Well heck, yall. I had a friend who was interested in purchasing a car from these folks, and I tend to help him with his financial decisions, as Im a bit more grown up and have more life experience with these things than he does.He found the car, presented me with research on whether he thought it was a good deal, and I was more than happy to help him out until I saw the name of the dealership. I froze up.I nearly bought a car here ages ago. The person I worked with at this dealership personally harassed me via phone after I ended our transaction without purchasing a vehicle (I might have purchased it, but the employee began to resort to personal insults about my intelligence and knowledge of cars when I expressed doubts about the purchase given the CRACKED ENGINE BLOCK in a vehicle he had assured me was perfectly maintained and already cleared by the family auto network mechanics)Harassing someone for not purchasing something from you wasnt cool in 2010, and its still not cool these days.I looked back at reviews from that time period, and since. Its interesting to me how in every single review that criticizes the business, the owner/respondent claims there are facts missing (facts that are frequently unbelievable, deeply personal, or otherwise fantastic in a way that makes one wonder about their validity.) With such a glut of reviews expressing similar experiences regarding the conduct of the employees and ownership, its simply unbelievable that each and every individual posting their experience is missing key details. If youre looking for verbal abuse, my ex-boyfriend is available and might even buy you dinner - otherwise, family auto network is a great bet for some personal insults as soon as you say anything they dont like.
Car buying is stressful, especially in the middle of a pandemic. Dwayne made the entire experience super straight-forward, pressure free, judgement free, and easy. Got to test drive multiple vehicles, the one we were really interested in we drove for over an hour. He was even willing to let us have an auto shop inspect the vehicle before we bought it. Weve had it for a couple weeks now, had it inspected, lube job & oil change, and so far no surprises. It works perfectly.
Overall, Id say I had an excellent experience. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Showed up for a test drive, put a deposit on the vehicle I wanted, and Dwayne was exceptionally easy to work with and flexible with my schedule and timeframe in regards to picking up the vehicle. Great service all around. Even took care of some minor issues I had immediately after purchase instead of leaving me high-and-dry like many other dealers would likely do. 10/10 would shop here again.-Andrew
Went in looking to get mom into something nicer than what she had. No hassle at all. The guy was chill. Stayed around to answer all our questions but didnt push or linger. Gave us the carfax first thing. It has been a couple of weeks, mom loves her car and I am happy we got a good deal. I checked the price out on Kelly blue book the dealer sold it mid price. Didnt raise the price to make a buck. I have dealt with a few dealerships over the years this was probably the best experience at a used car lot.
Great little lot. I had visited to many before finding this hassle free lot. He left me alone unless I had a question like I asked. When I found the car I wanted the transaction was quick and easy. I wish this was the 1st lot I tried Ill definitely be back when I purchase another vehicle. Thanks Dwayne.
Sam is the awesome sales guy. He hooked me up. I got a Good deal. Good Dealership. Sam introduced me to a 2002 Buick Regal Black on Tan GS WITH JOSEPH ABBOUD PACKAGE. Awesome ride. Sam will hook you up. Good Credit, Bad Credit and No Credit. No in house financing but, will still get a good deal.
This was my first experience financing a car. Not only did Dwayne make sure I really wanted the van I bought. But he helped me through the entire process, making me feel at ease. Friday night I took my van home, by Monday, he was calling to check on it. I talked about a leak it had, he insisted I bring it in to be fixed. Family Auto Network replaced the radiator and now my van has no problems. The name is true, they make you feel like Family. Thank You!!!
If i could rate a zero i would... dealer assured me that the vehicle i purchased was a great buy. As im a single parent needing a bigger reliable car, i chose to purchase the vehicle. Seemed to run and drive great on the test drive, which was short concidering there was zero gas in the car. I made my trip home and drove the rig for exactly a week, when the transmission failed. Metal shavings in the pan, it was toast. I called the dealership, which they were pretty good and made it sound like they was going to help out with the expenses. Much to my suprise i had to call several times to try and get some kind of answer from them. They gave me the run around daily. Anyways, refused to help pay for any of the expenses... because they only made 260 on the sale .. so i was out a vehicle for an entire month trying to arrange for the purchase of a new transmission and money to pay for the labor. I will never, purchase from this dealer again. Nor wil any of my family and friends.
Great customer service & reasonable pricing! In & out within an hour! Highly recommend.
BUYER BEWARE!!! DO NOT SHOP HERE. I called about a car and was told it was a solid little commuter car with no problems and everything worked. I let them know I had to drive it two hours to get home, and they assured me that everything would be fine and the car had been checked. I sent my sister who lives in Portland to test drive it and then came to sign the papers and purchase the car. I pulled out of the parking lot and the car nearly stalled within two blocks as the gas tank was below empty. After filling up the tank, I made it about an hour on the interstate before not one but TWO tires went flat, leaving me alone on the side of the interstate at night while I waited for AAA. The spare was completely unusable because apparently at some point the car (which had a clean carfax) must have been flooded. There was water damage in the trunk and the spare tire was rusted and rotten. I had to have the car towed the remaining hour home which cost $300. After replacing the two tires, a third tire exploded on the interstate the next day on my way to work, so again I was out a tow and I ended up replacing all of the remaining tires. (another $300). All four tires were completely dry rotted and the tire dealers said that the car had obviously sat for a very long time. After this, the BRAKES WENT OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING and there was found to be a leak in the brake line and a gas leak, both due to the fact that the entire undercarriage is completely rusted out. There are panels of the car that have been repainted and others that havent . When we took it through the car wash, the paint began to drip off and fade on some of the panels . It was completely unsafe to operate and the dealership did not put new tires on even though they had allegedly inspected the car. Then I turned on the air conditioning and found that it also did not work (it was advertised with AC) The estimate for that is $912. I contacted the dealers and they are unwilling to refund any money for the tow, the tires which should never have been allowed to leave the shop, or the air conditioning. They only offered to get a discount on having the AC repaired, but I would have to drive back to Portland. In short, I owe $2300 for a car with no brakes, a gas leak, and many other problems that was deemed unfit to drive and not worth the repairs it would need to be safe to operate. They were unwilling to help me in any way and sold the car knowing about all of its dangerous problems. I bought this car as a daily driver and now it sits in our garage while we make the remaining payments and pay full coverage insurance on it because we have a loan. We will not be able to sell it once we pay it off (not that we would do that to anyone) and will have to have it hauled away. Even parked it is a danger to our family due to the gas line leak. PLEASE dont let this happen to you. We have pending complaints with BBB and multiple other state agencies. DO NOT SHOP HERE IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR SAFETY!!!
These guys were great. My budget was $2,000, and they got me a FANTASTIC 1992 Nissan Sentra with only 71,000 miles and one owner on it. No pressure, and very easy going. Had the paper-work done in a breeze. Ive had the car for a few weeks now and its running great.
Best dealership there is I bought my 2002 ford focus from them its been the best car I have every owned Ive had it for almost 3 years only had to replace one wheel bearing. Sent a friend down last year to buy a Honda accord she loves it only had to replace a window motor. Sent my dad in to buy a ford focus last year notta problem at all. All three of us will buy a car from Sam and Dwayne again
I needed a good reliable car for my son and I was so impressed how they did BS me and helped my figure out what would be a safe and good deal for my family. I was very satisfied with my purchase and the car took us across four states with not one issue thank for doing awesome business and selling us a winner! We will email back for a second car. We got a 1997 Ford contour
I got a great deal on a very reliable car sales office worked with me to get a price that was right for me
Second vehicle I have bought here. This one is very nice for the price and was clearly well maintained prior. The other one, same thing and still running strong. Business dealings were spot on.
The only reason for the one star was because the guy lied to us. After a test drive we knew the rear brakes needed to be changed first. when we asked him he said yes no problem ill change them. we come in the next day to pick up the car he said it was ready to go brakes had been changed and it was fine. driving home was okay for about 10 miles then the grinding started again. took it into Honda dealer and wouldnt you know, brakes hadnt been changed. would recommend having vehicle inspected first
I came to Family Auto after a really rusty screw on my license plate foiled my attempts to remove and replace it, leaving me with stripped screw and a whole lot of frustration. These guys were fast, friendly, drilled out the screw and had my new plate on in minutes. So many places charge you a pretty high minimum service charge, but these guys were great. Ill definitely be back next time I have a minor car repair.
If your a person of color take your money else where. The sales person was very disrespectful. I stopped to look at a truck and mentioned that the price was a bit high compared to the others I had seen on 82nd. The sales person said I dont care about the prices and if I didnt like what he was saying to go buy somewhere else. I said ok I will reached out to shake his hand and he refused. We are the customers with the money, there is no reason to be treated with disrespect. There are many used car lots to spend money with and I will tell everyone to not consider this place. Also the sales person looked to not be happy that I drove up in a very nice car. Its so disappointing when I come Accross this type of personality. I actually was going to buy the truck too.SirI am very careful about my reference to being treated different because of my skin color, I am actually an expert. I have been black for over 50 years and I know when I have been mistreated and for me to take my time to alert your buyers of my treatment says a lot.
Used car dealerships always get a bad wrap, so that is why I am choosing to post my Good review of this place. My friend, dad, and I went here this winter looking for a cheap used car for her. The car had to be manual, excellent mpg, under 150k miles, and in very good shape. We looked at a 2001 Toyota Corolla here that fit all of our parameters. The car was a 2-owner vehicle and was in excellent working/mechanical condition. It was right in line the KBB and Edmunds value at a fair price. It was the perfect car. The owner/sales person who was helping us was mellow and normal. He didnt pressure us at all, he was honest and answered our questions. He didnt try to get us to look at any other cars. He let us test drive it by ourselves and he gave us a fair price on the car in the end. We ended up buying the car and had a wonderful, positive experience overall. I would highly recommend this place after my positive experience here, especially for a used car dealership on 82nd. :)
First off wanted to say this guy has put in more dedication and interest in getting me a car than anyone else kire than he had to. Took forever to get approved but he finally made it happen. I got a 2000 Honda Accord, the hype my boyfriend over this car made it seem like it was going to be a good pick. But unfortunately it was not immediately after leaving the car lot the check engine light came on. I know legally by law the car dealership does not have to do anything so I was screwed, I fouldntcbelieve I was stupid enough to buy a lemon. I called Dwayne in hope for a miracle and iust like that he was very apologetic and willing to help. Since then he has been fixing this lemon for me even as one thing after another brakes on it, its been about a month or two since I bought the car and he is still there helping with it I have decided to just trade this in because it has became a nightmare for me and I cant imagine how bad it is for Dwayne( cardealer) and so far he is very cool very helpful about everything I hope in the end it all this I get a good car it will all be thanks to Dwayne I would definitely recommend him to anyone who needs a car.
DO NOT COME HERE. These guys are nothing but trouble, and will do anything to screw you over and get your paycheck. I came here earlier this year, got one car financed, it ended being completely seized and wasnt worth the money. Insurance claims paid it off. Out of all respect for these guys I fully did not blame them but called it a misfortune and that they had no idea. So I came back for another car only find it was worse than the first. I asked for a family car that is safe reliable as I am expecting. He sold me and infinti QX4 for double what it was worth I find out later. Then it wouldnt even pass deq in the meantime the radiator froze the power steering went haywire and the starter blew all within a few weeks of getting it. Then finally managed to get it to pass deq after a mechanic duck taped it. Now with only having the car a few months the altanator blows. This car is a fluke not worth a cent. All in all I am done with this place obviously the first car was a lemon and he knew it and passed me off a second. If theyll do it to me theyll do it to you. Dont fall for their grooming techniques. Keep on walking.
In February I purchased a 2003 Dodge Stratus R/T from Family Auto Network in Portland, Oregon for 3995. This car came with a WHEELZ warranty that promised coverage on engine and drive train for 3 months or 3000 miles. Two weeks after I bought the car, the transmission went out. I took the car to LeDuc’s in Centralia, and they determined it was the transmission went out, and then I took it to Transmissions Unlimited, for a replacement.I contacted WHEELZ warranty, and they said they would not pay anything until I had the car inspected to see what the cause of the transmission going out was. They sent an inspector, and he determined that it was a part in the transmission that clogged the radiator, which caused the transmission to overheat, and burn up. It was completely fried, and couldn’t even be rebuilt. Because the clog was in the radiator instead of the transmission, WHEELZ warranty refused to cover it. They hung up on me at least 5 times when I repeatedly told them that it was in the contract, that if the transmission went out, they would pay 1700. After a week of hassling with them, I came to the conclusion that they would not pay a cent.I then called the dealership, and told them what was going on. Sam said he was sorry, and would do whatever he could to help us out, and told us to get a quote from Transmissions Unlimited. The quoted price was 3900. When I told Sam this, he said that it was a rip-off and that they would find me a used or rebuilt transmission, and try to lower the price to 3000. He said to call back the next day. After a week of calling back “The next day” Sam told me they couldn’t find the transmission, but they would have a meeting about it next Monday, (it was a Friday) and to call back then. I called that afternoon, and they had not had that meeting yet, and would have it sometime that week. I called back every day, and finally he told me that he wanted to pay the whole thing, but he has a boss too, and is only allowed to pay half of the targeted 3000.They never did find a transmission, and I needed a car. I contacted Sam again and told him I was going to go ahead with what Transmissions Unlimited had decided, and Sam said at that price they wouldn’t be able to pay half, and would only pay 1500, and to go ahead with it. Two weeks later, when the transmission was done, I called them, and they put me on hold for 10 minutes, and then hung up on me. I tried contacting them from several different numbers, and wasn’t put through to Sam.I sent them two emails, and never heard back. Now I get to pay 8000 for a car that I had only planned on paying 4000 for. I would not have bought it, had it been priced at 8000.
If i could give 0 i would.
There were 2 gentlemen there and I got lied to. I bought a car in January was told it would pass DEQ and it did not. Now I have to pay 325$ OUT OF MY POCKET to get the cadillitic converter fixed. Its very frustrating.
Way above kelly blue book!
