A wonderful supermarket! Very impressed with the variety of produce, And lots of local and organic. The fish market is amazing. Pretty much anything you need in groceries you could get at this store.

Please teach your employees how to bag. They overstock the bags and they rip. When you tell them to use as many bags as they need they still overstock the bags. Also the supermarket is way too busy you need to be on top of stocking. The only reason I visit the store is for my job otherwise I would not come to this Hannaford.

I had an issue with a coupon and the associate was very helpful.

Ive been shopping here for almost 12 years now.. This Hannaford has some really great variety on exotic fruits. But I really LOVE the new Naked juice called rainbow machine. OMG its Fabulous..

I really like the forest ave location it’s always hopping with people and they always have their items in stock ready for individuals to purchase that item I’m always impressed this is my new favorite hannafords this one deserves 5 stores.

So, so, so nice! An employee saw me wandering around clueless and she immediately asked me if I needed help. She gave me excellent and spot on directions to what I was looking for. I probably would still be there wandering around if she wasnt so awesome. The place is huge and has everything you need!

I bought 2 really nice plants that are healthy and were not expensive! I didnt have to wait long to check out and everyone was wearing a mask also while i was there they announced that the pharmacy was offering free covid vaccines i think thats great!

This Hannaford had me confused since Im used to the ones Augusta north. It was super clean and the young male cashier was awesome!

Decent Hannaford with all the normal groceries

Has pretty much everything I need, but they never have enough registers open. Its comical seeing all the people lining up into the aisles and they just never put enough people on a shift. Ive left a cart of groceries behind because I just dont have the time.

It makes me nervous I love it.

I wish we had a supermarket this great near our home. So many alternative diet selections and a great variety of not so commonly seen grocery items/brands. Clean and organized.

Night and day compared to whole foods. Reasonably priced food, friendly cashier. Okay selection of healthy foods, no pretention :) All I would say is that there organic produce is extremely expensive, but I may just be used to areas more agriculturally active.

There store is huge. They have a best selection of foods. Also have ice cream at good prices.

This is just some helpful common sense in good communication towards the general public. We are all going through tough times and I understand everyone is under stress. I felt the tension when standing in line outside of Hannafords to be let in. The man who was instructed individuals to go in, had loudly spoken next person, I was standing with my 5 year old. He stopped us and said ONLY one person. I simply stated that I couldnt possibly leave my child outside, nor could she shop without me. He said its policy, I said I know all about what the maximum limit of people allowed in the store. You could of just waited until a second person exited the store and then let us proceed entering the store. The security guard chimed in and I said the same thing. Your demeanor says everything. I entered the store and wanted to pass by the restrooms because my daughter had to use them. The other security guard not only said I couldnt go that way, but physically blocked me from going that way. I wouldnt be surprised if they werent racist, no one else was treated in the same sort of fashion. I am giving this place a 4 star because on other given days I am treated quite well and it is very easy to ask for help and to be treated respectfully.

Always understaffed - because your waiting spent in line is money into owners pockets! Poor customer service in general. Stock shelves during hours sometimes with multiple carts in aisle. Some tellers I will not go through their line because they intentionally rude. Fun to watch baggers walk away from check out right when its your turn. Prices arent bad but space is too small for the amount of traffic and they simply cant keep items stocked (because, again, this would take more staff they simply dont want to pay so you go home empty-handed knowing they probably have boxes in back they couldnt fit on their shelves. Why they dont buy that entire strip and expand is beyond me.

Only have a couple registers open at times so lines are always down aisles to cash out. While people are standing around they could open registers. Always takes 10 to 20 minutes before you can get to the register. They need to work on this

If it wasnt for hannafords, I would literally kill myself

Used to be great, but now that they are trying to force us to buy their Generic foods theyre screwing up. 2 recent examples are Half & Half curdling 2 weeks before good thru date, and massive mold on buns on good thru date. Theyve lost my business to Shaws as I waited 10 minutes for a supervisor to show up and discuss the mold issue, and no one came. Well they dont need to worry about me complaining again, since Im never going back.

Big grocery store located within walking distance of where I was vacationing. I like it.

Ive never seen a calmer, more well conducted store during covid-19. Completely conducive to shopping. Thank you Portland for an amazing response to a crisis. It earns you five stars when you really deserve four stars for it smelling terrible in the fish department still and through my mask too 🤔I spoke to management 5 years ago and they said it was normal. This is the only other Hannaford in Maine that the seafood counter smell hangs rank in the air and wafts through areas of the store. Im from Maine. I know whats what. Maybe consider getting better ventilation. Id rather buy seafood from the docks or the other Hannafords that dont reek.

Great selection and friendly helpful service

I have just one issue with Hannaford right now and feel it is a critical one. Our Governor Mills has enacted a Law that all businesses must demand facecoverings for service. Hannaford(Forest Ave) is not complying or enforcing the Law. In fact, I have seen more people lately without covering in the store I frequent on Forest Ave.For these reasons I feel this store presents high risk for its patrons. When I ask employees at the door about it, I get shoulder shrugs and quirky smiles in return. There is not clarity on why Hannaford is refusing to comply and is putting customers at higher risk.I have filed a report with the State. The site also recommends reporting to Police Departments and State Police. However, a call to them offers nothing. Ive been told they are not handling this. I know there is no 100% safe place publically, but encourage Hannaford to adhere to our new State Law and enforce it, as is their responsibility; to provide as safe an environment as possible and look out for all of their customers, as well as employees. I encourage others to take a stand on this issue and press Hannaford stores to comply with the Law. Thank you.

The best meat department in Portland. The staff is knowledgeable and pleasant. They have always helped me out with suggestions for prep, repackaging product, great attitudes, every one of them helpful and pleasant. I drive out of my way to go here.

Good selection, produce is always good and plentiful. Prices are reasonable on most things. The best part is that there is a self checkout that never has a line and it actually is user friendly/doesnt require an employee to scan their card every 2 seconds

This is a very busy store. I received excellent service from the associate in the bakery. The staff here is always friendly and helpful. With as much traffic as this store sees, it is always clean and well stocked.

Out of all the common grocery stores in New England, Hannaford is my go-to. They have a lot more variety throughout the store. Although I would say the amount of variety is circumstancial on the location of the store. What I most notice is the freshness of the produce. Prices are also noticably lower than other grocery stores.

Hannaford is the best Supermarket as they have what ever youll ever need. But these days things are a bit different due to the covidq 19 But they are doing everything and anything they can to keep all safe..

This a great local (in the nearby sense) supermarket, equivalent to the Pavilions grocery store chain on the West Coast. Large selection of vegetables, seafood and, meat. Quite an open space within which sections can be found rather easily. There’s a self-checkout option, with a requisite attendant. The staff are friendly and have so far helped with finding all the items/info I’ve needed. Exceedingly large parking lot as well with adequate handicap parking. Finding a spot really should not be a problem.

My second favorite Hannford in Maine (the one in Gray tops you guys, sorry).Great selection. Seriously, this place is huge. That in mind, it can also be incredibly crowded, especially during rush hour and in the early evenings on the weekend. Prepare to stand in the line/queue for awhile.Some of the aisles are organized strangely (dont bother trying to compare an on sale fresh fruit to its frozen cousin as its on the opposite side of this very large supermarket). Affordability varies, so pay attention to sales. Great deals on seafood sometimes. Large produce selection.The staff are a hit or a miss. Some are very polite and informative. Some are visibly exhausted teens that dont want to be there.

This is a decent store but shift managers are a little slow to open lanes at night. They are content having a 14 or less item lane open and making people with full carts check themselves out. I go through the lane. I do not work for Hannaford... why would I do all the work?

Reward program was down on Monday. Could not use the accumulated points, not did I get credit for the purchases I made. Then arrived home to find all the fresh peaches were rotten inside and two of the four nectarines were not edible either. Hannaford, youre wasting my time and my money. NO MORE!
