I have used them for years since when they represented Fender. That was probably an older ownership, but the guys have always been good. I know no other place in Phoenix that can be this reliable. I am taking my Guild X-700 Jazz box in there today for some adjustments. They are great overall.

Quality guitar work. Had a fret level, crown, and polish done on a Gretsch and it was completed ahead of schedule and the price was very competitive to other local shops.

Have had several great experiences in the past two years with James and Collin (sp?). Prefer them to the previous owner even though I liked him too. Really nice guys who know the industry, guitars, and do good work. Have always been extremely satisfied with their work when I have adequately communicated my desires. They stand behind their work. James is also a gifted player, and you can check him out at Copper Star Coffee in Phoenix on 7th Avenue on Sundays from noon to 2pm with his band True Flavor Blues.

They did a great job fixing the protruding inlays on my les paul. Smooth as butter now. They also solved a feedback issue it was having by recommending, and installing, rubber tubes for the pickup mounts instead of the factory springs. Now I can crank it a few more notches. All of this was done a few days earlier than expected.

Fixed 2 of my friends guitars (one was a fretlight) for an amazing price, and I bought some gear--also at the best price i found in town. The salesman was very informative, and since I dont much about guitars, he saved me money as well and taught me a few things about gear! AWESOME!

Very unsatisfied with the service, expected much more from them....at least a phone call when my instrument is ready. Here is my advise to all those Music enthusiasts who want to go out and purchase a nice Guitar. Do your Homework first ......I do feel the need to talk about Gibson who has one of the best reputations on the market. And this is what I would like to let the readers know about: Gibson offers lifetime warranties and they dont do a damn thing when you ship your equipment back to them. As a matter of fact I sent my guitar into Gibson early December with no update from Gibson repair the entire time it was in repair. Then when I call inquiring to a rep about the status of my guitar; this company does not have it on record as received. Long story short; fast forward three months and my guitar is sitting outside on my stoop, Ups drop off, without any call or email and total time away from me was exactly 4 months, total cost to ship to Gibson Repair $100.00, and here is the best part: are you sitting down? A note was attached stating the guitar was working fine and they changed the strings for me. By the way this guitar Was sent into two different techs/ Authorized Gibson Techs before I even made the decision to ship the guitar. And both techs confirmed the guitar was not fixable, nothing they could do to fix it. The intonation problem was due to defect and I could fix it if I wanted to put a new Neck on it.???? What ? Ridiculous right? Well that feels much better now, Im liberated.....just wanted to share! Only about 10,000 people over the past Month who sent their guitars into Gibson repair shops would understand why I posted this. I hope I can change just one persons life when they read this. And in closing Gibson is now located in not only the USA but also have manufacturing companies in China, Korea, Indonesia and some guys basement apparently expanding around Kuwait and S.America and Mexico.

Love this place. I wouldnt go to any other shop to get work done on any of my stringed friends. I had a Univox Hi flier, that I took to many different guitar shops in the area including the corporate biggie and none of them new what kind of guitar I had, nor did they want to do work on it. I brought the guitar in and Jim knew exactly what I had and he started gathering parts in the few moments I was there. Precision Guitar had it ready in a couple days and all they did was... install a tunematic bridge, rewire the electronics, install new pick-ups, built and installed a ivory nut, put in new string trees and set it up to play super awesome... I dont go anywhere else to get work done. They are a hidden ruby....

I brought my Epiphone Les Paul in so I could replace the stock pickups, and to have the guitar set up and adjusted. I found the shop owner’s customer service very unwelcoming, awkward, and even a bit tense. Beyond what I was asking, there was very little dialogue as his answers were curt and cold. There was no effort to try and help the customer as I attempted to navigate the different pickup specifications and to get what I thought might be a professional opinion. At any rate, I decided on some pickups and was told it would take a few days to install.Despite providing my contact info, I never received a phone call or an email telling me my guitar was ready. After calling and no one answering the telephone during business hours, I went to Precision Guitar but ended up waiting outside the shop as it was locked. Again, this was during normal business hours. When the shop owner showed up, tardy, he told me that my guitar wasn’t ready yet. This was nearly two weeks later though I was told it would be a few days. Frustrated and taken aback, I incredulously replied, “Really? It’s been two weeks. You said it would be a few days.” He then went to work on my guitar while I waited. Moving past this awkwardness, when I tried out my guitar, it had several string buzzes on multiple strings and frets. It was obvious that he hadn’t even tested it out as even a beginner would have noticed immediately. Moreover, he didn’t give me the new pickup cases, info, warranty, etc.I highly regret that I gave Precision Guitar my business--a rather substantial sum of money--for subpar quality, unwelcoming and unfriendly service, long delays, tardiness, etc. Collectively, I found the whole experience entirely unfriendly, unwelcoming, and unprofessional. The shop owner never acknowledged poor work or offered an apology. Perhaps most upsetting was that after a $350 bill and multiple inconveniences, I did not receive an apology nor a “thank you.” I found this lack of professional courtesy to be the proverbial “icing on the cake” for my negative experience at Precision Guitar. In today’s economy, one might assume that a small, independent business would want and need to retain customers, but I didn’t see this sort of intentionality. Needless to say, I will not be patronizing this business ever again. Buyer beware.

I have been getting my guitars repaired here for 20+ years and would trust no one else to work on my guitars. They have performed all sorts of work on my guitars: repairing body cracks on my Guild JF-4, installing an LR Baggs pickup in the same Guild JF-4, refretting and adjusting various acoustic guitars, setting up and adjusting electric guitars and basses. They have breathed life into several guitars I thought were gone for good. Im talking some really bizarre problems which required some very creative solutions. Every repair they have made has worked very well. Jim and Collin are very professional and are also very cool guys. I cant thank them enough.
