Oh my goodness! So amazing! They have tons of flavors of mini pies and you can even turn them all into milkshakes!!
Ordered delivery this morning. Everything we got was delicious and they followed little order instructions like not putting ice in the drinks. Delivery time was spot on, too. We got some cookies and biscuits, a hog in a quilt, and one of each pot pie (chicken and mushroom). This might be our new go-to spot for Saturday morning baked goodies. Definitely recommend this place!
Just moved to the neighbourhood and was THRILLED to see that we’re still close to a The Pie Spot location. We love The Pie Spot, my girlfriend would push someone in front of a bus if it got her here faster. The breakfast sandwich is so good we’ve yet to try anything else (and we’ve been here upwards of 10 times). The vegetarian patty is great (and that’s coming from a meat eater), and the fact that they have gluten free buns and can alter menu items makes this place fantastic for those of us with allergies and intolerances (I have a severe tree nut allergy). The lemonade is also great- a perfect balance of sweet and sour. The location is solid- while getting a park right outside can be a little challenging, there is lots of street parking in the area. There’s a little picnic table outside where you can enjoy your meal, and there’s also some planter boxes nearby that you can stand and eat at if you like. The staff are always incredibly friendly and the wait is never long. There’s an epic butcher right next door with a fantastic array of offerings (including dog treats) which is fun to browse in while waiting. Highly recommend, and say yes to hot sauce with your order!
Oh my goodness. These pies are so good! I first tried one at a wedding. Confession: at the end of the night, a friend and I each snuck another one to take home. I was sad to see the storefronts are on the other side of town from me, but its probably just as well since Id be there at least once a week if one were closer.
A must try, very good if you want a sampler/variety of sweets, really good crust which is very important. Ive had better pie....NO CASH ACCEPTED, which is infuriating on a whole other level. Money has been disgusting since the beginning of time and using the scamdemic as a way to enforce this is a shame. Learn how to count back change, otherwise theres nothing stopping you from accepting cash. Its not okay to refuse legal currency.
Love their breakfast sandwich, quiche, and chocolate chip cookies. Their coffee is perfectly fine, but I would not go there just for coffee.
Addicted to that vanilla bean lemon pie, I get it everytime !
Wow. Wow. Wow. The Pie Spot experience was immaculate. We ordered ahead and stood in a social distanced line for just a few minutes to pick up our food and drinks. Everyone was kind and helpful. We ordered a chocolate hazelnut sweet pie, a bacon jam hand pie, a breakfast sandwich, and a pie crust cinnamon roll. Oh. My. God. Every piece had something I didn’t even know I wanted. The breakfast sandwich’s house made Hank sauce and house made English muffin are a combination you can’t get anywhere else. The absolute perfect flakiness of the crust on the hand pie, combined with its complex flavors is enough to make anyone go back for more. The texture of the cinnamon roll is unique and the flavor is spot on. Finally, the sweet pie is an absolute chef’s kiss. Nothing more, nothing less.
We had Pie Spots at our wedding and they were a HIT! These pies are incredibly delicious and were perfect for our event. The Pie Spot offers complimentary pie tasting for events - which was helped us pick our flavors in advance. Our favorite flavor (raspberry rhubarb) was out of season by the time our wedding came around and the owner was generous enough to offer us rhubarb from HER OWN GARDEN to make a special batch for us. I cant recommend The Pie Spot enough!
Delicious pies and friendly service! Banana cream and marionberry were my favorite. I came back next night to order them again :)
Clean, comfortable and quiet place with nice staffs and a big kitchen. One of my favorite places to get snack and lunch during breaks.Chicken pot pie and mushroom pot pie are my favorite. They have the option to add $2 salad to the pies. They also have coffees so a good place to chat with some folks here.
Great crust and delicious fillings. I have had most of their products and all are spectacular!
Was in the neighborhood and going to treat my friend to something sweet after a rough week. I asked Tom which pie he would recommend out of the Marionberry or chocolate hazelnut. He recommended the Marionberry. When he brought me my items he gave me the chocolate hazelnut on the house. Thank you so much, Tom! The pies were delicious!
Had the mushroom pot pie and it was AMAZING. Super yummy and so savory. Was pretty full after eating it. Also had the pie crust cinnamon roll and it was really good as well. Cute and tasty mini pies with great crust! Would recommend checking this place out ☺️
We used pie spot for our wedding and were so happy we did. Their shop had been a favorite for several years so they were our first thought for the wedding. We heard from so many people (even before the wedding) how excited they were for pie instead of just another wedding cake and the pie spots make them easy for guests- no cutting. Not to mention that they are so delicious. They were definitely a hit at our wedding and the pie spot owner was super easy to work with.
This is must stop Pie Spot. I am from California and bring home Portlands goodies when I visit. Enjoy!
This place has the BEST veggie breakfast sandwiches and their mushroom & gruyère pie is the best thing served in the Hollywood district. You have to try it if youre around!
100/10 pies, never too sweet, literal gem!
So so good. The gluten free and vegan pies were amazing and didnt make me feel like I was missing out!
Really doesn’t make sense to allow people to tip your employees in cash but you don’t accept cash for orders? Got through my entire order to be turned away bc no cash, which I didn’t see the sign for cause when I saw their cash tip jar I just assumed cash was fine.Food is probably really good but disappointed in my experience tbh.
There are not enough superlatives to describe the amazing food served by the wonderful people at Pie spot in Portland. They have not only a great selection of individual sized handmade sweet pies but they also have a selection of savory pies, cookies, breakfast sandwich, coffee drinks, etc. During the pandemic, when we shouldnt be sharing food with one another, these individual pies are great for someones birthday, or some other type of celebration. they always have a number of different flavors to choose from, and I have not had a bad one yet!
The brunette girl at the window was super super super rude, for absolutely no reason. It put a terrible taste in my mouth before I even got my food and ruined the whole experience.
The only saving grace here was the sweet pie we ordered. The green chile quiche had way too much cheese (like a gross amount of cheese) and the breakfast sandwich just didnt have great flavor. We also ordered an iced chai and it was... bad to say the least. The sweet pie we ordered was the smores pie and it was really good, though. All in all it was a bit of a let down for breakfast, but wed return for the pie.
Great place for a late night treat after the theater. Really good drip coffee and they have milk to put in it, not just cream. My companion had the lemon vanilla tart and loved it. Nice flaky crust and a bright lemon filling.I had the browned butter pecan. Same lovely crust and rich gooey filling. Two thumbs way up!
Not sure why people rave about these pies unless you love crust. Lack of filling means the pie is 70% crust
Amazing pies. Had a special order that was late and they really made it right. The flavors are sublime. They even have key lime. Chocolate peanut butter, you better try.
Very tasty!! The crust is amazing flaky buttery perfection that has the perfect ratio of fruity filling deliciousness with every bite. Hand held pies should be a think everywhere.
Update: I keep going back. The mushroom gruyere pie is so good. The breakfast sandie with the veggie sausage is amaaaaazing. I cant stop ordering and inhaling the chocolate chip cookies. Not a great first time experience but every time Ive gone back since has been stellar.First time here. The breakfast pie was good, though not great for $10. The not-terribly-friendly gal working forgot my dirty chai, then when I did get it, it was sour and watery. There was no milk in it. Probably wont waste my money there again though I may have if the woman working had employed any semblance of customer service. Honestly, a sorry about that! or have a nice day would have gone a long way.
I really like there pie, breakfast sandwiches are great. They just say they deliver and DONT. The apps say they do but they sure arent in store. I mean, get it together. Stop going offline. K thanks.
Cute diner meets patisserie vibe. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with veggie sausage (though they gave me a meat sausage at first, they kindly corrected it) and their caramel latte. Both items were ok, leaning a little on the greasy side. Background music varied, from upbeat pop to punk / hard rock, within a span of an hour and a half. Still considering a future visit to actually try their pies but perhaps not to dine in.UPDATE: Came back for the pie—so worth it! Added a star ‘cause the chocolate hazelnut pie was the perfect mixture of sweet, gooey, and crisp.
We got ~220 pies for our wedding! We bought a the holder featured in the picture and kept replacing pies as they were eaten. They were a huge success! Everyone loved the pies and commented on how special and unique it was.Jessica the owner was a delight to work with from the beginning. She was quick to respond to emails and very helpful when asking any questions. After we came for our first tasting we were sold from her customer service and from the amazing taste of these pies. These are truly the best pies I have ever eaten. Would high recommend for any catering event!!!
The nice person working this evening recommended the gluten free chocolate hazelnut pie....oh my!! It is now my new favorite! Ill be back for more soon 🙂🤫
The Pie Spot is a good place for all kinds of pies, sweet and savory, and other treats like the cinnamon rolls I bought there recently. They make it easy to order online, for pickup or delivery. They also serve coffee and tea.
My favorite deliciously affordable spot to cure my sweet tooth! Theyve got sweet and savory pies like quiches and mushroom pies. My favorite is the smores pie! Hard to not get that every time I go, but other notable favorites are bourbon peach and chocolate hazelnut. Great atmosphere, friendly service, lots of options, and Ive never once regretted anything Ive ordered from here!
Literally everything they make is excellent. The pie milkshakes are outstanding.
The cookies here are some of my most favorite in the city 🍪 So creative and extra tasty! The pies are super creative and amazing as well, loove this spot 🥧
Yeah, um... I only had their gluten free marionberry mini pie. Upon first glance, I was like meh. Then I took a bite and WOAH - perfect tart to sweet ratio, crust consistency was on point... glad it’s far from me or I’d be there daily! So good! I’m going to be thinking about it until the next time I visit :)) Great job, guys!
Sometimes it just hits you, like right in the face. OMG, I gotta have some pie! I give the parking all around this place 2 or 3 stars, but thats what happens when youre on a happenin block. Still, its worth circling twice. Thanks for the excellent service.
I purchased banana caramel cream pie and cinnamon roll made with pie dough. First time from The Pie Spot. Both of the pastries were SO sweet. I dont mind sugary things, hence the pie and cinnamon roll purchase, but with these two pieces all I could taste was sweet, no other flavor. Banana caramel cream pie had a nice crust but overly whipped cream and great amount of caramel on top of the cream and on the bottom of the crust. Sandwich between the caramel bottom and cream was maybe a two tablespoon banana cream. No bananas and the cream tasted more of vanilla than bananas. Because of banana in the name I expected primary flavor to be bananas, like with other pies I had, not a 1/4 cup of caramel in such a small pie. Cinnamon roll dough was really good and flaky but again like with the pie, so sweet. Its a pity when the pastry is good to be drowned with sweetness.
Those cinnamon pie crust rolls though...
Pie shake. Dont think about it, just do it. Marionberry is my favorite. Its a walk up window only at the moment. And no cash, card only. Awesome place.
Chocolate and peanut butter...good lord. See yall again soon.
Delicious pies, every pie weve tried has been great and every pie brought to a party has everyone asking where we got it.
Cool little spot for personal dessert pies and other small pies. The veggie pot pie is something good. So is the salted Carmel banana creme pie.
Excellent! The pie spot is hand made and delicious. The assortment of small bite size pies brings joy only a kid in a candy shop could understand. The great staff and cozy seating arrangement makes this place a great stop for anyone ready to enjoy a productive day. Its way better than a donut shop, its the pie spot!
My husband and I were in the mood for some good pie, when we came across this not as so good pie spot. The sweet pies had too much dough and tasted of cheap gross shortening. The chicken pot pie was better but not much. The center was cold and had no real flavor profile that you would expect from a classic chicken pot pie. We were greatly disappointed. The service was fine and atmosphere was alright. After the food both our stomachs were feeling sick due to eating the food. If you want delicious pie go somewhere else and save the money and pain.
Cute and delicious individual pies. The Apple Brandy pie was fresh and warm, the crust flakey and tasty. Vanilla ice cream was the perfect addition. Also had the Banana and Salted Caramel pie, tasty custard with pieces of banana and perfect salted caramel. Open late on Fridays and Saturdays-- perfect way to end the evening. Definitely coming back!
The small pies are my fav...mix and match pecan, key lime and pumpkin. Delicious!
I went to splurge a little and get a pie...first timer! I got the mushroom pie...it was very tasty. I knew the pies were smaller so I opted for the side salad because I love salad.....Well when I opened it.....it was just plain lettuce nothing not even a humourous shred or two of carrot and a single cherry tomato....anyways Im very sad and now feel responsible for the clamshell of lettuce to take it home and I guess make a salad with it.Also they told me 10 mins it was more like 20 and I was the first in line....not good for grab n go. Staff was nice. Covid sucks but still I tipped well and was polite.Pies are 7/10 salad 1/10
I think if you go in knowing what to expect than your happy!! These are HAND PIES, small - about the size of one piece of pie. And theyre delicious, try the Marion Berry. :) The service was friendly and quick. It is a small space, but if its too crowed for you the staff can have your order to-go.The pies are around $4.50 a piece, which is pretty much average for the area and hand pies in general. Go, get a pie, enjoy.
The pie was alright and service was fast, but when I got home, practically within minutes of finishing it, I got incredibly nauseous, probably a mild case of food poisoning. Four stars because Im sure this is a very rare case, and just a once-in-a-blue-moon thing, and the cashier was kind. (My stomach isnt particularly sensitive. I *am* lactose intolerant, but take supplements to digest it. Definitely wasnt a lactose intolerance problem.)
Their Marion berry pie is awesome. They even have gluten free and vegan options. And all of those tastes great. Definitely a good cozy place for warm winters.
I just finished the breakfast quiche and it was wonderful. It arrived on time, warm and tasty. I dont know what happened today but I did not get what I ordered or paid for. I ordered the quiche and a breakfast sandwich. I received two sandwiches a cookie and no quiche
First visit and it won’t be my last. The chicken pot pie was fabulous! The S’mores dessert pie was really good. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I love the fact that there were board and card games to play which I took advantage of.
The Banana Caramel Pie Spot is the best. Amazing chunky bananas, a hint of vanilla, lots of whipped cream and drizzled with generous amounts of caramel. Im lactose intolerant but you bet I pop a Lactaid and enjoy that pie anyway.Other favorites include the Smores and Brandy Apple. I can vouch for the quality of their lattes. This is a perfect quick dessert spot when dine in is available, and during the pandemic I was so excited to find out that they take online orders for no-contact pick up. A gem that I hope stays around for a long time.
Four star food, three star prices, service with a frown. The coffee was actually quite good! The lemon scone was dry, but the peanut butter pie was very tasty. Four dollars for a dry muffin (sorry, scone) was okay, but the fact that the server (purple haired girl) was rude to us the whole time... Im pretty amazed this place isnt 2-3 stars with service like that.
Always delicious, a special treat; wonderful service, always with smiling eyes.
First time here, guy taking our order was unfriendly and gave us the wrong order.
The pie spot was very delicious. Our group of 4 all got different pies and all were amazing! Highly recommend. Great service, too!
Sausage breakfast sandwich is bomb, the brandy apple pie also is bomb.
Great sweet mini pies, but the real find are the savory pies!I recently got a quiche at the Pie Spot and was blown away. I cant wait to try their pot pies and other options. Their dessert pies are excellent, obviously, but I like that they can do both. Ill be back.
Try the cheeseburger pantai. Lots of great pi and non Pi option :-) made on spot. #pieEqualspie ;) pi = pie #Humanism #PieWillSaveTheWorld
The pies here are absolutely adorable. There is a variety that one can enjoy here. Its great to see that the pies are made from organic fruits. However, the pies are mostly traditional in making. There is no creativity. At the same time, the pies are delicious. Just wish that there were some creativity in the pies. The store us rather clean and spacious. Just note that it is small, so there is not enough room for large groups. The store as a whole does reflect the culture in Portland. In the end, pies are amazing, and the store is quite lovely.
This is a place my husband and I have always loved going to.However, lately if it is around 10pm and they close in an hour, they dont want to make espresso. They say espresso machine already shut down. Espresso with pie is a must for us.They did offer a cup of coffee that had clearly been in the pot awhile. We love the quality of what they make. Also the staff used to be so nice and personable.I certainly hope that they can serve espresso till closing and maybe clean their machine after closing........,.........Thanks so much for reply! We look forward to espresso next weekend.
The first visit I think should be noted as three stars simply because this was my first time, and first times are always exciting although the service I got was met with someone who seemed clearly like they didn’t want to serve people and didn’t know anything about the product. I didn’t care that much, because people have bad days. This time I was met with the same service but with a couple workers who seemed like they were pretty easy people to irritate. Once again, people have bad days. However, this kind of service twice in a row is frustrating. Not to mention, the servers/workers don’t seem to know much about the product they’re selling. In all food businesses I’ve worked, they required you (unless you had dietary restrictions) to at least try a piece of every product so we could speak to it. Might be a good idea here. Or maybe just hire people who like pie more? Two stars because I love pie.
Delicious! The breakfast quiche was fluffy and topped with delicious cheese. The crust on everything is SO good. Tried two sweet pies, blueberry ginger, and apple brandy, both were great.
Hands down my go to place for pie in the city. The last two Thanksgiving dinners they have done all our pies. Everyone leaves happy.
The Pies here are so good. Sweet and savory to excite and complete the palate. The chocolate hazelnut pie was more than I hoped for and their pot pie and quiche delicious! No dissatisfaction here!
Everything we tried was excellent. Each pie we tried was excellent quality. It was a great spot for dessert and I cant wait to go back to try the savory pies.
Family and I went after dinner. We had the s’mores, cranberry-walnut, salted caramel, chocolate chip cereal cookie and peanut butter chocolate. The pies were great and crust was delicious. Service was very nice and the place is very cool. I ate the cookie at home which was the best I’ve had in Portland.
Raspberry rhubarb pie is amazing - just the right amount of sweet and tart and flaky.
Cute, lightly punk vibe. Tasty pies (mushroom and gruyere, yum!) A great place to chill for bit after a movie with friends.
Their cereal cookies are pretty intriguing, but I love them. Same with the pies, be careful not to go overboard with the mini pies, I almost bought more than I can eat. Very yummy
I love this place. Their pies are excellent and their cinnamon rolls are exquisite. My only gripe is that, at least on weekends, theyre never ready when they open. Not the cinnamon rolls, but the whole place. They could take cues from places like Crema (and ever bakery in northern Europe) and have everything baked and laid out before opening.UPDATE: its been a month since their response and, sadly, nothing has changed. I showed up at 8 and... Still not ready.
Some vegan options and they let me wait inside with my dog but not eat inside with the dog. Lots of really amazing combinations and creative concoctions and I believe they are open for custom orders and whole pies but you have to give them a day or so notice. Small bites available for quick snacking!
This is a great place to stop in and have a treat! They have there own parking lot, very hip decor, the staff is very nice and helpful, its clean and smells delightful. Now lets get to what they do best, the baking, the peanutbutter and chocolate pie was the best but the pie crust cinnamon roll (warmed up) was just as good and the blueberry pie was awesome too, you cant go wrong at the pie spot! Skip desert at dinner with your honey and plan on stopping here on the way home for a real treat! 5 stars and Ill keeping coming back, cheers Pie Spot.
I met a friend here on a weeknight. Parking was tricky but the food was good and there was still a nice variety even though it was late-ish in the day. There was a mix of sweet and savory and a cute aesthetic to the place. Friendly service
The Pie Spot is a nice place for a quick dessert after lunch. They dont have the traditional pie flavors, instead they have a bunch of more unique flavors so youre likely to find a type of pie that you havent encountered before. I had the smore pie, it was about the size of your fist and I paired it with a scoop of ice cream. It was very tasty and a nice lighter dessert. I would recommend it and the shop to others.
