This is a small lowoverhead custom little shop. If if want to get the good trick components and some good advice this is definitely worth checking out. They do service also. No bells and whistles. You enter from the ally. Lol There is parking in the area.

Not a bright shiny corporate store, but great if you know what you need. They have very reasonable prices and work quickly. The guys are laid back and have lots of experience.

Love this shop!!!!! I brought In an ok mountain bike which I had purchased used . It had been sitting in a garage for over five years with zero use and maintenance. I knew it needed major work and decided to completely overhaul the entire drivetrain. These guys replaced everything in little over a week. Every other shop I had called had said it would take two weeks to even look at it. These guys rock!!!!!

Been here for a general tune up and a couple minor repairs. Their prices always beat the competition, plus the service is fast and well done. Easy 5 stars. I dont go anywhere else. (also right next door to Old Soul! Grab a bite and a coffee while you wait). Velo Trap always leaves me with a huge grin and a happy bike

The guys at this bike shop are friendly and know what they are doing. I had a problem with my gears not shifting whole out on the American River Parkway Trail. Stopped by this shop and they cleaned my gears and fix my problem within 30 minutes and I was on my way.

By far the best bike shop in town. Very helpful and informative. Great selection of parts and full builds. I wouldnt go anywhere else. I brought two bikes I owned that had 4 flats to get repaired. I didnt know if they were flat or just out of air since they have been sitting. I left the bikes overnight at mine and their request to see if the tires would deflate on their own. They called me the next day and said they were ready and only 3 tires needed to be changed. Their integrity was top notch. Crazy part that the one tire that they didnt change exploded in the car like 2 blocks away. Brought it right back and they made sure everything was good and put a new tube in replacing my way older one. They didnt even charge me and handled it while they were getting kinda busy. Honestly I dont leave many reviews online but it was just one of that customer experience situations where every aspect of the service and interaction was so perfect it just left that wow factor to compel me to leave on.

Very tiny hole in the wall place. Everyone is experienced with what they do and its obvious that the business is very personal to the owners and such. If you are on the hunt for a high end fixed gear bike shop, I doubt theres many better places in the Sacramento area. Give them a peek.

Have my cycle for tune up service. They have me back the cycle within a day (within 5 hrs ). Looked good and some issues with derailer, brake adjustment were done well. May be it was my expectation... I expected the gears, chains etc to be cleaned - which was not the case. May be I should have checked upfront. I would definitely go again.

9/29/2018Just the other day the chain on my specialized stumpjumper snapped while I was just out and about. I was distraught and needed the repair to be done soon since I rely heavily on my bike for transportation around UC Davis. I looked around online and found this little gem. I had remembered seeing it whenever I went to Big Stump on the other side to grab a beer and thought Id bring my poor bike on over.Got there around 11 AM on a Saturday and I was quickly greeted and helped. Was in and out in about 15-20 minutes and the repair was MUCH cheaper than I had expected. With service like this, Ill be sure to be back for all my bicycle needs. Even though they specialize in vintage bikes and not necessarily mountain bikes, they knew their stuff and got me on the streets again and the bike feels even better than before.If youre looking for a good bike shop, this is your place!

Best Bike Shop in Sacramento that I have ever been to. This place has such a cool vibe with the setting it takes place in, and with its very helpful and chill employees. Their prices are really fair, where else other bike shops charge insanely high for easy stuff. Will only come to this bike shop for any upgrades or problems that occur to my bike to get it solved.

I came in today based on a recommendation from a climbing friend. Andron trued my wheels and made some needed adjustments to the derailleurs in order to prep my bike for a smooth commute. Super friendly atmosphere and conveniently located next to Old Soul, so I could hang out there during repairs. Definitely psyched to have checked out Velo Trap, and I plan on coming here for future work indefinitely.

Looking for honest repair and or sales? These guys cant be beat! With two teenage boys, the wear and tear on their bikes are constant. Not only do these guys do all they can to keep our bikes in great running order, they were great in helping us select a new bike, the 6ku....what an awesome ride and light as a feather! I only wish there were more stars to give.

These guys are so awesome. Super comprehensive bike repair. Told them I crashed, and that the bike wasnt shifting right anymore. They not only fixed the sifting problem, but went through the whole bike and found a bunch of other stuff I screwed up by crashing. And, they did it all in the same day. Prices are more than reasonable, and the space is pretty cool.

Found out about them through a Groupon deal. They are actually located in the alley behind L Street. The did a fantastic job bringing my husbands 20+ year old Peugeot road bike back to life. Very reasonable on price. Will be back.

The quality of the bike repair was good, I just came in with a 40$ Groupon for a full tune-up, but the problem is the whole thing ended up costing me an extra 100$ for labor or extra problems with the bike (which is reasonable), but it was ridiculous how much it costed me in the end. However, the repair was great, the service was fast, and the atmosphere of the shop was really nice.

I contacted the shop via Facebook to see if they had a part I needed. They didn’t, but they offered to order it for me and it was in their shop a week later. Great service and a friendly atmosphere. I’ll be coming back for my vintage bike needs! 10/10 would recommend.

Velotrap is honestly the best bike shop in sac. The owner actually cares about the customer and is not out there to take your money. My favorite part is there always willing to help you the same day !

The reviews are true.! I strolled into velo today to have my rear derailleur serviced on my full carbon time trial bike. The staff were easy to talk to and very knowledgeable. What I really liked about velo was that you get to speak directly to the mechanics there’s no middle sales person to deal with. I was very pleased with the work they did and how fast I was able to get my bike back. I will certainly visit again.

The place opens at 10 am seven days a week and will fill your tires with air for free. It is next to the old soul coffee shop (not a fan) in the alley. It is a bit hidden and you can only find it by lookong for the open garage door.

This is a sweet hole in the wall bike shop. I am very happy I found it. I will be going here from now on for all my bike needs.

This tiny bike shop is in Liestal Alley just north of Grocery Outlet and is soo much better now that Andron is running things Attentive staff with reasonably priced parts and service - this guy knows how to run a business. I normally wouldnt do this, but i went into City Bicycle works and had the absolute worst experience in retail in Sacramento. Some other events can be excused but CBW is not a place i would recommend go for your bike.Velo Trap is an awesome shop with awesome gear and knowledgable employees. The price may be up marked in places but youre paying for quality quality friendly service and reliable honest bike knowledge. Nobody is perfect but from what Ive seen these guys will go above and beyond where CBW will not.I recently purchased a Aventon Cordoba white WITH carbon fiber forks and even sprung for the real metal pedals - they told me what they thought about this bike, what it was good at, what it was bad at, and what could possibly be better. They also had a comparison point to very high end gear that made sense. The other guys literally told me, This is more expensive so thats why its better .... it has more gears. If you are looking for a place to find some cool street bike gear or knowledge for your ride, you will find it ...— at Velo Trap.
