A must go place for a bookworm

I went there today, the cashier was a little rude to me. Didn’t have much stuff to buy but it was still very good!

I’m Japanese calligrapher. I ordered Chinese traditional flaming for my works to this store. It took longer than expectation (more than two weeks) but still works were great. Friendly people there. Only Chinese people should call if you have questions. Reception lady does not know English at all. Except that, nice place!!

Picked up a great Cantonese for English speakers book

Great little place with a great selection. Classes for Chinese calligraphy and a great selection of calligraphy things for any level. This is pretty much almost the last Chinese bookstore in New York city due to all the changes, be sure to check it out before it disappears!Wanted to find some calligraphy gifts for my grandma and this was pretty much the only place with a good selection of things. What a spectacular bookstore! Not only do they offer an impressive array of books in Chinese and English (including resources for learning each others language), but art and calligraphy supplies, and musical instruments! Chinese cultural dream come true.

Small bookstore on a 2nd floor right next to Elizabeth Center. Aside from books, they have a lot of calligraphy materials, unique pop up cards, some Chinese wedding decorations, children’s games, ping pong stuff and more.

Its on the 2nd floor. Nice Chinese bookstore. If youre an ABC and want to get a bilingual Chinese cookbook, this place is the place to go. They also offer Chinese calligraphy classes.

Probably the largest Chinese bookstore in New York. Lots of childrens books. cookbooks, language and scholarly writings, art and games... cultural life in NYC would be sad without this place.

The bookstore on the second floor, a large space, rich in content, Chinese and foreign books, teaching materials in China & English, childrens books, special paper and ink for Chinese calligraphy, Chinese traditional musical instruments, calligraphy and painting couplets (you can also ask expert to creat a new one for you), all kinds of chess, Paper-cut entertainment ... it is really a great place to visit, to learn Chinese cultures.

Good for books and accessories like ink and paper. But dont go there for brushes, the brushes there are in general pretty awful.

This bookstore is one of my fav places in NYC. I have been going there for yrs to buy Chinese Brush supplies, art books and music. I live on Cape Cod now and miss it. On my few trips back to Manhattan, I always try to go there.
