This facility and the staff are outstanding!I needed some assistance with a project to replace the frame on my 2006 Jeep (please be aware that 518 Auto should be ashamed!!) - David Kay offered his services and I am more than pleased that he did and even more pleased that I was smart enough to allow him to do the work! He treated my project like it was his own...These folks have an incredible facility and tremendous knowledge - if you are considering them, you need look no further!Thanks is not enough David - I forget your Taffy(banana), but I promise to fix that!

Awesome establishment. Knowledgeable staff. Clean environment and had everything we needed. My brother and I dropped his mustang transmission to change his clutch. From the first phone call, Ms. Samantha was very welcoming and answered all my questions. Going into the lobby, everything is cut and dry from walking in, to paperwork, to getting a bay took all of about 5 minutes. Getting in the bay, Jeremy greeted me like friend and got me situated. He was very knowledgeable with the repairs and when I had questions, he was quick with help. Going in, I was eager and overestimated my mechanical skill but Jeremy made sure that every time I went in the bay I would leave the same day! It’s a little pricier than the auto shops on base but the customer service and mechanics make up for it!TLDR; customer service is great, mechanics are knowledgeable, AMAZING customer service and mechanics make sure you aren’t in over your head.

Friendly, low key but professional. Didnt use a lift but picked up a Uhaul rental. Amsoil very reasonably priced.

Rent a lift is always a great place to work, only DIY garage in the area with an alignment rack and welding tools, and they have multiple ASE techs on staff who can help you out of just about any situation you may find yourself in when working on your vehicle. Rates are competitive and environment is clean, what more could you want out of a space to work on your car

Rent A Lift is Awesome! They put your car on the lift and take it up and down for you. You dont even need to know how to operate the lift because they do that for you. They have tools for you to use and will assist you if you get stuck on something while youre working. Yeah its like working at your garage at home, if your garage had a lift, tools, supplies, lights, safety equipment, disposal, parts delivery and assistance when and if you need it?

Just got a simple car inspection. I tend to have bad experiences with a lot of mechanics trying to talk me into things i dont need or didnt ask for. guy who did my car (Jeremy i think?) was to the point and only told me what i needed. Lacey (sp?) was also wonderful, very friendly and professional. will come here again!

When I called to go in to have a diagnostic test on the vehicle, they didnt tell me that if the engine light wasnt on that they could not plug into the portal to diagnose problems. So, when the mechanic came out and told me what I already knew, which was the heater core needed to be replaced, i said I knew that and what did you find on diagnostic test. Thats when I found out that I waisted my money. He further told me that it would cost more for me to help in replacing the part. Very disappointed 😞 . Not even worth the 1 star rating

I was referred here by someone in my neighborhood. I called Friday night, made an appointment for Saturday. Picked up my brake pads at Auto Zone, took them to Rent A Lift and they installed them for me in about an hour!! Great service. This will be my go to place for auto repairs in the future! The staff is professional and nice. The mechanic David was very helpful in my exhaust install. Rent a lift also have the best prices in town. I paid $237 instead of taking my car to the shop and pay $800. You can literally use all their tools and lift for the entire day and it only costs $200. I had the time of my life and I highly recommend their services. I will be going back!

I used a lift bay at the Virginia Beach Boulevard location to replace the exhaust system on my car, and it was a great experience. I was able to do most of the work myself but David was a huge help when I needed an extra set of hands. Ill definitely be going back!

I normally NEVER take the time to post any reviews, but after today I absolutely had to leave five stars. David and his team are absolutely brilliant and amazing. They know exactly what they are doing and have precision and accuracy to complete the job. A friend and myself took two vehicles over to do work on. One needed front suspension work done and the other just an oil change and look at the shocks and struts, had been told that they were starting to leak.The front suspension work my friend had been quoted $600 just for labor. The cost of doing the work and an alignment was much lower than that. The guys in the shop were all very helpful. They had all the specially tools that we needed. We will be returning in the future.

I went here for the first time today and its a great place to work on your car. The staff is very nice and helpful. Thank you to Ron and Jeremy for their assistance. For less than $70 I was able to rotate tires and change the oil on my car (parts and a hour of renting a lift).

Used their shop to change water pump on my truck since I live in an apartment and are not allowed to fix my truck in our parking lot. Great price to use their space and tools. Very friendly people working there. I will be back.

To do work here on your vehicle yourself the place is great. But when you have to have work done by them is where it goes bad. Had 2 items on my vehicle broke and nothing was done about it. Except I had to come out of pocket for new parts that they broke. And one part that I did have to get that I needed I was over charged for. The people are great but not very Reputable to owning up to their wrong doings.

Dependable, reliable, and friendly service delivering an unbelievable quality of work for an even surprising low cost. A mechanic on site helps you navigate through the mechanical hurdles and you feel like this is a place you would want to come back again and again. I own 7 vehicles and will never go anywhere else.

A phenomenal place to work on your car or truck. Extremely professional and clean environment to do anything you need to do. They go out of there way to help you in any way possible. Be it needing a hand or advice. They have online manuals for you to look at if your not to sure of what to do. Plenty of tools to get any job done. Its the type of environment you feel at home with. Its like going to your neighborhood convenience store were your know by your name and not just money. I highly recommend this place to anyone who needs to work on there vehicle but doesnt have the space or tools to do it.

I have access to a full shop like this on base, and I still choose to come here. Then entire staff is amazing and super helpful. The owner himself is always willing to help turning wrenches. The guys are always there to help and have tips and tricks for every job. This is the best place to come to work on your car/truck/Jeep... Whatever and have a good time doing it. I brought in my niece and her car, and she even had a good time. I cant say enough good things about these guys. Im a customer for life.

To start off everyone needs to know that this place is run by two guys that work full time at another company and work here also. They work a few hours at one place and then go here, all while getting paid by the first. Robbing one to pay for the other. You have one that is supposedly a operations manager but doesn’t do anything but play on his phone and smoke. The other is as fat as a pig and follows the other guy like a puppy dog. Now he is out in California trying to start another rent a lift on the other companies time and pay. Interesting? Those guys working for the other company must think real highly of these people considering all their effort is into another company. Still not sure why anyone would pay to use a lift and still have to do the work when you can pay the same for someone else to do it all. Unless you can’t trust them, like these people. Snakes, and watch out to the commercial companies with accounts here your getting very little for your money and misleading work.....................Response from the owner 4 days ago........Not sure where you have received your information but unfortunately you have been misinformed. Great guys! Brought my Jeep in to swap the suspension and tires. It was a beast of a job but they had every tool you could need. On top of that the guys were very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. We had some of the guys help assemble the new suspension and couldnt be happier with the work. Not to mention, Ive never felt like Ive underpaid for service at a shop in my life. These guys are top notch and have earned a customer for life.

Ive been here 4 times and each experience was great. The place is really clean and the people are super friendly and helpful. How helpful? Im a stubborn person and dont ask for help when I get stuck. Someone there actually had to remind me to ask for help lol, so they are more than willing to lend a hand.Im living in an apartment while in Hampton which makes it difficult to do certain things. I dont want to weigh down my car with a 2-ton jack and theres no way Im rolling that down the hallways. This place has helped save me from getting shafted by overpriced mechanics, and fed my car tinkering addiction.

It was everything i expected and more. I drive a hyundai genesis v6, so it was pretty convenient to go here since these cars are a total PITA to work on the ground.They have full rolling toolboxes you check out, not socket by socket like the hobby shop makes you do. Specialty tools like a torque wrench, 2ton press etc you check out though. I was surprised when they handed me a super nice digital 1/2in snapon torque wrench.My car is almost slammed on the ground with coilovers, so it was nice that they had a bunch of roll up boards to get the lift arms under. They also had low pro jacks, i opted for the boards, faster.Also, im writing this review because i forgot to the first time. I am going back again for some more stuff soon. Its just sooooo much faster I cant justify working on my car at home on the larger things like coilovers, arms motors mounts etc.Ill edit this review after my second visit to see if everything is still just as smooth.
