Great staff. Great store. Smallest Reuben Ive ever had from a deli. It was like a kids portion. Barely any sauerkraut. It tasted good wasnt worth the price.
I tried the New Seasons - Slaw, Spice & Everything Nice burger (Burger Week 2021) and I substituted a Beyond patty (the substitution is offered, free of charge). This was my first time trying a Beyond Burger, and I was pleasantly surprised! Very similar flavor to beef, and a relatively similar texture. The house-made summer slaw was fresh and colorful, the harissa aioli was pleasantly spicy, and havarti cheese is a fun way to subtly enhance the flavor of a burger. The New Seasons staff were friendly, professional, and accommodating. At a very reasonable price of $6, Portland Mercurys Burger Week is something fun to do that doesnt break the bank. I was very satisfied with my experience. If you like my photo, feel free to follow me on Instagram for more (casual, predominantly local) greater-Portland-area foodventures.Instagram: jonathan.grubb
I am concerned I was unnecessarily profiled last night—10:30 or so, for some reason (maybe late night Sunday shoppers are weird? I don’t really know). I felt as though I was being watched and followed and as I approached the cashier, one employee who didn’t yet see me behind her whispered a question to which the cashier (who saw me) did say, “she’s right there…” in a hushed tone, then greeted me with a normalvolume “hello how are you doing?” as we made eye contact. I hope I am wrong but if I’m not, WHY?It’s a nice store with lots of great things I don’t easily allow myself, given the price of things. I was just enjoying seeing it all, perhaps taking longer.
Wonderful customer service! I had a very pleasant conversation with a cashier, she was efficient and very friendly and definitely deserves some sort of recognition!
Great welcoming environment and right in the neighborhood.
I believe this is about New Seasons so yes they were wonderful and Ive only been there twice now in the past week! A wonderful friendly lady talked to me for 30 minutes about natural thyroid Aid capsules as opposed to the levothyroxine Ive been taking for years that is most likely the cause of the hell I have been going through the past couple 3 months! They even said if it doesnt work I can bring it back in a couple of weeks or so and get my cash back! This lady was a small lady with blond hair who says she is very physically delicate so she knows about all kinds of natural and other cures and maintenance! Cant think of her name right now but she was hey sweetheart she even let me pray for her!
Great customer service, always very kind interactions with staff. it’s a rather small new seasons so it seems quieter. however, i have had several sour experiences with customers at this location (e.g. rudely cutting in front of me in line—and the cashiers kind of enabling it)
Quality stuff. I usually go here for the excellent deli and fine cheese selection. They also have a wide range of quality beverages (juice, sparkling water, tea, wine, beer). Don’t usually purchase produce since it’s expansive and not that much selection.
Its amazing store lots of local favorites there and easy access.Close to home and also very friendly masked workers there. Always willing to help locate items if needed. We needed some fresh stew meat and veggies for our home made stew.We found exactly what we needed and it was quick service. Also sometimes the clearks share tips and tricks in regards to what your making or items that are being purchased. Solid store to get all the essentials and morePlus very yummy bakery items.
Slightly pricey since theyre a yuppie health food specialty grocery, but very good for all kinds of ingredients for good cooking. Not too shabby for specialty chocolate either, but watch the labels! There was one that was 100% cacoa, and that really didnt please. They also have a full kitchen and you can order food and eat there. Nice atmosphere.
Really good customer service and all the things you want from a New Seasons is here. Deli was pretty awesome compared to other NS I havee been to and the only complaint I would have is the store is kinda cramped and small but just avoid high traffic hours and its not an issue.
I am from San Diego, CA traveling up to Portland. Such a cute store with so many wonderful things to choose from. If I lived in this area, this would definitely be one of my regulars!
Overpriced but at least we can buy here everything we need and plastic free.I just wish they could offer better deals for healthy veggies and fruits.
There are some things at New Seasons that you can’t get at other stores. My roommates shop there and create delicious meals at home. Out of all the options available they have the best quality produce generally speaking. For example my sister’s brother in-law put together an excellent meal including brisket, mashed potatoes and zucchini.
I like stopping here floral department is great lots of fresh items in the deli and produce accommodates all diets great prices
We moved to Denver in oct 2020, and we sooooooo miss new seasons. Denver had several chains but nothing comes close to new seasons. Produce is soooo much better, meats are better, fresh and grab and go are better, beer and wine options are sooooo much better. Just a pleasure to shop new seasons again.
Nice staff! Clean & neat store, nicely arranged. Great healthy & not so healthy specialty items. Bulk foods still available on my last visit.
They really are the friendliest store in town. Not quite in Whole Paychecks orbit but still very expensive.
I too happened to have the unfortunate experience of having some miserable employee bag my groceries. She purposely crammed twice as much stuff into a single bag than should be in there, then followed that up with a sarcastic and condescending “there you are, have a nice day.” I grabbed a couple more bags and divided it up to where it would fit in the bags. Not a person that I would have dealing with customers.
Too expensive for me to shop, I got a gift card for this place.. Organic and earth friendly. Staff were all genuinely friendly and helpful employees!
Great produce super nice staff. Always have other cool things I find like a tie dye mask kit!
Claims to be inclusive, but specifically charges disabled people more for groceries after making it unsafe for us to shop in their stores. Highly disappointed.
New Seasons appeals to certain facets of my personality. Care to take a guess as to which facets these are?
Good selection of food but the aisles are narrow and its hard to move around in there safely.
Super rude employees. They keep the bathroom doors locked and require you find an employee then when you ask an employee they get irritated you are bothering them and overreact that you are approaching them like you are about to infect them with COVID. Won’t be returning to this New Seasons. It is the only one I’ve had this experience at. Don’t require people find an employee if your employees don’t want to interact with people.
Lots of great produce and baked goods. Little spendy, especially the vitamin and health section. But I still like the stores because they are always clean and the staff is very helpful.
New Seasons always seems to have what I need before I realize I need it. I usually walk out with more than I intended, but in a good way. They have an excellent selection of fresh local produce and really go hard for berry season, which I appreciate. Theyve also made safety a priority during the pandemic and seem to be taking it more seriously than some other grocers Ive been to.
Really nice market with quality foods and prices that reflect high quality.
The Best!
Its ok but ridiculously spendy
Friendly and nice, clean and you have many options.
I wish that the employees were happier. Please consider resolution.
Great stores to shop at. Excellent produce selection. Many organic options. All other areas such as meat department, bakery and deli are top notch also. Many organic and natural foods to be had. I highly recommend this establishment
Everything I needed and more some.😃👍
Some of the best prepared food. Awesome local beer selection
Excellent neighborhood grocery store. Lots of pre prepared food items in the deli area. A great bakery. Friendly staff. Products youll not find at the big grocery stores.
Good quality and smart foods. its price is almost reasonable
On top of the roof is a bottle redemption site !
Went shopping for the first time since 4th of July weekend - someone was sitting at the front door as if they were limiting entry, but the store was thronged, no one social distancing, no one sanitizing baskets, a woman hovering next to me in the check out line. Dont shop here, it doesnt feel safe and they are putting their employees at risk for minimum wage.
Always friendly and helpful. This is one of the best and safest grocery stores in town!
This New Season is smaller than the others that I have been to, but what makes up for that is the fact that they have parking that is off the street. Which is convenient, given the location, street parking can be hard to find in that area. Got in and out of there fairly quickly. If you havent tried their Banana Cake, you should, this was the main reason why i went there.
To many people, and speace is too small. The food quality is great.
Always well stocked
Local honey dispenser 😍 really friendly staff
A very good Market filled with Organic and natural products! The bakery makes exquisitely delicious cheese breadsticks for 99 cents. There are good Bargains each week, and often you may sample delicious products. The staff is happy and informative
Friendly staff, great choice of groceries.
Over priced, curated selection of things they know you will pay for. Consistent as usual...
The social distancing is a disaster. Confusion about who is in what line. People pushing back into the aisles while waiting to check out is a disaster.A rude woman pushed past all who were waiting to check out. And no one stopped her. I will not be returning any time soon. Fix the check out situation.Put up a sign that states line starts here with an arrow. It was the worst COVID organization I have seen in PDX since this all started.
Ive lived in the neighborhood for over a year without going here. I have been missing out. Wonderful place to have down the street.
Great place skip that amazon/whole foods market and support local.
Good layout, lots of options and specialty items. Fresh ingredients and tasty to go foods.
I love this place! Prices are a bit higher than other local stores but worth it. I use my Amazon Prime discount. The store is always clean and smells wonderful. The restrooms are well attended and clean. The cashiers always friendly and helpful. Repeat customer.
Employees must be miserable. Just mean and rude. This store is a pass.
The absolutely worst store ever. I have a service dog and the lady wiping carts laughed at me when I told her and wanted to hold and inspect his card no way covid germ lady. Rude and stuck up snobby store.
Great atmosphere
I call this store ‘Magic Seasons’ cuz that how it feels when i’m here. ✨
Way too crowded for Corona time. I felt like a mask wasnt enough in this place. 🤮
Very nice, I walked from Grant High School to get a cookie. Really good cookie and staff were really nice. Awesome business.
This market has exceptional salmon cakes!! Their bakery 13 for $20.00 deal is beyond phenomenal 😍
I love new seasons. Sandwitchs are expensive but so worth it
My favorite grocery store to shop at. Staff if friendly and helpful. The deli is great. Meat case has a large assortment of items. They also just started a loyalty program!
Locally owned health foods and groceries. Sort of the local equivalent of a Trader Joes/Whole Foods/Berkeley Bowl. Check out the ready-made foods in the deli and ask for a sample if youre unsure. Staff encourages customers to taste and try before they buy. Friendly helpful staff too!
Pretty really cool place. As a vegan it has such a large variety of different vegan goods which I love (not as much as Food Fight!). The prices are about what youd pay at whole foods but I think its nicer atmosphere.
I love all their local products and the friendly staff. Melt favorite place to shop
Went for my monthly shopping to NE Hawthorne location. I was pleased to see active efforts to offer and sustain safety protocols. There were geaters at both entrances, baskets a d carts were disinfected, floors were well marked for easy flow., and more. Now if only shoppers would follow them. I saw people taking off their masks, walking down any aisle they liked instead of following the arrows, etc. I think that this store is too small for more than 5 people to shop totally safely. Otherwise, the selection was great. Granted paper goods, pre-packaged items had gaps in inventory, but I think its to be expected under current COVID-19 culture.
Used to be amazing in everyway. REALLY gone down hill lately. Everything that gave this store personally has been sold out of it.
I love New Seasons! It is probably my most favorite grocery store chain we ever, and one of the things I missed most about Oregon when I moved. The people who work here are so friendly and helpful! 🤩
Really friendly place, as they like to say about themselves. A bit more expensive than larger grocery stores but the produce is usually better, and usually organic. Their deli section is popular, and they make hot woks with your choice of ingredients while you wait. They offer discounts to military and seniors, each one day a week. Great place to get groceries.
Excellent selection of meats and cheeses. Great helpft staff to assist the shoppers.
As always super
The 3-star review is mostly due to the fact that, of the 5 times Ive ordered a sandwich at the deli in the past year, theyve only gotten it right ONCE. And my sandwich orders are not complex. I always get one of the standard sandwiches, but I sub out one of the ingredients and ask for it toasted. So, one star for the deli, five stars for everything else.
Great selection and love that I can get a great bite to eat while shopping! Erik is so helpful and friendly when I was checking out. Ill be back again!
This is a New Seasons Market. It is generally clean and pleasant.I dont agree with the prices of New Seasons, which is why I always try to steal at least one item. Sometimes they catch me and Im forced to pay full price for the item. When they catch me and I pay for the item, I go back and graze from the bulk bins with my bare hands.
I love New Seasons grocery store! It is my go-to restaurant for easy, high quality food. The customer service is the best and I will always be impressed by the amount of diversity New Seasons attracts.
A fairy nice, organic focused supermarket, taking almost similar positioning as Whole foods, but they are into slightly more local ingredients maybe? Anyway a very good place for not only residents, but also visitors/tourists!
Clean fresh produce. Check out deli for unusual dishes: Sweet Potatoes with Lime and Spices. Takes away too sweet taste and adds great to salads, sandwiches. Parking is manageable. Real deals on Organic products!
The staff her embodies the Portland, too cool for school attitude. For example, today I went in to by a coffee and a scone. I brought my little card to the register and the cashier didnt say hi or hello. He just started to ring me up. The first thing he said to me was $4.99. I gave him a twenty and he said a penny is your change. I said thank you and he said nothing. This isnt an isolated incident. We live around the block and our neighbors and I joke about how incredibly rude the friendliest store in town is. It is sad when you can get better customer service at the Fred Meyer. The only reason this didnt get 1 start is because for some weird isolated reason, the team that works at the pastry case and the coffee bar are really friendly. Some how their level of friendliness hasnt spread to the registers, meat counter, or deli. Sad.
I LOVE this market!! It has everything I need in a small market and more! I love how really friendly everyone is! They completely make my day and I leave smiling not only because I got the freshest, healthiest, affordable organic food here, but also I got some smiles and good cheer. That goes a long way, folks! Thanks for this awesome store!!
A little expensive but the snack I got was good
Great people, best produce, senior discount on Wednesday, & military discount Tuesday (I think). Wonderful baked goods.
Love the roof parking, good selection and very high safety standards.
Great foods but with narrow aisles and limited selection, i better know what i want and where it is or it can be frustrating. I expected to find nutritional yeast, but it was only in the bulk section, last aisle. If they have it packaged then it must be hidden because i went down every aisle except wine.i do understand the need to have e good wine and beer selection but i think the footprint may be getting ridiculous with trying to carry all these craft beers.
This is a good store, theyve got friendly staff, a good selection of natural and organic food and a nice selection of house hold items. I love their cakes! They do tend to have long check out lines though.
Had everything I needed
I was just in the Hawthorn store, went to the meat department, two people behind the counter with their backs to the counter, ignoring the counter. A woman is talking away to someone stocking shelves, social chatter, after around 10 minutes she turns around, is wearing a new seasons badge, identifies herself as a manager. After telling her that I had been trying to get someones attention for quite awhile, she proceeded to behave in an Oscar winning display of passive aggression, apparently didnt like her social life interrupted by customer care. When the managers behave so badly, hard to expect anything better from staff. The front register staff were kind and decent, perhaps they can run an I service in customer service for the meat department and their obnoxious manager. Not sure that rudeness and high prices are going to keep this company in business.
I was building Beaverton middle school and would get my lunch here, very good salad bar
Its a new seasons market. The parking lot is tiny and is always busy here but I like their food selection and their cuts of meat are great
Really exotic store! If you like whole foods, youll love New Seasons. The feature I liked the most is the space meter that shows how many spaces are available on the top level of the parking garage, i found this to be very helpful.
I really like this grocery store and the effort that they put into it to make it really special and have a lot of variety of very healthy things! My only issue is that on my income I cannot afford to shop there as much as I would like to...but if you have the finances this place rocks!
Love New Seasons. Especially cheeses, breads, and humanely raised meats. Staff is welcoming, and genuinely seems happy to see me. Also appreciate 10 percent senior discount on Wednesday. Also have 10 percent discount for veterans on Tuesdays.
You can always count on new seasons to deliver fresh goodies and dine wine.
Other than some staff not knowing what theyre doing and the food being over priced... Meh. The dogs walking all over and tripping me wasnt as bad as all the homeless begging for my cans and bottles. I really loved the pan handlers right next to the door making it hard to get in
Always good although they just sold the whole New Seasons chain to a South Korea company. See what they do to the brand?
