They always try to educate me and never push services or maintenance down my throat that I dont need, they just simply explain what preventative maintenance is all about. When my car needs help I usually find out after my oil change and FREE 32 point inspection. After the service we talk about what is all going on, my options and the best plan of attack. Weve even owned a lemon (or 2), where after a little meeting, we concluded that the repairs needed will well exceeded the value of the vehicle. After we found something we brought it to them for a pre-purchase vehicle inspection to play it safe. They went out of their way and worked things out with the local Acura dealership, replaced my catalytic converters for FREE and the only charge was the diagnostic fee. I couldnt have been more pleased and will definitely be back for any and all of my service needs.

My experience at Last Chance Auto Repairs shop was excellent! I am on the young side and by all means dont have a lot of (if any) experience with car repair or maintenance servicing, so starting off at an honest mechanic shop was very important to me, as it is to most people. I found them when searching for towing in Plainfield, due to my wheel came off while driving, and they just so happen to be located on Naperville Plainfield Road a few miles aways from where my car was located. They had me loaded up on to a tow truck within 30 minutes in route to their repair shop. After I dropped off my vehicle they were very informative and happy to answer any and all of my questions. I will be back for all future service needs. They earned my business & trust. Great neighborhood mechanic!

Several weeks ago, we were informed that my car needed a new transmission at a different auto repair shop so we wanted a second opinion. Took my car here and they fixed it within a day -- replaced the air intake duct hose and cleaned the throttle body. Car drives smoothly and no hesitations. We are so pleased with their work and their honesty.

Brought my Dodge Challenger Hellcat with the 6.2L HEMI engine in to get the oil changed a few months back and couldnt have been happier. To my surprise they had two older classic beautiful Challengers inside their shop being worked on. From new to old, looking around their shop it seems like they do it all and after the FREE 32 point inspection that came with the oil change they showed me how my front brakes were in desperate need of replacement. They got right on it, asked me what kind of parts I wanted, broke down all my options and knocked out my brakes with the quickness. My daughters car had broken down and had it towed to Last Chance. Ron fixxed the right front axle and ball joint and got her back on the road. About 85 days later her car quit moving. I called Ron and he towed it to his shop. He checked her car out and found the same right front axle had come apart at the bearing as Its a 2 piece axel . Ron said it was under warranty and he got a new Axel and put it on and we only had to pay for the tow. Ron stands behind his work parts and labor. Ron is a guy u can trust. Had to get the car towed to Last Chance Auto Repairs to get someone to be able to fix my car. The owner was able to fill me in on what was going on with my car. Was unable to get it fixed tonight but will be ready tomorrow. Changing a fuel pump and putting in oil and double checking the antifreeze too. I am very pleased to say that I have found the auto repair facility that I have been looking for for many years! I have an older Jeep Grand Cherokee and it had been making a very loud howling/scraping noise for some time. I took it to a franchise repair shop and they told me it was definitely the rear axle bearings that were bad and that was causing the noise. Well, about $900.00 later, my car still made the same noise. I searched the web and came across Last Chance Auto Repair in Plainfield, IL., and decided to give them a try. I called and spoke with Ron and he said to bring the car in and they would check it out and see what the problem was. I brought it in and Ron said he would get back to me with the information on what was wrong and what would be involved in the repair. Ron called me and told me the problem was in the differential and that the rear axle bearings generally would not cause the noise he heard on the test drive. Ron offered three alternative solutions - replace the differential with a rebuilt/aftermarket one, rebuild the differential, or replace the defective parts in the existing differential. Obviously the pricing varied greatly with the cost for the replacement of the differential being the most expensive and the repair of the existing one was the least costly of the three. I asked Ron what he would do it it was his car and he said he would recommend repairing the existing differential. I would have went with whatever solution Ron recommended and was very pleased with his honesty. Ron and Mike (35 years of experience with Chrysler) made the repairs and the car runs beautifully and the noise is gone. The cost I paid was much less than what Jeep was quoting (without seeing the car) to cure the problem.I was treated with respect, given and honest assessment of the problem and the cost to repair, and made to feel like I was important to them. I will be taking both of my cars in to Ron from now on, and I will be recommending Last Chance Auto Repair in Plainfield, IL. to all my friends and family members.

My daughter hit a pot hole and broke the control arm. She took car to Last Chance based on recommendations and location. She was told the car was totaled and generously offered $50 if she provided the title. The owner asserted that the only thing holding the car together was the dashboard. We declined the $50 and had the car towed to a reputable mechanic. Car is not totaled. It seems Last Chance was more interested in obtaining the car than it was fixing it. I would not recommend using Last Chance.

I would not recommend this place even if it was the Last Place on Earth. they fix my car and told me it took him 10 hrs to fix car for just shim the starter and put a sleeve on my starter wire and charge me $600 the car is still not fixed .They quoted me one price for truck was making humming noise Ron told me its my rear end and made the estimate for $1000 . i took my truck to different shop and found out my rear end is fine .my tires were bad this place have bunch of lairs . after all that i call back to let them them know my car still not working then i get BAD attitude . i say stay away from this place find some one can fix your car for good and not over charge you

This is my new go to auto repair shop near me. Knowledgeable and and very friendly staff. I had a misfire issue due to my spark plugs being way overdue for replacement. Replacing the plugs made a huge difference but unfortunately the misfire was still there. They explained to me since I took forever to change my plugs carbon built up on the piston rings which was causing the problem. So they offered me a fuel system cleaning service which rectified the issue and also increased my fuel economy. Thanks for the help and education!

Great shop. Quality work with experienced mechanics. I went into this shop after another shop in Bolingbrook quoted me $900 for a full exhaust system and the total came out to $236. I waited a day for parts and the car was done the next day. They explained what need to be done and why it costed what it did. I will definitely be coming back to this place for my future repairs and I would recommend these guys to everyone.

I never have to comback after they work on my cars, well until there due for something else. They are very friendly, honest and reasonable. They even came to rescue us when our car broke down. Instead of towing it they brought a battery and installed it on the spot!

Very sexist and unprofessional. My girlfriend went here recently to have some work done and was treated like a “hysterical women” by the owner and his son for complaining about their horrible customer service. They told her multiple times of day that they would call with a quote for the service, but missed the deadlines 2 or 3 times and treated her rudely when she called to ask for updates.Don’t take your car here if you value business that treat women with respect.

I thought my transmission was going, but the people at Last Chance said that although the symptoms sounded like trans, the mileage was too low for it to be that. They were right, the fluid was low and needed replacing but the trans was fine. They took it for a test drive, looked under the hood, did the computer thingie and talked to me about the vehicle and consulted with each other before deciding that all I needed was an overdue tune up.I was impressed with how friendly, professional and efficient the team of people at Last Chance was. I felt like I was letting my very own Dad evaluate and take care of my car just like my college days. The price was fair as well.

I took my Honda Accord to Last Chance Auto Repair for a starter repair. Even though they are in Plainfield, they are very close to Naperville just down Naper/Plainfield Rd. While repairing my starter, they found my radiator was cracked and offered to replace that too. I was charged a very fair price for labor and parts, the work was done quickly and everyone was friendly and knowledgeable. I just want to say that it has been almost six months since getting my Chevy 1500 back from Last Chance Auto Repair. My truck was burning a lot of antifreeze in the cold and kept seeing a coolant low light coming on. I was adding almost a half a gallon every week. Last chance quickly diagnosed my issue and told me the upper and lower intake manifold gaskets would need to be replaced. I had them do that work and also asked they tune up and replace any other cheap gaskets, plugs, filters etc as they were already going to be removing a big portion of my motor and I knew a tune up was due. When I got it back from them the engine sounded better, ran smoother not burning as much gas and best part of all has not burned an ounce of anti-freeze in the last 6 months. We have had some very cold days over the past few weeks and the reserve tank under the hood looks perfect!! Thanks for the good work and as always I will recommend you guys to anyone!

I cant speak to their repair services, but, based on my experience regarding towing/roadside assistance, I dont trust them. I called them for a jump when my battery was dead. The man I spoke with told me that, if the battery was completely dead and not accepting a jump from my charger, it was frozen (wed had a streak of a few below zero days), and a jump would do no good. He offered to bring a new battery the next morning. Since my battery was just over a year old, I thanked him and told him Id be better off contacting the place I bought the battery from. After that, I called another towing company that came out and jumped the battery with no problem. So that means to me that Last Chance either is incompetent or hustles their clients.

I went to this junkyard when i needed 2 control arms on 1 side. I also needed a set of tie rods. The owner quoted me 1000+. After 2 days of diagnosing which cost me 100$ anyway. Drinking on the job is a NO!!!!Customer Beware!!!!!

Poor Customer Service. After seeing the positive reviews, I stopped by for my first time. I had called ahead about installing led fog lights and the older gentleman told me to come by so he could have a look. As we talked in the garage, I showed him the instruction manual & he seemed a bit standoffish about the whole idea. He explained that since my car is new, he didnt want anything to do with the electrical wiring since it could overload my car, even though the led lights dont use much voltage anyways. He then said that I could try to do it since its that simple, but I have 0 experience with wiring. Without even going outside to see the lights, hes just like F* that, it doesnt interest me. What a joke

I would recommend this shop to anyone. Normally when i get work done on a vehicle, it costs a fortune and i walk away angry. After my transmission went out, a friend recommended last chance auto. They were the cheapest estimate out of 3 shops. At first i was skeptical since i never used them. After the job was done, it cost less than what they estimated. First time i didnt feel ripped off by a repair shop. Car runs great and i even got a discount on the tow.

I was moving in 3 days and my car was breaking down. I called them an hour before they closed. They agreed to meet me and when I got there test drive my car and diagnosed it. Even though I wasn’t able to have it fixed they were super helpful and when I was in a time crunch they were able to accommodate me in every way. I would suggest their services to anyone.

This place should be called last CHOICE auto repair. Let my terrible experience save you people from wasting your money. Inexperienced mechanics that have no idea what they’re doing. Put my timing belt on wrong after I overpaid and waited a week. Will not return here again thats for sure!! Go elsewhere !

I believe we got cheated by Last Chance. They did work and quoted $225 and then wanted $385 and claimed their receptionist made the error. After complaining they took off $50. After reviewing the bill we had paid $63 for 4 spark plugs and another $45 to install them. The mechanic claimed these were the only plugs recommended for our car. The most expensive plugs from an auto parts store are $10 each. This is not a performance car and I think the price is excessive. They were charging $27 in labor to change the air filter plus the price of the filter. I am very dissatisfied with this place, will never go back and advise you to avoid them.
