I went to a number of locations looking for items.Until today each address was attractive, inside as well as outside. This was the 7th. The location of the store is strange because of zero exterior appeal. At six of the seven I learned things about both products, staff and the exceptional inside presentation of product and service. Staff are what create interest and atmosphere. The only conversation I partially overheard and was impressed by was a gentleman working in the salon. I found it annoying that staff cut in front of me. None of my personal observations are important in that with one visit and less than an hour I found nothing appealing with staff. The inside of the store is 5 star but I have no idea if it is a destination for learning. Know exactly what you want and no potential options go to Camelback

A smaller Ulta store that carries the usual items you would find at any Ulta. There are not many employees that are there to help you which you would have to go up to one and ask for. Because of that I had few items in mind to purchase in the basket and had to ask the cashier Kayla for recommendations. She was willing to step out and back with me following her for recommendations and decided to take a few she recommended at decent price.

I came in 2 days ago to buy conditioner. Cashier was persistent in asking for my phone number. When I respectfully said no she asked for a friends number, continued and wouldn’t let it go. My friend went in today and had THE SAME EXACT experience. And now I’m seeing other reviews with the same story? Ulta.. get your sh*t together. Those ‘compassionate’ responses to bad reviews are BS and you know it.Your company is tanking, and these practices are only going to tank you quicker.

I went in for one thing and as always it turned into me purchasing several items. Their employee Kimmy (spelling?) helped me with nearly everything I purchased. She was kind and informative, not only to myself but the other customers around who needed help. I appreciated her guidance and wonderful customer service. She definitely made this a really positive in store experience and I wanted to make sure it was recognized somehow. Thank you kimmy!

Went to this store after looking online for a particular item said in stock in store. Once I got here checked the shelves, nope empty display... The Guy with the horrendous breath told me the item is in the back in the shipment they just received that day but wont be restocked til midnight. As to thats the reason why it says in stock Online. So I said fine Ill come back the next day . Came back NOTHING then all of a sudden It said out of stock online as well. I was lied too . Bad experience not coming back

I came in to buy one item, at checkout the lady asked for my phone number. I told her I did not have one. The woman then asked if I would like to sign up, I said no again. She continued to ask if I had a friend who had a number, again I told her no. She then proceeded to tell me that providing a phone number would help her meet her quota. At that point I no longer felt I was able to purchase anything unless I gave a phone number. I understand that there are goals to be met, but the insistent hounding is absurd. I don’t write reviews but this experience has warranted one. Unfortunately, for Ulta neither a goal or sale were achieved.

I love the location but the employees make me not want to come back.. always gossiping.. never really ask if you need help.. and the cashiers are worse... today I accidentally put a product on the counter I didn’t want so I was charged for it and I asked the cashier if I could just return it due to not needing it and all she did was roll her eyes back, gave me an attitude after that .. it’s like me wanting to return an item that I didn’t need was such an inconvenience for her..

Just went in there to shop for some items, I don’t think I will be going back to this location when the Rude Cashier Rose is working there . She has no customer experience and is by far, unpleasant . She doesn’t smile and kept giving me orders in a rude way as if I were a child . When the transaction was over, she didn’t even bother to say, have a nice day or something . You would think they have the cashiers trained well but now I’m ordering things online

Ive tried. Several times. Not customer service friendly. If you have a return forget it. They even make even exchanges difficult. My last try was ordering on the app. I ordered perfume I ended up not liking and you cant return the same day! Say what? Now I have to wait for my next day off and drive all the way back.

One of the smallest Ultas Ive been to and unfortunately their supply of products is just as small. I went to get some Sebastián clear Cellophane and they not only didnt have it but didnt even know what I was talking about. Then I attempted to get my eyebrows done and was told they were too busy at the salon and wouldnt be available until 4pm..it was around 11am.Needless to say I WILL NOT be going back there ever again.

I told her I didnt want to give her my phone number, so she started to beg my husband for his instead, it took us telling her no five times before she passive aggressively said I wont be able to return anything without it. Don’t ever sign up for their rewards unless you want to be robbed.. literally. Was told to wait 10 business days until my card came in the mail to pay in off.. I never received it. When I called their bank they told me the address was updated. I told them I have never contacted them before and they said someone called a month ago reporting a lost/stolen card with an address change on my account. That was not me.. I just paid it off with the late fees but they offered no type of support on the matter. Closed the card immediately.

I have never in my life been so humiliated and discrimated upon.. I had a totally great experience Chen I first walked in. I was greeted with respect. One of the associates really helped me with my makeup choice. Also vshe showed me some items that I wasnt even looking for because she was so polite & professional I purchased the other item. Talk. About v A slap in the face When I went to the counter to make my purchase I was looking for my monev& my purse fell all my items. Fell out and I had already made the purchase for the makeup and. The Polish. Handed the associiate my money & as I was putting my items that fell out my purse back she asked me I wanted her to bring of. My kids eyebrows that I purchased from the dollar store which I had my receipt for. If all the cheap & humiliation I felt. Very pleasant staff. Greeted inside the door, yes you need a mask, and social distancing. Explained that there were no testers, due to Covid19. Some of the shelves were a bit bare... But there is enough that you can find something to replace your usual product. Maybe find something you like better 😉

This location used to be the best with helpful and nice staff! However, today I went here with my mom. Worst service ever!! There were a lot of people working and not one would help us. There were two employees standing in the aisle just talking to each other when I needed help. When I asked them where an item was they responded by pointing and saying, “it’s over there.” Still had to go search for it myself. I had a few items in my hand and no one offered a bag for me and couldn’t even find a bag for me to continue shopping. Lastly, when I got to the checkout I asked the lady about a promotional sign. She said the sign was placed there in error and she couldn’t honor the sale price. Very misleading.

I again said NO thank you. And he continued to follow me and watch my every move. I dont know what that was about, but it made me feel uncomfortable being watched at all times. I hate sharing negative experiences because it can normally be forgiven quite easily. However, the staff here was very rude about curbside pickup confusions; extremely rude and belittling. I’ve tried to forgive Ulta for previous grievances in the past but it’s definitely coming to a point where I would rather take business elsewhere. Please please make an effort towards decency and not trying to make people feel small when your instructions are unclear to begin with.

I enjoyed the customer service, and was pleased with my hair when leaving. However, when my hair dried hours later the perm did not take. I did everything that I was instructed to do; I endured my wet hair in my face, afraid to touch it... the perm just wanted to fall out. It might just be my hair, or the services... I still wanted to warn others that your perm might not take. Like mine. I paid the money, took the time, and hoped for the best. Things just dont always turn out the way you might be expecting. Just FYI.

Not too busy on a Monday afternoon which was nice. Every haircut and color I witnessed was done with expert care and all clients wee happy. I had a cut and style done by Marco and he took his time explaining certain ways to style my hair. He only used scissors to cut and texturize my style which is something I havent experienced in many years. I made another appointment so I wont have to wait to get my service done by Marco again.

Second time I have been since I moved here. First time they asked if I was going to buy anything and if I wasn’t they couldn’t help me. What?! I was asking about new products bc I wanted to purchase them... but you start off like that. Second time was today. I have been recovering from being sick and when I have a day off I usually just wear some powder and a hat. This time I had about $80 worth of products I needed to buy and not one person said a word to me or asked me if I needed help. I actually needed a product not on the self, come on now. Walked to another part of the store and back to the area I was in first and again not one word. I have money guys and I wear makeup everyday except for the days I’m not working. I’m sure there are other Ulta’s that have better customer service. I’m from the Midwest and that’s not how you treat people and we don’t judge. Rude x2

Save time and buy online. The cashier would not honor my coupon, she had a paper copy, I know this because the customer in front of me was able to use the same coupon! While I searched through my emails ( very annoying) the same cashier sighed and clicked her nails on the counter. No one was in line behind me and there were two cashiers. Should I apologize for taking her time? Then, the register was not working and I was moved to the second cashier to pay. The coupon should have been honored, especially after the register inconvenience. Unfortunately, this is the worst customer service I have ever experienced at this location and I will not be returning. Perhaps Ulta should close their stores and go online only, at least a website knows how to use a coupon!!!

A few issues. Had my makeup done here and they made me look like a drug addict or something. Also had a hair appointment and told them that it was for my wedding so I needed it done early. They called me the day before to move my appointment an hour later than my scheduled time. It made me exactly an hour late to my own wedding, I am so lucky my family was very understanding.

One of my favorite places to shop! From time to time, the floor staff can be too helpful & get really annoying. I feel on guard if theyre not engaged with someone else. I hate saying, No, I dont want to try that product, I want this one! Come on people, if I needed the help I would ask. Otherwise, lots of stock & very knowledgeable for when you DO want the help. Got a coupon off their site for $3.50 off $15 or more. You get to the register and find there is a raft of exceptions. Even if I had read the fine print regarding all the exceptions I still would not have known mine didnt count as the brand name I purchased is owned by another name that is on the list. From now on Ill shop where the price and discounts dont require a law degree. But good for Ulta, they have made a lot of money not being clear. Got me once. Wont get me twice.

I took my daughter hear my first time in a makeup store and it wasnt bad I mean they have some boys stuff there for for dads to look at you know they have some cologne and some other things and you can get glammed while you wait for only a hundred bucks I opted out of the clam will I wait but maybe next time I was a little upset that I had to pay $100 for two very small things that make up I dont get it I dont see why that makeup is so much more expensive than the rest does it have Angel baby toes ground up in it or something anyway the staff is really nice it was easy to find and I had a good time

This is the not the first time I have had a negative experience at this store but today was simple awful.As I was shopping around I was wearing headphones, as I have social anxiety and listening to music helps me shop. An older gentleman who had a scooter he was on that was working aggressively asked if I needed help 3 times and just kept staring at me. I nodded no politely while I tried to keep looking around.After not being able to find the product I was there for I decided to ask him for help. I had checked the app before and it said it was in stock so I asked him about the product and showed him an image from the ulta app and he nearly yelled, “oh we don’t carry that brand here!” To which I was confused. I politely explained that Ulta does carry that brand and I just saw another product from that line in the store and needed help finding this one and that the app says in stock at this store. He again got aggressive and said, “Oh that app NEVER works! It doesn’t know our stock at all and I told you we don’t carry that brand!” He said scoffing at me. I felt very uncomfortable and as if he was discriminating towards me or something based on how he spoke to me. I was so uncomfortable I wanted to just end the conversation but he aggressively said: “where did you even see this brand?” In a very defensive tone and I showed him where it was. When looking at it I pointed to where is said the product I was looking for on the shelf and he scoffed, took my phone from my hand to look and said : “yeah we don’t have it.” I was very confused why he was being so aggressive with me and rude when I was nothing but polite. I nodded just wanting to leave and then asked if they possibly hadn’t put the product on the floor or if he could see if it was in the back or ask someone where it could be and he again was so rude to me and said “we just got shipment Thursday and I know we don’t have it!”After this I was so put off I quickly left the area he was in because of his he was treating me. I was confused how he could go from so adamantly telling me they didn’t carry that brand to all the other things he said. I work in customer service and run a store and could never understand how someone in customer service could act like this. His aggressive and rude attitude the entire transaction was too much for me and I don’t believe I will return after this.

I asked the lady and she put her finger up like to wait because her and another co worker were too busy laughing about something over the weekend. The cashier was so nice with my returns and was nice enough to listen to me and totally agreed with me as far as products go. I did not have the box for my eye shadow and she didnt make me go get one for the barcode as and I didnt wait at all. The only thing I could say is as far as personal beauty products go Ulta in typically most expensive and the convenient store cosmetics are also priced higher, but the more pricy brands seem to be what you pay at Sephora or Macys. This store seemed more friendly and more knowledgeable than the one at Tempe Market Place. Will for sure be back!
