We get our daily coffee from the roasters at Hey Cafe! And it is luxurious to get espresso drinks & sit on the Greenway cafe style. Cant wait to visit again.

This is an awesome little coffee shop! Good drinks, nice staff, and a very comfortable and relaxed vibe. We were here on a Monday and it was pretty slow. It really has a great neighborhood feel. We thought there was just the seating in the front, but if you walk through the back it opens up into a really beautiful courtyard.

Comfortable spot to grab a small bite or latte. Chai was devoid of flavor but their lattes are good

This is a great spot on Magazine to quickly grab some coffee or study/do work all day. They have a nice courtyard out back too!

Good coffee at a small shop that roasts their own beans. Smidge disappointing as I specifically traveled here for a good pour-over. For large batch coffee out of a carafe, I would have stayed more local... With that said, they do definitely have a quality cup of coffee and excellent, friendly and helpful service.

HEY! has quickly become my favorite coffee spot uptown. Theyre one of the few places nearby that roasts their own beans. I always go to buy a bag for myself. Theyll grind the beans for you and have a firm grasp of what grind to use for your personal brewing method .These guys know what theyre doing, and it shows. 5/5 if youre a coffee enthusiast, 4/5 if youre just going for a drink since seating is a little limited .

Stopped by for coffee and a quick Sunday morning bite. The crunchy veggie cream cheese was probably the highlight, and I really wanted to love the seeded roll, but the texture was rather tough and didnt feel very fresh. The coffee was just okay, and I found myself missing a home-brewed pot of dark roast Caribou. Decor and overall ambiance was 110% too hipster for my taste. Rather disappointed since this place was so highly recommended to me.

Loved the beans here. We got a cup of Ethiopian coffee and had to come back to grab some beans. The barista was very knowledgeable about the characteristics of each bean which made it easy to choose a couple to buy.

I cant recommend this place enough. The coffee is delicious and they are incredibly knowledgeable about their products. They roast in house. They have awesome treats from local bakers. Theyre so conscientious that they dont even have a garbage can, theyve eliminated waste that significantly. They recycle and compost and what absolutely cannot be fits into a tiny ziploc bag. Theyre inspirational. The owners are 2 of the friendliest fellas you ever could meet and their staff are always pleasant. Theyll have shows here which is awesome and theres always super nifty art hanging.

I think that Hey! Cafe is a little more hyped up than it should be. I had a lot of friends recommend this location to me, just for a coffee. I usually go to coffeehouses for both baked good and coffee, but I thought I would give this one a try.The iced drinks are absolutely delightful. I think that Hey! Cafe must have some phenomenal dripping system because their ice coffees will take the cake. Their hot drinks I found to be a little disappointing. It was almost as if the espresso did not stand out against my latte milk.The atmosphere wasnt what I was looking for, a student looking to study some place that provides less distraction, more solace. If youre looking for something similar, Hey! Cafe may not be the place to stay, but it is a good place to drop by and pick up an iced coffee.

Gregg and Tommy, they know a thing or two. The coffee Ive had there is extremely tasty. Im no connoisseur, by any means, but Ive enjoyed every cup Ive ever had there. The service is always nice with a smile, and the shop itself feels just so...well...New Orleans! I love the music, and I appreciate the nice staff. Another thing, the shop roasts their own beans now. So fresh!

My favorite coffee shop in the city. Comfy and not pretentious. Their basic brewed coffee is better than some pour-overs Ive had in town. The banana peanut butter sandwich is insane!

Seriously local but open to everyone. Good coffee. Tasty bites reasonably priced. And they have respect for vegans which is much appreciated! Good people. If you want to support the real locals these are them! Another store to open soon in midcity.

Their tea selection is very nice and they have some creative drinks like a golden latte with turmeric.

Coffee here is so good. The lemonade was good as well. I got a cold lemonade served in a metal tin cup and it made my day.

The place has a great vibe to it. Good food and strong espresso. Was hoping for wilder drink choices given the feel of the place but definitely a great place to go if you arent looking for something fancy.

Great coffee limited seating. When my friend and i went here we had to go all the way to the back and sit outside in the heat because there was very little seating and the few tables there were had been taking up by people on their laptops working. If you visit here id plan on getting your coffee to go.

This is my favorite coffee shop in New Orleans. Great coffee, nice chill vibe. They roast in-house and recently added delicious Nitro brew. Get that with ice (normally not served with ice). Tommy is the man.

We had a coffee, a cortado, a peanut butter banana toast, and a breakfast taco. It was sooo yummy and a cool, eclectic atmosphere!

Based on my one visit and the numerous times Ive walked past this coffee house. It is a very cool, laid back spot to sit back and talk with the person next to you. That being said I wasnt as impressed with my order. Whenever trying a new coffee house I order an Americano, seeing as Ive drank close to a bajillion Americanos I would consider this a bad one. It was very bitter, which in my experience Americanos should be smooth and delicious. With that being said if I go back, Ill try something new.

Im not crazy about this coffee shop. The music is usually too loud to concentrate on work or reading. Ive had terrible service here, too. Once the woman working behind the counter made me stand there while she counted a roll of quarters before finally looking up and saying, Oh, were closed today. I would like to support this place since its small and is less yuppie than most coffee shops but they need to improve their customer service.

Its local, its awesome, its open late. Tip the baristas and dont camp all day.

The gentleman below who posted under the name of steve seems to be looking for something to complain about. there are tons of good baristas in new orleans (and a few bad ones). but, that being sad, i will have to agree to some extent with his analysis. the kids at hey cafe are friendly, the atmosphere great, and the pastries are pretty good, but the reason we go to coffee shops is to have coffee and espresso drinks. sadly, i have yet to get even a decent cafe au lait there. though i live right at magazine and napoleon, i almost always go all the way up to mag and jeff to get my coffee. 4 out of the 5 times i got something from hey cafe, i tossed it in the trash bin out front of miss maes.
