Been wanting to visit this store for sometime now so I finally did it today and hands down the americano and the creamy roast of their coffee was just top notch! The atmosphere inside was great too, soothing music and the decoration of the store adds to it. A great place to hangout, study, or bringing your date! I enjoyed the time I spent there and would definitely go there again with friends or for studying. The employees were cheerful and nice and the service was quick as well. Overall, great service and a good place to just hangout.

Great interior, and the staff was way cool and kind! We had a yummy irish coffee and a waffle, which we added whipped cream, bananas, and strawberries to. We also got a breakfast sandwich which was immaculate, and a drink called “The Ginger Slap,” which was above and beyond delicious. We had a really great time. Our food also came with watermelon slices, not sure if this is an all the time thing or a seasonal side but we appreciated the extra watermelon too. Thanks Sir Walter Coffee :-)

I absolutely love this place. I just came back for my fourth trip and tried the London Fog. This was a fantastic drink! I love the workers here, they are very friendly and helpful when making a decision on what to order. Another thing I appreciate about this coffee shop is that everything is the the $4-5 range for most drinks. The atmosphere is what brings me back. It is good for meeting with someone or also doing remote work. I will definitely be making regular trips back. The only down side is that it is difficult to find parking but there is free parking down the street. Also they have a rewards program here through Clover.

Awesome coffee shop, a lot of seating of different types both inside and outside and plenty of options for drinks. Ideal for working in a coffee shop with your laptop, but also good for meeting up to chat with a friend or two.

This place is really good and the staff is friendly! Their espresso drinks are really good, I am use to the bitterness of espresso, but this coffee shops espresso wasnt bitter at all. I really love their drinks and would highly recommend it.

Definitely a hang out. The shop was full without being crowded, lots of people working, studying, chatting. Staff was really funny and willing to make recommendations.

I don’t know if I was here on an off day or what, but the coffee is just not good. I ordered a French press coffee and it tasted like water. My husband thought the same. I asked them to replace it with a cold brew, which they did. But that also tasted like water. His food was good, but the coffee was not either. So that’s 0/3 drinks that were good. The staff are nice and good vibes inside, but in a coffee shop I’m coming for good coffee, and did not find that here.

Lactose intolerant? They have THE best almond milk latte in town. Seriously, its smooth, never burnt, and has the lightest layer of foam. The staff are fun and always put a smile on my face. This coffee shop is my favorite next to Cocoa Cinnamon in Durham.

Nice spot for an ice coffee and a bagel. Great outside spot to sit in the morning in the shade with the pup. Nitro was smooth as silk, I should have asked for a little less ice as Id like more coffee at the end of the day 😆. Definite return spot in downtown Raleigh.

Sir Walter Coffee does not get the hype that it deserves.Granted, no one is sleeping on it, but this place has so much going on for it--> bar seating, vibes, funky cool modina, indoor/outdoor, food, coffee, coffee cocktails - both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, beer, and other drinks.Their coffee cocktail concoctions are, what I think, makes this place exceptional. An Innovative and creative drink list that is executed perfectedly.There are two locations that I know of. Downtown Raleigh and downtown Holly Springs. Its always laid back and always suitedable for whatever.🤘🏼

My first time at Sir Walter Coffee, though its a favorite of my daughter, who works as a barista at the museum. It was fantastic! The ambiance is stellar, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating to maintain safe distance for COVID-19. The staff was super friendly; Rimi & David provided excellent service!! I had a Sir Walter favorite, The Walter Raleigh. Its a decadent, shaken cold brew with mocha and vanilla sweet cream; perfect for a hot and humid Raleigh day. Bonus - theres free street parking directly out front, unexpected downtown, but a pleasant surprise. Ill definitely visit Sir Walter Coffee again.

I will be back! Tried their signature Sir Walter Raleigh cold brew drink with the peanut butter and it was delicious, as was the avocado toast with egg. They forgot to make my food at first and when I reminded them they gave me a free drink AND an extra piece of toast (which were huge) to make up for the delay. Super friendly folks and tasty food and drinks. Also a great ambience.

I live at the Edison so this coffee shop is very convenient for when I dont just want to drink regular coffee in my apartment. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is great. I love it here.

———Update:Went back and ordered another cappuccino. It was all around much better! Added new froth photo. 5 stars———-This place is good. Great location and friendly staff. My rating is more about the coffee given this is a coffee shop. The coffee leans more towards a dark roast for sure. I got a cappuccino and was a bit disappointed in the poor frothing. (See photo) Could use some attention on that front. I’ll definitely give it another try to see if this was a fluke.

Perfection! My first visit to this shop I order a large hazelnut latte with foam. Simple enough, and the barista with the awesome eyeliner just casually creates on of the best lattes Ive ever had! Wish I got her name!

Yeah not sure why this is rated so well. Their coffee station is kinda gross and their barista didn’t care at all. Didn’t even tamp half of the espresso orders while we stood there waiting for our coffee.

Sad to see the WIFI policy change. For people who are working or doing school work using WIFI, especially travelers who need the space, I do not recommend this coffee shop. Staff is always awesome, but this change speaks to the owners not caring much about their customer base. One hour of wifi per purchase is ridiculous and not viable. Will not be returning.

Sir Walter Coffee is as solid of a coffee shop as you are gonna find. Cozy indoor seating and good tunes are a staple there. Great for getting work done or as a first stop for a night out. The teas are tasty and the coffee is fresh. Get the Vietnamese iced coffee topped off with cold brew. It’s the tastiest rocket fuel you’ll ever drink.

Great place for a classic macchiato. I come here 1-2 times a week for meetings and to get work done.Ample parking nearby on the street and there are a couple parking decks close by.The outdoor seating is nice, except in the evenings the sun can be rough.Inside is great for meeting new people and for having one on one meetings.They have a small liquor, wine, and beer selection along with their cold brew coffee.The bartenders are always friendly and helpful.They’re opening a location in downtown Holly Springs!

Love, love, love going to Sir Walter. It has become my favorite coffee shop. I have been many times, tried multiple coffees, different food items, and interacted with different staff members. I am never disappointed with my visit experience or what I ordered. Staff are awesome and it’s so fun to watch them do latte art. You can tell they love their job and have fun. I just wish they sold the really awesome gray mug with orange inside.

The place is usually great, but they need to give some common sense training to their bartenders and baristas to properly service their customers. I went today (8/20/21) and asked for a cappuccino and a small cup of milk for a child. The barista wanted to charge for 2 cappuccinos. When I politely mentioned that they usually charge me one extra dollar or $1.5, the guy ignored my request and kept charging the same. I had to say them just a cappuccino cause paying 4 dollars for a small cup of milk for a child is beyond ridiculous, and this is not about money. Some people are losing contact with reality to be honest. If I asked something for a dog, everything would be positive, if you do the same for a 9 year old child, then...

I have been here twice and both times had different experiences. All in all I like the vibe of the coffee shop and the coffee. The first time I visited the gentleman who rang me up and made my drink was extremely polite and helpful to me. My drink was delicious as I sat and enjoyed it with my book. The second time I went the girl that rang me up and made my drink was a little short with me. She made my drink hot after expressing I wanted it cold. She had to remake it and then made it in a to go cup even though I was staying in the restaurant. I still would recommend this spot to visiting patrons.

My favorite coffee shop in Raleigh hands down. The staff are always super friendly and the coffee drinks are the best. They have your standard coffees but they also have really inventive coffees as well that actually taste amazing.

I don’t give five stars often, but this place is WELL deserving. Top 5 cups of coffee I have ever had. (And I love coffee) the top coffee is a caramel macchiato and the bottom is a caramel latte. Both of which were brewed to perfection with the top smooth as can be. HIGHLY recommend if you need something comforting.

I ordered a black tea bubble tea and it was pretty good! It’s very sweet, so if you don’t have a sweet tooth I’d order something else. Another cool thing about this shop is that they serve both coffee and alcohol, and also food! I love the environment of this coffee shop. It’s very industrial with pops of bright orange everywhere. (The only downside is the bathroom which has frosted glass windows on the doors - kinda awkward)

Solid coffee shop! The atmosphere, location, variety, and flavour of everything Ive had is incredible.A bit pricey, which is why I gave it 4 stars, but does it stop me from going? Nope. There arent many other shops up to this par in the area, so Sir Walter is definitely the best latte you will get. Plus, gelato is next door! You cant beat that.

Great atmosphere. Great coffee! The bathrooms are immaculate. The art is pretty cool. For all the concrete, the shop is actually kind of quiet so you can actually get some work done here if thats your jam. Id say come by and try some of their coffee for yourself, its pretty good.

My favorite coffee shop in downtown Raleigh!! I don’t always come downtown but whenever I do I try to come to Sir Walter Coffee! The shop is located in a very walkable area (so you can have your coffee and sit or grab it to go and walk around Moore Square). I have ordered coffee every time I have been but today I decided to try one of their speciality teas since it was later in the day and wow great presentation and taste!! 10/10 recommend!!

I found out about this place well before they even opened and Im glad to say it was worth the wait! Weve now got a bubble tea place in DTR!! Good coffee with tons of inventive cocktails, though I wish they were a bit larger. Its a very cozy place and has a wonderful atmosphere! Ive been at least twice in the past week.

They get the first 4 stars for having vietnamese iced coffee that tasted delicious! They get the 5th star for the way they presented the vietnamese iced coffee. They poured the sweetened condensed milk (SCM) in the cute little glasses and added the Expresso on top. Then gave us a cup of ice. We got to stir the coffee + SCM and pour it over the ice cubes ourselves. A pleasant experience. At other restaurants it comes already mixed, which is okay but mixing it ourselves made for a better experience. And I felt good knowing that it contained the 2 ingredients I was expecting -- expresso + SCM.

Today was my first time visiting Sir Walter to get some work and studying done and it was a great experience. They have a really cool space, great for work and concentrating. I got a delicious peanut butter latte (first time ever having that!) and it was SO good. The staff was also super friendly, easy to talk to and made you feel comfortable. Definitely would recommend and definitely will be back!

My new favorite hobby is checking out coffee shops and I am so glad I’ve fallen upon Sir Walter Coffee. The theme of the restaurant is super cute and it’s the perfect place to grab a coffee and a bite to eat with a friend. I got a no sugar hazelnut iced latte with almond milk and it was amazing!

The atmosphere and location are great. This spot looks like a good hang out and has good protocols I thought for covid. The barista was friendly and upbeat. The reason for only 3 stars was that they forgot the flavoring in my latte. My waffle was still doughy and cold. Im guessing with less traffic coming through I was the first to order one today and the maker wasnt fully warmed up. Not a typical experience from what regulars have told me. Will give it another try and update.

Came here on a casual Saturday morning with my friends. The atmosphere is relaxing with soothing music in the background. My main issue was the 20+ minute wait for my breakfast sandwich during breakfast hours. Overall a good experience but I wouldnt come if youre short on time.

Fantastic cappuccino, and the cinnamon rolls are the best! Interesting coffee flavors too, like vanilla rose. I also recommend the cold brew. The seating areas inside and outside look cozy and like a good place to study after the pandemic.

Their coffee is very good, but a bit overpriced for what you get. In addition, their outdoor seating is tightly packed and loud due to echo between buildings. It was a little chaotic to sit outside with our dog. That being said, it was all in all a good experience.

Finally tried this place out and I have to say I may be addicted. The Sir Walter Six espresso drink is not for beginners. The chedder chive biscuits are so delicious you may have to put it in your food budget. Cant wait to come back.

Ive been a patron of Sir Walter since opened. Its my all time favorite coffee spot downtown. Great atmosphere, good music (although a bit loud at times), tasty food, a nice adult beverage selection, and most importantly - friendly staff. I discovered on my most recent visit that there is a time limit on WiFi and I am thrilled to see that 2 hour time limit go into effect. Ive stopped going to Sir Walter because I can never find a place to sit since others who have offices nearby choose to take up space at the cool coffee spot rather than in their cool offices along with others who just want to camp out all day and use the WiFi. Its unfortunate that I have to beat the work crowd and come in at 7AM just to be sure I have a place to sit and enjoy my cold brew. I have no intentions on ever sitting in a coffee shop for more than two hours anyway, but if I did, I see no problem buying a cup of coffee or something to use the internet. And if I do need more than two hours of internet, Ill go to my office or home. I am happy to spend $100+ a month on an awesome local coffee shop and I look forward to seeing what else SW brings to the triangle in the future.

Try the Vietnamese Coffee (two shots of espresso over sweetened condensed milk) with cold brew. That alone is worth every penny on top of the wide selection of flavors for more typical drinks. French Toast or Nutella flavored coffee is the stuff dreams are made of!

I usually go to this coffee shop because of the convenience and menu items. However, more times than not my food has been incorrect and has taken way too long to get. I waited 25 minutes for avocado toast and was told they were still making my order when other people received their order before me who ordered after me. I’ve ordered drinks that were forgotten and two days in a row I ordered the exact same thing, however one day the price was much higher than the other. With all the inconsistencies, I am reluctant to continue to come back and spend my money when I don’t feel valued as a customer and feel obligated to tip when they turn the payment screen in my direction.
