Been using these guys for years always have a fantastic experience! A bit more pricy then some other lumber suppliers, but you get what you pay for. In this case exactly what you want in high quality lumber and fantastic service!
Friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. Thankyou Lumber Boys!
Very affordable and they are helpful & friendly !
Absolutely the best go to place for all your custom cut wood needs, Ive built desks, tables, bookshelves, closets, and couldnt do it without the Lumber Boys! Theyre great to work with. They also offer free delivery on larger orders and their drivers have always been timely and very helpful. Great prices too!
Great customer service, good prices! As somebody with very little DIY experience, the person working (I believe the owner?) helped me come up with a solution tailored to my needs. Thank you!
The staff was very courteous and helpful. I needed some basic light bulbs and I asked the clerk and he asked the wattage and a minute later returned with the bulbs. I was in and out of there within minutes.
If I could leave no stars, I would. One of the worst worst worst customer service I’ve received. Stay away!!
Always very helpful and solution oriented.
These guys are the best in the 5 hands down. I’m a small fry trying to get out there solo and Steve always makes time for me to answer questions or make suggestions, I never feel patronized for not knowing something. I will always use Lumber Boys and will always recommend them to my fellow contractors and home owners.
Lumber Boys is owned and ran by a family who cares a lot about what they do. They are passionate about the store and constantly get out of their way to help their customers. I personally witnessed them selling items on credit to complete strangers a few times, who just walked out of the store with free stuff promising to return later and pay for it. The owners pay equal attention to customers who spend $3 and those who spend $300. It is an extremely challenging line of business: running a small business in the city with unions and conglomerate companies is a struggle on its own. However, I do hope Lumber Boys will manage to stay in business and flourish for years to come.
I called about a dozen places to find somewhere that could make me a custom board for a shelf I own. There was nowhere that could do it for me, except Lumber Boys. I called them up and they were very helpful and told me how much the board would be. The product is perfect, exactly what I wanted.
This place is the real deal. First off Steve is the best, so knowledgeable and he is on point. He went above and beyond trying to find some supplies for me. Broke down the price And explained everything. Definitely one of a kind place in Manhattan.
Amazing service.

Lumber Boys is great for a basic father/son hardware store, but theyre EXCELLENT if youre looking for cut wood for your closet, cabinet, molding, or any other project!I find myself here frequently, not only to avoid an overwhelming trip to Home Depot, but because Steve and his son Rob are great guys who really know their stuff. Prices are competitive too - redoing my linen closet, I recently walked out with six 3/4 birch plywood shelves cut to spec, 3/4 quarter-round cleats, and some nice lattice moldings for under $70.Plenty of contractors come here as well, but despite my relatively small order, Steve patiently walked me through all the measurements and gave his thoughts and advice along the way. Steve may come off a bit abrasive at first, but give him a chance and Im sure youll warm up to him too.I highly recommend Lumber Boys for your next project, big or small...as long as theres some wood involved, theyre the best game in town!
Lumber Boys is by far the best place to order lumber in the city. Their turnaround times are quick and their customer service is excellent. Dont buy lumber anywhere else.
Great local hardware store. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I will definitely be back.
Needed to get flat aluminum bar cut. The few Home Depots I visited wouldnt do it and after searching around, I found Lumber Boys who said they could do it. They botched the job (bent the aluminum, cut it crooked, and even LOST one of the pieces!) and then had the nerve to charge me for it! I had to go buy more aluminum bar to finish my project. It was a waste of time and money (I guess the price for learning never to come back here again?). Fortunately I found Nuthouse just nine blocks away who did the work both quickly, professionally, and cleanly!
Good Guy helped me out with a serious issue at a job .
Thats one of the best hardware store in town ✅
Best place to have wood or MDF cut!Yes, sometimes they are busy and can be a b it curt, but this is NYC and they know their stuff - that is golden!
