I was in town for business and had a flat tire. Peter Lockhart patched and remounted my tire in short order! The big chain stores I called couldnt do it same day. And, he only charged $35! Please give Lockhart Tire your business! Nice guy and very friendly staff!

Bring a van to put rear lamp charge for the lamp the labor and the lamp still have the old lamp nobody change the lamp really disappointed after drive 2 hour and 1/2 get there

This is my second visit to Lockhart and I was again impressed. This shop has earned a long term customer. I needed new brakes and rotors replaced same day for an urgent trip. These guys came through with a quick repair at a price that was less than what I was expecting. I started when I needed a second opinion on brakes back when I lived a few miles away - Ive since moved to the North Hills but I still bring my cars here for inspections and any other work. (Ive brought my cars in for rattles / squeaks / etc. and if there isnt anything wrong - they will let you know.) Ive found Pete to be the most honest, transparent mechanic Ive done business with and struggle to take my cars anywhere else.

I had my BMW towed today this location on September 3 Due to my back tire blowing out on the way back from South Carolina in Washington PA I had to pay $200 to get my car towed to the closest Destiination which was my mothers home on the north side of Pittsburgh after doing some research on tire shops around her location to see where I can get my tire fixed the closest location was Lockhart tire that was located about 10 minutes away from my mother I was able to find a flatbed truck that was willing to tow my car for $100 after getting the car to the shop I went online to see what tires a head then someone contacted my husband to tell us that they had two tires tires down For my car they were $133 each plus additional charges for the spin and balance I guess end up paying about $346 for everything after paying this price the next day I woke up went to go drive my car it said that the right back tire was low and then contact at the shop on Saturday explaining to him what was happening with the tire he told me to just put air in it after putting air in it continuously Saturday and Sunday my husband got up and we drove down to Lockhart tire‘s we spoke to a man which said he will pull the tire off and see what exactly the problem was took about an hour when we get back to the location he said that my rim was cracked and he put a seal on it to stop the leak after we get back in the car I contacted the establishment and I speak to a manager leaving a message to let him know how dissatisfied I am because now I have to buy a brand new tire and also a new room I don’t understand why they would put a brand new tire on my car if they knew the room was cracked he told my husband that I must’ve been driving pretty far on the rim for it to be damage like that I told him that I can’t see how he didn’t see the crack on the day of any inspection when the car was towed to him and he took the tire off he told us that he did a visual inspection to see why the tire blew so I’m not understanding why he didn’t see this tear in this rim of the back right tire which is now going to cost me double the money that I already put in To getting two new tires now I feel like I was just scammed because he seen the shape and the condition of my tire before he put the new tire on and I did not write on a flat tire a tire exploded literally making a loud popping noise we pulled over immediately we just came from putting air in the tire we have no money to continuously buy new tires understandable things happen but the fact that they put a new tire on it already cracked room I really don’t appreciate it at all because now like I said I feel like I was scam just to pay this amount of money now I have to buy a new tire again

Within 15 minutes I was out the door with a reasonably priced used tire installed on my rim. I thought I was going to have to come back later for it, but they had me back on the road quickly. I highly recommend this shop. They have excellent customer service and are friendly.

I moved across the city recently and needed a new place to take my car for basic things. Their website has a form you can use to request an appointment, which was really nice, and someone quickly sent an email reply to confirm. They were able to schedule me for the day I requested, and the service was great. Nice people, fair prices. My old shop didnt do tire mounting, so it was nice being able to get my car inspected, have his oil and brake pads changed, and have my winter tires switched out for all seasons on my existing wheels, all in one place.

Ive used Lockhart Tires for all my repairs. These guys are the best. Incredibly trustworthy. Its a family business thats been around for many years - they absolutely know their stuff! Most importantly, unlike other auto shops Ive visited, they will not add unnecessary repairs. Theyre way too honest and credible. Strongly recommend!

Had vibration in my steering so brought my car in here. They said they balanced all 4 tires, but it did not fix the issue. Saw another mechanic and he said all 4 tires were not balanced. So not sure if Lockhart charged me and lied about doing the work, or they balanced my tires incorrectly.

I went in to get two new front tires due to bad edge wear after not rotating. I had called ahead and ordered specific tires. After getting the tires and going home, I noticed a different brand had been put on than what Id ordered, and I had been charged accordingly. I called the next day and the shop expressed they still had the tires Id ordered and they were surprised I hadnt come in for them. I had!!! I then had to come in a week later to get the right tires. I was charged the difference in price (which the tires here are at least $30 more expensive each than buying at Wal-Mart. I suggest buying them and putting them on yourself, and getting them balanced somewhere for $15, much cheaper). Though the service is quick and good if you come at 8am Wednesdays, it was quite annoying something like this happened in the first place. Double check your tires and receipt before you leave. No discounts or anything else offered for the trouble of coming back, so just be aware. One good thing about this place was I had also asked for an alignment, thinking that was causing the noise my tires were making. They asked why I was asking for an alignment, determined I didnt need one, and let me know what the sound really was. This saved me money, unlike a place Id gone prior that just planned to perform the work I asked for, no questions asked.

Had a flat tire on Allegheny General Hospital parking garage. Triple A came and filled tire with air because my spare was flat. I followed Triple A driver to Lockart Tire. They fixed me up fast and good price. Great service. Good people. A Super Thank You to Lockhart tire!

Great place. Totally saved me when I was in Pittsburgh from out of town and cut my tire near the Science Center. I managed to get to Lockhart before it went flat, and they got me back on the road quickly even though they were clearly very busy.

Sadly, I would need to rate my experience with them as a 2 out of 5. I went to Lockhart to get my car inspected. I made an appointment. Since they are open until 4, I had to drop my car off after hours. When I get there, there is no envelope provided to keep all of the documents together. I had to drop my key into the Keydrop slot and then drop a separate piece of paper with my contact information on it. The next day, I didnt hear from them until I called them around 3:00 in the afternoon. Pete advised that my emissions light was still on and that a potential purge valve filter would be needed. I was advised to drive my car for another 40-50 miles to see if the check engine light would come back on. It did and I had to take my car back to their shop another time after hours. I had to call them AGAIN to determine what the problem was. They ordered the Purge Valve Filter and kept my car for 2 days. Once I got the Purge Valve Filter installed I had to drive my car again for another 40-50 miles to make sure that was the problem. The light never came back on so I had to go BACK to their shop a third time to have my official sticker placed. I made an appointment to drop my car off again after hours on Tuesday. I did not receive a call on Wednesday as expected. When I called again at 4:30 the office was closed. I left a very frustrated voice message as I was out of my car AGAIN for another day and I was not expecting to have to go down to one car. I received a call back noting my car was done. I finally got my sticker about a month after the initial appointment.The price that I paid was very fair but this experience ruined any further business that I would have with this company. Maybe Im old school but I need a little bit of customer service and communication to keep me in the loop so I can adequately prepare for things.

Not only did I get a flat in downtown Pittsburgh but I was worried I would miss an important meeting in WV because of it. I couldnt imagine I could even find a place to get my tire fixed downtown much less get it fixed in under a half a day if not a whole day. Boy, was I wrong. Found Lockhart tire and made it there right as my wheel hit the rim. They had my tire plugged and me back on the road within 20 minutes and for only $25. All this during a time where they were obviously very busy. AMAZING service and attitude. THANK YOU Lockhart tire!

I have used them many times where do you find guys like this. They took my car and actually saved me 450.00 dollars by rerouting leaking power steering line to help save me money. Just goes to show there are good guys out there yet very honest and knowlegedable highly recommend them .

Great and ethical people. They do smog and safety inspections here for the state and theres a lot of opportunities for mechanics who do that to be unethical and tell people things are wrong with the car and extort them into fixing the made up stuff just so that you can get your car inspected and passed but the people here have morales and they wont do that to you. I brought my car in and the only thing they found was a license plate light bulb was burned out. I could not be happier with the service here. The owner was a straight shooter and hes been at this location since photos were in black and white! Their reputation is the reason theyve been in business for so long. You treat people decent and they keep coming back; its as simple as that. They even stayed open a few minutes late since I was stuck in traffic trying to get there to pick up my car. Its hard to find good people like these folks and I can honestly say I will always go here anytime theres something wrong with my car.

My experience was much like the other reviewers. I had just moved to the area and went here as a friend of a friend suggested it to get my truck inspected. Long story short: big mistake.I took my older pick-up truck there, knowing that it needed some TLC to pass inspection, and I was fine with that. Unfortunately, after discussing a plan of repairs with the mechanic, I called back later to find out that he had done some repairs that he had initially told me we could hold off on because they were non-essential. I was, of course, left to foot the bill for what he referred to as a favor.I simply tried to voice on the phone that I was upset that he had done additional services without my consent. He immediately became loud, defensive, and blamed me repeatedly for making things complicated. He yelled several times that he would just rip out the new stuff, and put the old stuff back in. He ended pretty much every sentence at this point with Is that what you want? HUH? Cuz Ill do it!Sadly, I found myself engaged in arguing (and getting nowhere) with someone who had zero interest in customer service. After continually being cut off, I actually had to yell over him Can I PLEASE just FINISH my sentence? To which I was given a very disgruntled No as a response.I couldnt get my vehicle out of there fast enough. It didnt pass inspection. I will be taking it somewhere else.
