This is the most wonderful butcher shop! Really fantastic quality meats, very reasonable prices - and just about the most charming shop you could imagine. Like stepping back in time or visiting a little Italian village butcher. I love it.

I have seen this place featured on Instagram before.I work nearby, so I thought I’d give it a try.I arrived at 5:20, and Jennifer was finishing with a customer.As soon as she noticed me she greeted me and asked me what I needed, so she can tell me if they have it or not before I continue waiting.Some places (with far more personnel working the same shift) don’t do this, and while I understood I had to wait, it’s a nice gesture.Once I got to place my order, she took the time to cut them to specification and cleaning the excess fat.The meat looked good already, and I couldn’t wait to get home to cook it.It smells fresh, it doesn’t look brown, and the marbling on the short rib is amazing.I sous vide cooked them for 24hrs and it’s definitely one of the best short ribs I tried.I’m definitely coming back, specially after learning they have rabbit and duck to order.Noticeable mention is how clean everything is.The knives and equipment are spotless and the entire place is neatly clean.Amazing customer service, and just as amazing quality meat.I’ll be coming back for sure!

The absolute best butcher shop for so many reasons. Jen is an amazing butcher and human being and she always makes you feel right at home and gives the best recommendations. It’s a store with so much history, my family from the neighborhood many years ago makes me feel like a piece of them is still there. The meat is top notch and Jen is fantastic at trimming and preparing. Also her cutlets are the best!!!!! My family only gets our special night meat from Moe’s. Wish I could give more stars.

Great local place to get your cuts of meat, bone-in ribeye, to pork chops, skirt steaks, sausage or bacon, it’s all fantastic. Jen is very knowledgeable and has amazing customer service. Definitely recommend.

Excellent quality of meat. My boyfriend bought veal to make Veal Milanese because we wanted to try this butcher. The butcher tenderized the veal to perfect thinness. The meat was so good that we got Rib eye the very next day. The butcher is so knowledge and the quality is unbeatable in NYC.

I have no idea if the meat is good and Im also vegan - but this shop does deserve stopping at. Its vintage look is outstanding and if you are lucky youll see its owner Mo Albanese who is over 94 cutting meat.

I was introduced to Albanese Meats & Poultry from a friend who is a chef. He turned me on to the Nancy Silverton Ground Beef Blend. It has a little extra fat for a LOT of extra flavor. Make a burger with this stuff, and your guests will wonder how you just made them the best burger they have ever eaten.

A little family business where the folks are super friendly, helpful, and go the extra mile you hope for with a butcher. I refuse to buy meat anywhere else if they carry it and is absolutely worth the extra few blocks out of my way!
