I just have to holler from the roof top how great this little gem of a coffee shop is. When I travel I love to support local businesses, especially coffee shops. We were hooked after the first visit, the coffee was great (Autumn spice latte) was amazing. They have great vegan options for breakfast and lunch, my whole family loved it we went back a few times during our stay. (even drove 35mins just to have breakfast one more time before we left) The staff was nice and friendly. Until next time.
The decor and service were great. The online menu, however, does not reflect their current offerings. I walked there to get a hearty vegan meal and was disappointed to learn that they had none of those options anymore.
Ate the Chipotle Chicken Sandwich and a (non-nitro) cold brew. The sandwich included plain chips and was a well portioned size (I ate about 2/3rds at the restaurant and had the rest as a snack later). The flavor and consistency of the sandwich was superb. The cold brew was also a pleasant surprise, being significantly better than both Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts.
A great artisan coffee shop is always a pleasure to find!! This shop has service that is like being with family members. The care and dedication with this staff is so nice. We spent 4 days in rapid city and each morning this was our stop. Whether it was the home made raspberry pop tarts or the scones, they were very delicious. The coffee was incredible as was the tea (for our tea drinker). Each morning we were able to sit relax and piece together our days ahead.... the cool VW was identical to the one my “retired army” father had.... so it really brought a homey feel each time we walked into the shop!!! You’ll love this staff for sure!!
Okay, hugeee shout out to my Grandma for discovering/ bringing me to this place- it’s worthy of being called a hidden gem!For any of my dreamy coffee shop lovers who always want to find the local place with the best vibes, well Harriet & Oak has got to be a Rapid City stop! It is super adorable- there’s a big open area decorated kind of modern/ farmhouse style, as well as an upstairs area that’s a lot more intimate. And something really unique about them is the big VW Volkswagen that’s hanging out in the middle of the shop! And (not during covid times) you can even sit in it and eat, if you’re so lucky! Not only does Harriet & Oak win the looks game, but I was super impressed with the food and drink as well. I tried an açaí bowl, which at coffee shops can be iffy whether it’ll actually be high quality or not. But it is confirmed that this one was absolutely fantastic! It was so good that it made it into the best ever list- one of the best açaí bowls I’ve had yet! The smoothie base was just perfectly made and I don’t know, somehow it was just superb and I didn’t want to share it.The coffee was the same quality as the açaí bowl. I tried the peach cobbler latte (yep, it was a real thing), and just by hearing the name you can probably guess why I got it- because why not? And it was probably about as good as a peach cobbler latte could be expected to be. I liked it but probably wouldn’t get it again. My grandma got the Black Forest latte, and in a direct quote she said it tastes like a, “warm cuddly blanket in front of a roaring fire.” So anyways. Harriet & Oak is the real deal, and will be on my list of must stops for future Rapid visits!
Was on vacation with my sister and we found this place. One word: delicious! We liked it so much that we ate breakfast there twice. Both times, I had the bacon, egg, and gouda cheese croissant and oatmeal with fresh fruit. I would highly recommend ordering these two items. Im not a coffee drinker but my sister enjoyed their coffee, and my dad loved the coffee beans we brought home for them. Definitely worth a visit!
Very good design sense in here, I was pleasantly surprised. Besides eating granola here, you can also observe the local Rapid City granola women. If you see a water bottle covered in outdoor gear stickers with no scratches or signs of wear, polyester pants with webbing belts, five panel hats, or Nature Back T-Shirts (specifically long sleeve cotton either white or beige), you know you are in the right place. I am not sure what the political demographics here are, but I am guessing that 75% of the liberal population of Rapid City is in this coffee shop at any given time. Food is good too.
I had a great time with a good cup of coffee. the place is cozy and chilling, not too crowded in the Friday morning.
Harriet and Oak is the very best breakfast eatery in the Black Hills! Excellent selection of coffee and tea drinks, breakfast and lunch meals are both delicious, and the very best golden latte Ive ever had! Aaron and the staff here have completely nailed ambience and aesthetic. The vibe is open and welcoming. Youll want to stay and work and meet the locals.
Solid breakfast options with an early opening time. The atmosphere is hip and the decor is open and airy. Its got seating upstairs on a mezzanine level. One of our coffees (latte) wasnt the best but that could have been a one-off. I would give it another try. The food, on the other hand, was very good.
Delicious! Great latte (oat milk available), the homemade granola and yogurt was so so good. The bagel was unlike any bagel Ive had before, so soft! Great spot overall with a few tables outside in case you are like me and like grabbing something to eat w your dogs in tow :)
Very cozy and great food to boot. Incredible customer service and great prices on food.
Showed up ten minutes before and the kitchen was closed. I understand it’s close to closing, but that was severely disappointing. Especially since I only wanted an açaí bowl.
Im fortunate to live very near the restaurant, which means its a easy go to place to impress visiting family and friends. The food is flavorful, the portions on point, and the atmosphere/astetics are comfortable. All of this without being ridiculous on the wallet.
Very busy place but the workers are super friendly. Food is very good, drinks are okay.Price is average.
Love the coffee, love that you can sit in or out, love the positive attitude! Oh, and the cream cheese frosting on the carrot cake is decadent and oh, so delicious.
Making my living on the road, I always seek out new and interesting spots to have a cup of coffee. This is got to be one of your stops when you get to Rapid City, SD.As a roaster, they pay close attention to quality because they are serving the product of their craft. And what craft is better than a perfectly created a cup of coffee. There is ample seating, and a very friendly and open atmosphere. The baristas are friendly and anxious to provide coffee. We chose the creative seats inside of the Volkswagen bus. A wonderful experience.
Stopped in for the first time today. The breakfast sandwich and coffee were wonderful. Staff was super friendly. Great place to meet up with friends or do some work. Chill vibe, highly recommend. Will definitely be back soon.
Good coffee and great service. The Blueberry Bingo iced tea was very good. The employees were very helpful and friendly. Did not order any food, but wht I saw looked good.
Very sweet and accommodating! Clean and amazing food. Must check out!
I get the veggie bowl. Fantastically delicious, fresh, a treat to the eyes, body and soul. $10 is fair. I get water but they have coffee and tea. Next time Ill probably try the matcha latte. Sounds interesting. Im a foodie and I care deeply about what I put in my sacred body. Yum, yum, and yum.
The coffee is fantastic but the acai bowls keep me coming back. Try them out!
Outstanding oatmeal and acai bowls! Fresh ingredients, great flavors, and even presentation is outstanding.
This shop is a five star through and through, including its food, drinks, and service. The coffee and tea were so good, we chugged them as quickly as we could to get refills for the road. And the refills were free! There were a lot of vegetarian options, and we opted for the açaí bowls. One of the best Ive ever had. The atmosphere was also very chill. Great place to stop!
Best latte Ive ever had! The food is also great. Highly recommend!
This place was great...best coffee and food for our breakfast before heading to Mt. Rushmore. Very cool vibe and the staff (male with black hair/hat) was super friendly/welcoming.
Great place for healthier food options.
Iced Carmel macchiato is one of the best in town! Also great atmosphere for a coffee shop although can get busy on weekends during popular hours.
Very good vanilla latte. Excellent raspberry and white chocolate scone!
Cute place for lunch. The sandwiches and burritos with eggs don’t have much flavor. The salsa is extremely mild. Food would be way better with seasoning and hot sauce.
A great place to hang out with lovely menu items (including gluten-free options), a cool atmosphere, friendly staff, and very clean.
Super friendly and upbeat vibe! 10/10 would recommend!
Delicious breakfast burritos and pasties! Good coffee as well. Cute coffee shop and a must stop on your way through Rapid City!
Ive been here more than my fair share of times and always enjoy the atmosphere. The quality and effort they put into their foods and drinks is what keeps bringing me back.
Fantastic cold brew and a wonderful breakfast sandwich. Highly recommend.
Great little shop in downtown Rapid City for eclectic sandwiches and coffee!! It was a great find!!
Great place to stop to share some good coffee and conversation. Im originally from New York so this made me feel at home. Very homey SoHo feel to it. The coffee and beverage options are wonderful and their avocado toast is amazing! Theyre always friendly and it is just a great place overall.
Acai bowl was delicious and the burrito was tasty. I think its a little overpriced espically for the wait
We loved this place. They had a great menu. The service was quick and friendly. The coffee was very good and came out almost immediately. My wife and I both had a breakfast sandwich that came out quickly and was hot and fresh and was wonderful. The building was eclectic and clean. We ordered sandwiches to go for our trip because we e enjoyed the breakfast so much.
Get a cup of coffee and a good sandwich
Sophisticated. Good coffee, cakes and decor.
I wouldnt definitely recommend this place. The breakfast was delicious with great coffee in a cool atmosphere.
Good coffee, great atmosphere. Sad they got rid of the dragonfruit smoothie bowl, it was so good! My favorite place in town to get a plain latte. Orange mocha is good when they have orange syrup available.
Cute coffee house with healthy breakfast options.
Nice atmosphere, but terrible drinks. Ive been here twice with my friends and they messed up all of our drinks everytime. The honey rose latte tasted like rum, the chai latte tasted like hot milk (no chai flavor at all), the mocha was bitter, and the breve tasted like straight milk. 10/10 do not recommend
Excellent coffee. Best in Rapid City!
Lovely spot. Got a simple pour over cup, tasted delicious. Great ambience without feeling pretentious. Staff were excellent, attentive, and friendly.
Got a basic French press coffee and it was delicious. The inside is cozy, I could stay for hours.
My chai tea was really good and the bagel was warm and chewy (perfect!).
Very chill place. Also, everything things good there.
Its super cute with a very calm atmosphere. The seating is covid safe. Its the perfect place to go for brunch. We got our food pretty fast and it was amazing. You definitely get what you payed for. They have everything from coffee to sandwiches and açaí bowls. I really suggest that if you havent been here it needs to go on the bucket list.
Very good coffee and food
We were visiting Custer and stayed in Rapid City our first night. We decided to pick Harriet & Oak for breakfast based on their great reviews and were not disappointed. The staff were friendly (and all wearing masks which was a plus for us), food and coffee were great ( get the apple & bacon jam sandwich) and prices were reasonable.
This is my favorite espresso bar in town, hands down! Their espresso is so smooth and rich. They have an amazing, house made, almond milk and a fabulous selection of loose teas and food items. Comfortable atmosphere with fun after hours events.
This shop is absolutely amazing! Very cool interior design, it’s industrial with a hint of modern. The staff is very friendly and personable. I tried the mushroom and guyere quiche and hot caramel macchiato. The quiche was just enough to fill me up quickly, was warmed perfectly, and tasted amazing. The caramel macchiato was sweet and very flavorful, just what I like! This might just be my new morning stop before work 🤩
Such a fun space in downtown Rapid City to grab a cup of coffee or lunch with friends! The service is great and everything I’ve had is delightful!
Very cute!!! Loved the verity of items
The atmosphere and scenery here is the pull. The coffee and espresso were yummy and the breakfast options are quite filling but not super expensive.
Love the London Fog!
Very friendly service! Our lattes were delicious as were our waffles. Additionally, it was very affordable. I would highly recommend.
Outstanding coffee, best in Rapid City.
Rustic, charming coffeehouse and more in Downtown Rapid City.
The food was great, absolutely no complains whatsoever. It fits all ages and has a great menu. The design of the place really just completed my experience. This place is very affordable and I will definitely go here many times Again!!
This was our 3rd visit in the past year and a half. It wasnt good then and it still hasnt gotten better. The place was cold the servers were not very efficient when it came to food orders. It took atleast 10 min for them to give us our food. Our food constant of a scone that was from the counter. Had to ask for silverware and napkins. Music was too loud for anyone to visit across the table. Wouldnt recommend this place.
