I am trying to open a coffee shop and I have been traveling and tasting the coffee around the states and other places in the world and I just found my first drink on the menu. Wow, talk about a place with great ambiance! A warm environment with tasteful décor, this is the perfect coffee shop! Mammoth has somehow managed to hit a 5/5 on both coffee quality and inviting location, most places struggle with just 1! Definitely make the trip - a true destination for any lover of coffee (or architecture)

I stop by on every trip I make downtown. Staff is very kind and knowledgeable. They really care about their coffee without being pretentious. Great spot to chill and think. Oh yeah - the espresso is superb.

Not only does Mammoth have a delicious selection of drinks and pastries, the staff is warm and welcoming and their ambiance/vibe is super cool. Rude barista! Asked for proof of vaccination after the mask mandate expired. Gladly provided my proof. Weirdly, I was the only one out of my entire party that ordered coffee here that was asked about their vaccination status 🤷‍♀️It’s unfortunate that one rude person can ruin a coffee adventure!Won’t be back.

The lattes are delicious, the baristas are friendly and knowledgeable, the atmosphere is great, and to top it all off they have been consistently incredibly safe during covid (even using fresh deli paper over the checkout screen for every new transaction so customers can safely sign and leave tips). I lived in New Orleans for about four years and Mammoths contribution to the coffee scene in town was significant. Yes, the coffee and tea are good... really really good... phenomenal actually. But that is made more apparent through superior service and a strong desire for bringing customers into the process. When I first spoke to Jonathan he said I want this to be a place that people can slow down, for even a moment, and enjoy our coffee and tea as much as I do. Not pretentious, just a desire for customers to have a memorable experience. Thats the kind of place I prefer to patronize, and will do so gladly when I go back for visits.

I would highly recommend this coffee place. Great coffees serving really good beans - madcap from Grand Rapids mi and good equipment to make the coffee. They also had good food all homemade. Really nice and chill staff as well. Also nicely away from tourist.

Easily my favorite coffee place in New Orleans. The lattes are delicious, their experimental flavors are fun, and their service is great. I also commend them for having diversified staff- nearly a rarity here but something that is FINALLY becoming more common. Also, for anyone who needs a break from the French Quarter or Uptown, have a seat at the pink table outside; it’ll feel like you’re in a different city.

This shop was amazing! We were visiting from Orlando and this spot was recommended to us. Their Rwanda espresso was delicious and we had pour overs that were great. They have a great menu with lots of different options for coffee or tea! The shop is beautiful - natural light, lots of plants, and wood. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. They were also being extremely safe with COVID and I’m very grateful for their safety. 10/10 experience!

Iced Coffee I had was truly phenomenal. Best in the city Space, atmosphere and staff was incredibly relaxed. I just wish it was closer to home, but a for 3pm pick-me-up in downtown NOLA, it doesnt get much better.

Mammoth Espresso has one of the best tea collections of any specialty coffee shop in the area. Whenever I am craving something knew, I always know that Mammoth’s amazing staff will recommend me a tea that is sure to satisfy. They even offer to re-steep your tea in order to enhance your experience and develop an appreciation for everything that tea has to offer! One of my favorite shops in the state of Louisiana, for sure.

Best coffee amongst all the places we tried in NOLA. We had cappuccino, pour over iced and also their kids drink ‘everything awesome’. Their espresso was low acidity and with wonderful fruity tones.

It was a nice coffee shop with a cool and modern touch! We tried their summer drinks and it was unique! The mule drink definitely acquires a certain taste which I was not a big fan off. I have not got to try their teas or coffee drinks but I will give them a try next time! It was clean and neat place if you would want to study, get some work done, or simply read a book!

I accidentally took the someone else’s drink and the owner made a brand new one to make up for my mistake. I offered to pay for it but she wouldn’t have it. All the things were great and we love seeing this business do a great job.

I do not live in New Orleans, but every time I make a trip I make a point to visit Mammoth Espresso. As a former barista at a 3rd wave shop, I can confidently say that their coffee is consistently excellent. If you are a specialty coffee enthusiast, or anyone who enjoys coffee, Mammoth is absolutely the best choice in the city (which is no easy feat, NOLA has a wonderful coffee community). Mask up and take a trip to Mammoth the next time youre in town :)

Got a $4 small sparkling lemonade and was it worth it. That might have been the best lemonade Ive ever had. My girlfriend thoroughly enjoyed her coffee. We will return before out trip is over.

I’m so glad the mocha tasted like coffee with chocolate instead of the other way around. Oftentimes cafes tend to give you what is essentially chocolate milk. The chai latte was also very good. Was nice having a conversation with the barista while he made the drink - it helps build a good rapport with customers, and it’s sort of the reason we’ll be going back there for a good coffee next time we’re in the area. I’d even make a trip there if it was out of the way, that’s how good the coffee is.

This place is located in an awesome location downtown close to a bunch of parking options. Its not too crowded and gives a very authentic feel. The coffee is amazing. I love cafe mochas and theres is super good. Not to mention the blue mugs are a great touch. Definitely one of my favorite coffee spots in Nola!

Always wonderful coffee served by knowledgeable staff. Dont overlook the amazing tea selection if you have time stay for a second steep. The also make their almond milk in house. Amazing scones and breads as well as hand pies.

Good coffee, groovy music, nice staff.The place is nicely decorated with high ceillings, cream paint, wood and warm color leather that makes it feel cosy and peaceful.The cortado caffe is good and nicely prepared with the classic heart shape on top of the foam.The music is pleasant and the sound coming from nice wood speakers is way better than your average bose or sonos stuff. Fastand well defined basses rather than just heavy.

The girl working on 5/18 at 430pm was EXTREMELY RUDE. She didn’t even say hi before telling us to wear a mask. Even though the rest of the city didn’t require one. Even after wearing one, she proceeds to tell us to put it over our nose higher (even though it already was on my nose). I should have walked out. She glared at us the whole time and the latte wasn’t hot. Too bad, it could have been a good experience after driving 10 minutes out of the way to get there.

Always a pleasure coming into Mammoth! They care about the quality of their coffee, customer experience, AND employee safety. Seeing their response to the pandemic has only deepened my appreciation for Mammoth. I want to support a business that has exceptional coffee and understands that taking care of employees means employees will have the capacity to provide friendly, knowledgeable service. As someone who is higher risk and without health insurance, Mammoth has been one of the few coffeeshops in NOLA where I feel safe. When they did have a staff member exposed to COVID, they followed the necessary deep cleaning protocols AND PAID EMPLOYEES WHILE SHUT DOWN. Incredible business, consistently yummy coffee, and (often) adorably awkward baristas lol. Receipts are on their social media.

This is the best coffee shop in downtown New Orleans, hands down. The baristas are always welcoming to begin with, and then they make you a beverage thatll knock your socks off. I love that they offered some beautiful tea gift sets during the holidays for the discerning tea drinker in everyones life.Also, it goes without saying their careful covid protocols to protect their employees and customers have been very appreciated. I always tell my fellow locals to check out Mammoth, and if they dont love it their next cup at their preferred coffee joint is on me.

Hands down the best coffee in town in terms of flavor and originality. If you enjoy coffee like you do good wine, this is the place for you. For vegan/dairy free friends : they make their almond milk homemade with dates and its DELICIOUS (1$ extra but worth it!). Definitely on the pricier side but you pay for high quality and always kind service.

I’m giving this coffee shop two stars because the coffee itself was actually decent although I’ve had much better. The customer service; however, was not. My son and I came in very early on our way back home and we were dropped of by Uber so we had our bags with us. The blonde heavyset guy at the front was not very pleasant at all. I had obviously never been there before and he just stood there staring at me as if I was annoying him as I scanned the menu. I ordered our drinks and then asked if they had croissants (the food menu was no where in sight) his response was “no we don’t have that” and that’s it. I would have given him the benefit of the doubt because it was early but when several white couples/families came in he was very pleasant with them. There was a really nice tall guy that came in a little later(I think he may have been the owner or manager) Next time I’m in NOLA I will find another coffee shop to stop in.

Mammoth is as good as it gets. There are a lot of places to grab a good cup of coffee, but very very few will be handed to you by someone who is as interested and invested in their customers and their craft as Mammoth. Not to mention, their espresso can’t be beat!

We were having difficulty finding high quality coffee and espresso in New Orleans until we found Mammoth. The Honduran espresso was some of the best espresso that I have ever had--and, honestly, I am very particular about my espresso :) It had a deep plum with a rich and creamy finish. The coffee was done to perfect temperature and just as complex as the espresso. Johnathon was absolutely WONDERFUL, well-informed about the area, and very well-informed about the coffee! We will certainly be back! PLEASE go here if youre looking for good coffee/espresso!

This place earned a 5 star review. Lavender latte is fantastic. The poor-over was just as good. I tried several other coffee shops in the area and this one is the best. I highly recommend it.

Words can not describe my love for Mammoth. The coffee can not be beat, and the atmosphere is the perfect place to work, read, or catch up with friends. My husband and I very quickly made friends with the staff, and get so much joy in catching up when we make our coffee runs!

The coffee was sooo good. HOWEVER, idk the name of that girl, but if you snoody, then dont work at a coffee shop. Noone wants to walk in early in the morning and pay exorbitant prices for a cup of coffee (more than Sbux, but the coffee actually tastes good) and deal with whatever put you in a bad mood today.

The coffee shop is very cozy and small, I really like it. And definitely appreciate when a place has more than coffee to offer!But I have to say I don’t give 5 stars because the service was not so kind.Other than that I would totally recommend this place!
