I cant say enough how much I love this place. Authentic grocery items for Italian cooking, deli with top quality meats and cheeses, and slab pizza cooked that is out of this world. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and offers suggestions when asked. A huge bonus is the parking (albeit limited) for the old port area its such a relief to know you can get it and out quickly because you dont have to spend time and money finding parking. Love this place!

Not a fan. The pizza is really bad & its obvious no one knows what Sicilian pizza is. The imports are kinda lame & over priced. But the deli meats are the biggest offence... They all have a grey color to them like they are ooooold! Im sure its a great deli if you arent Italian.

For as long as I can remember, Micucci Grocery Store has everything you need when it comes to all things Italian. They have the finest foods for any occasion. A great selection of wines from all over as well. Upon entering you get a sense of how good an experience youre going to have by the amount of people wanting to shop there. It gives you a bit of nostalgia of having a neighborhood grocer in the middle of all the upstarts in the area. The entire staff is right there to help find whatever you are looking for. Of course you cant avoid taking a few steps up the stairs. There you can smell Portlands best pizza. The original slab which is why there is always a line to get a piece or two...A great family run store that has always been a staple in Portlands Little Italy.

Great variety of Italian delicacies. Good selection of hard to find Sicilian wines. The fresh breads, cut cheeses, and meats are all very good. They offer a terrific Sicilian pizza in the rear to either eat in or take away. Worth a visit when in Portland.

I get lunch here a couple times a week. The pizza slabs are good. That being said its mostly a grocery store for picking up ingredients to cook at home. If youre from Portland and your Italian you probably already know about it, but if your passing through or dont generally cook Mediterranean food you should go check this place out. I got a gallon tub of Kalamata olives for like 13 bucks. And theyre bread is great. I particularly like the luna bread.

Great selection of imported (the real deal) pastas and truffle products. Excellent Sicilian style pizza and bread. Also carries commercial sizes of imported products.

My 4 year old son and I were told we would have to eat our pizza outside in a tropical storm rather than stand and eat at the counter area. The store was almost empty and we were shocked at the inflexibility of the staff. We left hungry and found somewhere else that was more hospitable. By far the worst experience we had on our trip to Portland.

All the Italian staples and some amazingly fresh Italian parsley. And a decent price too!

Update: Wow you can now get your Sfogliatelle FROZEN to bake at home. They came out totally AMAZING!!! Just follow the directions and, as the pictures show, they look like THEY made it for you. Theres a reason this store has been around for almost 100 years. Because they deliver the best of Italy from the moment you walk into the store and then again when you get home and devour your goodies:) these will be our new weekly family treat!!!!! They make pizza from scratch at 10:30 am. The other Italian Pastry (that I cant spell:) the one thats shaped like a sea shell is simply AMAZING:) I just cant Express how much we love this place. Also, they have off street parking on the side of the building. If you havent been there give it a try, if youre a regular you know already;)

Wow! We stopped here for some wine and got more than we needed. The variety of local and Italian food options is a bit overwhelming, but the staff knows their stuff and they are ready to help.

Quaint market with everything Italian, having a deli and pizzeria. There is a bakery section and also a nice wine selection. I picked up an entire dinner - all I had to add was a salad! Homemade pastas and sauces, bread, olive oils & vinegars, wine, and tiramisu! Staff very helpful and friendly, and off-street parking. Youll want to make sure and visit.

They have always been and remain a much remembered, appreciated, family-owned business that stocks top quality products. Its the only place where I purchase my grated cheese. This place was here before Amatos ? and their original Italian sandwich was something we as a family of 5 enjoyed when my parents drove to Portland - my dad a thing about enjoying great Old World stuff like that. Whenever my parmesan runs low I drive only to Micucci. Looking forward to my next trip there. Thank you!

I wish we lived closer so we could shop here every week!! They have a great selection of authentic Italian foods, wines, and many other items. The prices are great and so was the customer service. We will visit this store every time we are in Portland!!! They also have a wonderful selection of fresh hot foods to-go as well as chilled, prepared items you can reheat at home. (see pictures) I highly recommend checking them out.

The Sicilian slab pizza is generous, fresh and the best in town. The selection of pasta and wines is superb. From the staples to the gourmet, youll find what you need at Micuccis.

I drive 1 1/2 hours to get to this store. I am Italian, from Massachusetts and cannot find any store like Micuccis with all of the amazing items they carry any closer to my current home. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful!

The Sicilian slabs alone are worth the drive from Gardiner. This is, by far, the best Sicilian pizza in Maine. I also enjoy their imported prosciutto and their homemade cannoli. Everything here is worth trying.

This is the most Italian place I have ever been to in Maine. If you want buy real Italian food from Italy this is where you go. Also home to the original slab pizza.

The ladies are remarkably kind, and really make you feel like you grew up in the neighborhood! Their food is also stand-out, and the selection they offer excels when compared to their small size. I wish theyd be more honest in updating the time for when new slabs will be out, but thats hardly worth knocking off a star. Great place!

Its a great store, people are excellent and willing to help you with whatever you need. They even went out of their way to find out if I was okay after twisting my ankle and falling in the parking lot.

Horrible pizza and stuffed bread. The pizza crust was ridiculously thick, there was minimal sauce and the pepperoni had no taste. The stuffed bread was more like a large piece of dough (very under cooked in the middle) with a few small pieces of meat rolled inside. I actually pulled as much dough as I could out of it. The grocery store looked wonderful with a very large variety of items.

Do not be fooled by the exterior. This place has INCREDIBLE pizza by the slice in the back (and a nice selection of imported groceries to boot). After months of curiosity and recommendation, I found myself both hungry and in the vicinity; a heavenly combination.

In being pure Italian, I was not impressed with their pizza. The dough needed a little more cooking. As for their tiramisu; truly the best Ive ever had, outside of our own. We make this at Christmastime, and Micuccis was delicious; as good as ours. This is a must go to place to check out for Italian food shopping.

Pizza was great, they had a sign up for a 20 minute wait for pizza, after 20 minutes, they changed the sign to a 15 minute wait. Just say it was a 35 minute wait to start and people who cant wait that long could leave.

One of my favorite food stores in Portland!

On vacation in Portland and looking for a place to get lunch after buying a whoopie pie at Fat Cats down the street and saw their sign for Sicilian pizza by the slice. Was amazed at the store itself. It was like stepping into Italy, a place I have been. You have to wind your way around the store to find the pizza tucked into a hot corner where baking is obviously taking place. There are a few tables to eat it there and then pay as you leave the store (They trust you to do that) It was too hot for us so we took it to go. I found the pizza sauce too sweet for my liking but loved the crust. My husband enjoyed the meatball sandwich.

Love this store! I gained 5 pounds just from the wonderful smells, alone! The have the best selection of Italian groceries. (Along with other things.). Their Sicilian Pizza, by the slice, is great! I am going back next week for my annual Spumoni....not the holidays without it. They have the real thing, not Spumoni flavored dairy dessert like the grocery stores. All thumbs UP Micuccis.
