Employees discovered evidence owners were keeping tips for themselves. They confronted the owners and the owners decided to cut hourly rates and end tipping. A day later they walked back on this and reinstated previous pay and tip policies. A few days later they decided that keeping most of the tips for themselves was actually really nice so they implemented a policy that they hope will achieve that goal.You’re craft beer dollars are better spent on a dusty IPA in the back of gas station. At least the dust is honest.

I am always very impressed by bottle rev in the way they utilize their space. This little bottle shop is tiny, but they have a ton of canned and bottled selections for purchase as well as a decent sized seating area and several taps to enjoy in store. They are really good at rotating too, so the several times Ive been there, theyve had many different options-- it doesnt get stagnant. Ive never tried to go in there when its really busy, but its a cool little spot at off times. The only downside is that they have bottle shop hours rather than bar hours, so if you want a beer after work, its a better spot for taking home a six pack than sitting and drinking there.

I used to be a regular here. But the bartenders discovered that the owners mishandled tips for years. The bartenders did their own math, giving the owners no share in the daily tip pools, and asked the owners for an accounting. The retaliation was swift: pay reductions and ZERO tips announced, to go into effect the next day. Then, 180º: owners stated their intent to pay the arrears exactly as the bartenders calculated to the cent, no pay reductions, and tipping allowed again. Only catch is the owners now prohibit tip pooling, just so they can continue as before to bartend alongside employees and compete with them for tips. How very small of them. Since the outset, the owners have said they were acting on the advice of an attorney: in appropriating employee tips with unfettered discretion because everyone is already above minimum wage; in retaliating and eliminating tips when asked how they were apportioned; in completely misstating very straightforward laws on tipping and pooling. I dont buy it. In fact, I dont buy anything here anymore.

Really a shame. This used to be my favorite place to get craft beer, back when it was under different ownership. Plenty of other reviews lay out the treatment of employees at this location. That’s enough for me not to go back.

Found out what the owner was doing to their employees in regards to tips and will not be returning. The tips were for the staff who were very helpful in what I was looking for, and the tips reflected that. They were not for the owner who is lazy and doesn’t know what he’s doing.

Great people and goods beer what else could anyone ask for? Oh yeah, live music every Friday and Saturday weather permitting.

Very confusing service. Their website isnt specific that their hours listed are only for delivery and their bar hours arent listed at all. When I called from out front to see why they werent open as the sign on the door claimed they were, the guy who answered was quite rude and argumentative. I will be taking my business somewhere where the service is better.

Good selection, and theres always something interesting on tap. Been coming here for years and although its evolved some over time, its still a great place for beer people.

Found out that the owner is skimming tips from employee and will not be returning. I tipped a bartender for their services, not the business, of which I compensated with my business. Not only is it against the law, but it shows the clear values of the business. Very trashy practices

Love this place. Amazing selection from all over the country will make you feel right at home no matter where you’re from. The bartenders are always happy and ready to help or just chat. Highly recommend!

Great selection of beer in bottles and some fun stuff to try on draft. Cant wait to go back when the weather is nice to enjoy the outside patio and have a beer! Will definitely be coming back. And I was so happy they had peanut butter jelly time!

This shop is my favorite of all of the new shops in the area. They have a great selection available, with quite a few things that I have yet to find elsewhere. Ted, the proprietor, is very knowledgeable and quite friendly. They have awesome discount days (10% off local brew on Hurricanes home games).They also have a year of beers club, which is well worth the money. You get pint glasses, special beer selections, and lotteries for rare beers, and more.The store is brightly lit, and well organized. All in all, I am glad to spend my money here!

I go here every Thursday after a group bike ride and they are great. Theres never a long wait to get a beer and if youre wanting something canned, just grab it and pay for it after your done. Its simple as that. Theres always something new on the taps and the cold cans change every now and then. Theres food next door if youre hungry.

Easily my favorite beer shop in Raleigh. I enjoy I can get single of any beer they have. Very few beers shops still offer that option in Raleigh. Plus they get all the dope IPAs. Go there first.

From amazing events, an awesome beer club, and the easiest place to shop in town (you can send in an order via Twitter or Facebook for pick up), Bottle Revolution has it all. It is unusual for me to review a drinking establishment, as Im not a beer drinker. I first heard of Bottle Revolution because of the running group that meets there, with whom I have run many times. However, the staff are quite friendly and helpful, so on a slow night after a run I asked them if they had anything for people who dont like beer, whereupon they introduced me to their selection of hard ciders. I was pleasantly surprised and now regularly go back to pick up more cider. You will find a wide selection and can certainly find something you like - ask the staff if you want guidance, they are knowledgeable and helpful.

The people who work there are awesome. I was looking for a specific beer contacted Ted and made sure I was able to get a couple of hard to find bottles, even though I am not a member of their bottle club (I live too far away to make it there every month) and have only been in the shop a few times. Went well above what I was expecting when I contacted them. Definitely my favorite bottle shop!

This place is great. Such a huge selection that I find myself with a limitless selection to chose from. But dont let that scare you! Teds a great guy and makes some really good selections for you if you ask. Just tell him what youre in the mood for. Hell get you to try something new and interesting you may have never tried yourself, and expose you to new kinds of beer you may have never seen yourself drinking before. Of course, if youre looking for your standard American Light Lager, just go to the grocery. This place is craft beers only, and you should do yourself a favor by stopping in and having yourself a beer.

Just outside the beltway and it sure feels suburban, full of white bread breeder couples and medical professionals. Pretty good beer selection, but high prices to go with the upscale neighborhood - yet they serve draft in flimsy plastic cups. Nice enough if you’re in the neighborhood but not a regular destination.Update: Giving this place another star because of the friendly staff and the location near the art museum. It might not be so cool for inner-beltway hipsters, but for the near burbs its ok.

Excellent selection of bottle beers with ~6 or so on tap. Only downside (and reason it doesnt have 5 stars) is there was no indoor seating that I could see. On very hot days, it makes a very uncomfortable and sweaty time when youre trying to enjoy a beer! Otherwise, very cool spot!

I am, by no means, a beer expert but at a location like this you dont have to be. The woman behind the counter was a great help and aided me in selecting a great selection of ales and hard ciders. She let me know exactly what the best sellers were and asked what I was looking for. Even the prices are great. I mean, instead of buying a 6 pack of american draft, you can easily get a mix and match for near the same price. Dont be afraid to try new things or new places. They already have me craving my next batch!

Sold by the bottle, no 6-packs, no boxes, just onesies and thus a fair bit more expensive. Staff is not the nicest either. Theres less expensive, better selection, and friendlier staff in many other locations in town.

Pretty sure they served the wrong beer to my friend, as his blonde ale looked and tasted identical to the lager I ordered. Good beer selection here. Staff was not quite as friendly as the Apex BottleRev. Ill stick to the Apex location in the future.

They offer a great balance from popular local and national craft breweries as well as some more unique brews. Staff has always been kind and accommodating.
