Small but well stocked bookstore. Employees friendly was my first visit wont be my last.
I love The Corner Bookstore. Its just like a neighborhood bookstore should be. Tbey dont have an incredible backlist due to space but they have all the newly published books especially literary fiction (not so much the airport bestsellers) and you can always order (they will deliver for free if you live at walking distance). The close early though (at 5 pm), thats the only negative thing I can say
I went here in order to find a specific book as a gift. While they didnt have the book I wanted, they offered some very good alternative recommendations as well as offering to order the book I wanted. I did end up buying their recommendation and it was a hit!The staff was very kind and helpful. A real gem of a store.
Such a beautiful setting. It has been a while since my visit there and post pandemic it will be where I start again for its feel. Very helpful and kind as I remember and a store front with a view out across, with a setting that in the look of Charles Dickens to be sure. I am a lover of books and all things good and this store had it for me. I look so forward to making my way back there to see what feeling it will once again bring. Support this store it is a good one. My name is Roger Browning, Author of The Reckoning of Rance. Now available on amazon.
One of the best book store I ever seen, Finally I found here what I wanted for.
Nice cozy bookstore. Staff were awesome👍
Our favorite place for Saturday mornings with a toddler. Even if books are slightly expensive. The ambiance is worth it.
Beautiful bookstore. Small, quaint, and cozy
Wonderful little book store! The lady helping me knew exactly what I was talking about even though I was bad at explaining it! Definitely come here and shop.
The employees are friendly, if you cant find a book, theyll order the book and will call you when it arrives
Lovely store, very friendly and helpful staff. This is a little book store that feels good for the soul when you walk in.
So saddened and disappointed by the staff here. I went out of my way (with a toddler!) to buy a book from a local bookstore to support business. I can easily buy a book online, where it is also much cheaper. I wasn’t even greeted with a hello. One of the two men finally asked if he could help me with anything. I told him I was looking for something new to read, and that was that. Not a “can I help or recommend something”. It didn’t get any better from there unfortunately. He even scared my two year old by scolding her. I grew up going to this book store and it has always catered to kids as well as adults I n the past. I guess that isn’t the case anymore.
Awesome findings…..
A wonderful neighborhood bookshop! The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and if you don’t see what you want on the shelves they will usually order it for you.
This local shop has a great selection and the staff was really supportive of the children I was with when they didnt have the book they wanted.
Thank you for such an easy book pickup! Really appreciated that you wrapped the book and placed it outside. What a great idea! Staff is so friendly even while wearing a mask and behind a door. 🌈🌈🌈
You can literally window shop here 😁 - select a book and call in for someone from inside the store to come out and charge you for it. Very friendly people. Great selection of books.
After many re-visits (thinking perhaps the staff were having an off day), I think finally I can say this is a terrible shopping experience, especially if you dont fit the background of the type of customers they like to be kind to. I live in the neighborhood, but I won’t be visiting again.
What a cozy and fully stocked little bookstore! I commented how the place reminded me of the bookstore in the movie Youve got mail, and the cashier shared it was one of the sites visited by the movies set designers! It also smells like books; I wish they had enough room for a cafe because Id work there to my hearts content! Amazing selection of hardcover classics with the original illustrations make this place a neighborhood treasure!
Friendly staff with a wide variety of books! Seriously super impressed! Not only did they have the book I was looking for but they had both paperback and a FIRST edition in hard copy as well! I was only here for a few months of business but if I lived in the area I would seriously take advantage of their trade in program they have. Definitely recommend to all!
Small. Expensive
Fantastic neighborhood spot
Great independent book store on the Upper East Side. An eclectic and well researched choice of books. The author talks and insights offered weekly or biweekly are well worth attending.
I adore this bookstore. They will get you ANY book you want and call you as soon as its in. Great customer service, a variety of interesting events and author visits. One of my favorite places.
A neighborhood gem with a knowledgeable, helpful staff
A 💎 of a classic neighborhood bookstore. Interesting sets of related books... about an artist, a city, a time period. Plus a mix of new releases, old favorites and a few surprises. Knowledgeable friendly helpful staff.
Came to purchase a gift and a book for myself. The book I was interested in was not available, but the staff ordered it and was in the next day (under 24 hours later). The gift was finely wrapped -- stickers over the prices -- and well received. Overall, the selection is well curated and the service is top notch.
Lots of fun to browse. Lovely interior with benches to sit and sample books
Perfect neighborhood bookstore. Very helpful staff.
A rare thing these days, a small bookstore with compelling stock focusing on literary fiction, history, biography and childrens works. All the books generally sell at retail, but thats a small premium to pay for intimacy with real printed materials and learned booksellers. A beloved neighborhood landmark.
Best book store ever, so cozy and friendly, a complete go to place for anyone looking for a good book to read!
Nice store with a great selection. Always a distinct pleasure to go to a neighborhood place.
A friend recommended the Corner Bookstore. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff!
Went here for the first time today. It was a great experience. Very high class neighborhood. I saw a celebrity. i didnt find what I was looking for though so kind of unhappy about that. Very clean. I will come back soon .
I visited this bookstore for the first time. After purchasing a book, I found the book 1/2 price at Strands. I called this store to return the book. They offer a store back credit. This is a an UNETHICAL, BACKWARDS way of doing business! The staff was cold and unwelcoming. That may have been because they were all white males. I dont know, but one thing is for sure, NEVER AGAIN!!!! WAKE up people, STRANDS is the way, friendly, inexpensive, large variety. BY PASS this one and head to STRANDS.
Nice bookstore on upper Eastside New York City.
This is a great specialty bookstore located in the Arts District in DTLA.They have a great selection of books specializing in Art, Architecture, and Photography and some are original print. They also have a small selection of kids books and greeting cards.
My favorite bookstore! The window is always filled with interesting titles, and browsing in the store is great fun. I ordered a book I couldnt find anywhere else, and I had it in just a couple of days. I buy a book here every time I visit New York.
Always kind and wonderful workers to help with suggestions.
This is one of the last greAt.bookshops in the city great staff and a browsers delight good window displays five stars
Amazing staff! What they dont have they will get for you and do it with a smile.Extremely quiet inside.
The staff is very well versed in current and recent titles and can make a good recommendation.
Small in store stock, willing to order for you, more geared towards regulars and not for walk ins or browsing
Very quaint local bookstore. Very helpful staff!
An interesting bookstore offering meetings with authors, wine and great conversations
A great neighborhood bookshop. Small, but well curated and a well-read staff
