Great environment and food! The peanut butter bacon gluten free cookie was delicious. They also have Vegan cookies. The salad of the month was creative and healthy.
The food was delicious. There was no one in the cafe so I didnt have to wait at all. Perhaps the catering is a bigger part of their business. With food this good, they should have a line out the door.
This is the more spacious of the two Bluebird locations. Food here is very good but also occasionally overpriced. Your best cost/value order is to get a soup and ask for a biscuit with it (they might be out of biscuits). Day old pastries are also half off and still quite delicious. Sides are wonderful, but keep in mind that they are served cold. Coffee is decent, one of the better options in the downtown area as of the writing of this review.
No my usual place to stay when business traveling but thought Id give it a try. Stayed outside of the main building in an apartment type setting, rather enjoyed the layout with The full kitchen and fridge until I turned on the heater and found that the central air, furnace and water heater were in the room..... That was rather noisy and had it not been 10 degrees outside would have shut it off for quiet sleep. Love the breakfast and night beverages, both are what saved this review
Bluebird catered our office lunch today and it was delicious! Best veggie sandwich Ive ever had. Very creative and unique flavors. I would definitely try again!
Came in just after opening and it was empty though perhaps during the day, its quite busy due to being on the ground floor of an office building. Not signed very well but I found it. Had the biscuit and gravy and it was good
I loved the savory oatmeal and my son really liked his tasty and filling egg sandwich with a nicely cooked egg, crunchy bacon and housemade wheat toast. My espresso was also well made. Four stars because prices are great compared to other metro areas but seem high for Pittsburgh.
A fine workday breakfast but nothing spectacular. Reasonable price and speed but everything is served in disposables despite the fact that they had a large dining area. I had an egg in brioche, bacon and coffee. Brioche was oily, bacon slightly underdone and egg cooked perfectly.
This place, out of the breakfast joints downtown, deserves five stars just on the merit of their food! The service is amazing, the coffee is great, and it kept me coming back for more. The variety from day to day makes you want to buy everything so you dont miss out!
Customer service was extremely poor. I specifically asked if the potato soup contained meat and I was confidently told no by the cashier. I started eating within the restaurant and came across what seemed like chicken, so I asked the cashier if she could identify what was in my soup since there was no meat included in the ingredients. She then said that she didnt know, but that she was sure the chef said there was no meat in the soup. I walked away, but wasnt satisfied with this answer, so I went up again and asked if she could ask someone else what it was that was in my soup I was eating. The cashier then turned to another employee and said here you deal with this, I dont know and put her hands in the air. The second employee looked at my spoon and said that she didnt know what it was and repeated that it wasnt meat. -__- She then calls the chef to see what was in my soup. The chef observes and says that it looks like chicken and that someone mustve used the wrong ladle - cause there to be chicken in the potato soup....Someone who I assumed to be the manager apologized and gave me a refund. The two women were rude, uninformed, and unapologetic. I didnt appreciate their attitude towards me for asking about the ingredients in the food they were serving. This was my first time trying bluebird kitchen and I wont be back.
We were driving through on a road trip to NYC. This place had good reviews and it looks cute in the pictures, but we were not fans of this place at all. Savory oats aren’t good at all, no flavor and have a ton of onions (when it doesn’t say). Biscuits and gravy aren’t spicy as they say. A little disappointed and I rarely post negative reviews.
Amazing assortment of heathly soups, salads, sandwiches and pastries! I love there are so many gluten free options as well. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful.
By far the best breakfast experience downtown. Made quickly, everything we had was delicious. Inexpensive and with a variety of options there is something for each individuals breakfast preference.
Okay food for the price. Youre going to spend at least 12 bucks here for a sandwich and side. I would rate higher if the price was lower or the food was more amazing. But the business is in the business district so it gets a lot of hunger white collar workers who dobt necessarily care about affordability.
Service here always more snobby than the food warrants. Ive ask for one thing and it was obvious that the person behind the counter didnt care because they just served what they wanted anyway. I wont be wandering in there again any time soon. Food is tasty but service is key for me.
Picked up the Tuna Nicoise salad today -- which Ive had many times as its my favorite. Very disappointed. It was greens, a small amount of tuna, 4 olives, half an egg and a tiny slice of tomato. Missing were the avocado, dried tomato and haricot vert. I had it a few weeks ago and the avocado was missing -- thought it was just a fluke. Its one thing to be missing one ingredient -- but three! The honey mustard dressing was not the same either -- too much vinegar -- no mustard taste at all. Not at all what I expected.
Seems like this place is going downhill. I went the other day and ordered a sandwich. In the past, theyd call the order into the kitchen and my sandwich was made to order. Now they just hand you an already-prepared, pre-wrapped sandwich. For $10. Also in the past, the sandwiches were overflowing with ingredients. This time, I felt like I was just eating plain lunch meat on plain bread, like my mom used to pack in my grade school lunch. Heck, Jimmy Johns makes a tastier sandwich for 40% less. I always held Bluebird to a higher standard, but that standard is slipping. I hope Im wrong about the downhill-ness I perceived, and that I just experienced an off day. Ill give them another shot, but probably not for a little while.
Tasty food, decent variety, vegetarian and gf options. Very pricey. Try the pumpkin curry soup!
Very cute little shop. Tasty breakfast items and the staff were very helpful.
Clean, bright, art-filled and a delightfully incentive breakfast menu. Lunch looks pretty tasty too.
Food is good but $10 for sandwich, with no side and 15 minutes to make with noone in front of me.....no thanks
Ate a great lunch at Bluebird today. The special of codd fish was tasty, with a zippy sauce. The sides of broccoli rabe and quinoa/couscous salad were both fresh and well seasoned. I was a tad disappointed in the portion size of the fish, but overall the meal was filling. Ill certainly be back to try a sandwich or sweet!
Delicious breakfast this morning!
The pork sandwich is really good
I love everything about bluebird.
Awesome all the way around
Aaa mazing!
Ok food and way overpriced!
