I was most impressed with Greg whose looks reminded me of John Lennon. The staff is knowledgeable, most are musicians and they are very helpful. Bravo!

I went in the store around 8:30 in the morning and the salesman who was the only worked in the store, who had a strange small braid and was African American never said hello and remained on the phone the entire time. I didnt get his name and thats why I am describing what he looks like. I waited patiently at the counter with a guitar book that I wanted to buy but was ignored as I stood at the counter waiting for him to get off the phone when another call came in and he proceeded to answer another call. He knew I was standing there by the way. I then proceeded to ask h to cash me out and he stopped talking to make a comment to the person on the phone to say that I was an irrate customer. I told him that I had been standing there for at least 10 minutes and that I had to go to work. He began to raise his voice and was the irrate one. This had never happened. to me . I said. forget it and took my money back in my pjurse.
Store let me wait one month for ordered music to arrive before finally letting me know (once I called) that it was out of stock.Extremely late notice for time sensitive music that I needed to prepare for an event.Would appreciate if store clerks actually knew what music was in stock when ordered.Also noticed that store clerks do not have much experience with music at all. Do not recommend for higher level music purchases.Go to Atlas music.
If i could give less than one star i would, oboe i rented for a total of 14 days did not work — like at all, i talked to an employee over the phone who said it would take two weeks for them to fix it because they had no other oboes in store to exchange which is too long because i need the oboe now . i went in store because i was told there’s a 30 day return policy over the phone, however upon entering the store i was notified that i had to call customer service so i made the trip for nothing except to speak to a rude employee who didn’t care about the problem and find out my 248 hard earned dollars would not be refunded at the time of returning the oboe. thanks for nothing. update: i called customer service with no luck — she couldn’t do anything about the refund because apparently it’s a 7 day return policy instead of 30 day like the rude man in the store told me . this is a very deceptive company with terrible service . do not rent from here, absolutely terrible experience.
The store clerk will solicit with carefully chosen words to make you keep a rental for another year. Beware! Carefully review your contract before you agree. They will start charging you arm and leg monthly. I have called and emailed the main office with no luck.
I love this music store. This is by far the best music store in the Rochester area.The staff is super friendly and they will help you look for your instrument if your looking for one. I got a brand new Fox oboe from here and it sounded as good as new. It even came with a reed and a nice case. I cant picture myself going to any other music store on earth.
I chose music and arts to rent my 4th graders violin. I did not find anything deceptive about the process. I paid for the year up front in September and it is rented until June for one price with insurance. He broke it within a month by dropping it. I drove to the shop and they swapped it for an identical unit and had me out the door in ten minutes. As long as no surprises in June on the bill, we will return to this location to continue renting. This place is the bomb when it comes to music. I ordered a bass clarinet on a Wednesday and it arrived Friday at 10 am. Christy, Kathren, Derek, Chris are all very very very helpful, nice, caring. I would recommend this place to anyone who is interested in music. When you go if you go please give this place a 5 star review.
Havent even bought anything yet, but I walked in with the slightest interest in getting a bass, and the guy there (Eric I think) spent the better part of an hour basically teaching me the basics, different kinds of basses, pedals, amps, brands to avoid, and answered all my probably silly questions. He was also just generally really cool such that we talked about uke and banjo too. 5/5 customer service, I definitely plan to buy my bass there soon.
As a gigging musician and private instructor I have purchased 2 digital pianos, an acoustic guitar, countless accessories and today a Tenor Saxophone for my 6th grader all from Music and Arts in Pittsford Plaza. Why? Because the people, thats why. A knowledgeable and friendly staff (all playing musicians themselves) they are the key to great service, satisfied customers and ultimately my repeat business. Today it was Kristy Larkin who helped me weigh my options to rent, buy, or finance an instrument for my son and came up with a price for my budget and a payment plan that suited my personal plan for purchase, 90 days same as cash was best for me and my son has his instrument in time for his concert this week and Solo Fest in January, well done folks.

Went to the store to purchase a alto sax it was not in stock so they supposedly ordered it, two weeks later find out it was never ordered. My son needed it for school so purchased one they had in stock (not the one we wanted) brought it home and the g and a keys dont work, brought it back to the shop and they said we needed to upgrade the reeds, so we upgraded the reeds now three months later they want to charge us $100 dollars to repair the instrument that was sold to us broken.
