I deliver auto parts to shops in owemsboro. J&L has one of the cleanest shops in town, I also had work done on my truck, all other shops I talked to said the intake had to be removed to replace oIL sending unit. J&l replaced unit without removing it. Took about 20 min, the shop is clean the mechanic know what they doing. I highly recommend them. Larry the owner is really a nice fellow.

Chef Red from Gourmet Meals To Go sent me here to get my brakes fixed and these guys got me together in less than 8 hours. Best mechanics in owensboro hands down, and they dont charge an outrageous amount. I will definitely be back if i have car problems. Thanks guys, your the best.

Brought BMW in for oil leak and they fixed it and then proceeded to fix some other things which honestly needed to be done but didnt call and ask or inform me about the repair so the original oil leak ended up being $500+. Then, the car was still leaking oil so I informed Larry, he insisted that it wasnt and told us to bring it back in. He discovered that it was indeed still leaking oil and told us to bring it back the next day so Im assuming theyre going to finish the job they already started at no cost -- like every other repair shop Ive ever had a similar issue with. Came back to pick up the BMW and man informs me that it will be $206 more. At this I balked. I said, youre kidding me, right? We just spent more than $500 getting this fixed and you guys didnt get it done and now youre telling me its going to be $200 more??? The man then quickly knocked $100 off the bill and told me that I didnt have to pay that day and I told him that I wouldnt be. Bottom line is, I feel like we were taken advantage of because my son drives a BMW and because they knew my father has a little more money than average. What they didnt know is that we got that BMW for $6000 used, my son worked for two years saving up half of the money for it, we gave him all of our tax refund and got a loan for the rest. I ended up paying the J&L the next week when I got paid again because I am NOT my father and we live check by check like most of America. That situation left a bad taste in my mouth but we still took our minivan to them when the radiator cracked and they gave us a competitive price on it (we called our old mechanic after J&L gave us the quote to be sure).

Terrible service took them ages put two new batteries in the truck without calling me beforehand wouldn’t answer my phone calls when I started getting aggravated. Headliner in my truck was spotless and now I have two hand prints in the back passenger side. Do not recommend.

I have taken all my vehicles to Larry over the years. Hes an sweet, honest, and respectable man. He treats others as hed like to be treated. When he gives your vehicle a once over he will tell you exactly whats wrong with it and how long it will run before it lays down on you. He will also bring up issues hes found that may need to be addressed in the near future. He may not be the fastest nor cheapest mechanic in Owensboro but he is the most honest and he demands quality work be performed, which keeps his customers coming back again and again. As long as Im driving and Larry is around J & Ls is the only place I will take any of my vehicles to. Thanks Larry for being such a warm, wonderful, compassionate, personable, and honest man.

Was very pleased with the level of service and the price! They fixed my air conditioner for much less than the quote I received from another shop. I will return in the future, and would highly recommend them to anyone in the Owensboro area.

Left my car there mid December. Never got fixed. Had it towed back home the end of March. Not only was it not fixed but the battery was completely dead. No communication despite my leaving 4-5 messages. They never called to let me know anything. I’ll never take a vehicle there again and will recommend anyone I know not to go there.
