Ive brought two instruments here for setups, and they were both done excellently. The technician went above and beyond just setting the intonation, action, and neck relief, and took the opportunity to polish up the frets and the instrument as well. The price for the service is also very reasonable. J&M will be my first stop for any guitar work going forward.

I poked my head into J&Ms front door for the first x, seen the guy behind the counter was very focused on task at hand (Gibson Studio).I had no impending need at the x, yet he took the time to address my intreast. Point blank he gave of his time. Just like back in the old days when customer service came first. Im going back for some N3 pickup hold down/adjustment screws.

I would trust Mike Patruno to deliver my firstborn child.Ive gone to J&M Guitar with a couple of projects. The first was a cheap Squier Telecaster that I wanted to hot rod with a Fender neck and fancy pickups. It was a complicated project, requiring cutting the nut, fret adjustments, tuner installation, and soldering. In two weeks, Mike gave me back my new favorite guitar. The setup was hands down the best setup Ive ever had. The guitar is fast, buttery. It is a joy to play.The second project was a precision bass with internal wiring that I personally butchered with a soldering iron. I somehow managed to complete a circuit, although I also somehow bypassed most of the instruments pots and circuitry. In a week Mike had my bass back to me with completely new wiring, and it sounds great.J&M is a thirty minute drive for me, but its worth it. Mike Patruno is the best in the Phoenix metropolitan area.

I am so thankful I found this shop. Mike saved my guitar. It originally sounded great when I got it but then had some major buzzing and strings playing the same tone over multiple frets.He set it up for me and then did much more work straightening out the neck, filing the frets down and even rebuilt my saddle, all for a VERY fair price. You get what you pay for they say, but here I got a lot more! Everything else in the store, like picks and straps are also better priced than the big box stores.Thanks Mike, will definitely be back.

Mike is simply the best and a whiz at guitars. Hes done a lot of work for me in the past and his latest work really blew me away. I hate having tone pots so I had him install a set of EMGs and make each pick have its own volume knob. Sounds killer and it eliminated the tone knob just how I wanted! Only place Ill go to for any upgrades or repairs! Support your local businesses!!

This guitar shop is fantastic. The two gentleman in the shop, Mike and Adam, are very great people. Theyre really nice folks and are very helpful whenever you have a question about something, in the shop and through their phone. Also, if you need a local guitar tech, then look no further. Mike can set up your guitar with precision, or have some upgrades installed to your axe without a problem. Adam is a very approachable guitar teacher as well, so you can ask him any question you got without any issues whatsoever. Overall, this shop is an excellent place to bring in someone who has an interest in guitars or is gaining interest in playing guitar.

This is the kind of place you just want to hang out at and soak up a vibe while trying out different guitars and amps. I honestly wish I could have talked with the guys longer, but my twin boys were getting restless. I will DEFINITELY be going back.

The owner Mike is one of the nicest, coolest guys I have had the pleasure to meet. Ive been going to guitar lessons with his business partner Adam for almost 8 years now. And I have never once had a bad experience with these 2 people. They have a nice selection of acoustic and electric guitars as well of accessories and amps. Brought in a guitar my students built, that would not play in tune. In 10 minutes, got the guitar set-up nicely. Very professional, genuinely nice man.
