. Free WiFi. Owned by Salem Alliance Christian Church. It’s a good place for one on one meetings. Parking was easy to find. There are 14 meeting rooms at the Broadway Commons.

Broadway has THE best coffee in Salem. Believe, me, Ive tried them all and Im very picky. I regularly drive about 7 miles to get my latte here because its that good. The staff are mostly very friendly and the space is bright and airy with lots of options both inside and out for sitting.My one bugbear is that they insist on using plastic knives with toasted bagels. Its virtually impossible to spread ice cold butter with a plastic knife and when I asked for a real one I was told (I may be paraphrasing) that the risks were too great. When I questioned this the very nice woman I was talking to behind the counter explained that sometimes people walk off with them. She also intimated that they might be used for weapons.I had no idea Ive been risking my safety in such a way when eating at all of the good restaurants Ive ever visited who regularly serve food with metal cutlery! Ive even been to other coffee shops - some of them in quite dodgy neighbourhoods - who serve food that might require cutting with a real knife. I had no idea the risk I was taking!All joking aside, apart from anything else, single use plastic really ought to be a thing of the past by now. Please guys, update your customer-unfriendly policy on this one small thing.

My partner and I traveled from San Diego, CA to Salem, OR. We were searching for a coffee shop to relax at and found Broadway Coffeehouse. The staff was incredibly friendly! I ordered myself an iced lavender latte with oat milk. The space is very large, especially for a cafe. We were able to sit, relax and charge our belongings!

Great coffee, they do latte art on their drinks. Pastries are tasty, they are brought in from Donut Hook. The space is open and inviting, going to be my new local coffee shop!

Broadway Coffeehouse has everything going for it. It is a welcoming atmosphere with great indoor and outdoor seating. Excellent service. And the coffee is delicious. Without a doubt the best latte Ive ever had in Salem came from this place.

Asked for an iced latte with oat milk. Shave watched them fill the 16oz cup 3/4 of the way full with oat milk, pour in the espresso and then put whatever ice would fit after that. No bueno. The second item was a mango hibiscus fizzy tea. It was gross as well. And there was what appeared to be a homeless gentleman sleeping in the cafe and we had our 1 year old with us. The staff was nice and the location was prime, but that was the only positives.

Great atmosphere with expansive room and outdoor courtyard. Open later than most other coffee houses also. Noise from vehicles racing up and down on Broaway is excessive but that is not their fault. Only complaint is that the coffee is never quite hot enough for my taste.

Nicest coffee shop in town. And the espresso drinks are consistently good also.I always order the large 16oz and save half for tomorrow. I recommend either a white chocolate mocha or a lavender vanilla latte.Lots of tables, stuffed chairs, and couches. If its full downstairs, there is seating upstairs and outside. Youll need a code to use the bathroom.Down the hallway theres a nice restaurant, Better than Mamas.This is a great location for business meetings and for groups of 6-10. Theres some conference rooms available.

Coffee was good, but atmosphere was weird.Had a latte, and it was made with good quality ingredients, and it was made with skill and it was delicious. Atmosphere felt like the suburbs or a megachurch.

Love Broadway! This is a great coffee shop, with modern, industrial chic design, and the vibe of the kind of place college students would go to study (in a good way). It has a more open, airy layout than the Ike Box, so it isnt as cozy, but which vibe youd prefer depends Im sure on your mood or preference.The music does vary by who is manning the coffee bar, and sometimes seems a little unfitting for a coffee shop. Also, some of the tea-beverages can be a little weak or watery in flavor (their Chai Lattes and London Fogs arent my favorite, but their Meadow Tea was delicious!). My friends have all spoken highly of their coffee beverages (I cant do coffee, myself, so I cant speak from personal experience with those), and their pasteries are delicious!It does tend to be quite busy on Sundays, as its attached to a church, and the members (understandably) tend to flock to the coffee shop after the service. So I would recommend going at a different time of the week if you can.Overall, this place is a great spot to study (if coffee shops are your vibe), go on a casual date, hold an informal business meeting, catch up with a friend, get some work done (if you dont get distracted easily), or just sit and reflect.

I come here with my mates most saturday mornings. I enjoy the comfy chairs and friendly staff that run the place as well.

Not the quickest coffee shop, kind of pricey. It is a nice environment to sit and read, or do some work or meet up with friends.

This is my new fave coffee shop that’s so close to my house it might be a problem! The pastries are delicious, the cold brew is lovely and the honey crisp is a lovely throat calmer and body warmer! I will definitely be back, the place was clean beautiful and the baristas were incredibly friendly.

Beautiful facility for college students, readers, writers and coffee.Attended a city council meet end greet upstairs and felt the install design was excellent for meetings, with plenty of space and amenities. =:xB

This place is huge! More like a coffee castle than a coffee house! Walked here with my daughter and I was surprised at their menu style. Simple and classic. For example they serve espresso by the shot, so if you want a double espresso with cream and sugar, thats exactly what you have to order. They dont have exquisitely sugary drinks like Dutch bros and Starbucks, its very classic and modern. Honestly, and this is my professional opinion, this is a place for people who truly LOVE good, strong coffee. If you doctor your drinks up with tons of sugar and cream, you may not like the drinks here. The coffee is strong and rich, just the way i like it!

Great pastries and coffee. HUGE space (obviously limited seating with COVID currently) however great spot to meet up. Lots of parking around, so easy access. Quick and friendly service.Bottleline: Would go back.

A good place to stop for a chillax coffee break

A nice little coffee joint. Very friendly staff. This is our first experience with Stumptown Coffee. It is very smooth and tasty. Love the little decorations they put in the froth! The second floor of this building has a sitting area, place for families and children a few study rooms. Downstairs has plenty of seating and lots of little areas to sit and just be on your computer if you need be. Different chocolates from around the globe. It is nice to see smaller towns revamping the older parts of town.

My go to spot! Absolutely adore it here! Not only do they have the best hot chocolate in town they also have rooms were you can reserve to study. The architectures knew what they were doing with they built this building for sure! Just absolutely beautiful.

I have family in Salem and coming here on occasion was something that I looked forward too. Excellent coffee, good pastries, friendly staff. However I dont think I will ever return. Were at the height of covid infections, and this place is operating at max capacity with no reduced seating. About 50 folks inside sitting maskless and chatting over coffee. Even folks taking off their masks and sipping coffee next to the bar. Its poor moral character, and the folks running this place deserve to be called to account for their decisions.

Great independent coffeehouse!

I used to live a block away from Broadway Coffeehouse about ten years ago when it first opened up. I visited weekly and loved it. Great staff, very spacious and good ambiance. I then moved away from Salem, only to return recently. This was one of my first stops and glad to say my feelings mostly remain intact. Furniture is a little beat up now, but it looks like theyve been renovating.

The coffee is great, and their cookies are yummy! Its a lovely, very spacious place with lots of windows for sunshine and floors for meetings. The size of it is what I LOVE about it!! No where else in Salem can you go with so much room!!!

Coffee was really good, great atmosphere. HORRIBLE chairs, though.I was really impressed with the coffee, it was great. I love really dark coffee and they had some that worked.The atmosphere is very nice, clean and bright. Friendly staff, and a nice crowd just all chilling.The better Than Mamas restaurant is connected right next door too so you can get some nice comfort food along with your coffee if you want something more than pastries.BUT. The chairs are horrible. Seriously. I tried two different chairs and they hurt my butt, right to the bone. And Im not a super skinny nor super fat guy. They just arent comfortable at all. I didnt try the lounge type chair at all yet since I dont like holding my laptop in my lap. The regular table chairs, those were just horrible. I was wondering if they want to make sure you dont sit there too long or something lol.The chairs at Better than Mamas restaurant next door were much better and more comfy.

This is one of, if not the best place to get some work done on your laptop or read a book/study in Salem. Its big, has large tables for groups, and plenty of outlets for your devices. While its often busy, the line to order is quick and Ive always been able to find a seat somewhere. Free WiFi and standing counters with stools make this my go to for remote work when Im in town.

The staff changes over the years but the warm and friendly service does not. Dont come expecting to get the fastest cup of coffee, but they will serve you one of the best tasting you can buy. Great meeting place as well and plenty of places to sit and read or plug in your device and work.

My first time there. Very clean, lots choices of places to sit. My mocha was very good and the scone was good but it would have been better warmed up. Not sure they do that for you because I didnt ask. But it was still good. Looking forward to going again sometime.

I came here for the first time the other day and my white mocha was amazing. I love the atmosphere here and the fact that there are meeting rooms here and comfy chairs to sit and enjoy your coffee. I like to savor my coffee and enjoy the experience and what better way to do that with a nice comfy chair? I plan on coming here again and again.

Stopped off to do some business, there is tons of space to work. It was a wet and cold day, and they did my cocoa with a design in the foam - it looked cool and tasted great! Fast and friendly service, very clean.

Right across from my work, usually visit once a week. Friendly staff, pleasant atmosphere. Prices are typically for an establishment of its kind. Tea drinker. Only gripe is the kettle often leads to the tea steeping for too long and becoming acidic. Should utilize a more practical kettle.

Great place! Spacious, super friendly staff, awesome atmosphere, yummy hot coco, and theres even a play area for kids! Its not easily seen--go up the stairs and down the catwalk, to your right. Says Family Room on the door. Just ask the staff, theyll direct you. Its a decently sized room with some play toys, tables and chairs (for both adults and kids), high chairs, books, and a bathroom! Its legit.

The best coffee house in Salem by far. Lots of cozy indoor seating with big windows and natural light. Great outdoor seating as well buy a water feature. The furniture inside has a living room kind of feel to it and theres even a nice fireplace. Great place. Great coffee and a nice selection of pastries.

The coffee house is quite large and spacious. It has a lovely atmosphere. Their coffee is really good however they do blended drinks which are my favorite so that was a downside for me. But the iced coffee was delicious. I would definitely go here again.

Great place to do social gathering, study group and get friendly service and good drinks and food. It can be noisy due to building acoustics, but its modern, clean and plenty of tables and seating options. Good parking lot behind the building makes it easy too.

I like it. Its big and nice. But, its a commons, so it can get loud and they dont have a warmer/steamer for your coffee if it gets cold. The gentleman offered to put hot water in my coffee to warm it up.... It was an awful idea. But overall I did the place.

One of my favorite places to meet up with friends in Salem! Not only is the coffee (and the chai latte) good, but this place is SPACIOUS. Ive been in on days when it was busy but the seating is so well done and spread out that it never feels like too much. There are plenty of nice little nooks to get cozy for an hour or two in and even a good amount of outdoor space, including a small amphitheater.

The whole place is nice and accommodating. It has lots of seating from sofa to tables and chairs and pub style seating. Staff is friendly. One annoyance I came across is their largest coffee drink is 16 ounces. Must get a code from staff to use the bathroom.
