Over the years, I have purchased several cars from a variety of dealers. My experience at Liberty Hyundai is one of the best experiences Ive had-- despite the vehicle shortage. Some of the things that I really appreciated include:1) No surprises. There was no effort to add-on gimmicks like window etching, brake light packages, etc.2) Low Pressure. The negotiation process was smooth and straight forward. Although items such as extended warranties, GAP insurance, and other items were available I never felt pressured to purchase.3) Low Doc fee. The $250 document fee was shared with me up front and is competitive compared to other dealers Ive worked with.4) Respected my time. The transaction and paperwork went smoothly and took about an hour. Sometimes buying a care can cause one to feel like theyve been rung through the wringer. It was refreshing to leave excited about my purchase and knowing that I had been treated fairly.4) knowledgeable Sales staff: I worked with two professionals, Donte and Layne. Both were very responsive, accommodating, and professional.Id buy another car from Liberty Hyundai in a heart beat.
I was upset having to wait for a month to get my vehicle serviced. I was told I can go to surrounding areas who have certified Hyundai mechanics, which are like 2-5 hours away!Hopefully they can hire more mechanics.

Shortly after purchasing my vehicle from Liberty Chevrolet in Sturgis (thank you Cody Weber!) I received a recall notice on my 2018 Tuscon Limited Turbo. I phoned Liberty Hyundai in Rapid City immediately to set an appointment. I was notified that the vehicle was listed for the repair as soon as it came onto the lot a month prior. WOW thats what I call superior customer service as I didnt have to wait several months for the part exchange. We were traveling through the area and our Palisade was due for its first maintenance. We still had around 1800 miles before we would be home so I called to see if I could get in for service. Rainy was able to squeeze me in the next morning and in about an hour I was back to enjoying the area with my family.
Although we didnt end up purchasing a vehicle from Liberty I wanted to share my great experience with Chris Leak. We were interested in two different cars that happened to be at different lots. He arranged to have them at the closest lot to my workplace, had the cars backed up near the front door and ready for a test drive. Cant say I have seen better customer service than what I had with Chris. He made a great impression on us!
Requested an Instant Cash offer for my 3 Year old Diesel Truck with 23k miles on it, through Kelly Blue Book. (The demand for used diesel trucks is extremely high right now.) Liberty Hyundai responded, as a participating dealer, immediately with a slightly interesting offer. The Salesman from there call, emailed and text me repeatedly to bring in my truck, saying they could probably get me a better offer. I finally went in and was SHOCKED! The man that makes the offers on vehicles spent about 3 minutes on my truck, before sending the salesman over to tell me that my one owner, all dealer service, maintained, all records, impeccably mint 2017 GMC 2500 Diesel Denali with only 23k miles, was really worth ***$5000 less than the offer THEY sent me. They really didnt want to honor the low offer they made online.*** Then why in Jesus name would you beg me to waste my gas and time to lie to me like that? Because they are dishonest. This was the most rude and disrespectful I have been treated at a Dealership in my 40 years of buying and selling vehicles. ***If they treat someone of my experience, age and intelligence like that, can you imagine how much they rip off young inexperienced buyers and sellers.*** People (Especially Young people) should really avoid this Dealership.
I posted a review. Not sure where it went. Just want to say I was treated with respect and then some. Day after Christmas I was leaving to come home to Wisc. My Hyundai Santa Fe gave up on me. The transmission and gearshift worn out. Long story on vehicle purchased at a used car dealership in Wisc. Arggggh. I had to get home, so I bought a brand new vehicle. The Hyundai Venue. I first saw it and said dont even show me that green thing its ugly😆. I crawled into a Elantra and said forget it. Not for me. Walking back by I decided to sit in the ugly green thing. I like it. Its actually a pretty green apple fleck color. 20 miles on odometer. My very first NEW vehicle. Rides comfortable. Have to learn all the gadgets. Wonderful warranty.👍👍👍 John, sales consultant (now) was wonderful and patient with me. Very helpful, fun, and carring. Thank you Liberty motors. Great experience.

Originally was very happy with the purchase until they did not follow through on all the verbal promises they made on what would be fixed. They outsource much of their repairs and blame the other shops for delays and miscommunication. When wanting promised repairs done, some were not written into the purchase so there was nothing they could do. Very happy with the truck I bought but as soon as its sold, so is their customer service. Not the way I like to do business. Ended up going to the Toyota dealership to get repairs done out of pocket.
My sons car broke down and I was told it needed a new engine. I live in MO and he moved to South Dakota just in time for this to happen. Rainy at Liberty Hyundai put my mind at ease. Her communication was top notch and I highly recommend her for anyone needing repairs. She is excellent!
I know what most people think of car dealers but Mike in the Liberty Hyundai sales department and Rainy in the service department have made me throw out everything I thought I knew about car dealerships. I will definitely be going here for a long time.

My car broke down while on a road trip through SD. Major issue with the engine. The lady (I feel horrible I don’t remember her name) was amazing. She was polite, knowledgeable, and very nice. She kept me updated and in a very timely manner, knowing that I was from out of town. Especially amazing during this weird/difficult time. I could go on and on about how helpful she was and how better she made me feel during a bad situation.

I am very happy with this company. Veronica did a good job keeping me in the loop and getting me information that I needed until I could make the trip down there to do the trade. There was a misunderstanding somewhere along the lines but Sheridan made it right. We came to an agreement and he decided that its better to keep the customer happy than it is to make a substantial profit. Not very many companies these days keep their word with this company does. Very impressed

Brought the Mazda into service with battery issues thinking the warranty would cover. We get an oil change and they never mentioned before they begin the work that the warranty only covers battery replacement. Great way to get a couple bucks. We could have charged it ourselfs. Definitely going somewhere else for service from now on.

The staff in the service department is always amazing, its nice when they see you and call you by your first name and say, hey hows it going. They never do anything new without checking with me first, now thats fast, friendly service and always done with a smile.
Got a real gem back in parts, Amber was super helpful every time I called trying to resolve the issue with my Sonata. May not be the closest Hyundai dealership to where I live in Wyoming but is definitely the most helpful. I will definitely be bringing my business back to Liberty.

I just got a new Genesis. I did this by starting on line, living several hundred miles away, getting the car sight unseen but for photos. Johan and everyone there was extremely helpful. The car is perfect. And so was the help. Plus, they did a price that nobody else could do. Today (Sunday!), I got the car. Thank you Johan and everyone there.

Bought a vehicle here. Was told by the sales person I wouldn’t need a title and the new one would be made for me in the new state. I thought this sounded weird but he sells cars for a living so he should know better than me. Nope... They sent out the title via certified mail on May 15th when my temp tag expired May 20th. Then after the first failed attempt and an hour in the DMV line I get the mail and find out that they filled the title out incorrectly. If you’re out of state make sure you know everything you’ll need. Don’t let these guys convince you against your intuition. Classic BS...

While road tripping from the Badlands in route to Yellowstone, we managed to tear apart a rear shock. They got us in right away, found us the parts and had us back on the road in 3 hours. Everybody was friendly and pricing was reasonable.
