I don’t recommend this store for moral reasons.A family member of mine struggles with substance abuse disorder. Said person steals and sells my guitar. It’s a custom made 18-inch arch top worth at least $5000 that my luthier friend made. Bizarre Guitar buys it for $200. Owner claims that “he didn’t know it was stolen” despite the fact that he is looking at a custom-made arch top in front of him.Made an offer to purchase the guitar back for full price including any costs related to any work they did. Even offered to add a few hundred bucks as profit. Instead they insist that I call the cops and send my family member to jail. So essentially they are holding the stolen good as hostage in the hopes that I will “give up.” Perhaps they want to make a bit more money. At the end of the day, it’s a guitar. Family member has made great strides. I am not sending this person to jail over a disease they suffer from. But it’s garbage, unethical behavior on part of Bizarre Guitar.
I came in a couple months ago looking for a new... you guessed it, guitar! They had a beautiful Eastman PCH that was comparable to a Breedlove sound but better price, also came with a free case. I love the guitar! The manager was great. He really took his time in showing us different models. I recommend stopping in, great people over at Bizarre Guitar & Drum!
Found a Djembe I wanted to buy really quickly. Lots of guitars and drum kits to check out too. Didnt browse a ton but would have been interested in other auxiliary percussion stuff if I had seen it.
Really nice people that run this shop, more than willing to have you try out any guitar. They set me up with exactly what I needed; matching case, leather strap, etc. It’s a very well run store. You won’t be disappointed.
This shop knowingly purchases stolen merchandise which can be traced back to the original owner and refuses to ‘sell’ it back to the rightful owner for the price it was purchased for. They purchased a custom guitar made by a Michigan-based luthier for $200 and are now trying to sell it for thousands. Disgusting and illegal.
The older guy with long white hair made me extremely uncomfortable and kept on making me feel like me being there was inconvenient to him. I don’t know if he did not like my race or if me being a female in a music store bothered him, but I will never come here again.
Host guys there and they have awesome guitars.
I bought a 380 guitar, first guitar ever bought. Felt a lil dum sited even with help their felt like money mattered more then people if i make sense. Try to exchange a week after wasnt happy with guitar and not happy with purchasing my first guitar and not liking it.Well not coming here again and will learn for future experience.
Came here from out of town and I gotta say. The instrument selection was great and the customer service was beyond exceptional. I will definitely be coming here again when I come back to town. Ended up walking out with a nice martin cutaway. They threw in a free bag just to make sure it makes it home safe with me. Gotta check this place out if youre in the market for a new instrument
Ive always been intimidated by guitar stores because I have no talent or ability. The idea of testing out a guitar in front of people that work with guitars for a living is kinda terrifying. Im really glad I went here because if they made fun of me, they waited until I left. But while I was there, they treated me really well and were fantastic in helping me. Super friendly and a good selection. And actually, I bet they didnt even make fun of me behind my back! Thats how good they are! Why am I so insecure? This is all your fault, dad! No wait, its my fault. Sorry, dad.
Any one who has been guitar shopping in person these days knows the one thing that is missing: inventory. Well one step into Bizarre and it looks perfect, tons of guitars, from the most affordable to the coolest custom shop pieces.I bought a guitar here today, I was shopping around all over town. After lots of disappointing stops-- fret sprout, poor setups and disengaged employees I decided to make the drive to central Phoenix, glad I did. They gave me space, but were somehow still attentive. When I brought up an issue with a guitar, the took care of it right away. They seemed to know what I needed and they made it clear that I could take my time to make the best choice for me!!
Good service, nice people work there, they have a big selection at competitive prices. Definitely worth checking into if youre in the market for second-hand instruments
The staff at Bizarre Guitar & Drum has taken good care of me. I have made three guitar purchases in just a few months and I am grateful to be in driving distance to their Historic location.SiSincerely Joel Montemayor
The staff here are very friendly, knowledgeable and experienced in my eyes. I had a cigar box ukulele from my uncle which needed fixing and they put nice strings on it and tuned it up within an hour.
Bought my second guitar from Greg and staff today. Great experience and highly recommend. Support independent stores! Don’t walk in, look around, leave without talking to someone and complain about price. This is an old school shop and cash is king!
Great guitar (and drum) store. I went there for the first time this week and was immediately impressed with their products, helpfulness, and prices. I wound up buying a nice guitar and have no regrets. Recommended!
I paid bitcoin for a Pignose, this guy helped me out big time up ere, appraised it no problem.
I had a great experience with this store. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They didnt try to upsell me on anything, which I appreciated. They left me alone and came to check-in on how I was liking the guitars. As a first time guitar buyer, this store is great. If I ever need to buy an amp, guitar, or need work done, Im going to come here first.
The selection of instruments is crazy good for the size, and its a very clean and beautifully well maintained shop, I wasnt too fond of the service, it felt like they were worried about me touching their stuff, which is a little bit uncomfortable for me. But their selection of instruments is excellent
A nice store with knowledgeable staff. Whole place was laid out really nicely
Excellent service and friendly staff. They took the time to explain and make sure the guitar we purchased was the right choice. I really enjoyed seeing all the guitars signed by famous musicians from over the years. It brought back great memories.
Great store with knowledgeable staff and friendly conversation. I would highly recommend them for anything you need! The only folks I would trust with a prized guitar and could spend many hours just talking music with the whole crew there! The best at setting up guitars to play their best. Thanks!
Great shop for all kinds of guitars and drums. The dudes were most excellent as Bill and Ted would say.Was cool to see all the autographed guitars on display.Highly recommend you stop by if looking for an instrument.
Love the guys at this shop! They were very knowledgeable, polite, and helpful when aiding my son and in picking new guitars. Im not sure why they have negative reviews but our experience was more than pleasant. Greg and Jerry were both friendly, informative, and took their time when answering our questions. We spent about an hour in the store exploring and asking questions. I love supporting local businesses and highly recommend this establishment to new or experienced musicians seeking an educational and pleasant shopping experience!
Great selection and knowledgeable staff.
Very helpful people here everytime I have stopped in. Needed amp 101 class and they were happy to educate me as well as demonstrate the options. Will be back
Great selection, prices and customer service. If you are looking for quality guitars then come here.
Beautiful guitars and a wonderful staff who is very helpful.
The crew at Bizarre Guitar & Drum are great! I worked with Ryan to purchase my awesome Satin Blue Fender American Performer Strat. Ryan was great to deal with; the rest of the crew were very friendly and nice. I had a great experience!
Music is what keeps alot of people same.
I got my first guitar here when I was 14 years old, and every guitar since for the last 20 years
We went to Bizarre at the recommendation of my sons guitar teacher. Im skeptical by nature, but quickly became comfortable with Brian as he was patient and answered our questions and helped guide us to a good starter electric. We gave him a budget range and not only did he not try to upsell us, he actually undersold us. My son and I are both happy and Bizarre will be my go-to for any future guitar needs or questions.
Ive been shopping here for over 30 years. Always the best prices around.
They just didnt have a lot of gear and was too expensive for used gear
This is a really high quality store with great stuff. Thing is, the staff really knows their stuff. They will help you understand what you are buying and whats really important. The only thing I dont love about the store is that you have to have a sales guy with you and hell pull the stuff off the wall for you. I just want to grab and strum sometimes. But otherwise, theyd be 5-stars.
This is such a cool shop that has loads of guitars and pretty much anything you can ever need. They just recently opened a drum store as well which is crammed!! Perfect place to come to.
Theres always something good to find here.
Greg and Don are awesome. Great selection of rare special guitars. Very nice to work with. Love this place
I love the selection. Probably the best in town. However, the staff treats you like youre a child. From what I hear that comes for the owner. I understand protecting your product, but I feel they can dial it back a notch. I still recommend checking them out. They have very cool stuff.
I wanna thank Brian and his staff members for not working with me on price negotiation with their Gibson J200 standard. That very same day I was able to locally negotiate a price that I was very comfortable with on a2004 Gibson J200 Historic custom shop for$3800.00 out the door. The top is well seasoned & broken in.If I could attach pics to this post I would highly flamed maple book matched back and sidesBrian and staff members Thanx again for not negotiating Price with me I couldn’t be happier
Bizarre Guitar is a landmark and major player for Phoenix musicians, especially of the rock persuasion. When the torch was handed down from Bob to Greg, the impact of this store did not diminish but was handed down from a local legend to an international one. Rock on Bizarre Guitar!
The owner Bob may be gone but this place still takes care of you the same. Its my favorite place to get anything I need. I recommend all musician friends.
Great customer service! These guys are here to help you get back to shredding. If youre looking for a new axe they have the best selection in town! Stop in and check out their selection!
Best guitar shop in the Phoenix area.
Bizarre guitar has been in Phoenix forever. I think its the best used guitar shop in town with a friendly, knowledgeable staff. They have a ton of nice guitars and quite a few decent amps too. Im sure there is more but Im a guitar player, so thats where I focused when there. Its also a good place to sell a guitar if you dont want to sell online.
Cool guys. Easy going spot. Good selection. I picked up a much needed stool for only $49.00. The guys were talking music and cracking jokes. I was excited coming here and happy that I went. Ill be back.
These guys know their stuff. Wanted some different cymbals and this place is worth the drive. Super friendly and helpful. Great pricing with percussion needs! Will keep shopping here for sure.
Just picked up a Fender Acoustic for Rookies - What a great place! Super awesome service and great staff, very knowledgeable. If you are in the mood for drums or guitars I can’t think of anywhere better.
This store is what dreams are made of! So many awesome guitars, amps, drums, everything. Staff is super helpful, friendly, no pressure. If you dont try here first, you are really missing out.
Amazing Store! The inventory of new, used, and vintage guitars, is the best Ive seen. The staff was very friendly and helpful, without being pushy. The instruments are clean and tuned, not dinged up, and covered in finger prints like you find at the big box stores. Great place, I highly recommend them!
These guys recently sold me a nice R9 online. They claimed it was a 2006, but I found out once I received it that it was in fact a 1996, not an 06. I kindly reached out to them to let them know, not expecting or asking for anything (in fact, I was happy about it). I even left them 5-star feedback. In return, they left me 3-star feedback for bringing this to their attention. Not sure why they would do that, but it seems to me like they could use some lessons in etiquette. Maybe they were embarrassed that I caught their mistake? Either way...dont lash out at a customer for addressing an error in the sale (especially when it is over $3,000). Very immature. Edit: after reading a bunch of other negative reviews, it seems that they are pretty well-known for bad customer service. I wouldnt necessarily stay away from their store for this reason...its not the guitars fault, after all!
Buddy just picked up his first acoustic here today. We were properly taken care of. Long live Bizarre Guitar.
If your in the neighborhood pop in and take a look. Great prices and good people. Thanks again Greg!!
This place is awesome! Every time I come in the staff are incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and more than willing to answer my questions about the gear I am buying. They gave me the deal of a lifetime on a 1964 Mosrite that was in impeccable condition and they beat every online price I could find for the same guitar. (They have a super rare double neck mosrite that I wish I could have bought as well) This is where I go for all of my musical needs and I would never even consider anybody else. This place has been a staple in the Phoenix music scene for decades and it’s easy to see why! Thank you to all the good folks at Bizarre Guitar, you guys have all earned the Pappy Molasses seal of approval!
Love this place!! The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful! Theyre also have patience with playing 20 questions.
Knowledgeable staff. Great shop!
Awesome staff, Killer selection of guitars, Basses, amps & effects and a dedicated drum Dept. 10s across the board 🤘🏻
These guys were friendly and knowledgeable. I am very happy with my purchase!
Amazing store, with the absolute best selection of guitars anywhere. The staff is totally cool, they know what theyre doing, and what theyre talking about. Super chill, my favorite guitar shop. Nice selection of drums as well!
They’ll do appraisals, just not over the phone. There’s no book. I also have a leaf blower that I need looked at.
Always a great selection and deal. My first stop (and usually last) when buying a guitar.
Great selection of Gibsons, Fenders and a full room for acoustic guitars. They have walls of guitars. The staff is cool and has always treated me well. One of the best guitar store around here.
Awesome staff ! No sales harassment and guys very available if u need them. Great and clean choice, well sorted by shapes, brand and types. Good prices and shop setup (instruments presentation). A shop u feel good to take your time in. A real plus. ☺
Really cool place. Nice friendly staff. Good prices...lots of beautiful guitars and gear!
Excellent staff! Very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Our first time there was outstanding.
We go here for my teen sons drum needs. These people are exceptionally nice and very knowledgeable. They also have a 30 day layaway plan whichIs nice for holiday gift buying
Good g-fiddles here. Friendly staff. Had what I needed & very fair prices. A must visit for any guitar or percussion player.
The personal service from employees that are players and the knowledge about the products they sell is the best.
Ive been buying all of my drum gear here for years, and couldnt be happier with their service, selection, and pricing! Ive never once walked in to that store, even when theyre slammed, without somebody noticing me and saying hello, Ill be right with you. But what I appreciate most is that the majority of the staff arent just kids working there for a job, yet real experienced musicians that have been able to intelligently answer any technical questions Ive asked. Plus they all have just the coolest attitudes and never made me feel like I was an inconvenience. This is a REAL musicians store. All the others around town should send their new workers here for a proper orientation on how to be the best music store employee. BIZARRE GUITAR! A REAL CLASS ACT! Thanks for all your help and patience guys. I know Im a pain in the A** sometimes. LOL!
Awesome selection, prices and help. Nice that at least one REAL guitar shop still thrives!
Went to check out a rickenbacker 4003, i guess they didn’t like the way i looked because they refused service. bought a new midnight blue one at sam ash. never looking back.
Super friendly and very helpful staff. Great selection of guitars to choose from.
The shop was AMAZING!! I didnt get the name of the sales guy but all of them were super helpful, They bought my guitar for a VERY fair price and I would buy from them in a heartbeat. The prices are perfect IMO. No point in shopping around, go there and buy.
Guitar is beautiful
I buy everything I can from them and they are there when I need a little extra help. You can wheel and deal on some used stuff but the new stuff are in most cases really marked down so its a good deal already. I try to buy from the little guy and if they cant help me I go to the corporate giants.Support the small guy when you can. Just my opinion.
Awesome store and service. Let me say that Im not a musician but I can tell you about customer service. My daughter had a school project that required her to make an instrument. After showing her Jack White make a guitar out of a board, a pickup, and a few nails, she was hooked. We went to the store to see how much a cheap pickup would cost. The store owner came out and handed her two pickups out of a box of parts in case one didnt work. In addition, he talked with both the kids about their bikes and gave them both candy. It was a great experience and nice to have people like this living and operating businesses in the community.
Great deals and a lot of inventory..knowledgeable staff and very nice..
They had the strings ready for pick up. Plus they were fast and efficient in service.
Excellent selection of guitars. Staff/owner offered bad customer service. A gifted guitar with proof of purchase reciept was not honored for the free tune-up deal because it had been gifted during Christmas. Basically, it felt like being accused of stealing after 2 employees couldnt answer my basic questions about the deal and brought the owner over, all with a doubtful and condescending tone. As to my other questions, those were all ignored. The owner then proceeded to try and sell $20 guitar strings for a brand new guitar. This is bad customer service and false advertising. Although the guitar was brand new with proof of purchase from this store, the attitude of the entire establishment was to find any way to not honor the deal. Dont waste your time on this shop.
I was looking to step up to a better guitar. Went to a bunch of little shops and they all said Go to Bizarre, best selection in town. So I went in, was able to play several before buying a Taylor 510 CE. They let me play whatever I wanted, left me alone when I wanted to be, and had answers to all my questions. No hassle, no pressure. One piece of advice-go on a weekday, no crowds. Id bought strings in there on a Saturday and its much busier.
I knew very little about guitars but wanted to learn and buy a good beginners setup, however the salesman didnt seem to interested in teaching me much about guitars and what options I had. He was nice enough but didnt seem to want my business or to spend much time with me. I bought elsewhere. This store is probably better suited for those with much more musical experience.
Great staff! They were very helpful and knowledgeable
Is a nice place
These guys are cool. Theyll help you if you want, but if you just want to look theyll leave you alone and wont hover over you (I hate that). As far as selection they seem to have almost all the major brands covered.
Local business, strong personal knowledge without being know it alls. Try this before the chain and you wont regret it!
Way better than guitar center my new favourite place to go! Amazing people a great collection of guitars basses.
Bizarre Guitar & Drums is awesome. Great selection and service. The Kats who work there are kool and willing to deal a fair price on there products.
The service was Amazing! They were there and answered all question!!
Perhaps you should change your hours on google and Facebook. This way people don’t drive two hours to find your store closed on a Sunday.
Lots of cool new guitars in stock. Very cool shop and helpful employees.
Loved the prices!!! and the guy who helped my friend and I was courteous, understanding and very helpful, I definitely recommend this place. I had no clue on guitar brands and all that but I walked out with a nice guitar and bass at a great deal
Very helpful and friendly staff, super wide selection of guitars and many amps / accessories to choose from
Great customer service. I wasnt completely sure what I wanted and the salesman helped me find one and was a cool nice guy. Great experience at Bizarre guitar.
The best guitar selection I have seen in one place. Prices for all participants. Nice high end stuff; especially hard to get guitars. Quite a variety of drums as well.
Great selection. Only top quality instruments. Very knowledgeable staff. Got a great deal on a new Larrivee.
Fantastic service for the serious musician. Awesome selections. Its the finest in town.
