We came here 3 weeks ago and this place was amazing. I got the hot cider with bourbon and a coffecake cheesecake and Im still dreaming about it!!! We went today and I wanted to try something different and was so disappointed. It may be because with the Halloween weekend coming up its hard to maintain the quality of when its not so busy OR they just had an off day. Today we got the Baileys iced cold brew and it taste sour. The Kitchen sink cookie was HARD and didnt have much flavor. The chocolate cake had a freezer burn taste to it. As I said, last time it was amazing so I will DEFINITELY give it another try when its not so crazy and see if it was just a bad day. Heres to hoping!
Good atmosphere maybe? Extremely mediocre coffee, not worth the higher price at all. Ordered cappuccino, tasted like staled coffee flavored milk, threw it away. If you’re around the area, recommend Odd Meter or Brew Box for good coffee. Lots of food option tho, never tried any so can’t comment on the quality
The best place for coffee in Salem MA!! Quick service, centrally located. We went there every day while in Salem.
Now this is a restaurant to go to for good food and bakery items! Excellent! Order inside and you can eat inside or out. It would be nice if paper towels and spray cleaner were offered outside for the tables. I didnt see them cleaned in the 30 minutes we were there, and they were oh, so dirty!!
Absolutely great coffee. Super friendly and helpful staff. Great pastries, deserts, and ice cream.
A really cute place with an interesting menu. However, I ordered a small hot pumpkin chai latte recently and it was $7! Do they raise the prices in October for the tourists?
20 minute wait to even get through the door. I tried to order a coffee and the guy at the counter spent a bit of time trying to convince me to buy a latte instead. It was a little weird. I ordered anyway and they gave me what may or may not have been coffee, it tasted so bad that I wasnt sure. Maybe he was just trying to warn me. My friend also ordered a BLT and it was another 20 minute wait just to get it because they put it on the counter and wouldnt give it to her. After the first 15 minutes I went up to ask the woman behind the counter if she could hand the bag to us, she wordlessly put up her hand in my face and walked away. Her full open palm, in front of my face. Needless to say, when they would finally let my friend have her BLT that had been sitting on the counter 20 minutes, it was cold and the total time wed been there was definitely not worth the entire 40+ minute wait from the time wed gotten in line outside throughout the ordeal
My friend and I ordered the dirty chai tea latte (hot) here and it was the best weve ever had. The music was great and the staff was welcoming.
Average size shop for downtown Salem, but some wicked good coffee options. They are always running special items and seasonal items to keep the choices fresh. Lots of espresso options and many milk alternatives.Food there isnt overly vegan friendly, but you can find items.Atmosphere is cute and trendy. Some seating indoors (usually full out seems at peak hours) and now some tables outside for COVID-19. Hopefully they keep that going.
Good selection of coffee and sweets for a quick caffeine and sugar rush to get you through the day. Staff was very friendly and fast getting order out to ya.
I go to the shop every two weeks or so. Always friendly staff, very good coffee and pastries. They do serve alcohol and they do have everything from breakfast, sandwiches, Pizza, salads and more. They do sell bubble tea. Hes probably one of my favorite local coffee shops in Salem oh, and it is open relatively late compared to most things in Salem.
Great atmosphere. Staff was friendly and we loved the outside seating. Bagel was delicious, muffin top had a lot of blueberries, but was a little dry. Not tragically...just a little. I would go back for sure
Love this place. Went here years ago and always wanted to go back. Bubble tea is so good, the boba is clearly fresh as it was not hard. The best way to enjoy it in my opinion! Zodiac tea is also good, I got the Aquarius one and it was delicious!
Just your average coffee shop. It was crowded and the coffee was pretty good
Very busy in October, but decent selection of treats and drinks.
One of a kind coffee lattes and teas. Great food. I got the nutella latte absolutely delicious. Great staff and service. Definitely worth the trip.
Creative menu with coffee, drinks, cocktails, and breakfast. Pastries looked amazing. I tried a decaf oatmeal latte with caramel, the drink was have down 5 stars
It might be because we came at a busy time but when we ordered online two orders came out wrong. Their pizza sandwich is just toast with some melted cheese on it. Definitely not worth $12. Maybe $4.
The dirty chai pumpkin was the best coffee drink Ive ever had. Made with crushed note cubed ice.. worth the conversion rate to CAD :D ! Lovely shop and people too!
Overpriced coffe and cakes. Waited 20 min to get the order. Don’t recommend. Stay away.
Not impressed at all. Over priced below average coffee. The only thing saving this business is the rockstar production of baked goods!Coffee? Dish water is a better description!
JAHO is a gem in Salem. They offer a large menu of different drinks, sweets, boba tea, regular teas, coffees, boozy coffees, and other food items. Every coffee Ive had from Jaho has been really tasty but comparatively to other cafés in the area, theyre not cheap. Prices can vary greatly and are normally on the pricier end. However, I do recommend JAHO if youre looking to treat yourself to a sweet coffee or try a new flavor combination!
Great coffee and a large variety of food and beverage options available. Daughter said the Nutella brownie was the best brownie she has ever had.
This place has really gone downhill since 2019 ish and it’s not even worth it for me to go anymore. Drinks are extremely overpriced and coffee tastes burnt, service is usually rude and pretentious for seemingly no reason, pastries have been stale, and they almost *always* mess up at least part of an order (speaking on behalf of myself and of friends).Multiple times in the past year, I have been with a party where someone (or myself) asked for non-dairy milk because of an allergy and ended up with a drink containing dairy milk, only for the employees to be rude about needing to re-make the beverage. Very bizarre.I’ve been an on-and-off customer since 2012 so I’ve unfortunately been able to measure the steady decline in quality and service. Just not worth the price for such a consistently haphazard experience. Seems to prioritize being a cool and hip tourist trap coffee shop than anything else. Genuinely not what it used to be and that is a shame.
Definitely go here! Loved my coffee, couldve been more coffee-e but tasty. Great vibes.
Food was very good. Service was very weird. On Jaho online I could order a quinoa salad and add tuna salad. In person, no such luck. “We only have tuna for sandwiches.” So I had to order a tuna sandwich without bread and a separate quinoa salad. The same cashier was draped over the cash register like she couldn’t hold herself up. When the milk delivery guy came, she told him to leave the gallons he was toting on the floor. The milk sat on the floor, unrefrigerated, the whole time I was there. Garbage cans were overflowing. But the food was good! Really!
Delicious coffee and pastries, helps a ton that it’s open until 11 and service was exceptional and welcoming
Had breakfast delivered and am hooked. Great breakfast and the chia pudding is delicious.
Great drip coffee! Bagel could use some extra pizzaz
Have to agree with those complaining about service. I rarely come in on my way to work but no one else in the area makes this particular drink I like, so every now and then I cringe my way through the process. Every time it even crosses my mind to stop there I wonder if I will be met with the cold disdain Ive come to expect but always with the hope, today will be the day they seem to have souls!. Not only do the people on staff act as if were inconveniencing them with orders, when they hide out back (not taking or making orders) they dont even seem to like each other. It is a truly miserable experience, entrance to exit, that undermines the pleasure I would otherwise get from the drink. The expensive drink. Not worth it. Oh and the pastries are bland, dry, and TINY. I can only imagine they sit until sold. Sold or mold. Since the cafe experience is nil, I suppose it will be cheaper to buy the ingredients myself anyways.
I’m a local. Have come here for years on and off. They need to clean up the place and hide all the boxes and open back up the side room. They make good drinks but the place just looks a mess and it used to be cuter. Baristas are hit or miss for friendliness and service. 🤷♂️
Over priced, food and drinks are ok. Service was a little rude on the day, and had a huge strand of hair in our pumpkin roll.
They use to be the best in town. They seem to have imported rude and condescending service from Europe who barely acknowledge your existence and their over priced iced coffee is so bitter its undrinkable. Ive met and brought many clients and friends there in the past, but after my last visit of 5 to give them one more chance, Im giving up.
Super cute. Lots of drink options from coffee, tea, boba, and alcohol (to go!!!) And great pastry options as well. This is the best coffee Ive ever had!
My Favorite coffee shop, above all the rest. Their coffees, snacks, food & Staff are All exquisite 👌😍. I recommend this coffee shop to every person I come across, and they all end-up Loving it. ❤
Lots of creative yummy drinks, plus treats! A nice place to relax or stop by for a coffee. The t-shirts rule too just sayin. Im so curious how you have a sister cafe in Tokyo? How did that happen? Neato!!
Dirty Pumpkin Chai soooo good!
FYI... the brown sugar bubble tea contains no tea. Youre paying $7.50 for a cup of milk with ice and brown sugar syrup in it... I called to ask them because I thought maybe they made it wrong and the lady on the phone told me theres no tea in that drink. If youre hopping on the brown sugar milk tea hype train AND you have the word tea in your store name, make the drink correctly please. False advertising... Now Im stuck with a large cup of sweet milk, who drinks this stuff??? 1 star for the cute cup with ears, but disappointment otherwise...
To the owners of the establishment can you start tipping your Instacart drivers better than 2$ or do your shopping yourself thank you
The coffee drinks and pastries are delicious. lots of outside seating available.
Jason gave us a wicked good time and we went there every day for 4 days he was so awesome!
The food is not bad at all. The only thing that bothered me was the fact that their milk tea is literally a huge cup of milk with boba at the bottom. And not just any milk, the milk that gives you stomach aches an hour and a half later.
Comfortable atmosphere, quick, pretty decent drinks, good prices.
Smells intensely of asiago cheese when sitting inside, you simply cant escape. Would have given 5 stars if it werent for the cheese. The scent has been stuck in my nose for weeks now, its absurd. Ive gone twice and the smell has been extremely stinky both times. Other than that great. (The scent seeps through a mask.)The first 15 minutes are fine until the cheese hits. Anyone else experience this unfortunate issue? Dont get me wrong, I love cheese, but this was just too much.
This quaint, unusual coffee shop in Salem, MA is a rare gem. Jaho Coffee Roasters has a variety of coffee & tea flavors. In addition to all of these, Jaho also, has wine. You will, also, find a wide assortment of cookies, cakes, and pastries. There are 2 more locations of Jaho Coffee Roasters. One in Boston and one in Newton. The best part is that there is dine-in seating and it stays open late! My favorite coffee shop ever!
Really enjoy the quiet hrs in the morningAnd the atmosphere is comforting g to me. Great place for coffee.
Had an OReilly cheesecake and a boozy iced pumpkin latte. Both were delicious
Took ages to get a coffee (barista was spending a lot of time on his cell phone) then it spilled because they are using the wrong lids, which they told me after it spilled on my shirt. Coffee was mediocre, biscotti was terrible.
Decent tea spot with friendly service. I reccomend the mango bubble tea.
Chill vibes. Good coffee. Good people
It’s not bad, the smoothies and locations good.
Better than Starbucks with a nice variety of food items which do not require a microwave. Try it.
I love Jaho! The Oreo cheesecake is my favorite, but my sweet tooth has enjoyed every pastry and dessert I’ve had! Thanks for being my after dinner go to
Luscious deserts. Great coffee. Eat inside or out. Nice place to relax and enjoy the street scene.
Not impressed.Drinks tasted sour.Desserts were okay but nothing special.EXPENSIVE!!!!
Can we have more than five stars? That’s what I would give Jaho. The coffees are amazing. BUT their Brazilian flan is to die for. I’m Puerto Rican and we are big on flan and I think they beat every flan I’ve tried. It’s insanely good.
Great little place with lots of bakery and coffee options
I went to Jaho for the first time last Sunday for a take-out order. It was coffee and several food items, about $30 order. When I arrived home, I realized they forget one item. I called and left a vmail message, explaining what happened, leaving my name, ph #, etc. That was six days ago, and have not heard anything from Jaho. I wont go back.
Very good coffee and selection of pastries. Just a little sticker shock for what it is.
So I ordered the most basic coffee. A Large Iced Mocha with cream and sugar and these people just couldnt get it right. From the eye rolls when I paid in cash, to the 15 minute interrogation/investigation about my coffee order when i simply asked if they could remake it. It tasted as if someone had given me a cup of water. I had my time wasted, 30 dollars wasted and I felt like I was being harassed because I wanted my coffee to actually taste like coffee. And the coffee remake was actually WORSE. And I didnt didnt mention the 9 dollar bacon egg and cheese that came out to be 1 strip of bacon, 1 piece of egg YOLK and 95 percent croissant. All in all just a bad, humiliating experience that left me just wanting to go back to dunkin donuts.
Great place for special brew coffee. Their vibe and atmosphere inside is amazing. Its chilled out and staff are amazing. The lighting is awesome for studying at night time with a relaxing feeling. Their pastries and coffees are delicious. They do have bubble tea here but its not the best. There is parking right in front of the store and across the street. Definitely check this place out if in Salem.
My favorite coffee shop in Salem to go to for chi
This place has the best drinks and treats and lovely staff!
Don’t get the bagel. Nitro comes with ice.
My son frequents this place during the school year and took us there for some coffee and breakfast pastry. Its a nice place, small. The staff are friendly. They have an excellent selection of beverages that even includes cocktails and wine on tap! Everything was delicious. The only drawback is that its pretty costly. My family of 4 spent $55 with tip... and my husbands beverage was a bottled water. Great atmosphere and neat concept, though.
Vietnamese coffee here is fantastic and food is great
Coffee is on point. Tastes so good and the pastries are fresh and crispy, cannot complain about it. At the same time, the team was not very professional. I would love to see more connection between them since some of them didn’t really know what they are doing. But overall, I would recommend it and I would visit again
The service was OK, but a bit slow. The girl who calls out names needs to yell out those names louder though. My sandwich was good, but the boba in my boba tea was the worst I have ever had. Really weird texture, like it was old.
A little cramped, but excellent variety of beverages and attentive staff even when busy.
Great coffee. Great food. Tends to be a bit busy... I suppose a consequence of being good
Went for a visit on this Tuesday evening (3/9) Ordered a few coffees for me and a friend a dessert to go. The woman behind the counter rolled her eyes at me for asking for a box or bag to take the dessert home in. She was extremely rude. During these stressful times, no one needs that attitude. Too bad, I always liked this place. Won’t bother spending my hard earned money to be treated that way. Plenty of coffee shops around Salem who would appreciate the business and are kind to their patrons.
Good coffee but the food is excessively overpriced for what you get.(Below added after the initial review)The owner was friendly and did speak to us after giving the review.I gave the following further comments. The menu doesnt list any prices which I think exaggerates any discrepancy between what is served compared to what is served. He asked what price I thought was fair for the food, which I initially replied $7 for the salad, but on further refection, I honestly think $7 is too high.
Ive been here several times at night and its always relaxing. Their coffee is very good and fresh, tea is nice and they offer a fun selection of alcoholic drinks. Big menu overall.. Make sure you try a warmed chocolate chip cookie! Looking forward to trying more items like breakfast sandwiches and the Japanese soft serve ice cream.
