As much as I enjoy the coffee here, the environment is a bit hostile considering that you get jumped on every time you walk in the door without a mask. I do respect them when asked to put a mask on, but as soon as I pull it down to take a sip of my coffee, I am immediately reprimanded to quote on quote, wear your mask over your nose. This is quite ironic considering the baristas are behind a layer of plexiglass, with two layered masks on and I am 6 feet or more away from other customers. My experience has been like this the past couple times of walking into this coffee shop, while mask mandates have been changed in Pennsylvania to having the option to wear a mask if you are vaccinated. I always said to myself I would never post a review but this last time while in there, I was not pleased. If you have more of a conservative standpoint and have opposing views then what they portray, I would suggest not visiting ADDA coffee shop.
New options for books, chocolate, even face masks! Theyre beautifully curated and not only is there great coffee but its a perfect stop if youre searching for a gift. Coffee is great, especially if youre a fan of medium or darker roasts. Pittsburgh Juice Co. is sold inside. There are fresh baked pastries and sandwiches courtesy Madeleine Bakery & Bistro which are a must (Sometimes vegan options available as well)!
LOVED this entire experience! We have been to Adda before for their regular coffee shop services but today we went for the first time to check out their high tea. Not only did the food and tea all taste amazing, the service was exceptional! Chase was such an attentive server who made sure to check on us every few minutes. He also did a great job recommending various teas and bringing me sugar and honey! I especially loved the chocolate mousse and was pleasantly surprised by the blue cheese stuffed dates. Chase also let us go home with extra pastries and tea! What a wonderful date that we will surely do again.
Nice spot with a great cup of coffee. Happy to have come back here years later to the same great atmosphere!
Outstanding espresso. Very bright and sweet.
Great coffee but unappealing attitude from the company. There are signs everywhere (STILL) yelling at customers to wear a mask and not even take a sip inside. Theyve got to be the last cafΓ© in Pittsburgh to open indoor dining. Enough with the political activist signs everywhere too. Im not going back unless things change. I hope they will.
Good coffee and bean selection but Im not coming back until they drop the mask requirement for vaccinated people.
Awesome awesome little shop!Unique and good vibes all over. Staff was incredibly friendly and offered helpful recommendations to better our drinks.Had the Pea Blossom Matcha Latte which was out of this world. My lady had their Chai Tea which she loved.Ill definitely be visiting this place again. Would go out of my way to visit.
Cant find this place, spend a lot of time. Nobody help me when I called
Their chai is amazing. And I love the online ordering for pick up during covid. Helps me keep my distance while still getting a treat during me time
Lovely folk working, mediocre coffee, pretty good cookies but Five Points are much better. Parking is rough but there is outdoor seating.
Dont take cash, and make you try and bend over backwards to order a $7 latte online, useless joint
The place is cozy and has a decent food. The place has a good amount of nice seating from small tables in the front of the store and out front. To cushioned benches with tables in the back. The service has always been nice and prompt. Ive heard good things about the coffee, certainly beats out other coffee places in the area. The snacks are pretty tasty, I had a blueberry muffin which was tasty.
I love coming here before work for a tea latte with oat milk; this is the only coffee shop Ive been to in Pittsburgh that not only offers multiple milk alternatives but also doesnt charge extra for them. Lots of great healthy snack options as well! Very glad this spot is so close to me!
Adda Coffee & Tea House is a nice spot to go and unwind. The staff were friendly, helpful in suggesting a latte I might like and made me feel welcome. I went using my Pittsburgh Coffee Passport but would not pass an opportunity to go back if I was in the area or looking for something to do.
Itβs apparent the staff at Adda Coffee and Tea house enjoy their jobs and the products they carry. The two gentlemen that helped were both honest and knowledgable about the items on the menu. I have only had tea there thus far, however the care the take in making sure it is correctly steeped and served with a pleasant presentation is obvious. If you havenβt been here already, youβre missing out.
This is my favorite cafe in Pittsburgh. The coffee is great. The Tumeric Ginger Latte is exceptional. The pastries, supplied by Madeline balert, are delicious. The baristas are friendly and non-pretentious. The space is inviting and fresh, well designed. On and on, it is such a great place. I highly recommend.
Delicious coffee and great outdoor seating for the pandemic.
Wonderful vibe and delicious tea π
Very cute coffee shop! They had a nice selection of hot tea that they serve loose leaf in the pot. Nice place to do some work
Very helpful staff! Great chocolate and coffee. A nice quiet place to read.
Amazing place to cozy up and study or meet up with a friend. Very reasonable prices ($2.09 for a coffee w/ tax). They offer many vegan options for both baked goods and drinks. The employees are wacky-fun and the owner clearly has a well thought out business. Only thing is in a college area having later business hours would be a nice bonus. Overall an awesome little coffee shop. Would recommend to anyone!Clotted cream for their scones is one of my favorites!
The Shadyside Sunrise was a weird delight but yall got people too close together on your outdoor seating and none of them were wearing masks like whats up with that yall
Im gonna give them an extra star for the quality of the drink (which I havent tasted yet), but the low rating is because Im standing here in line alone for a few minutes while one barista works hard and the other....talks to her friend. Then she looks at me and says to the friend guess Ill go take care of her. Wow. Service to the max! Way to show your customer that they matter. Even if this is the best latte Ive ever had I wont be back.
Without exaggeration, this is one of my most favorite cafes Ive been to. They had vegan options which were to die for. Their donuts were amazing, their food was exceptional, especially their Tuscan soup. And of course the coffee is phenomenal. You guys got to go there
The staff was very patient and friendly. Atmosphere is cozy and looks insanely cute. Nice selection of food and coffees and teas.
As a visitor to the city, this was a good find. The staff were super friendly and the drinks were great. A Shadyside Sunrise (espresso over pineapple juice) was unusual but delicious. Definitely worth the visit.
A nice coffee and tea shop located in East Liberty. The store is brightly lit with natural light and has a comforting minimalist decor. I had one of the oolong teas and it was delicious. The staff seem very friendly and welcoming. Id recommend it to anyone who wants to have a quick cafe stop or have somewhere to sit and read for a time.
Very cool coffee house. The staff is kind and very helpful. It has a really relaxed atmosphere and is a fun place to hang out.
Staff is always friendly. Drinks are great, syrups made in house, fantastic cold brew, good tea selection. The space is bright and open.
Definitely your choice if you are tired of Starbucks and Dunkin. Their espresso is very good and they serve it with water and a small chocolate. The place is relaxing and ideal if you want to work there. It is pretty spacious inside and it has 2 small tables on the sidewalk. Really really pretty.
Adda has super cute vibes and their drinks & scones are yummy. Its pretty hard to find a table here, though. Its also not that big so it tends to get very loud (at least in the front room).
Were here for a chocolate making class which is pretty neat. Like any coffee house, expect a bit of a price tag on the drinks but theyre very good. Thankfully, their drip coffee is reasonably priced for someone like me who doesnt want Grown-up chocolate milk, which is actually a drink name. The cold brew coffee process is interesting and also on display as you add cream and sugar.
Awesome location and staff. Try the matcha latte with oat milk - the BEST!Alt milks come at no extra cost.
Great environmentally friendly cafe! I see yβall! Yall r cozy great ambience and I support it. :)
Top notch coffee found in this Pittsburgh staple. Engaging and passionate baristas that uphold the highest standard of service! Highly recommend grabbing whatever they currently have on pour over, it wont disappoint.
Great little coffee house on Western ave in the north side of Pittsburgh. Brewing Verve coffee out of Santa Cruz CA. Delicious assortment of pastries, interesting coffee cocktails, and friendly baristas. Local art on the walls and ceramics for sale. Indoor and outdoor seating.
Another one of Pittsburghs great coffee spots! Rotating bean selection for any coffee lover. Try the pour over!
Serving Verve coffee and Rishi tea, this is easily one of the top cafes in the city. If youre into coffee this is a must visit place. The interior is perfectly executed, and the attention to detail down to the glassware is impeccable. The cold brew is fantastic, and the ginger turmeric latte is something unique to try.Its also a great spot to meet with clients, as you can reserve a table in the back via their website.
Love this place- atmosphere is great!
Love this place. Excellent service
Its so quiet. I felt bad for having a good laugh. The tea was good. The barista was kind and quick. A great place to read, relax, or work
Adda is a nice and very homey feeling coffee shop. The chemex is quite nice, and they serve Verve coffee beans (which isnt so common in Pittsburgh). The bagels are also good, as was the homemade almond butter.Given the large space, this is a nice place for working as well as for a quick cup of coffee.
Cute place for tea and coffee. Not a ton of seating and somewhat crowded with studying college students but worth a try. The chai latte is very good, not overly sweet and a nice level of spice.
Great coffee and nice people! The service is awesome. Nice atmosphere.
We got the pumpkin scone and a lemon poppy muffin. The muffin was moist as far as lemon poppy muffins go and the scone was also really good. Would defo suggest a pastry. We got an Americano and a drip with oat milk. The oatmilk came on the side in the tinniest, cutest creamer dish. Comfortable seating, ample sunlight, optimistic atmosphere.
Very friendly staff, lots of light, and the cold black tea I got -- summer lemon -- is excellent. Slightly lemony, but primarily a good black tea. Nice place for Shadysiders to stop en route to or returning from a walking trip to Whole Foods. I didnt think the area needed another coffee shop, but this is a worthy addition.
Good coffee. Too pretentious for my taste. Wont let you take your pour over to go, and wont be nice about it either. If you are looking for a place to sit down and hang around for a while, this is a fine choice.
Expensive but goodwould give 4.5 if possible
Absolutely the best kolaches you can eat! It is by far a favorite place to go to very eespecially at very early in the morning. The staff is super friendly and they make you feel welcomed! Enjoy the deliciousness
Good coffee. Donβt let you take pour overs to go which makes no sense, but the coffee is good so I guess thatβs what matters
Exceptional place and staff. AND IT HAS NO UPCHARGE FOR NON DAIRY MILK. Look no further, this is primeeeeeeee as far as coffee goes.
Specialty coffee is booming in Pittsburgh, and Adda is one of the better examples of what specialty coffee can be.The issue with coffee shops comes down to consistency. There are a number of shops in Pittsburgh where one can get great coffee, but less where one can expect to walk in at anytime of the day and expect a good shot or pour-over (other shops that come to mind in this category: Arriviste, Artisan, Constellation). There are also a number of shops where one can find consistency in one category (espresso) but not another (pour-overs). In this category, 21st Street comes to mind.Ive visted Adda about 8-10 times. Both espresso and pour-overs have always been on point, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Plus they serve Verve, which is delicious. Id highly recommend giving these guys a visit.
My favorite coffee shop in Pittsburgh. Itβs a good place to work and meet friends and talk. Gets a bit busy on the weekends.
I appreciate the great service and coffee but wish there were some lounging chairs similar to their north side location
The service here is better than most. I see why this place has so many good reviews.
Awesome vibes, awesome hot drinks, including matcha & fruit treas, which are both very good. Definitely a must stop coffee shop if in East liberty/shady side.
Best coffee shop in town. Great staff, great coffee, great atmosphere, lots of natural light. Very relaxed and very friendly. Enjoy the ricotta toast.
I liked it! Spacious, well lit, communal seating and urban simplicity at its finest. The drinks were good and fair priced, will definitely be visiting again.
Amazing espresso, tea, and highly informed service. Some of the best espresso in Pittsburgh and the atmosphere is unique and welcoming!
The cold brew was good. Curious if others have tried the espresso pineapple juice drink.
Got here on a Sunday around noon to get some work done with a friend. Had to wait a bit (about 10 minutes) for two spots to open up. Its a cute coffeeshop with a light blue theme going on.
Really nice and cozy. Amazing teas and kachoris. They once had live music, probably was some bloke practicing but you get the vibe.
Great beverages and snacks. Comfortable cafe where you can work all day. Bagels from relish bakery are killer
The high tea service is especially delightful and a very unique selection of free of and tea that changes so you can return multiple times.
Really liked this spot and drinks. Got masala chai latte. Also curious about the ginger turmeric latte
Tea was delicious, service was friendly, atmosphere was very pleasant. Will definitely go back soon.
Really good tea! Definitely going to keep coming back
Cute, quarky little cafe almost out of place in slow to change Millvale. I enjoyed my chai, but I do admit the price was a tad high for what I got, because it looked like premade liquid chai mix and just some almond milk from Trader Joes. Still nice though.
Love coming here to study. Their mocha is amazing (they use chocolate milk from a local dairy farm)
Great matcha latte and cozy little coffeeshop.
Good coffee. Pleasant ambiance. Nice decor.
Both the coffee and staff were great! The barista was friendly and knew there offerings very well.
Good atmosphere, great single origin coffee from Verve in LA. Good pour over coffee.
Went here before with a couple of friends. the energy there is very interesting and I love the choices there.
DELICIOUS AND GREAT SPOT OUTSIDE FOR PEOPLE WATCHING !
Nice little coffee shop. WiFi password as of 3/17/19 is drinkmorecoffee but its extremely slow. Not too many tables, but a row of seats on the side and front, plenty of outlets
High tea at Adda was a great experience! However, in my previous visits for coffee it was always too busy with very limited seating.
Favorite go-to coffee shop. They have matcha lattes, tea, and quality coffee (and espresso shots π). Ive even enjoyed hot apple cider there. Alternative milks are not extra, and they have oat milk β₯οΈ Great food selection and vegan friendly. Cozy spot to work or chill. Baristas are all delightful. They also are a great business in the neighborhood often collaborating with popups like empanadas.UPDATE: THEIR HIGH TEA (afternoon tea techincally) IS BOMB AF. Service, ambience, food, and tea is amaze beans. Just make a reservation online and it happens every 2 and 4th weekends. High recommend.
This was my first visit. The staff was friendly and seemed knowledgeable. My friend and I ordered the cold brew coffee which only came in one size. Compared to other coffee shops in the area it was tiny. Im no cold brew expert, but the coffee tasted a little weak (more like an iced tea). I was disappointed in the cold brew but Id like to give this place another shot. I hope they can change the size of this drink to make it at least twice the size.
The service is awesome. Nice atmosphere.
BEST #1 COFFEE / ESPRESSO / AMERICANO SHOP IN PITTSBURGH ON THE EASTSIDE... TRY IT, YOULL LOVE IT
Wont let you take their espresso drinks to go. Not because they dont have the capability, but because presentation is part of the experience. Espresso should be enjoyed without unnecessary pomp and pretentiousness.
Hipster hangout. Slow brewed coffee, friendly staff and local fare. Worth a visit if you are in the area.
Fantastic cold brew, good vibes and a great work space!
I have always found the staff friendly and the vegan cream cheese bagels tasty despite being vegan cheese.
Great coffee and tea, friendly staff, fast WiFi and a comfortable environment. I come often for both work and relaxation, either way its great. Easily the best coffee in Shadyside
Interesting decoration and convenient location. They did, however, have the absolute best matcha latte I have ever had. True matcha flavor without being highly sweetened like the big chains.
Quality espresso, healthy breakfast options and traditional items like croissants. A
