Turned a simple saddle replacement into a nightmare. I asked them to return the guitar without strings and it was returned to me with strings that I was then charged for. The saddle was leaning forward noticeably and so I decided it wouldnt be a bad idea to get the strings off and have a look/restring it. I took the strings off and noticed that the saddle was not even glued into place. It fell right out. I noticed it was also shimmed by something underneath which seems cheap given they also shaved the saddle down to what was supposed to the perfect size (and apparently were not willing to try again with a new one after shaving this one too small). Strings are put on after the saddle is installed so the technician can measure the height of the strings/action. They can then take the strings off, adjust the saddle or action, then reinstall them and check again until the perfect height is reached. My guess is he strung it once after fitting the saddle in order to do some preliminary testing and got a decent sound out of it so just left it as is and called the job completed. Not happy with the job whatsoever after paying nearly 100 or more for it and being quoted around 60. Im not recommending this place to anyone in need of actual repairs or technical support and I will not be going back for any reason myself. I will find a new music shop. I had to glue the saddle in myself.

This store is crazy cool. I came lazer focused on a few mandolins I wanted to check out, and as I played them I kept seeing more and more incredible instruments that caught my eye. I did end up buying what I came to check out, but not before playing a dozen impeccable rare and vintage instruments. Also, excellent service and well maintained instruments. I frequent a few great music stores in NYC regularly and this one gave them all a run for their money! World class store, for sure.

Super nice store, they seem to stick mostly to guitars and ukuleles. There were many vintage instruments as well as some clothing item. Overall I was very impressed by how nice and helpful they were!!

I would choose this place over guitar center as they have over the top customer service, and they are only a few blocks away. Greg and Sam are great guys and every time Ive been in there, they were letting me try out different guitars (they have a good selection of Cordoba classical guitars), and they restrung a broken string for me on the spot.Guitar Center usually had a wider variety of instruments and large selection, but this store is my corner spot to take my guitar to.

Cant say enough nice things about this place! Great staff and great selection. I recently purchased a used instrument as a gift - there were some issues I noticed after taking it home, and when I brought it back in they offered to help get everything in shape. Definitely my first stop for anything musical instrument related.

A lovely shop with an amazing staff. I was on tour with my band Lollygagger from Chicago. I about suffered a joy-stroke upon seeing the insane collection of banjos, then another after learning that I could try whatever I wanted to. If youre in the area, dont be silly and pass this place up. Make the time to go, you wont regret it.

I have bought all my guitars from here. This service is excellent and friendly, and they help you to find the instrument that is perfect for you! I love that they give you many choices to chose from, and let you take your time playing the instrument. They treat you like family, and will help you out in anyway possible. If I could give this another 5 stars, I would give it 500 more!

I purchased a vintage mandolin from Bernunzio online and it was a great experience! The staff answered all my questions very thoroughly, supplied plenty of extreme close-up photos to help me decide, and did a fantastic job shipping the instrument to my home in Portland, OR. They also honored the sale price even though their sale had technically ended the day before. This is a great place to buy a high-quality instrument!

I called home of guitars and they were very walmarty with me. I went to Guitar Center and the salesman kept trying to get me to buy the expensive guitars, even though he could not answer what the difference was for a beginner. I called Bernunzio and they answered my questions and gave me straight talk. When I arrived, they recommended their entry level guitar, which I looked up and got very good reviews from. I chose a guitar and they noted that the neck needed filed down a bit. I would never have known this! They knew I was a beginner. They then gave me their showroom guitar that they already filed down a bit to make it smooth. They did not have to do this. But they did! If I buy more guitars, it will be from them!

I walked in to what I believe to be a musical heaven of some sorts looking for a specific violin rosin. Not only did they have the pretty specific rosin (GoldFlex) but they also have fairly eclectic instruments out for you to play and they sound awesome. Ever play a Dulcimer? Yeah me neither but I did. I walked out of there wanting to learn Mandolin, Banjo and maybe digeridoo?!

Outstanding customer service and store. Alex did a setup on my CS Strat and it came out amazing. Quick turn around and called to get more details on what was going on. I was also looking at two vintage electric archtops that they were more than welcoming to let me try. Although the guitars didnt fit what I was looking for its only a matter of time playing the right one. I was greeted promptly and friendly each time I entered their store. You can tell they have a loyal older following as their were several elderly gentleman jamming on acoustics and archtops by the seating area. If you are looking for archtops, acoustics, violins, mandolins and electric guitars (a few Strats and Eastman is their house specialty with a variety of ES335 types). They did have a 66 gorgeous 3TB Strat hanging for sale that I didnt play but admired the beautiful checking and vibe. Their prices are very reasonable for what high end and vintage gear they are selling. Well run music store.

We were on our way to visit my son and daughter in law near Albany when my wife told me she wanted to get me a guitar for Christmas. Ive been playing since I was twelve and still have the 1968 Guild D40 that my folks got me forty-some years ago, as well as five other guitars, a couple mandolins, ukes, a banjo etc., so she didnt feel comfortable buying just anything. I admit that Im picky. We went to shops all over the Albany area without any luck. I wanted something small and decent. Then we decided to try couple shops in Rochester on our way home to Buffalo. Bernunzios was a revelation. I picked up an Eastman parlour guitar. It was perfectly set-up, the staff knew their stuff, and the price was fantastic. Its not quite the beater guitar I had in mind (Is there such a thing as too beautiful?), but I left a happy man. The only problem was that I couldnt play it again until Christmas day. I havent stopped playing it since. Thank you Cindy, and thank you Bernunzios.

I looked all over the internet for a TKL case for my NOS Gibson Les Paul Special Plus and came across Bernunzio Music. Phenomenal price for a case of this quality so I called Monday and spoke to Julie- who confirmed the case was in stock (last one), called me back within the hour and we quickly placed the order over the phone. TODAY (Wednesday) I received the case FedEx. TWO days shipping!! The case is absolutely brand new and a perfect fir for my guitar. They dont know me from Adam and treated me like family- old school (much appreciated) customer service! THANKS- youve got another loyal customer! Brian Mentzer

I had a great experience purchasing a guitar for my wife here. I came into the store with my 8 year old daughter. I shopped around a few other local stores with her and the experience was stressful because the salesman all seemed to cringed as my daughter walked around the store thinking she may break something.(I get it, the last thing anyone wants is to see guitar dominos because of some rambunctious kid) But the gentleman at Bernunzios seemed absolutely fine having her in the store and even gave her a Ukulele to play with. Another thing I find at a lot of music shops is this sense of music snobbery. I grew up around guitars and have been playing for many years, but there are still a lot of things I do not know. Because I was buying for my wife and it was an important purchase for us, I had a lot of questions that probably come across as elementary. The gentleman that assisted me could not have been more helpful and patient (especially given the fact that I am a horrible person and I came in right before closing time). He was so gracious and knowledgeable that I assumed he was the owner (he wasnt). This shop just has the feel of a guitar players guitar shop. Great guitars, expert and friendly staff, decent pricing, and a cool city store vibe!
