We have been getting all of our cakes from this location, I honestly can’t remember since when. Trust me they do an amazing job and it’s so yummy! We always get The Executive. If you need a cake you must try this place!

We purchased our wedding cake from FAT Cupcake. Delicious lightweight cake. The guest-favorite was the vanilla with lemon curd filling. Delivery was on time. There were a couple of options that we were hoping for but were unable to get - were unable to mix and match tiers of poppy seed or red velvet cakes (all tiers had to be the same with this option). All in all good cake and service.

Really friendly workers. The pictures on the website look delicious! We picked out a few cupcakes for a birthday. Kids loved the unicorn and the Raspberry Rex. I split the goody gracious and the other peanut butter-chocolate one, and liked the goody gracious the best. We will be back!

I had a terrible breakup recently. Everything is awful, but chocolate and sweets help a bit. Having seen a billboard for fat cupcake, I decided to try them out. Chocolate coping is best coping.I bought 3 cupcakes. I ate the cupcakes (yes, all 3, stop judging.) I then despairingly cursed my decision to buy only three cupcakes.Seriously though, these are good. These are really, perfectly delicious in a way that hits you in the feelings and the taste buds. The cake is soft and spongy and perfect. You can tell the bakers have it down to an exact science.The cinnamon bun cupcake especially was incredible. I was expecting a cupcake, not an actual cinnamon bun with cream cheese icing in cupcake form. It somehow disappeared as soon as I took my first bite.This place is awesome because its near me but very dangerous for the same reason. Ill have to try every flavor they have.

Holy bananas these were good cupcakes! I got a random assortment of a bunch of tiny ones for my husbands birthday celebration, everyone had a fit over how tasty they were. People were genuinely mad at me that I didnt get enough for everybody to have more than one because there were so many different and interesting looking flavors that people couldnt pick.Oh well, guess it just means Ill have to go back. 🤷🏻‍♀️

These cupcakes were sooo good! I splurged for my birthday on a bunch of mini cupcakes and got a good mix of flavors and all were very delicious! Even the few leftover cupcakes which were kept in the fridge overnight weren’t dried out the next morning! They were just as moist and delicious the next day. Their customer service when I called in my order and when I picked them up was great!

THESE CUPCAKES WERE DELICIOUS!! I got the mini version of the larger ones for a good affordable price. The cake is most and has lots of tasty flavors. Really friendly employees!

Delaney and the rest of the team at the SE location did an amazing job! We wanted a simple wedding cake, with the top tier being a gender reveal, as we are expecting. They were so accommodating throughout the whole process, and excited to help us with this wish of ours. Prices were very reasonable for the wedding cake, and it tasted absolutely incredible. They did such a fantastic job for us! Thank you SE team!

I seriously don’t know how this place has such good reviews. I called them to see if they could make me a cake with a bow on it and they said yes so I went in to order it and they told me they couldn’t do a bow???Ok fine whatever I guess. So I ordered my cake chocolate with raspberry filling. I ordered it over a week in advance to my baby shower. The cake I needed up with was chocolate with strawberry. I was extremely disappointed. And the cake really wasn’t that good I wish I would have gone somewhere else.This was 3 years ago and I’m still upset about it.

The branding is cute, and I was sold by their social media presence and reviews left by others on Yelp and Google. Being a foodie, having a sweet tooth and always seeking to find the best in its category locally, I am sharing my honest feedback based on my experience.The store I went to was in SE Portland, coming from Beaverton, about a 30 min drive. Its a very cute and small store with a vintage vibe to it, no onsite parking but close enough parking available in the residential street nearby. They did enforce safety precautions for covid (limited capacity and mask requirement), which I appreciated. The ladies at the counter and whoever I placed the order with on the phone were gems and a delight to work with. Great attitude and customer service. They even accommodated a slight tweak in my order (not custom) an hour before I picked up.They have everyday flavor offerings as well as limited/seasonal flavors (for Easter they had carrot cake and hoppy easter cupcakes) in both regular and mini sizes. You can also go the custom route but there is a minimum order of 12. I did not opt for that only because this was for my virtual baby shower and I didnt need a dozen cupcakes all to myself, just for the decor. I ordered 6 of the regular sized ones in: The Intern, The Professional, Lemon Doodle and White Velvet. The box was nicely packaged and wrapped in saran wrap to preserve it in the fridge until it was time to display/eat.Coming to the taste of the cupcakes, I reallllyyy did not like the mouth feel of the frosting, but thats just me. It felt very greasy/oily in the mouth which I wasnt a fan of. While it wasnt exactly the cheap buttercream frosting that some of the grocery store bakeries have, it also was not like the cool, fluffy frosting with that delicate balance of sweet and creaminess- it just felt like I had a bunch of shortening in my mouth. The cake itself was underwhelming, not to be critical but I have had boxed cake mix that was more moist and flavorful. The cake flavors unfortunately were too bland to be anything noteworthy. The combination of the texture of the frosting and the dull cake flavors was not a win for me in the cupcake department.I will continue my search to find the perfect cupcake in Portland! If youre looking for something cute, reasonably priced and dont care so much about the cupcake flavor being generic, its a great place. But if youre looking for a truly exceptional flavor/texture experience, perhaps this wouldnt be the top choice.Ultimately, my rating was based on the exceptional service I received and not the taste of the cupcake as much, because thats completely subjective and people have different preferences when it comes to what appeals to them personally.

We all really loved the custom cake we ordered but we went back to try the cupcakes a few weeks later and they werent what we were expecting. Ive only tried 1 kind of cake from here, yellow cake with buttercream icing and loved it. One the other hand Ive tried 3 different cupcakes and it just wasnt the same or anywhere comparable of an experience. I may or may not give their cupcakes another shot but I more than likely will be ordering another cake from them.

I am NEVER disappointed when I photograph a wedding or event and they have Fat Cupcake because they are SO good! And i know I better grab one early because there wont be left overs either. Not only do they taste amazing but they are beautiful too!

The store is super cute. We loved the atmosphere, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful to ensure we avoided any allergies. The cupcakes are... okay. We werent blown away, but were glad we tried them. Will we order from here again? Probably not. But we dont regret trying them.

Bought a 2 layer lemon cake for my 50th birthday. Cake was over beaten, dense, and dry. Buttercream frosting was solid, I could have used it as morter for tiles. Lemon curd was all sugar and little lemon. Shame, I wanted to love it. The plates on the table with cake left, indicated I had not made a good choice. Sucks, I didnt have time to bake, so I left it to a professional.

This cake was so yummy. This is a 2 layered wedding cake with a 10 and a 6 with the naked frosting. Its their Pretty and Pink cake which is a pink champagne cake with white chocolate mousse filling and Vanilla Buttercream. I did the topper and flowers on it but it was a perfect canvas to work with. So happy with it!

This is one of my favorite ways to treat myself. The Pretty and Pink cupcake is DELISH, by the way. And the staff are warm and friendly.

These are the absolute best cupcakes ever. I have sensory issues with texture and have always had a problem with the graininess of buttercream. This buttercream though is so creamy and smooth. I can actually eat a whole cupcake with this place. Plus the variety of flavors is refreshing and fun to see. The staff here tops it off with being amazing. They work together so well to create a fun warm environment. I was helped by Bre and she was very nice and super helpful with choosing flavors. Highly recommend this spot or any of their locations for any cupcake lovers.

I do like their cakes & cupcakes! I had been getting my whole familys (8) cakes for about 7 yrs now from the Woodstock location but when I recently got my cake it was made wrong . I was told I ordered the cake that way, which obviously was not the case, so instead of apologizing and owning up to the mistake, she just wouldnt own up. Its really a shame and Im very disappointed ! I really regret spending so much of my money here ! :(

It’s just about our 1 year anniversary, and we are looking forward to ordering another cake from Fat Cupcake to celebrate. For our wedding cake we had three tiers with “naked” frosting. The bottom was chocolate cake with latte mousse, the middle was vanilla cake with lemon, and the top pink champagne and marionberry. Every tier was delicious, and the frosting looked absolutely beautiful! We went to a wedding a few weeks after ours, and I definitely thought our cake tasted much better. 😉 (Fat Cupcake’s was perfectly soft & moist as well as well balanced flavor! If you don’t love frosting, the naked frosting is the perfect touch!)Our wedding was on a Sunday, and they don’t usually deliver on Sundays, but we were able to pay for them to deliver out to Newberg. From the taste testing to the delivery, every interaction we had with Fat Cupcake showed that they truly care about their customers! I highly recommend them for your wedding!

Absolutely wonderful cupcakes, that have the perfect cake texture and delicious frosting! And they are not overly sweet! Flavors and presentation also top notch. I am so picky about cupcakes and these are truly among the best Ive had. And they were open during the ice storm on Valentines day!

Honestly, not my favorite! Bought a few different cupcakes from this place recently. They were ok. None of them quite lived up to what their names described. Too much sugar, not enough actual flavor. Maybe I just caught them on a bad day? Who knows.Saint Cupcake, downtown, is the way to go.

So, lets start with $19 for 5 cupcakes. Which, can be understood if we are talking phenomenal cupcakes. Were not. Standard size cupcakes which, as you can see in some of the photos are not even fully covered with icing. The cake part tasted like a mix from a box and icing was very bland. There was some cute art, but bottom line is you want it to be tasty. Just average. Unfortunately, wont be returning.

These cupcakes were so yummy! Even the mini one that I got too! They have a large selection and was so hard to choose from. My favorite is the pink one! The staff was super friendly, I would definitely recommend and come back!

Wonderful! My husband and I usually pop in occasionally for a delicious cupcake treat, but we just recently ordered a “gender reveal” cake for our little one. The cake was completely customizable and the staff is always friendly. The cake itself was fresh, moist and delicious and it was ready the same day! We couldn’t have been more pleased with our purchase! We will definitely be ordering more cakes from Fat Cupcake. We also love their rotating seasonal flavors of cupcakes as well. Great little shop!

My husband and I wanted to have cupcakes for our wedding, and came here for a cupcake tasting. The staff were super friendly and the cupcakes were delicious! They have standard-sized cupcakes and mini cupcakes in many flavors as well as some savory pastries. I am a big fan of the mini-cupcakes because standard-sized cupcakes are usually overwhelmingly decadent for me. Overall we really enjoyed our experience with the cupcake tasting.Edit: we ended up getting cupcakes from here for our wedding and they were GREAT. Delicious and good quality, the mini cupcakes held up really well through heat and being transported across town. They also froze very well and we are still enjoying the leftovers from the wedding! We would highly recommend this bakery.

I am about a year late on this review but I am writing it now because my daughters second birthday is coming up and I am ordering from them again! My daughter had a Swan Lake themed birthday party so I wanted something simple but what I got was am most cake with the best flavor ever. Ordering and pick up was very easy!! You will not regret going here!

First time at Fat Cupcake and could not make up my mind on which one to get. I was so excited to see their littles so I could choose a couple different flavors. The cake was wonderfully light and all of the flavors went so well together, not too sweet either. Will definitely be going back as the preggo cravings continue!

Very disappointing. I bought a Marion Monroe cake for my moms birthday. For the price I expected something along the lines of great Portland bakeries like HB or J. This was not it. Overpriced which I dont mind but it did not taste good. No flavor in the Marion berry filling and the frosting had a weird aftertaste.

I got six cupcakes for my friends birthday. They were all demolished! These were the best cupcakes I have ever had. The cake was so incredibly light, moist and fluffy all at the same time. We ordered our wedding cake from FAT Cupcake and I cannot even put into words how pleased I am! Not only was it delicious (vanilla with latte moose on the bottom and top tier and champaign with white chocolate moose on the top tier), but it was beautiful!! Customer service was top notch and delivery up to Corbett was on time. I would highly recommend FAT Cupcake for your wedding cake!

Nice little place, quiet! GREAT cupcakes. They are super busy working in the back, but very nice. No wi-fi, not ideal for remote working, but would be okay for a snack and chatting with friends.

We purchased our wedding cake through the Portland location and I have never tasted something this good! We tried three other wedding cake options and they all tasted awful or too underwhelming for the price. Delaney was helpful and the end result was beautiful. Our cake was delicious, and reasonably priced. Our guests loved it! I think people were more excited about our cake than the wedding! I would recommend this company to anyone for any event. Great cake. Great people. Great service.

I started coming here event cakes last year and I have had amazing experience. They do a fantastic job and the cakes are so good. So today I picked up a baby shower cake for my sister who is pregnant with twins. They did not disappoint. The cake was decorated by Sam and is amazing.

Their service is always consistently good. Their cupcakes are crowd pleasers. Theyre a wonderful occasional reward for my kids when they done well in school, chores, etc.

I hardly ever get in that area and I use to go there when it was His Bakery.Loved his cakes.When seen it was a bakery still had hubby stop. I swear the kid told me they where whipped frosting so I got 2 of them one for Grandkids ages 3,6,9. And family for our movie night.Come to find out it was Buttercream. The kids eat the cake but the frosting was way to sweet. When ya spend 36.00 on a small cake ya would hope the whole thing would get eaten..Very disappointed the cake was good and the filling. But the best part of a cake to me is frosting (whipped frosting.) Didnt even eat a half of one cake. So had to throw away a cake and a half. Really hit the pocket book.Next bakery I go to I will make sure its whipped frosting and not over sweet buttercream.

This place has the best cup cakes I have tasted yet I have tried other places one in Grescham I believe called Sugar cube I tried lollipops and another place somewhere on Stark but this place has really great tasting cupcakes and well done frosting not so sweet and bread not so dry it’s nice and moist, however after being an ongoing customer I have ordered cakes and they’re really weird about their customization I can only order cakes that they have customize and everything you want extra is extra cash turns out pretty expensive and I have to jump through loops in order to have a cake customized my way

Really great and has so many funny names for the cupcakes. My one complaint is that the people there were a little pressuring into making my choice fast even though no one else was in the store.

The Cupcakes are NOT fat. Maybe fattening. They seem to rely on clever names instead of hefty cakes. Location and quality was better when it was his bakery.

We went in to check out birthday cakes. Ultimately we did not buy one. Not because the cakes in here are not delicious just because what I wanted was way more expensive than I wanted (1st birthday cake) we will however be ordering a small wedding cake from here. Tasty treats!!! My Husband and I went there and tried a few mini cupcakes two days ago. We only bought four and we felt like fools. When we got home we wanted more. Yesterday we went there and ended up with a dozen minis. Which brings me to today... today all I have wanted to do is to go back. I even shared photos on Facebook of these wonderful cupcakes and inspired a friend to go try them. They are very moist and the flavors I have tried are quite delightful. The staff has been very gracious. Definatly worth a try!!!

I stopped in to the Southeast Portland location yesterday 15 minutes before closing time to pick myself up a cupcake to celebrate my 30th birthday, The moment I walked in I was basically rushed out, There was a gentleman mopping the floors making it very obvious I was in his way, and the girl at the register just made me feel very rushed like I was interrupting her or something,I just picked three random cupcakes and left, The cupcakes were good but the bad customer service definitely outshined the cupcakes. I live a few blocks away and Im pretty saddened by the service I received yesterday. I will not be returning to this establishment.
