Had an issue with Alder where they never sent the equipment to my house, and yet claimed they did. Their account managers ask for a notice of cancelation and then pretend they never got it, and then find it weeks later, reset my verbal password so its impossible to get ahold of them, place me on hold for hours to avoid paying back my deposit, continue to charge my account when theyve sworn it has been canceled and then have the nerve to act like its my fault they cant keep record of when or where their equipment has been sent when the Fedex tracking number CLEARLY says it was returned to sender.Do your due diligence with any company you give your business to, but avoid this like the plague. Read the other reviews and please do not fall victim to this companys incompetence that always seems to conveniently fall in favor of them charging you more money.They can do damage control by replying with some disqualifying statement, but it doesnt change the overwhelming evidence that they are a complete scam.

I was told months ago by this company to contact them to get this situation resolved after I returned the equipment. The equipment was returned months ago, it never worked correctly. Now I’m getting letters stating that I owe them $217 for equipment that did not even alarm me or send a notification to me when I was on vacation for four days and my door was open… There were other issues but I was asked to take my review down months ago and I did so with the promise that once the equipment was returned that I would not be charged. What happened? I left a voice mail months ago no call back or anything

So grateful Megan showed up at our door. She was the sweetest girl and helped us finally do what our kids have been asking us to. We’ve used our system everyday. We’re paying little to nothing for all the great benefits alder provides. Way better than life alert could ever do. Would definitely recommend to a friend.

Alder Security has been one of the worst companies I have ever had to communicate with. They are not clear up front that if the service itself (not the equipment) does not work then you are still bound by the contract. The representatives and technicians are not helpful, do not document appropriately, and repeat themselves like they are a recording. Their option if the service itself does not work is to find someone else to take it over! Really? or you have to buy your way out of the contract. Complete scam artist!!!

Have bought a system with glass breaks and door sensors and smoke detectors. The door sensors have never worked right they keep saying the door is open when it is not. The smoke detectors keep losing supervision. Customer support says they sent out the door sensors but it is now our responsibility to contact Fed ex and find the sensor. The one rep told me the door sensors are not working because of the metal doors and said he would send out new ones that would work with metal doors never heard back. We have called several times and keep getting the run around. Now they have me on hold because they told me to deal with it myself and what did i want the rep to do about the missing sensor. The alarm also resets itself from away mode to stay mode after being set. They could not fix that either. Buyer beware we have wasted hundreds of dollars on this system. I am the representative on this account it is a corporate account with multiple sites on it.

Caleb came to visit my dad to see if he were interested in security. He was very patient and kind with dad and explained everything. He explained everything again to me when I arrived home and answered any questions I had. Matt and Maui came in for the quick and easy installation with easy instructions and answered all the questions about the devices. This has given my brother an I peace of mind for our dad!!

Pushy sales rep kept asking for set up dates and every time my wife and I said wed talk about it he kept trying to push for us to agree to have them set it up. I dont just want any company to come in my house so we needed a couple of days. He continued to push the sale. He eventually began to use my kids as a selling point along the lines of, God forgive if something where to happen to your daughter. I told him we were done and I thought it was the end of it. 20 min later he came back to our house with a lame apology which I guess was an attempt to try and get back and make a sale. To be clear, if something happens on my property in the near future I will be directing the Police to the corporate office. Please train your sales reps better and to not cross certain lines.

I never should have signed up with Alder, since day one I have had nothing but problems with them. Now that Im getting ready to move from my house and no longer need the service Im being told unless someone takes over my account I have to buy out the contract which they say is five years even though the sales rep stated it was one year. I am moving and do not need the service at the new place. I would not recommend this company the headache is not worth their protection, and thats saying something since I have had them since may of 2019. It feels way to much like a scam, .

First off I was not told Alder would be a 60 mth contract I was told it was on a month to month bases and I could call and cancel at any time. Well my services wasnt set up properly so I called to cancel a week after installation, but was offered another free month of service I insisted on cancelling but was co Hursted into reviewing the service for 30 more days. Even now I am supposed to have an indoor and outdoor camera but only have a door bell and was billed for the month that was supposed to have been free. I have called to try to rectify the issue but was told I cannot speak to customer service until I pay my bill... Totally dis- satisfied. They rush you to get that money but in my opinion its sad because you are left bwithba unexpected continual bill. The rushers!!

Great Office. Amazing staff. Theyve done some great things in the office to make sure only the most ethical and caring people are now on this team. Really a family here and each day they try to make sure everyone is a bit safer whether its that medical button that helps someone who falls, or the fire alarm going off because the kids were cooking by themselves. They look to make a positive impact in someones life, but also to make sure the most important emergencies never happen. They really look forward to welcoming more and more of their customers into their Alder family and treating them just like that! Would recommend working for and with and inquiring what sets them apart from so many other companies and even offices.

I live in South Carolina and just a few minutes ago a young man knocked on my front door trying to sell me a home security system. I already have two watch dogs and a Ring Doorbell.The kid asked me if my dogs would eat him and I said, they might.Ive lived here over two years and have never had any solicitors come to my front door. I dont appreciate it either.

I have had excellent service with Alder and they have a very friendly staff. In addition, I had several (2) serious carbon monoxide leaks from my heating unit that was detected by my alarm system. This happened during the holidays! It could have ended tragically for me if I didn’t have the alarm system. So, I recommend Alder because most alarm systems do not have the added carbon monoxide detector and it can save your life!!!

We were previously with Edge....We had battles with them from the beginning. We had alarm problems and it took Edge 3 months to get the alarm fixed. I was told that we would be refunded the 3 months of service. It took the whole three months to get the alarm fixed. While the service person was at our house and rep from Edge came by to see if we were pleased with their service. He said the key pay was outdated and needed to be replaced - at no charge. He stated that as confirmation that we received the keypad we needed to sign sign his tablet. Jump ahead to Sept. when we received a notice that Alder would not be our new alarm company. When we contacted them to let them know that our contact ended in July and that Edge provided us with service until September. They also gave us a quote if we wanted to continue their service WITHOUT a contract. They said we had signed a contract for another 5 years. We disagreed. They produced a copy of my signature for a five year contact. The Rep - LIED!!!! The signature I gave was for another contract for 5 years. The form we signed was not confirming that we had received the keypad to fix our system....It was a 5 year contract. Alder is holding us to this contract and stated that they would cancel the contract with a charge of $1700. We were told You can refuse to pay but we have your signature and that will hold up in court. We now have another 5 years to a crook.

Now I tried to cancel and since I evidently signed up for 36 months my cancellation fee is $1200+.Alternatively they will let me cancel if I hook-line and sacrifice a friend into this snake business.>> If that’s not a sign of their confidence in their product idk what is! > TBD.

DO NOT get yourself locked into a 5 year Alder contract. You can cancel it, but must pay 90% of the remaining dues. Cant just return the equipment... You are locked in even if you move... ABSOLUTELY NOT WORTH IT

Stay far far away from this bunch if crooks. Canceling service is a nightmare. After 30 minutes on the phone and 3 people still gave to get a email sign it and get back to them. You can buy a system fir half their charge, and with a lot more options. You have been warned.Notuce all 4 and 5 stars are at point of sale. All customer service reviews are 1 star

Was extremely difficult to order as third party sales reps did not call back as they said they would. When product arrived it was missing 2 cameras and one sensor. They did not email or send receipt of transaction product and when we contacted customer service they had no record of the sales persons contact info and only offered an upcharge to our current contract if we wanted what we had ordered.

I have had the system for all of 6 hours said was easy to set up. I got to step 1 it wouldnt even connect then says to call tech support been on hold for 2 hours now. Finally got through and the guy was rushing me through the process that wasnt as easy as they said. To the point that I just want to send it back thankfully they do have a money back guarantee withing 30 days. Id give a 1.5 star for that. Terrible experience ruined hours of my life Ill never get back

Alder security is the WORST ALARM COMPANY. I was shopping for home security. Apparently to get great prices for home security you have to be a home owner. I stop searchin.. June 3 I was o vacay with. My family and I got a call from Steve with alder security. He was polite and informative. After he got off the phone the. One-time 100 fee. Turned into 250. found that out on my bank statement. Alder only operates on ATT. Believe it or not ATT is not a good service where I live.. I call tech so. Everyday for a month. They couldnt do nothing and they dont know nothing. Alder security still charged. Me even though the service didnt work. Tech support. Cant even tie shoe. Let alone. Fix. Anythin. Alder security. Calling BBB. Yall. Lying to get customers. Yall. Double charge all the workers sound like they stop up with powder

We are new Alder customers, but since Day 1 there has been inefficient and ineffective communication between us and customer service. The security service was interrupted several times for different issues,(weather, wiring, equipment failure), and there was a couple of times we had to wait up to 4 days for a callback, or call in and be transferred until we got disconnected, consistently! I have never experienced such a lack of proper customer service and an inability to properly troubleshoot, supposedly resolve, to then have another issue to happen again a few days later. Whats worse, the times we called are recorded in their system and I am unable to get out of my contract because it was the 31st day out of 30, when we were trying to reach them day 1-25 several times. Now I am stuck for 6 years or pay 90% of said contract. Where is the accountability? Why am I subject to pay for a service which has not worked right since day 1 and I cannot reach customer service in an appropriate timeframe, in spite of covid. I will submit this review to other platforms for customers to have the proper information before carrying a burden of a security system they would hope keep their family safe, which does not work properly at all.
