Ed was so comforting and friendly. He gave us honest advice on what to do with truck and was also great to talk to. Our truck was finished early and is running great.

No transmission work required.Id just had the car tuned and upper mounts et al a few scant week earlier. Could be they were busy.

Ed and his boys can pretty much do anything you need within a day. I called all over Seattle Renton and issaqhua for a blown cat and flex pipe. Every business was booked atleast a week out these guys got my car back to me in less then 24 hours. They work with you when it comes to payment and this is the second time I’ve used them the first time was cv axels and ball joints same deal they are fast and got my girl back to me in less then 24 hours. Repairs were done professionally and at a more than fair price. Ed in the office and Mike in the shop are great guys, would recommend coming here for any of your service/repair needs.

My vehicles radiator cracked. They took my car and made sure I knew all the steps that were being taken to make sure they could get me out of there as quickly as possible. As I was speaking about my work, a Veteran non profit that houses Veterans that are transitioning from Homelessness or incarceration, I learned that Ed was also a Veteran! Not only that, but a few employees of his are Veterans as well. Added with their professionalism and attention to detail, I will never take my car elsewhere. They’ve found a customer for life! I had recently bought a new vehicle and desperately needed a new transmission. When I entered I was greeted by the person at the front desk right away. I didnt have to wait for assistance and my car lingo isnt the best, they professionally diagnosed engine light probably and got to work right away. They got me the best parts for the best price and the price of labor wasnt bad either. I can proudly recommend anyone that needs work done on there car to come to aamco in Renton. Theyre definitely Grade A people with Grade A service.

I was worried about a leak in my transmission before a trip out of town. They spent a good hour cleaning the undercarriage of my truck, had me drive around for a couple days, then they checked again, no leak. Didn’t charge me a dime. Ed and Shawn are awesome!! I can’t thank them enough. They will never charge for something you don’t need!!

The manager Ed was a total slime ball. I was told transmission maintenance was 250 with no hidden fees or extras. There was nothing wrong with my transmission at all in the first place. He tried to charge me more than double for just changing the filter and pan, which is supposed to be included in the $250. When I verified that with the mechanic who worked on my car, Ed told the mechanic to go back in the garage. When I asked to see the invoice, he had the filter cost on it 3 times, which he removed the charge and said it was an accident. When I asked him to see the invoice for which he claimed he paid Orielys $400 for my transmission pan, he called Orielys instead and they gave him a price of $150 over the phone while I was standing there. He said he had to special order my transmission pan and it was expensive, $400, but refused to show me an invoice. Mind you I had no additional mechanic work performed on my truck other than the transmission maintenance that was under the services provided with their $250 standard transmission flush. They also said I were to get a free inspection of the vehicle, and a brake check which I did not receive. They also did not call me when my vehicle was ready.I called the cops but Aamco was closed by the time they showed up. He ended up dropping it to $500, I had no other option but to pay the $500 so I could get my keys and be able to commute with 3 kids and go to work. I took my old car parts and am in the process of a small claims civil suit. I highly recommend not using this location, especially if you are a woman.

Very accurate estimate for rebuilding the transmission on my Ford Expedition. Kept me informed via phone calls of minor changes. Was ready on day it was promised. They discovered a rusted out brake line and had new replacement tube manufactured since truck is so old none were available. Truck drives like new.

I had called them earlier this past week, when my car was making some strange sounds and my car gears were slipping. A gentleman by the name of Ed answered the phone and when I explained to him what my car was doing he was quite aware of the possible problems and reassured me to come in to them so that they could help me. Due to my situation with just obtaining a job again and the fact that my car was everything I was kind of scared because of how much things can cost but when I went in today on my appointment they were able to fix the car at no cost and I could not believe, it really shocked me to find that there are people who understand sometimes bad things happen to good people. But they are very professional and a very safe and good business to come to for help with your your car.

These guys are great. Had my transfer case replaced and it was leaking just a bit. Took it back and they found the issue and repaired at no cost. Have been here multiple times and always have a good experience. Reasonable prices too.

Bill was straight up with me and told me my car was FUBAR..needed a new transmision, struts, and over 6k worth of work. They diagnose it for free and he recommended a transmission flush and then to sell the car because it was going to strand me. I scheduled the flush and they went to look at it a second time..and he advised that it was completely screwed and he said he didnt want to take my money and waste my time . Very honest up front professional and sweet. He referred me to a used car lot that will do trade ins on junker cars. I ended up being able to trade mine in and get out from under it before it broke down. Very happy with the level of honesty and good service here. Most mechanics are downright crooks and thieves. I would reccomend this place to anyone. Reasonably priced too!!

This AAMCO provides excellent customer service and they were able to fix my car problems with a high level of quality and timeliness. The reason why I am giving a 3 star and not a 5 star is because my seat and carpet were stained with grease in the process. Normally I wouldn’t care, but I just had my carpet replaced and seats reupholstered. I’ll have to find a place to clean the carpet stains and seat stains.

I went in telling them that I thought my engine mounts needed replacing. They told me my mounts were fine, but that I had $1,000 of other things to fix. A week later I brought it in for that work to be done and after I paid them they said my engine mounts needed to be replaced and gave me a quote for an additional $1,500. It was really disappointing.

The most honest transmission shop around, I brought my 1996 Ford 4x4 in because of hard shifting.. They told me to fix my exhaust leak at my headers. I did. Transmission shifts perfectly.. they didnt charge me for the the advice. They are honest... Take your rig here.

Went in to have my AC repaired .waited twice for 6 hours with no results they couldnt diagnose the issue they where supposed to call me back when they haf there tank inspected. 2 weeks later no call Walt is unprofessional and I will not be going back to an ammco for services again.

They will go out of their way to make sure your vehicle leaves in good condition. They will probably do more work than they billed you for. Not youre average car shop. Theyve earned my loyalty.

Fantastic service. Went in for oil change, and they checked for fluid leak by request and gave me no nonsense answer about not finding anything. Then, gave general service advice *for future reference* even though Im not local, so just out of professional courtesy. Found that two of my tires werent fully inflated (heavier duty tires only inflated to rec. for lower grade tires). Also found and fixed a small issue with a non-mechanical RV part, again with no prompting.Price a little higher than others for an oil change, BUT totally worth it for the prompt, friendly, above and beyond service. Highly recommend!!Truly excellent service. Thank you!!

I have had work done in the past and was happy. The old front desk manager Bill was great and keep me informed all the way. I hate to say this but I took my truck to the shop with a starting issue, there is now a new front manager who is absolutely rude and lacks the knowledge to be working in a shop. I was told I had to replace the Battery and alternator. I had agreed to the work over the phone and spent $1500. After driving the truck for a couple days the problem was back same problem not resolved. I took the truck back to the shop thinking I would be taken care of and instead the new front manager said now I needed a starter. I would have been more than happy to do it during the original work but I was never told about the starter during my first visit. The owner ended up taking care of the starter at no extra charge. Although I did not give a 5 star review. Bill is now back in the shop and I believe Bill has 5 star knowledge, and customer service.

The transmission blew on our Tahoe last Friday and I had my Mom and 18 month old son in the car. I called and Doug got us to his shop with no problem taking side streets. When we got there, Doug gave us excellent customer service, even entertaining my toddler! His quote was accurate and the car was done before the estimated finish date. Great experience and highly recommended!

My car was one of those unicorn nightmare of a cases where it wound up spending the better part of 8 months at AMMCO due to bad engine(s). This wasn’t due to the shop though, but dealing with a warranty company that kept sending used engines, the car coming home, then going back to the shop when it was discovered that the engine was bad (which can’t really be known till it’s in the car and driven for a bit). Bill and his team kept working tirelessly at the engine and not only that, advocated for me with the warranty company till the car was finally truly fixed with a brand new engine. I’m happy to the report that the car drives better than I think it did even when I first bought it. Bill followed up several times after it came home and I know if something popped up in the future, that he and his team would be ready to tackle it (even though I’m sure they are as sick of seeing my car as much as I hate not having it with me).Side note: as big of a pain it is to deal with a warranty company, get the extended warranty when you buy a used car. It legit saved me tens of thousands of dollars.

This shop is awesome and Bill was terrific! I had to pop the clutch on my ride one day and I felt the first shop I went to provided a disatisfactory diagnoses due to their inexperience. I limped the car to AAMCO and Bill took it one step at a time until he was able to determined that it was in fact the battery. First place was way off - glad I trusted my instincts.

I believe in second chances and redemption and after I posted my initial review yesterday, AAMCO has definitely shown that they are striving for excellent customer service and customer satisfaction. Since there were outstanding issues with his car, my boyfriend brought it back this morning and was met by the new manager, Jim. He talked with him for a long time and worked with him to address the issues as well as a resolution to the issues I had raised in the review. My boyfriend called me extremely happy after his conversation and with a huge sense of relief. He gave Jim many kudos for his communication and honesty in addressing the issues. He also said that he appreciated the fact that the owner Vince, cared enough about the review, to make sure that these issues were addressed and resolved. They had one of their lead mechanics get the stains out of the car and are working on resolving the problems at hand. Given their actions and Vince and Jim’s quick response, I will definitely reconsider sending our fleet trucks their way. I look forward to seeing the progress under the new ownership and with Jim as their GM, I know they will make leaps and bounds! Thank you guys for taking care of this! It is greatly appreciated!

Do yourself a favor and find another shop to do the work. The shop manager is not managing anything but how to get out of doing a good job. I wish I would have got a manual and did the work myself. The mechanics are hacks. My car will never be the same after they messed it up. This is by far the worst customer service I have ever had.

Nasty management, the check engine light came back after they say they fix my car. I had to go to the dealer pay and find out they didnt do their job. I took back to them . I was received by a hostile manager who didnt want to fix the problem. I might wind up in court. I dont recommend any one to be shafted. I would avoid this shop at any cost. They dont provide free check engine light diagnostic, its a deceptive way to lure people to their shop.After I wrote this review there has been a new management team. They contacted me and offered to repair my car, not only did they offer to repair my car They treated me as a VIP. Their approach to the past problems is amazing their focus is now on customer satisfaction they are trying to repair the damage done to the franchise.I recommend any one to visit the shop and get honest service.

Im not new to clutch problems. I know the symptoms and how to fix a clutch that is failing. It takes a lot of work and isnt the cheapest thing on the car. I was quoted around $3000 by several different repair shops and dealerships for the replacement clutch on my 2015 WRX STI. Along comes AAMCO with a killer $1600 deal and a warranty for the work. Not only did they cut the competition by almost half. They had me in and back on the road in only 1 day. Dealerships and other shops had me out of my car and in a rental for around a week for the repair.

Bill is a great guy(Probably the first person to answer the phone when you call). Every single little thing theyve given me, advice, etc has all been genuine. He lets you know immediate concerns, as well as things that can be put off. Never tries to upsell, and also has quite a sense of humor. Thanks a ton Bill, and the rest of Aamco.

I knew I had surpassed the lifetime of my brakes, but had been procrastinating taking my car in because I knew there were other things wrong with my car as well. I bought an amazon deal to have my brakes serviced at Aamco in Renton – I got my car in just before they closed on Monday night, and despite closing up they still gave me great customer service and promised to have my car ready the next day.I received a call on Tuesday where they explained the extent of wear I had done to my brakes which I wasn’t surprised about since I knew I had waited too long. I also knew that my rear shocks were leaking, and they gave me a quote much lower than I previously received from another establishment. My brakes light was also on, and I was having troubles with my speedometer – they ended up replacing my alternator which solved the problem!Obviously going in for a brake job, I ended up spending more money than expected – but it was all things that needed to be done. Doug was extremely helpful, and honest – making sure I understood exactly what was being done especially because I am not very knowledgeable about cars. Never once did I feel pressured to have additional things taken care of – but instead received such great customer service, that I felt like it was the best decision.Overall, I got all of the things done that I continued to put off at a great price – knowing that I only went in there to have my brakes fixed, they made sure that I was comfortable with the total price. I will definitely be going back there for all future car related problems.

I took my car in for some vibration I was feeling in my brakes. The place was really busy but guys in the shop gave the car an inspection and walked me through the issue with my rotors. The brake job was complete that afternoon even with the multiple jobs in the shop. Overall a great job and the brake pads are warranteed for life. I know my previous garage did offer that coverage. recommend.

I took my car to another shop several times to figure out what was causing the horrible intermittent noise under my hood. The other guys would look at it briefly and tell me that there was nothing wrong. However, they were happy to point out other very expensive things that needed to be done to my car.I took my car to AAMCO in Renton and after their spending quite a bit of time troubleshooting the problem, they found that my alternator was in the the early stages of failing. They were able to replace it for less than they quoted me and resolved the problem the first time.Thanks to the folks at Renton AAMCO for your courteous and prompt service.

I took advantage of two different deals that AAMCO furnished the market with, one with Amazon for my Cadillac and the other with Groupon for my Infinity. Everything went smoothly on the Cadillac but on the Infinity there was a clear miscommunication with a new employee on the timeline and price of the total brake job. I spoke with the manager of this location and he bent over backwards to make it right and earn my business going forward. Being a business owner I know that retails use these deals to attract an ongoing loyal relationship with customers so the deal that they lose money on turns into future profit on ongoing service. They have earned my future business and thank you for doing a stellar job on both my cars! If youre looking for a fantastic brake job with great service, look no further.

Aamco really surprised me, here. Being ‘broke-down’ in the parking lot of a nearby Hotel, my needs were unique and specific. Bill and his crew are an absolute beacon in a field wrought with deception. It’s not so much what he did, although it’s done fine and even beat his own estimate by about 5-6%. What he did not do is side-step any questions or attempt to mislead. Here temporarily; that was a huge concern. I’d send anyone there, feel great about it, and they do well at plenty more than transmissions. Thanks a ton, Aamco, Renton!!

This has to be the absolute WORST repair shop on the planet. To begin with, customer service and customer satisfaction are two phrases that are not in their vocabulary. Not only did they not fix the problem with the transmission, but the man at the front desk, very rudely I might add, acted as if he was doing me a favor by giving my car back in worse condition than it arrived. In fact, he actually said the words, Im doing you a favor! Im going to return that favor by letting everyone know that if you take your car there, you will be disappointed, angry and without a running vehicle. You will most like not see your car for months and when you do, I guarantee you will be beyond angry. If I told you the entire saga, you probably wouldnt even believe it, it was that outrageous. Do yourself a favor and just keep driving to a reputable repair shop!

Worst experience ever. Crooks. They charged me $3000 and did not do the job correctly, when I took it back they moved my car to another store where it was broken into and thousands of dollars worth of personal items were stolen. They refused to reimburse me, refused to fix the problem unless I paid $250 more. I reluctantly paid, and they again did nothing, when I complained they refused to do anything and eventually had my car towed. Total cost was over 3750 out of my pocket and the problem was never fixed. The owner is a liar and does not stand behind their work. They hire and fire people non stop. I dealt with over 10 managers. This is hands down the worst business experience I have ever been through. CROOKS
