I have gone to computune multiple times as they are good friends of my brothers, today I had a tube leak, when we spoke on the phone after they had done the assessment Cory told me it would cost $230(ish) INCLUDING labor, so I gave them the go ahead, when I picked up the vehicle she charged me $350 and didn’t give me an explanation as to why it was $120 more than we agreed on. She also grabbed my card off the desk while I was looking over the paperwork. I’m super disappointed that I was lied to on price and taken advantage of. I will not return in the future and I will definitely tell my brother to take his business elsewhere as well.

Every time I’ve been to Computune they treat me great and get things done quickly. They are good at giving realistic expectations and then often beat what they had originally promised. This time I went in for an emissions inspection and they told me it would be about 30 minutes to get my car done. There were a lot of other cars there too, so I expected 30 minutes would be a little optimistic. They got my car in and out in about 20 minutes!

Overall a poor experience. Didn’t notify me when my oil change was done per my request, hidden costs, and the person I worked with didn’t appear to listen to me (thought I was an old customer with an account already when I specifically said I was a new customer, which added another several minutes to redo paperwork). I paid $100 for a prepaid card of oil changes and now I know why they get you to prepay! I won’t be going back. Only reason it’s not one star is because they were friendly.

I go in for affordable oil changes and things seem to be just fine, they do pretty quick and solid work. But today, they tried to hustle me! I took my car in for repairs a couple days ago (Tuesday) at a different place after my check engine light came on. The repairs were completed yesterday (Thursday) and everything was good to go. I wanted my car to be in the best shape possible so I also opted to go here to Computune for an oil change. They told me my outside tie rod end was broken (complete lie) and that there were several other issues that would require $869 to fix. This after my car was fixed and inspected the day before. So I took it back to my repairs place for a second opinion. The only thing missing was I needed a 30$ hold-down for my battery, which wasn’t even one of the things Computune mentioned. Everything else was so minor it wasn’t even worth putting in the inspection report. DO NOT LET THEM SWINDLE YOU.

Impressed they have 10 bays and even repair a lot of different trucks. Oh, waiting area is small though. Consists of 3 little chairs situated next to one another. Feels like sitting in other persons lap. Interior has older car mechanic shop look. Not really appealing and is dusty everywhere. Woman who receives people is very nice and knowledgeable.

DO NOT GO HERE.I am not one to leave negative reviews. I actually dont think I have ever left one in my life. That being said, I hope this review keeps at least some people from being taken advantage of like I almost was.I took my truck in because the breaks were squeaking so i figured the break pads were worn out and I didnt have time to take a look myself. They called me the next day to inform me that the rear drum breaks were completely bad and needed to be replaced. They quoted me at well over $600. I was shocked because I hadnt noticed any loss of breaking power before. I told them I would like to take it somewhere else to get a second opinion or just look at them myself. They responded that a wheel cylinder had fallen apart and so it wasnt safe to drive to take somewhere else.I got suspicious at this point so I called a few other places. They said it was highly unlikely the entire drum assembly would need to be replaced based on the miles they had on them, and then quoted me almost HALF what computune did. They could not believe the quote I had received. I called computune and told them not to do anything, and I would come pick it up and take a look myself. All of a sudden they changed the story and told me that the wheel cylinder was actually okay, but was just worn out and should be replaced at some point. Same thing with the shoes and drums. If i would have just listened to them, I would have spent over $600 (too much even if what they were saying about their condition was true), replacing the drum brakes which still work fine. They are dishonest and deceiving. Shame that there are people out there who would take advantage of other people like that. Go find a different place you can trust to not take advantage of you. Finally, I looked back at some other negative reviews and it looks like Computune goes through and makes snarky and rude responses to most of them. Real professional guys.

I had the primary fuel injector go out on my vehicle and ended up stranded. I called Computune on a recommendation. It was Friday about 10 minutes before closing. They recommended a tow truck service that worked with them in my area. The tow service was way earlier than the quoted 20 minute wait. By the time my vehicle was brought in it was well after closing time, but they still processed my vehicle and called me for additional details. The let me know that they wouldnt get to it until Monday (very reasonable).I was expecting them to call me late on Monday, but was very surprised to hear from them by 10 or 11am . The explained the issue and gave my the quoted price which while steep was in the expected range for the part. They let me know they would have to order the part.I got another call early on Wednesday morning, letting me know that the part had been put in, but that there was an additional electrical issue where a resister had melted from a surge in power (likely when the fuel injector went out). They let me know that they had to order a replacement and it would be there on Thursday.Again, I was called early on Thursday to let me know that they were done. When I went to get it, they worked with me to find a payment method that would work best for me, and showed me the melted resister.Since then, I noticed on my receipt that they noticed a potential issue and let me know to keep an eye on it. They called me to follow up with the repair to make sure everything was still working, and to remind me that my vehicle was about 1500 miles away from an oil change, based on the sticker in my window.Overall I was very impressed with the work that was done, the promptness of the repairs, and the patience they showed when I was asking all sorts of questions. The level of detail they gave me made me feel like a person, and not just another customer to hurry along. Its hard to find honest mechanics these days, and I am happy to report that Computune fits that bill. I will be returning regularly.

Nice talkative people but a severely inefficient operation (for example they pay someone to send out oil change reminders when most cars tell you when oil needs to be changed). Another example, the software they use for checking you in requires copious typing and clicking to navigate through a dozen screens. It took about 15 minutes to get checked in after calling ahead for an appointment. The parking lot was crowded with cars and it was not clear where to park for service. The bid to replace the alternator was at the highest price of the range I was expecting. I dont think I would have gotten same or cheaper price at a dealership, but it was still about the max I would pay a place like this to do the work. It does not inspire confidence when the person in front of you checking in their car had them replace an engine and now their a/c is not working. I am thinking, Am I making a huge mistake, do I trust these guys with my repair when the customer in front of me is back due an error? I almost walked out after hearing that! They did the alternator replacement same day and had it done around 3 pm. They did not mention to me when giving the bid that it was for a refurbished alternator, but has a warranty, so I guess it will be fine. If you need shuttle service, they will ask you to use your car to drive you, if possible. All that being said, you could do a lot worse than this place.

I went to get my rear brake pads replaced. Here are a few of my thoughts.Good: They are open on Saturday. Many places these days close on Saturday, so it is convenient. They were nice enough to inspect all brakes. They were not pushy to get things changed and all that.Bad: I wish I knew how long it would take before I sit down. It took them close to an hour to inspect the brake (isnt it 15 min job?) after the car was in the pit and another an hour to replace the pads (probably normal).Concern: On the same day, I notice that the brake started making rubbing sound after driving a while and the brake is warmed up - this is after the replacement of the brake. I understand it takes some time to adjust to the new pads, so I will keel my eyes on one more day or two to see if it gets fixed automatically... If so, good. If not, I will go back and have them check again but my evaluation may change with their performance.

Our Buick was going to die soon. We knew that. But being the poor college kids we are, we wanted to drag its life out for as long as we could! We took it in when it wouldnt start to another repair shop over on Freedom, and they gave us an easy fix solution. We payed big bucks for that diagnostic, and wanted to call around to see what other people would do the service for. Upon calling Certified, they said they didnt agree with the diagnostic and offered a free checkup. Not only did they find the problem, they were able to fix it in store on the day of our service and even stayed late to do so. Not only that, but there was a hundred dollar service that needed to be done, but when they got in there, they found that even if they did it, it would make no difference. I had a flat tire last week, and my friend recommended this place. I prefer supporting local places, but this place really disappointed me. Firstly, they told me I needed a new rim, since the old one was bent, and the tire wasnt sealing, and thats why it was losing air. They then suggested I buy a whole new set of tires, since none of them were holding air. Thats outright wrong. I test my tires at least once a week to make sure theyre at the correct psi, and had tested them that morning. They replaced the rim, for $65, and I went away. I was out of town for the weekend, and came back to another flat tire. I went back, to figure out what was going on. Turns out there was a hole in the original tire, that they simply did not check for the first time I came in. That seems like the first thing you should check for. Lucky for me, they didnt have the tires I needed in stock. I pulled around the corner to Big O, where they patched the tire, free of charge. I honestly feel like they just took my money for no reason. $65 is not a measly amount for a college student.

I paid an $80 diagnostic fee for them to find 2 broken fuses. They said it would be cheaper if it wasnt anything too complicated, but they still charged me the full $80. They charged me another $30 just to put a battery in (I think my grandmother could have done that in 5 minutes and for free) that I bought and already had tested. So all in all it was around $200 dollars to pay them for 5 minutes of labor. I should rely on google next time I have electrical issues. With that said, I brought the car home, and all night the alarm kept going off randomly so I had to pull the horn fuse out. They didnt diagnose the car properly, Im hesitant to take it back though because of lack of communication and the lack of confidence that they will actually fix the problem this time. Thats the problem with many of these mechanics they cut corners and charge you absurd amounts, furthermore theyre not the friendliest. Objectively poor service.~~~Follow-up about a year later~~~:Just a follow-up to our experience there. I preface by saying it looks like most people have a great experience there, in fact my father in-law recommended it (the only reason I went). However, just a word of caution. They dont do theyre own electrical work, we had a fuse blow, which prevented the car from turning on. They fixed that, but then the car alarm started going off in the middle of the night. Went back for them to fix that, after they read my google comment and called me, and took them another week or so.Once I got the car back that time, the airbag light was on, but this was just before a holiday break so one thing led to the next never got it checked out. Fast forward, later this year we took the car to the dealership for recalls, for them to tell us the light was on because the airbag sensor was missing. Now, Id like to believe this wasnt the electricians fault (who is not them), but who knows. With that said, even if it wasnt they gave the car back to us with that light on having not even checked it. Irresponsible. I would just say these people arent very thorough. I wouldnt take it here if its an electrical problem, because they dont really seem to know whats going on.

I cant give them a one star because the car service they did was well done. The customer service though was unsatisfactory and is the reason for my giving 2 stars.I dropped my car off around noon to have a check engine issue looked over. After diagnosing the issue around 1:00 pm a quote and procedure was agreed upon. In that discussion I was told it would be done around 3:30 PM. I left the shop only to come back at 3:30 to find that the car was not done. I waited until 4:15 to ask the status to ensure they had enough time just in case some problems came up and they needed extra time. After asking around and making some calls, he informed me that even though he thought he made the deadline for a 3:00 drop off, he actually didnt and the part for my car wouldnt be in until 5:00 PM - which is not what I was originally told. Now, I understand people make mistakes, but I at least expect some communication and acknowledgement of these mistakes. What Im disappointed in is that the mechanics knew about these deadlines but did not take care in ensuring the part would be here on the agreed upon time, did not offer any complimentary ride or loaner until after 4:30, no compensation for the time I unnecessarily spent waiting, no self-initiated communication with me - my asking prompted them to act, and no acknowledgement of the mistake they made (he blamed it on the other company bringing down the part).I am not trying to come across as condescending or rude at all. But I am saying that unless some form of compensation for their lack of service and communication comes forth, I cannot recommend this company to anyone who values time and communication.

I DO NOT recommend Computune—not to my friends or anyone else.I started going there because of their coupon for free oil changes, but after all the things that happened to me at Computune, that became the ONLY reason I went back. (1) Several times they told me that things needed to be fixed in my car (example: windshield fluid being low) that I literally replaced or refilled myself days before coming in—evidently they didnt really check. (2) On two separate occasions, I was told that this and that needed fixing or were due for replacement (example: leak in one of my tires but they were all due for replacement), but after visiting other shops and asking for confirmation on the issue, they were refuted as baseless. (3) They told me I needed to do a tune up (a Fluid Flush, that I honestly probably didnt need), and, the bill came up $50 more than the estimate they gave me. I was so shocked that I vowed to never come back after my last free oil change. (4) Unfortunately, I HAD to go back after that because they didnt double check a simple, free repair they incorrectly did that literally could have gotten me into a SERIOUS accident, and I had to get a reimbursement from them to cover the repairs I did at a different shop which thankfully Computune repaid.Im a very reasonable customer—whos never cared enough to write a review—but all that is not okay. And them giving you a list of all the things wrong, in need for a check-up, etc. at the end of every visit is just their way of making you come back for something else. They ALWAYS have a long list of things wrong with your car. Theres just many, way better options in Provo to go to—like Firestone, McFarland, or AAMCO. Dont go here. Unless its for a free oil change—two stars for that.

My favorite local place to go to. They got my Jeep in and out within a few days and got everything fixed. Very friendly and helpful. Great service and price.EDIT Sept 2019: Updating my review to say that Ive been going here for years and they are THE BEST local place—especially if youve got a jeep. They have fixed every problem I throw at them and more, sometimes even fixing smaller problems for free. They often get me in the day I call and theyre up front and fair with costs. A++ service

They have a great price on getting the safety & emissions done but they told my wife that our car failed the safety inspection because the battery was not secured. They (of course) offered to secure the battery for about $90. My wife declined and I got the job done for less than $10 and about 10 minutes of work. Whats more, it turns out that not having the battery secured does not make a person fail the safety test, just that they should be advised that theres a problem. After my wife said that we would go get it fixed on our own, I think they must have felt silly that they couldnt legally say that our car failed inspection, so they decided that the side marker lights did not work. My wife declined to have them fix those as well and they failed our car. Well, i checked all the lights and none of them were out. I took the car back and they couldnt find any that were out, so they finally passed our car off for the safety inspection. Its certainly the case that mechanics try to lure people into their shops by offering a cheap rate on safety and emissions, but its illegal and unethical to tell people that the car will fail the test for not having work done (in my case, securing the battery) that really doesnt have to be done to pass the test. While this was all a little thing that was mostly just inconvenient, it makes me wonder what other things theyre not being honest about. The people there were pretty nice so Im not giving them just one star. But on the other hand, when it comes to expensive car repairs, Im interested in an honest mechanic, not a sweet voice.

Ive been going to Computune for several years now. They have fair prices and do a great job. On my most recent visit, the repair took a little longer than expected, but they did save me money by applying the labor costs from the original work to the additional work I requested of them. Ive never had a bad experience with them.

Awful customer service from the owner herself at the front desk. She was completely disrespectful to the mechanic she was talking to before us and then after I told her what we needed fixed she told me that I needed to leave and wait a few minutes for her to text me back simply because I had my daughter with me (who at the time was quietly sitting and playing with her doll without disturbing anyone else and could have easily continued that for a few minutes). Completely disgusting behavior and we will not be going back.

Certified Auto is fantastic. I was worried that my 1999 Ford Windstar was just about dead. They quickly identified the problem and came in under the estimated price. My Van runs like new. It has power again and better gas mileage. They also did work on my Lexus. Craig always suggest the cheapest fix first, which I appreciate. It doesnt always work out to be the cheapest fix that works, but that approach does save me money over the long haul. Craig is very honest and promotes preventative measures that I know make your car last. When you find an honest mechanic, you hold on to them forever. Im very happy I found Certified Auto. I happily drive 55 miles to have them work on my vehicles because I trust them.

The work done on my daughters car has been fine the past couple of times Ive brought it to Computune but Ive been going there a while and they seem to be getting pretty pricey. The part they chose was the most expensive Ive been able to find. None of the diagnostic fee was applied to the repair (Ive been to other shops that do this), and shop supplies have been between $40-$50! Thats super high. Ive never been charged anywhere close to that by other shops (even dealerships).

Great place to get your vehicles fixed. They are honest, trusted, and have competitive pricing. I have taken several cars there to get fixed over the years and every time Ive gone there they have been great to work with. They only fix what needs to be fixed and dont try and up-sell you on unnecessary things.

I recently went in to Certified Auto Repair to take care of the Check Transmission light that came on in my car. The lady at the front desk explained to me that it would not be as simple as plugging in their machine and reading the problem code, and told me they would have to perform an $80 diagnostic. She estimated that it would take about an hour once the mechanic got around to working on my car. I told her that before I made the decision, I wanted to call my dad. While I was calling him, they pulled my car into the bay and hooked up their machine. By the time I was off the phone, they had already detected the problem. My car was still not able to leave the bay at that point (I believe the mechanic was planning on test driving the car). They were kind enough to offer me a ride anywhere I needed to go, but I declined. She told me it would probably take another 1-2 hours, but that it would definitely be done by closing time at 5:30 PM (at this point, it was around 1:15 PM).Around 4:35 PM, I hadnt heard anything from them, so I called them to see if the car was ready to be picked up, because I knew that I would have to walk to their location before they closed. The man who answered was polite and explained that they were still looking at pricing estimates for replacing my transmission. A couple minutes later, they called me and said they were ready for me to come pick it up.When I got to the shop to pay for the diagnostic, they charged me an additional $4 for Supplies and $1.60 for Hazardous Materials. I paid for these additional charges. When I expressed some frustration with the process the next day, they tried to help me understand and even offered me a refund. They showed that they care about how their customers feel they are treated, which I greatly appreciate.

I went in with a small oil and transmission fluid leak. They took a look at the car and quoted me at ~$350....to fix a leak. The parts werent in stock, so they had to be shipped in. They said I could pay extra to have the expedite the parts (3 day shipping). I came back 3 days later--still no parts. I came back 4 days later...still no parts. 5 Days later the parts came in (why did they charge me ~$20 for expedited shipping if it wouldnt come any faster?) Once the parts arrived, they fixed the leak. I came back and picked up the car and noticed that it still appeared to be leaking. I informed the shop. They told me it was probably just water.... I took the car home anyways. The leak had not been fixed.I took the car back the next day and told them the leak was not fixed. I had already paid ~$400 and I still had an fluid leak. They took another look at the car. They told me that my car had two cooler lines (and they didnt realize it) and they probably fixed the wrong one. Fortunately, they said they would fix it again for no charge. I came back to pick up the car, and the leak was still not fixed (although it wasnt leaking as bad anymore). I left anyways (frustrated).I brought my car back for another quick fix (which they did do well) two weeks later and I told them my car was still leaking. They took another look at it. They said it would be another $350 to fix the leak (bringing to total to fix transmission fluid leak to $750. I told them no. I wasnt going to put that much money into a car to fix a small leak.I wish they would have caught everything the first time and let me know how much it would be...rather than string me along for 3 different visits and the issue still not resolved.Although I will say that their personnel are very nice, and not too pushy.

They were easy to work with and took the time to talk about each little thing that my car needed. The waiting room was comfortable and cool, which is nice when its 90 degrees outside. They also instead of making me wait for certain parts referred me to a place where I could get the parts or repairs myself. It was an unselfish thing to do and I recognized they really cared about me as a person, not just a customer.

When you have 2 vehicles that need to go to the shop more than 3 times each in a 3 month period, theres always room for a part that is just going to take a few more days. However, when my vehicles have been to the shop, they have always been repaired correctly and in a timely fashion. Certified Auto has worked well with my warranty company (another radiator mechanic in town refused to work with any warranty company-strange). Theyve been excessively patient with my three small children and the fact that while my husband is deployed, we often need to be dropped off at our house when I leave my vehicle. Ive been very happy with their service, their knowledge and their kindness.
